My son bought his car a year ago in May. When we were out and about on Saturday, I noticed his inspection had expired in April. I was leaving for a work trip and wouldn't be able to get his car into our normal spot and on Sunday morning found that Monro was open and able to do the inspection. I got a bad flat tire and didn't have a spare. I got towed and the staff were very friendly and gave updates as they were working on my car. They were able to replace the tire (which apparently is a hard one to come by) in under 30 minutes. Because of the type of tire, the price was a little high, but I think it was worth it for the service and the speed. No issues and would definitely recommend going here if you need help! read more

LOOK AT THE PICTURES ATTACHED!! MY CAR IS NOT EVEN DRIVE-ABLE ANYMORE!! ENGINE COULD BLOW IF THE PROBLEM ISNT FIXED AND THEY REFUSE!!!! If i could give a 0/5 for this place I would. I dropped my car off for a muffler removal (quoted $150). Got the car to pick up the car, and was told it was over $100 past the budget. Before i even get home the muffler tip falls off. FALLS OFF. Bought back the next day and the tech said he had to redo the one side. Calls me later and says its complete, upon pickup I noticed the horrid job that was completed, bent pipes so bad it has corners, pipe goo EVERYWHERE, clamps not even in the right places, VIBRATING and banging the whole time driving. On way home the 2nd time one entire side falls and is dangling in my driveway, I bolted it back up quick the clamp. Called the manager Mark, and he even expressed they should NOT have taken the job as they dont have a pipe bender that can complete the bends needed. I asked for a refund as its clearly not okay. He refused. I called corporate and explained the issue. Brittney asked me to get a quote somewhere else to take care of it. I got a quote from a local reputable place and they still have yet to issue the refund. This has been going on since 12/28/2019. All I want is my car fixed, and they refuse to help me with it. The new quote is $100 more than I paid (because they have to replace and cut so much more exhaust pipe) and Monro refuses to correct the problem. Home of the 1 1/2 hour oil change. Had an appointment for 9:30 AM for a sit and wait oil change. Took him a half hour to get me in and then another hour to do an oil change. What's the point in having an appointment? Slow slow slow. read more

Please keep in mind that this is a review for the Canandaigua business only! I use the Monro Muffler in Avon, NY and it's great! It's 30+ miles away from Canandaigua and I choose to take my business there. If having arrogant mechanics with a HS degree treat you like an idiot then this is your place. While I was waiting in the office for a LOF and tire rotation a young business woman came in to have her car checked as it's check engine light was on. Long story short; the gas cap was loose. They charged her $80 for the computer hookup! She left relieved but should have been pissed! You can go to just about ANY autoparts store and have your computer codes read for FREE! On another occasion I went in for a LOF and tire rotation. They did the LOF but did not due the tire rotation. Why? The mechanic told me that there were flat spots on the rear tires and that if he rotated them to the front I would get a lot of vibration and noise. The real reason why ... they were busy and he was lazy. They were too busy to wipe off the oil on my steering wheel and my exhaust manifold. I'm the son of a retired army mechanic, the flat spot excuse was a load of crap. I rotated the tires myself and everything was fine. read more

I was having the worst week and luck with vehicles and these guys helped me out so so so much. Not only did they get me in right away to fix my tail light, they did it quickly and efficiently and with a whole lot of kindness. I normally am dreading going to get any sort of car work done. I dread the bad news that is likely to come with my 10+ YO car. Mark, who seems to be in charge most days when I've gone to this specific location is great. He talks through every recommended procedure once my car has been looked at and even takes me back in the shop area to show me exactly what he is talking about (I'm a big visual person, so this is awesome in my book). I appreciate the service I've gotten at Monro! At the end of the day, no one really wants to take their car in for repairs, but this Monro location is a great one! read more

