Service manager Reuben is very knowledgeable and has helped us save money on repairs. The back brakes on my Subaru were supposedly fixed at Carbone Subaru, but they still sounded like they were stuck or frozen. The mechanic at Monro found that even though my calipers were new, they were the cheapest ones. Reuben helped me navigate my decisions to fix my back brakes for now, and I will do the front ones soon. read more

Do not go to these people for any reason. I made an appointment to get my car inspected on a Sunday two months in advance. My husband took me to drop it off and they were closed. We call the next day and they decided to close on Sundays without canceling any of their appointments. No apologies. It wasn't their problem. So, we reschedule, bring it in, a 2014 Honda and their computer cannot read my cars computer. They can't figure it out and had the nerve to say he didn't have the time to find out why it didn't work. But, he still charged 21.00 dollars for the inspection. I found this ridiculous. We brought car to our dealer who said Monro bent the pin on the ob2 port and charged us 93.00 to fix it and inspect the car. Save time and money go anywhere else. The manager at N genesee st monro has no people skills .Saw I had broken down and came out to tell me I had to get the car out of the parking lot . Never asked if I needed help or if I wanted them to look at it. I told him a tow truck was coming he walked away. The tow broke down and I left the keys for the new tow to move it and when they got there he left a note saying if it's not gone by morning he is towing it at my expense . It wasn't taking up the entire parking lot or in the way . He acted like they had 20 cars and no where to put them they literally worked on maybe 6 cars the whole day I was there for 6 hours waiting for the tow. read more

Never go here. Manager Brad was extremely rude. Was acting very creepy towards the woman that came in in just the couple hours I was there. Told me my brakes would cost over 600 for just the front and that it was the only option and that I wouldn't get them cheaper anywhere else. Went to a different shop and paid just over half of that. Then idiot tried telling me my power steering rack was bad because my tires are choppy. They obviously have no idea what there talking about and are just trying to rip everyone off. I went to Herkimer NY for a simple oil change! Apparently not so simple anymore!! as soon as I got home I saw it was leaking... Went back and of course I need a new part - they probably broke it -- either way they certainly didn't see it was leaking before I left!! They charge me another $40 for the housing around the oil filter... I get in and it sounds like an exhaust leak to me but I was too pissed at sitting for another hour and a half to get it fixed so I went home. Tried to convince myself I was imagining it. This morning we started working and I got sick from what I thought was the exhaust smell. Went back to Monro and of course the manager wasn't there/ They told me to come back around 2:30 and they would look at it. I told them I wouldn't be done with work by then, they said come back tomorrow. I called a friend who works for Toyota and he said he would double check it but told me to go double check the oil since it had been leaking.... THEY LEFT THE FREAKING OIL CAP LAYING ON TOP OF THE VALVE COVER!!!!! We drove 5 hours for work with it like that today!! And it's low on oil now because the oil is all over EVERYTHING under the hood!!! Including my belts!! I can't even imagine what could've happened because of that today -- and what might STILL happen because of it!! NEVER AGAIN....... read more

I skidded on ice on the Thruway and slid into a snowbank. Half an hour later a tow truck driver had me back on the road and I was looking for a tire place because obviously my tires were bald. After searching online from a rest area I found Monro. It was about twenty-five minutes away because of weather and they were due to close in ten. Kyle agreed to wait for me to make it there. I was so nervous the entire way but knowing there was an end in sight calmed me down. When I got there Kyle told me he couldn't sell me any tires. My two front wheels were nearly new and my rears had more than half the tread left. I didn't need tires so he refused to sell me any. He reassured me that my tires were good and that good tires couldn't help anyway. I got back on the road calmer and glad to have met Kyle at Monro. read more

I brought my car here a couple months ago for an oil change, tire rotation and NY state inspection. I marked the tires in order with a number 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the rims with a marker. They pulled the car inside and I left for a couple hours. I returned back to Monroe to pick up the vehicle. I paid the bill and asked the guy behind the counter if there were any problems and if everything went well? He assured me everything was good and the job was completed fully with no problems. I walked out to the car and looked at the tires. They were still marked numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 and were still in order. The tires were never rotated. I popped the hood and pulled out the dipstick to see the oil level. The level was perfect and the oil was clean and new. They did change the oil. I next walked over and looked at the windshield to see if the new inspection sticker was put up. The new inspection sticker was up on the window. I headed back inside the shop and asked again if the tires were rotated? Again I was told yes by the guy behind the counter. He then yelled over to the guy who serviced my car. To come out to the front office. The guy who serviced the car came out and the guy behind the counter asked him if he rotated the tires? The guy who serviced the car gave me a yes sir. I told them both to come outside with me I wanted to show them something. They both follewed me outside and I showed them how I marked the rims in order and they were still in order and have not been rotated. The guy who serviced the car said he must have rotated tires on a different car and he was sorry, but didn't do my tires. The counter guy told me I can come back tomorrow and they would rotate them for sure. I told him "no because they will be rotating them today." They drove the car into the garage and it took about 15 minutes to rotate the tires. They also gave me a $10. coupon for my next visit. I told them no thanks I won't be coming back because they are dishonest. I'd recommend going somewhere else for tire rotations or at least marking the tires so this way when they cheat you, you can call them on it. read more

I am from Virginia and drove our Tesla X to Utica for the Boilermaker 15K and an opera. we stayed near the Tesla charging stations. When we pulled out of a restaurant lot, the lower control arm broke. We towed the car to Monro shop 62. Tony and Warren did everything they could to get Tesla parts because the nearest major tesla service station was in Paramus, New Jersey. While they did not succeed because Tesla is proprietary, I was allowed to keep the car on the lot for almost a week until I could arrange the long tow. They charged me nothing. I absolutely believe they could have fixed the car had they had access to parts and Tesla's cooperation. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the quality of service now that Monro is under new management with all new staff at this location. I will never return here. I've been bringing our vehicles to this Monro location since 2006, but not anymore. It's unfortunate that the changes in staffing have ruined what use to be a trustworthy and affordable place to bring your vehicle. Get ready to be disappointed and treated poorly by the new staff. I called with an emergency flat tire repair as I was traveling thru the area after 5 days of camping in the woods with my dog and just needed to get home 3 hours away. They fit me in very quickly, fixed my tire right up and everyone was very friendly and helpful! They were very friendly with some of the regulars, especially a nice elderly woman who takes her car there. Would definitely recommend for great service! read more

I am very displeased with the service that I didn't receive. I had scheduled an appointment at the Utica NY location for a simple oil change at 1 o'clock. I dropped off my car, the employee told me he would bring it in in a couple minutes, so I went shopping while I waited. An hour later I returned, even though I hadn't received a phone call, since I thought maybe they just forgot. Turns out he hadnt even taken my car in yet so when i walked in he said he got "caught up" and would take it in now. I did not have time for that and not even a courtesy call telling me what happened was ridiculous. He was helping people who just walked in and not someone who had made an appointment prior. I am so displeased, I normally go to Monro for oil changes but I don't think I will be taking my business here ever again after this incident. I drove all the way out there and wasted time, gas, and I desperately needed an oil change. He did not even apologize to me or anything. Absolutely Infuriating! read more
