Is this a club?! Honestly the most fun hookah lounge experience I've ever had. We came in on a Thursday night after finding this place on Yelp. The DJ that night played a pretty eclectic set of music -- Indian, Arabic, with a little bit Pitbull/American club music mixed in. They even brought out two amazingly talented belly dancers. Everyone was dancing afterwards and having a great time! Hookah was good -- they have a pretty good menu and the flavors didn't disappoint. The lounge was clean and comfy and had great lighting. Parking in the lot is a little hard to find, but street parking is available further down the street. Such a vibe!!

This is one of the best lounges in San Jose! The place is very clean and the service is fast and efficient. They make the best mixes and they also recommend flavors if you don't know what to order. They are located in a small plaza but there is always plenty of parking. I would definitely recommend visiting Monroe if you are in the area!

It's super chill! Came for happy hour, price is about $22-$27 depending on which hookah you get.. the music is great and all the tvs. This is def my spot to go to for hookah. Highly recommended!! I came here couple times and it never disappoints. I typically get the watermelon mint! Oh yeahhh

If you are looking for a place to kick-back and chill, this is definitely the spot. The hookah was good, they have a large selection but we just got our normal gum mint flavor. I didn't try any food and actually unsure if they serve food but overall it's not my regular spot since I don't live in the area, but definitely would swing by again if I am in the 408!

What an awesome way to unwind!!! Friday night. After work. Long week. This hookah spot will get you were you need to be for a relaxing weekend! Their hookah is top notch with see thru glass colorful setups and great flavors! We tried 4 different flavors this time ( Las Vegas, San Jose, Miami, San Diego) the flavor combos are named after city's :) the hookah was $25 for 3 people and refills are only $10, you really cant beat the price for a very clean environment and good music, (See Photos) P.S. No alcohol served here.

A new, hip hookah bar has finally come to town! I've been frequenting hookah bars in the Fremont area but I saw this lounge just opened up. I thought I'd take a drive to Santa Clara and check it out. A few of my friends and I came here on a Saturday night. The location is really great, just off the Stevens Creek exit. The lighting inside is really pretty with flat screen TVs everywhere playing the latest music videos, and pics of Marilyn Monroe everywhere (Hence Monroe Lounge). We tried a variety of hookahs flavors: Las Vegas, Miami, San Diego, and San Jose. All were a mix of different fruity flavors with mint. The hookahs hit smooth and they come to check on your coals pretty frequently. They even offer bottled soft drinks, tea, and snacks at the front counter. Each hookah is good for 3 people max, ~$25 And refills are about $10. It's a little pricier than other hookah bars but for the ambience and the quality hookahs I don't mind at all!

I'd like to call myself a hookah aficionado!!! Their glass hookah is on point, along with their flavors, ambiance, classiness and service. I'm really bad at names but the guy that's there on the weekdays greets you, makes suggestion and gets you coal before you have to ask. The ambiance of this place is super chill and gets crackin most days of the week! Happy hour here is a must. They play a good selection of music videos, great flavors and the price is not bad at all. It's actually cheaper than most hookah spots. Stop by this place during happy hour, or after shopping at Valley Fair or Santana Row! They're open late! Shout out to the staff there! Tried this place out for the first time and it honestly did not disappoint. I've always loved Red Room, their other hookah lounge in South San Jose. So when I heard that they opened another one, I wanted to go try and check it out. Their decor is so gorgeous I was very amazed. Their customer service is just as amazing. I checked out this place a couple weeks ago. They have a spacious tent, great set up and heaters near each private table. The owners were super welcoming and it was such a chill vibe. I love how they blast Reggaeton too!! Def recommended! read more

Heard of this place over ig so I decided to get friends together and go check it out. Walked in and I enjoyed the look and the vibes. All I can say is buda is absolutely amazing and very helpful and respectful. I watched him cater to others and he treats everyone the same bravo to him for being such a great soul. I'm not a hooka pro and I explained that to buda so he came over and explained it to me and bam now I'm a pro haha. After that it was pure fun and enjoyment. Buda keeps the place clean and organized something I always look for and he nails it. I will be definitely returning and sharing this location with others. Thank you buda for making our stay enjoyable and pleasant. read more

Went to this place with a friend on a Saturday night. Place was crowded but the cashier managed to find us seating. She found me a place on a couch where two customers were already sitting. She asked my friend to sit on the chair which was placed in-front of the couch next to a little table. We got our hookah after a while but within 5 mins the cashier arrived again and asked me to make room on the couch for one more person. She wanted my friend to move on the couch so she can have the chair to accommodate one additional customer. She then asked the two customers already sitting beside me to move over and make some room. She was desperately trying to somehow make room for one person and I could tell the two customers sitting next to me weren't too happy about it either. Me and my friend left the place without saying a word. If your place is already packed then is it really that important for you to make money from one additional customer? I can understand its ok for different parties to sit in one area but not that close to each other when it starts to invade your personal space. That was a very greedy and unprofessional act by the cashier. I rarely write any reviews but this place truly deserves a bad review. Never going to this place again and will make sure everyone in my circle doesn't go to this place either. read more

Was a regular before and during COVID just because it's near my house, but despite that, the service is always severely lacking here. Unaccommodating, apathetic and sometimes just plain rude. The smoke is mediocre and the menu is neither large nor spectacular. TVs always loud and obnoxious, blaring out unsavory content. Maybe ok if that's your thing and if you're one of their personal buddies then you might get better treatment, but otherwise I would much more highly recommend places like 40 Thieves or Fumee way higher, the service and experience is night and day better. read more