These guys were the second call I made after picking up half a nail in my tire and developing a slow leak late in the afternoon on a Saturday. They were also the first to answer the phone in a friendly manner, which makes all the difference. Mark worked with me and squeezed me in before they closed. I went to the Canandaigua branch to get an estimate for my exhaust. I was told that it would be well over $1000 in parts alone. I had asked why the price was so high. I was told that the part came as a one piece unit. I had replaced the exhaust on a similar car a year ago and did it all in custom stainless steel parts for the price i was quoted. I know there is no way to put this on in one piece, as i did all the work myself. I asked if they would do the labor if i bought the parts online. I was told they do not install other companies parts. I asked if they were gonna make the parts in the back or order them from another company. I just got a dirty look. lol! You're better off going elsewhere. I ordered the parts from rockauto.com, and had "Done By Friday" guy install for under $400 total. read more

Decided to write this review after stewing on it for the last year. My starter went out on the van. I was in a parking lot next door to Kost tire so I had them change it for me. I paid 425 dollars for starter and installation. I felt that was way too much at the time but it was a business van and I needed to roll. Well just a little over a year later the starter started acting up and this time I remove it myself and changed it. 10 minutes to remove it on my back, no big deal. 10 minutes to install it on my back, no big deal. Total cost for doing it myself was 165 total for about 30 minutes of time. With a lift it would have been less. Two bolts and two wires finished business. I really feel ripped off by them and that is why the low rating. read more

I read the nice review about Mark and I had a different experience. I had been taking my Suburu there for oil changes for a while. The last time I was there, Mark informed me that struts were starting to leak and it would be better to get part of the strut replaced at #360.00 a piece, (I had never heard of them before and apparently there are 2?) before the whole thing needed replacing and it would be much more expensive. He didn't know though, that we had just had the car in to the Suburu dealership for a thorough going over as we were getting ready to sell the car to my son. So, we took it back to the dealership and asked them to look again at the struts - they ended up being fine - no leaking whatsoever. Needless to say, we were very disappointed in Mark. He was asking us spend $720.00 that we didn't need to. We will never take our cars there again. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. I had my car towed here in an emergent situation and after a seemingly pleasant man named Mark told me that he could hardly get a look at my vehicle because it was too cold that I was looking at $500 in repairs and another $500 in labor. I had a bad feeling about the prognosis so I had my car towed to another location at my expense. With the cost of towing plus parts and labor, it totaled $350. I will make sure that everyone I talk to knows the poor business practices of Monro Muffler. read more

DO NOT GO TO KOST!!!!! The employees here believe they can get away with attempting to get women to pay exorbitant amount of money for repairs that are unnecessary for their vehicles. The manager attempted to get me to pay almost $1000 in repairs and services on my classic car that had less than 49,000 miles on it as well as being in perfect condition (I am meticulous with my cars). They even thought it was a good idea to bring me into the inspection area while my car was lifted to show me "what was wrong" as they continued to show me parts and tell me how this was leaking and that was broken (all untrue). When we got to the desk as they asked me if I wanted to order the parts to "fix" my car I explained to them that my father used to be a mechanic so I knew they were lying to me. The jokers that work here had nothing to say about their little fiasco after I refused to pay the inspection fee. Meanwhile I took my classic to another shop to get it inspected and it passed with flying colors along with many compliments on what great condition it is in. KOST IS A JOKE. If you are a woman forget about going here. They only want to waste your money and time. read more

I had my car towed there to get repaired. I told them the car was powering down as I was driving, and bucking as i was going down the road. I told them I thought it was my alternator. The guy called me back and told me everything was fine, that it was only my battery. Which I thought was weird because the car has never not started for me, except for the last couple of days. Basically, he was probably thinking that i was just some dumb broad that left her lights on. Also I was told that I had a fuel leak that they need time to find, but wasn't to bad and could wait to be repaired just to make me aware of it. Well I was driving the car after the supposed repair and it was doing the same thing. I had to take it to the Kost Tire in geneva where I originally wanted it taken. Well it turns out that it was my alternator, and the fuel leak was seen by the puddle of gas sitting on the top of the engine. Oh needless to say the car is getting fixed properly by the Kost tire in Geneva. But when this supposed repair was done and the car left me stranded it was on my birthday. So thanks Kost for a "lovely" birthday. read more
