Food was average, service was quick and efficient. The 2 stars is for how they addressed a mistake on a dish they served. My wife is a vegetarian and cannot handle any meat in her food. She ordered a vegetarian fajita. The skillet of grilled veggies had a few pieces of chicken on it. Not good but not the end of the world. She pointed the issue out to the waiter who brought out the manager because he spoke little English. Manager, who was sitting in a booth watching TV the whole time, comes over to look at her plate and says "oh yeah, a few pieces of chicken. Why you don't like protein in your food? Some chicken is good for you". No apology, no offer to replace the plate nor any sort of sensitivity to why someone might not be eating meat. Poor customer service! Now, we get there are limited choices for Mexican food in this town and so people will still eat here. But let this be a warning for how much they value a guest's dietary concerns. I also wonder what really goes on in their kitchen.

Great service, great team, and delicious food. Salsa was one of my favorites and I am so excited that the vegetarian fajitas were more than peppers and onions.

I have never had a bad experience at Monte Alban. There service is always quick and excellent. Their proportions are the best out of all the Mexican restaurants in Blue Ridge. The environment is always lively as well.

Ground beef taco, chalupa, chile relleno, ground beef enchilada & ground beef burrito with rice and beans. All for $10.99! Salsa was really good! Staff was great too!!

Great Mexican food and friendly service. The enchiladas, quesadillas and tamales are awesome!

Consistently good food, friendly service. Everytime I've been here it's almost as of they only have one waiter, as I see the same guy running around doing the work of 3 people. They should hire more waitstaff, spreading people so thin leaves something to be desired for service.

Not only it was on my birthday in which we celebrated. But our excursion to the mountains for the long weekend was a fantastic time. As you can see through the pictures we really went all the way my dish was as abundance of seafood that you could have with an amazing cioppino sauce that was also soppable with crusty garlic bread. The beverages were on point, they have a great menu of bourbons. Will not disappoint. As a surprise they gave me a flourless chocolate Bundt cake to take home with a candle. Being with the family is always a warm unforgettable experience. There is something to be said about being surrounded by people who care and love so much. I'm in bliss. Until next time ...

For drinks, the Sweater Weather was the clear winner--well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted. The combination of Bulleit rye, La Pommiere Calvados, and sorghum created a smooth, seasonal cocktail with nice depth. The Properly Poached was decent but didn't quite impress in the same way; the Brugal Añejo, pear liqueur, dark wildflower honey, and pink salt made for an interesting profile, though it leaned a bit flat compared to the first cocktail. We started with the broiled sweet crab dip served fondue-style with pita chips, which was a great opener. It was warm, creamy, and rich, with good crab flavor that made it easy to keep going back for more. For entrées, the blackened mahi fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. The mango pico added a nice brightness, and the cilantro crema tied everything together nicely on the corn tortillas. The smash burger was another solid choice--juicy double patties with melted American cheese, crispy onion rings, house sauce, and house-made pickles that added a great tangy crunch. Service was ok waitress took a bit to bring the drinks and then the food took about 30+ minutes luckily we were entertained by talking to locals that we really weren't concerned. Overall, the restaurant delivers a pleasant upscale-casual dining experience with well-executed comfort favorites and creative cocktails. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the crab dip and the Sweater Weather cocktail and the fish tacos those were my overall favorites. Prices are mid range. Note that the restaurant as most restaurants in the Blue Ridge close early.

(Actually anywhere and I've been a lot of places around the country as well as Europe). I usually eat at the bar because the bartenders, Matt, Anthony & Kyle are awesome! They make all kinds of cocktails I've never heard of or tasted (and if you don't like it? They'll fix another to your liking) Food? Awesome! I'm a beef eater and had the filet Pittsburg style. Warm pink center, charcoaled outside. Not many restaurants have the heat to pull this off, but they do. The chef is from New York and knows his sea food! The manager Tosha and owner Patrick are awesome! Atmosphere, camaraderie are extraordinary. I could go on but I think you get the idea. .

Beyond her, sadly, ROE. Is just an extremely over priced restaurant. Our oysters were delicious, but at $3.25 each they should have included a couple of pearls. I ordered the Shellfish- Roll. It was Lobster tonight. It was over cooked, dry and way over seasoned. Good Lobster only needs butter guys! Keith ordered the whole Pompano. We knew it was a whole fish but didn't count on some of the internal organ juices being included. The top side of the fish was delicious- plate side was soaking in jerk and fish gut juices. Great location, great vibe- just way too expensive for what you get.

My friends and I came here for brunch during a visit to Blue Ridge. The ambiance and service were…read morereally wonderful and we were excited for our meal since it was a bit of a splurge for us. The food is the reason for the reduction in stars. We started with the shrimp and scallop fondue, which sounded so much better than it tasted, and the toasted bread it's served with was heavily salted and not enjoyable. My friends had the ribeye and said it was mediocre. I had the shrimp biscuit and only ate a few bites. The BBQ sauce was heavily salted and not pleasant, and the cheddar cheese just seemed like it didn't belong. As a cheese lover, this is the first time in over 60 decades that I've actually removed the cheese from a dish. I took the leftovers with me since I hate wasting food and ate the biscuit with some butter and the shrimp by themselves the next day. It still wasn't very good, but at least I didn't waste it. On the plus side, the cinnamon rolls were absolute delicious and were a bargain at $8 for six! They were the highlight of our meal. We also enjoyed the creme brûlée very much. Since the restaurant is pricey and so many of the dishes were a disappointment, we all agreed that we probably won't return to give it another try. We don't want to risk spending that much money again on a not-so-great meal.

The gal behind the counter was very prompt and courteous and answered my questions about options on the menu. There is a big stove across the bar so you can see some of the cooking that gets done. The only issue with that is the heat...I didn't want my frosty beer glass to warm up while I enjoyed one of their local brews. I'd rather sit away from the cooking action. I ordered the crab cakes which came with coleslaw. The crab cakes had a nice sauce decorating the top of each cake. I asked for more because the crab cakes were a bit more bread filled than crab filled. I know I am spoiled with west coast Dungeness crab as you get a lot of chunks and not well flaked blue crab, but I really was hoping for more crab than I got for the money. The coleslaw was just okay. It was a nice mayo based dressing but lacked a tangy/sweet combo that I just adore. I am not impressed enough to return.

The staff was absolutely amazing... so kind and patient with us while we figured everything out. First impressions matter, and they made ours a great one. They also have plenty of seating, both inside and outside. We chose to sit outside--even though it was a little windy, it was still really nice. What stood out even more was that the staff still checked on us while we were outside and even went back in to grab napkins we forgot. That level of service doesn't go unnoticed! I built my own bowl with half jasmine rice and half quinoa, spicy chicken and spicy shrimp, cilantro, sweet chili sauce, and topped it with green onions, red cabbage, red onions, and carrots. I added kimchi--and let me just say, that was the BEST kimchi I've ever had. Even with everything in the bowl, it wasn't overly spicy--just perfectly balanced and soooo good. All the flavors blended together so well. I left completely full (with leftovers because I couldn't finish it all!). My significant other couldn't decide between two bowls... so he got both (no regrets ). He had the Tuna Boy--which he loved so much he finished the entire bowl--and added seaweed salad on top. He also ordered the Ramen Bowl, and it was just as impressive--beautiful presentation and full of flavor. The broth alone was delicious.
