Cute little coffee place that you'll miss if you're not paying attention! They have a seasonal menu and a standard coffee menu with your classics (Americano, mocha, etc). I ordered a Seattle fog off the seasonal menu and it tastes great! Just the right amount of milk to tea ratio and it's not overly sweet :) The staff working there were quick and polite. While a line may deter you from ordering, it took maybe 5 minutes from the time I ordered to receiving my drink. Highly recommend dropping by if you're in the area read more

I really liked my coffee from monorail! I got an iced vanilla latte with almond, which i appreciated they carried. They have a wide selection of faux milk, flavors, and different coffee drinks! Service was great, the barista was friendly and my coffee was out in like 3 minutes. I love that it's a little hole in the wall on the go place for all of us that commute through downtown. I never have a good experience whenever I go here. Yet I come back like the easy cheap slut I am. I ordered a small latte as I walked past this shoebox for a coffee shop. I was running an errand and was also crashing from my morning coffee. I purchased a small latte, their seasonal one. Payed a total of 6.37. Small. No alternative milk. Just whole milk. It didn't even taste good. I'm so upset. The barista was so kind and pretty. I hope your day is good honestly. This is on me though. I came here a while back, sometime in 2021. The coffee was good. I did not think this tiny little window shop would rock as hard as it did! We tried to enter then realized it was just a walk up lol. They had a classic menu then a couple seasonal specials. We ordered the bananas foster latte, iced with oat milk. It was legitimately phenomenal!! The banana wasn't artificial at all. The sweetness level was perfect because you could still taste the high quality espresso. Awesome find downtown!! read more

After spending some time at Pike Place, my friend and I were in the mood for coffee. We did a bit of research and decided to check out Monorail Espresso. This location is more of a stand with no interior, making it a nice grab-and-go spot. COLD BREW (12 OZ) - 4.75 It was strong but had lasting, bitter after taste that made me think it was over-steeped. Unfortunately, I didn't like the drink and didn't finish it. My friend got the hazelnut latte and couldn't taste much hazelnut flavor initially and thought the espresso was bitter. This spot was located near our hotel so I wanted to give it a try! I saw from one of the photos on Yelp that there was this burnt creme latte. I asked the worker what that was and I forgot exactly but she said it was a combination of vanilla, hazelnut and I think something else. It sounded good so I ordered it. My drink was good, nothing amazing but like a regular latte. I liked how it had a nice color to it (not too milky or light). My drink came out fast and I noticed the line got long afterwards. Coffee: 5/5 great quality coffee. In a busy city location. Price is on the more affordable side. The coffee aroma was deep and definitely delicious. Service: the shop is a tiny that's located in a big building. You mostly have to do to go, since there are only 2-3 tables outside, which is right beside the roads. When I was attending a convention at the Summit building of the convention center, I went to Monorail a few times. Seattle is supposed to have good coffee, but the coffee at my hotel was meh, and I needed a fix. I found the service to be always fast and friendly. There would occasionally be a line, but they would move through it really quickly. Everything was made to order. My friend was sad they don't have drip coffee, but since I prefer mine to be freshly made, it was great. I tried a cortado, an oat milk latte, and an iced oat milk latte, and all three were really good. I didn't hang out in front but they do have some tables nearby. read more

This is a great, quick coffee spot in Downtown Seattle, and honestly it was the best tasting coffee throughout our trip in Seattle. FYI - there's no indoor seating--t's really just a small booth/kiosk with fast service to get you back on your way. There is some outdoor seating too for those wanting to linger a bit that we saw people using as well. We tried the lavender latte here, and it was really good! It was our first time having a lavender latte, and we were amazed at how well the floral/earthy flavor blended well with the latte. Plus, the quality of the coffee beans is very noticeable here. They had many other options as well, including teas, small bites, and some fun looking merch. Definitely check out Monorail Espresso if you are in Seattle! read more

Monorail Coffee gets an instant 5 out of 5!!! The coffee is probably one of the best in downtown Seattle!! It's a small place, but this spot makes a delicious and very tasty coffee!! The temperature of the coffee is perfect....the froth has the perfect micro-bubbles balance and an excellent espresso shot!!! The service is very nice and friendly. Stunning!! I came here 3 days in a row while in Seattle and it was perfect. My first day I went to the window and asked the barista for a recommendation in which he offered the burnt crème latte and I never looked back. Well priced and quick service and never a wait even at peak hours before work and super friendly baristas! Not too mention the flavor of the latte was stunning. Prior to visiting Seattle, I saw some random Instagram story where this place was listed as someone's favorite coffee spot. I had never heard of this place before but figured it would be worth a visit. It was a surprisingly warm day in Seattle and I was craving an iced americano. Walked over at 7:30am on Saturday, May 23. Posted opening hour is 7am. No one was there. At 7:40 went around the corner to Wild Rye Bakery. The coffee was good and the almond croissant was delicious (stuffed full of almond paste!). Too bad this place wasn't open when they said they'd be. 4.5 stars. Came here on a beautiful sunny afternoon and everyone seemed to be in a great mood. The location has some outdoor seating and friendly baristas. Espresso was good as well. I wish they had spoons as I had to drink a little of the top to be able to mix but given the location that would be difficult to give out full silverware. Their cookies are a must try with their hot coffees (it is pricier $3). Monorail is the top walk-up coffee spot that's open at 7am. It's simple but very well crafted and perhaps my favorite in the area. There is no dedicated seating or parking available, so it is definitely more of a commuter cup spot. read more