Went here late last night with a big group of friends. The hookah was good quality but the front desk needs to have some customer service skills. She was so rude when accommodating us. I I think her name was Zohra. No smile nothing, very bossy. There were a bunch of people just chilling behind the counter so we didn't even have her full attention as they were all socializing in that area. One of the people in our group didn't have a spot to sit and they didn't bother bringing a chair. We had to squeez in. I would come back maybe if I am in the area but if the owner wants the business to run then the front desk needs to be friendlier. Remember first expression is everything in a small business. read more

I went here for the first time last Friday night. It looks a bit off from the outside but once inside you fall in love with it. Its like finding a diamond in the rough. It's almost the same size as most hookah lounges but I really liked the ambiance of this one. Super chill vibe with a classy touch; neon lights, the chandeliers, and white sofas. I got here around 9PM & there were like three groups there.It got crowded around 10:30PM. read more

I been at this hookah lounge many many times with friends and is been a great place. But today Sunday was terrible!!! This is an adult lounge and the lady who was in charge she was playing cartoons movie instead of music. I can't believe it! We came here to have a good time not to watch kids cartoons.! I complain twice and she literally ignored me. This place totally lost my business! read more

This is my new favorite hookah lounge. One thing the bay area hookah scene lacks is class but man did this hookah lounge change that! They use all lavoo hookahs and the flavors hit smooth. The ambience is good, they have plenty of seating. Keep in mind you may have to share seating with someone when it gets really busy. We tried their new york flavour which is a mix of double apple and mint. It was really good. The service is really good too, they often come to change the coal and you dont need to call anyone. Will come back to this place again if I am in the area. read more

NEW HOOKAH LOUNGE ALERT. This place is amazing for many different reasons! The location is perfect, right next to Valley Fair Mall and Santana Row! The area definitely needed a hookah lounge and Monroe fits right in. The decor is really nice, with great customer service. They only use lavoo hookahs which makes the hookah smooth and last for a good time. They have two, big, clean bathrooms which is nice because usually every hookah lounge that I have been too only has one bathroom, and it's always dirty/gross! The music isn't too loud which I love because I can actually have a conversation with my friends without having to scream across the table. Many more reasons why this place is amazing but I'll leave that for you to see when you visit! Must come! read more

Best hookah lounge in town ! Just found this place located one block away from Santana Row. It's luxurious, clean with great hookah flavors. Unlike other lounges, this spot is newly renovated and is bright. I like the fact that's it's spacious and the bathrooms are squeaky clean. The staff are attentive and friendly. They always greet you with a smile. From multiple flat screen TVs to chandeliers and Marylin Menroe pictures in display I'm sold. Highly recommended. Will return. read more

Came here on a Saturday night with the wife and our friends and walked in and the place was busy, they had a belly dancer going around and she was trying to get everyone involved. The place had a nice ambiance and the music was cool but just my opinion mix in some more hip-hop. The staff were attentive and friendly and my friends and I will definitely come back to this spot. Convenient spot too because they are close to Valley Fair and Santana Row, so after a few rounds of drinking then the next stop is the hookah lounge down the block OOOORITE!!!! read more

Monroe hookah lounge is definitely my new favorite hookah lounge in San Jose. The decor, vibe, and the layout supersedes any other hookah bar in the bay area. The staff is welcoming and they are very engaging. I prefer traditional hookahs over glass hookahs, however, they make the best lavoo glass hookahs that last forever. They also carry cans as well that are not listed and you can just grab it from the fridge and pay at the register. There is a good amount of seating inside and there are a few tables outside as well. I ordered my stout and i let it sit as the foam settled and realized that the pour did not fill up the glass. I let the staff know and they fixed the issue by topping off my drink. The staff are very friendly and understanding. During my first visit, we ordered the ribs and brisket as well as a tri tip salad. The brisket was very tender and juicy. I usually avoid ordering briskets since most BBQ places in San Jose that I've been to have made them very dry. There was only one piece that wasn't juicy which I expected since it had no fat on it. It was still tender and not dried out. The ribs were also good. It was tender and didn't stick to the bone as much but it wasn't as tender where it just slides off the bone. The seasoning on the ribs was neutral and the BBQ Pit have their own special bbq sauce (regular and spicy) which goes well with the meat. My wife ordered the tri tip salad and she enjoyed it. I stole some of her greens to balance the meat and beer and the veggies were fresh. The salad came with cornbread but I didn't try it. On my second visit, I decided to get the tri tip woith a side of baked potato and coleslaw. The baked potato was $3 extra. The tri tip had really good flavor and texture. It ripped apart easily when pulling. The coleslaw was ok. I might get the mac and cheese or beans next time. My wife ate the baked potato and ate most of it. I tried a little bit where it was just the potato and it was not overcooked and not too undercooked. It was easy to scoop with the fork without too much effort. If you are in the area and craving for BBQ, I highly recommend trying this place. The portion is not as big as BBQ joints in Texas or KC but they are on par with the ones around San Jose. The pricing is decent and like I mentioned, is also on par to San Jose pricing. If you have a big group, there are plenty of tables to accommodate folks. The location is close to the highway so that's a plus. The staff is very helpful and will give you a good recommendation if you are debating on what to order.

Just missing a tad of acid like an arugula side w a citrus vinaigrette -pork belly was sticky and fabulous -deviled eggs with roe had a great texture -crème brûlée was spot on. Cold with perfect burnt top and creamy inside.

Great places to have a smoke with friends or alone. Tamana and the staff are very kind and helpful. The flavors and their own mixes are absolutely worth a try.
