Ordered take out and asked for DISCO FRIES. I got served waffle fries. Went back in and told this old guy with an accent that worked at the counter, that my order was wrong. He told me waffle fries were disco fries. And I said no, disco fries is regular fries with mozzarella and gravy. He said "on the menu disco fries is waffle fries" not true btw. It's a classic Greek diner; terrazzo floors, stainless steel, counter seating, tables and booths, and extensive menu. My partner ordered a Spanish omelet: chorizo, cheese, and salsa, home fries on the side. First try; both were way overcooked! The kitchen did better on the second try. The pastrami sandwich wasn't overstuffed. Fine with me. The staff comes by frequently to ask if everything is OK and if you need a refill. Plenty of free parking, clean bathroom, and comfortable seating. The middle-aged male cashier is a bit of a grouch. But I'm not there for entertainment. I'm there to eat. read more

Food, service, and their super accommodating I was in the area and remembered having a sakes meeting at this location a few years ago. I stopped in to have breakfast and work a bit I informed the waitress I needed to work and was not in a rush to leave. I placed my order which was NY eggs Benedict with home fries. One of my favorite diners in the area. I usually go with my partner and we split a cheeseburger deluxe and chicken Cesar salad wrap. Their chicken Cesar wrap is the best I've ever had! They do not skimp out on the dressing and the chicken is always juicy and flavorful. I love how they put a few onion rings with the cheeseburger deluxe. Most diners come around yo offer refills on beverage but no one ever offers refills at this place unless you ask and then it takes forever to get it by that time one has finished eating. Ordered a steak Caesar salad from this place and instead of Caeser dressing they put Greek dressing on it. I called to let them know I received the wrong dressing and the man who answered the phone was immediately rude and combative. He said "And? So? What do you want me to do about it?" He refused to try and rectify the situation and ended up hanging up on me when I asked him if he is this rude to all of his customers. I tried to eat the steak on top of the salad but the steak had zero flavor. I will not be ordering food from here again. When the fifth person in our party showed up, Luis came back and took out breakfast order. My husband & I went for Christmas Eve and was very disappointed to say the least. I ordered a1/2 of fried chicken basket with fries. The chicken was the tiniest chicken I have ever seen. The leg & wing were so small and overcooked and uneatable. And to top it off the French fries were cold. This used to be the go-to diner years ago. Not sure what happened, but the last few times we've been there with friends, the food and coffee was just not good. The coffee tasted sour (how is that possible?). The chicken salad sandwich lacked any flavor. The turkey burger was dry and had a bitter taste. The Egg sandwich (again, how is this possible?) seemed fine at first, but after ketchup was added, was terrible. Why?; The ketchup bottles all had horrid smelling contents. Not just one bottle either. We checked other bottles around the tables and they all smelled just awful. Even the diner bakery products, which used to be terrific, tasted stale. Looking back at the last few visits, I don't recall one of our party saying, "that was a good meal." I do recall disappointment. As far as ambience goes, unlike the old days when it was a lively place, the past few times felt dismal and like the place was about to close. Very few people, a deafening silence and dim lights. Nobody appeared happy. I hope this diner returns to the level of its glory days. I really do. But, for now, after so many years of going, I don't believe we will be returning. read more

On July 1st, I went with my family to the Mont Olympos Diner for breakfast. We were six people. I have been a customer at this diner for many many years. All orders were breakfast type items. It is hard for me to believe that each and every one of the six dishes were awful. Items were either cold, burned, or stale. I wanted to call the manager over immediately, but my children don't believe in that. We sat around picking at our food, and then left. Each plate was fully covered with returned food. As I thought about it, I realized, I am the customer who will go back. Once home, I called the manager, Herbert, to tell him the story. That would have been the end, had Herbert had not disappointed me so. Instead of telling me to let him know next time I come in, his sole reply was, "Thank you for telling me." This is the first time I've written one of these reviews, I hope anyone frequenting this establishment will enjoy their meal, but if not, return it and ask for your money back. read more

My toast was burnt. My bacon dry and waxy the emperor tomatoes were cut thick. Iceberg's was white (that's when is not ripe) and cut also thick. The French fries classy and the fountain soda was awful not mix right or the ice machine was not clean. The workers act like they were tired to be there even though we were there for lunch. This is a good spot to get real food with a group of people after shopping on central ave or going to Alamo movie theater. The chicken in the New Orleans salad was flavorful. Nice enough establishment and clean bathrooms...nice and attentive staff for a diner. I have seen better menu options but if you are hungry and want to sit this is a good option. Too many restaurants on central park ave have wait times and this is instant seating. They have a parking lot. It is a little dark in the lot at night but the area is safe. read more

A good diner that has slipped over the years. I remember this diner when it was called "7 Stars" and then they changed ownership to what it is today (though perhaps ownership changed hands again while they kept the name). The land it's on is nice and if you park in the right spots, you have a great view of Central Avenue. It's been years since I've been here, though more recently I came twice. I now have to question whether or not I will come back again. Twice more recently I came during the morning hours. Both times, the waitress was friendly, but the order came out wrong. Instead of bacon I got ham and instead of over-easy eggs, I got scrambled. And I got homefries when I didn't even want them in the dish. Really minor issues and I'm not sure if they stemmed from the waitresses or the kitchen. I'm not one to complain really over such simple things and although I expressed that it wasn't exactly what I ordered, I was able to tolerate it anyhow. But the point is screwing up relatively easy orders. The breakfast meals itself was ok - I've had better and I've had worse. I had expected better quality from here like in years past, but it seems like quality has gone down while prices have gone up. There is plenty of parking. Inside is very spacious and you should be able to get a seat most of the time. Overall a decent diner that used to be better. I gave it the generous 3rd star due to it being better than others, but that's also not saying too much at the same time. Had the staff not been as nice as they were, it would probably be 2. Again, I have reluctance to give this place another chance but maybe one day I will feel brave enough to try. Hopefully if that day comes, this place will have turned around - because it would be a shame if they regress even further back. read more