I stopped by for a quick coffee as I had heard pretty good things about this spot. I will say, I really like the flavor of the espresso here and can tell it was good quality but the fact that I chose the pistachio flavor really affected my opinion of the drink. I didn't love the syrup as it was more the artificial pistachio flavor, as opposed to the flavor of the nut itself like in a pistachio butter. Awesome maple cinnamon latte, one of seasonal drinks - very bold maple flavor sprinkled with cinnamon to cheer myself up on this overcast weather... it wasn't too sweet which is perfect! I was struggling to stay awake and this drink helps a bit! Service was quick as you go up to the first window to order then go to next window to pay up. Pretty chill as there's no seating indoor. Loved Monorail!! Located a short walk from our hotel, we came by and there was a huge line. It moved quickly though! I tried the coconut cold foam cold brew, and it was delightful!! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cold brew was smooth, and the cold foam added just the right hint of sweetness. My husband had an iced mocha and really enjoyed it. Notable espresso machine. Superb coffee. Quality experience. This is a walk-up window coffee shop. Seattle is home to many fantastic coffee shops and Monorail is definitely a must try when visiting. They have a few locations, however I would recommend trying this specific location. It's a busy one, but the walk-up and order makes for a unique experience. They don't have indoor seating but do offer some tables to sit and enjoy the busy area! Definitely gives a unique ambiance! We visited during the fall months and I really enjoyed the Spicy Orange mocha. They also make a great cortado. There is also a variety of tea that is no doubt delicious. I ordered a cortado and sister ordered the ube matcha. The cortado was delicious and the matcha was perfect with subtle sweetness. Service was impeccable. You order and they make your drink immediately. I asked if they did the cuban espresso shots here which is called a cubano, and received one on them (which was super tasty!). read more

This is how you do coffee! This Monorail location is window service, and it was a super quick and pleasant experience. The line was a bit long when we got there at 9:30am on a Saturday, but the line went by so quickly! The baristas were kind, and the coffee was smooth, creamy and delicious. Looooooved this coffee shop. I came in with the intention to get the ube coffee but didn't see it on the menu, so I opted into getting the coconut cold brew coffee. It was soooo good. This place is a little walk up shop when you order in line and pay at the end when you get your drink. The staff is really friendly and helped me decide on my drink! Spare me your foul gaze woman!! Barista makes great espressos as quick as you order them but god forbid you ask for a cup holder because you have two kids and can't hold 4 drinks at the same time. Or they messed up your order and didn't get your double shot. Her eye widens like you just inconvenienced their life. Cute small shop. Could really work on people skills. I enjoy their iced vanilla lattes! Their regular hot latte with oat milk also tastes good. I really wish I enjoyed the iced strawberry matcha drink (seasonal), but it didn't have a super strong matcha taste and the strawberry wasn't the greatest. Super friendly staff! There are some small street table and chairs, but it's more a convenient to-go coffee place. Paid street parking. You could park at the Amazon building for free on the weekend or the Whole Foods parking lot (if you buy something to validate). read more

They probably have to charge that much to keep the 8 employees milling about behind the counter employed. The space does have lots of seating, but it was nearly full during our early afternoon visit. Save your money, find another great local coffee spot!

It has matcha and house banana puree, both of which work well together. The tiny layer of house banana puree has all the flavor, especially when you mix the whole drink together. Very refreshing, and their ceremonial matcha's grassy tones still came out despite the banana puree being just as strong in the drink. Their matcha here comes pretty close to making it to the highest spots on my list of my most favorite matcha places in Seattle. I ordered a vanilla latte which had beans on the acidic side and was excellent. Definitely recommend stopping by this coffee shop if you are in downtown Seattle near the convention center.

I noticed that they now pour drinks from a pre-made plastic jug instead of making them fresh like when the store first opened. I usually don't get sick from drinking coffee but twice in a row is pretty bad. Their drinks are also overly sweet and most of them do not have a 0% sweet option, which is usually what I order from other coffee and tea shops, and it's probably because most of the ingredients are pre-mixed. They also use thick plastic cups, considering that Seattle is a pretty green city and a lot of similar Vietnamese coffee shops use sustainable cups. Sad to say, but my time visiting this chain has come to an end.

The drink came together very well, the oat milk was creamy and the espresso was very rich. All in all, I think this is a cool place to work and catch up with friends. I might read or journal here, but depending on the day and the lighting it can get a little dim for that. I'd come back again.

It made the experience feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. As a local, I expect better consistency and customer care. For some reason, you get a much better experience both in service and quality at Victrola on 3rd & Pine in Capitol Hill & Pike. At this point, I don't plan on coming back to this location.

It turned out to be one of the best cups of chowder I've ever had--rich, flavorful, and loaded with crab. I sat at the bar, where Joyce took great care of me. Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made an otherwise difficult day a little easier. Great service can make a real difference, and she absolutely delivered. Salty's isn't the cheapest dining option at SEA, but between the quality of the food, the relaxed atmosphere, and the outstanding service, I think it's well worth it. No introduction, no recommendations, no plates cleared. When I asked for something as simple as pepper, I got attitude, like I was putting her out. I typically tip 25%. I left 15% and honestly felt that was generous for what I received. At these prices, the food needs to be executed properly and the service needs to match. The chowder alone isn't enough to carry a $60+ meal. Would I come back? Maybe for a cup of chowder at the bar. Not for the full experience.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!
