Food was excellent and so was the service. I ordered a Texas margarita that was awesome. I jad no issues with parking. I will be back!!!!!

Absolutely nothing special. Food was ok, service was pretty good. Margaritas (Frozen) were average. Fajitas were ok, the seasoning on the meat was meh. I'd say the speed of service was the most notable part of the experience, it was very quick. Go there if you can't think of anything better to do, but don't go out of your way. read more

It had been awhile since I'd eaten here, but I was craving Mexican food for Mother's Day and my husband offered to get takeout. I asked for a chile relleno and a chicken tamale. The chicken tamale was pretty good. The chile relleno was NOT a chile relleno. It looked like the bottom of a bell pepper that someone had filled with some indeterminate cheesy goo. A chile relleno is a roasted poblano chile, stuffed with melted cheese (and sometimes meat), battered or coated in flour and fried. I don't know if they were out or what, but I sure would've rather had the option of getting something else than this pathetic they were attempting to pass off. Next time I'll insist that he go to La Salsa; I've had their chile relleno more recently and it's good. read more

I was not going to post this video. I had even contemplated on rather if I was wrong, and if I was out of line. After much thought I had to post this incident. Yesterday: My sister Rashunda Rainey, and Lincoln McMeen and my mom decided to out for Mexican. This is a restuarant I loved going to often, because of their friendly service and food. So I knew that this dining experience would simply be like the others. Its started out wrong. This time. 1. It took 20 minutes just to get menus and place our orders after we were seated. 2. Lincoln's order was wrong, not once but twice. Even though this is a meal he orders every time. The waiter told him that the meal he ordered is how it is prepared. Not to mention we where there just a week before . 3. The entire area, of our table was covered with flies. ( I get it, one or two flies black people can handle, but when two or more flies. Touch your food at this point what are you paying for. YOUR FOOD, OR THE FLIES BAIT) 4. My niece ordered chicken tenders and fries ( they were fried too hard, and tasted like fish) Out of all of things gone wrong, the only thing that we wanted to tell our waiter about was the flies and bugs at our table. Its disgusting.. let me add that it was my meal that they wanted to land on. We told the waiter, he eventually comes back 10-15 minutes later to explain that there is no manager on duty and that we would have to wait for them to get the restuarant to rectify one meal. Uno. One meal a lousy 14.28 meal.... one meal. There was no disagreement, even though it smelled inconvenient, the waiter left. I went up to the register to pay my bill, and waited another 7 minutes for someone to take MY MONEY. Soon after a young lady comes and ask me how my meal was and I told her, she seemed sympathetic and said I can take care of it for you. The young lady left and I watched her speak with another staff member. Another 5 minutes later she returns, but this time she is on the phone, which seems like the manager. After waiting, she finally tells me that the manager says that flies come inside of the restuarant from outside and that it's not a problem for him. HER WORDS EXACTLY. See that might be true if this restaurant didn't have a total of 4 doors before you even come in. Sad part is that would also be.true if this was possibly 1 or two flies. Not a big deal. But what I dont understand is how this is not an infestation problem when 10 or twelve flies. Yeah, I started to get upset. Things took a turn even more when a white woman comes up to me. Taps me on my shoulder and places a 20 dollar bill in my faces. And tells me I will give you this 20$ if you could shut the f$&# up, and get your big ass out of here. And throws the money in my face. Then she follows us outside. Looking for us to retaliate. She wanted us to hit her so we.could go to jail, and have an assault charge. Please believe me when I tell you I wanted to know that family.dollar make up off her face. But I have a family that depends on me, and a bond money I don't want to have to spend. This is the video my sister didn't know she was recording. Another white woman not minding her own business decides to jump in and states she's going to call the police. That's the problem. If this was a white family who experienced the same thing, and speaks up to state something is wrong, the situation would have been corrected, quickly. Is it because I'm African American that I dont have the right to be inclined to feel as though I have been treated unfairly, or something was handled unprofessionally. I give my money to this business, I tip more than I should and the only thing that they could tell is to not come back. For a moment I felt embarrassed to let myself get so upset. But I thought about it and I'm positive that wherever you spend your money you deserve to be treated with respect. I beg you please don't.go to there place of business. It's your standard, below average, Douglasville fare. I got a quesadilla, chips, and queso to go. When I got to the pickup area, the hostess was talking to someone else (presumably another employee), and the conversation went on for quite some time. You'd have figured she'd have said "I'll be with you in just a moment" or something like that, but she didn't acknowledge me at all, which I thought was a bit weird. But whatever, I'm more about the food than the service. The food wasn't great, though. It wasn't even good. I feel disappointed and unfulfilled. The quesadilla wasn't even cut. They just sort of...gave it to me, as is. The cheese on the quesadilla tasted artificial and strange. The chips seemed a bit stale, as well, but I figured it wouldn't matter since I'd be dipping them into queso. But the queso also tasted strange. It tasted more like heavy cream than cheese, and had an odd sweetness to it. I threw it away after a few bites, which was a shame because I opted to get a large to share with someone else. I won't be coming back. I would say that I don't know how places like this stay in business, but it seems like Douglasville allows mediocre restaurants such as this one to thrive. Oh well. read more

Food was ok, lacking manners is what got me. While getting the salsa, server/busboy throw it on the table and walked away after I had said hi. Then there were no napkins. my son received his food but no silverware. Waited awhile for the server to even come to ask. A total of 4 times did the guy came to ask if we needed something. Food at Monterrey is consistently excellent! Especially the sopa de pollo, the Mexican chicken soup. Service is fast and courteous. Try the queso as an appetizer! Simply wonderful. We always stop here on out way to Atlanta. Everything is freshly prepared and delicious. read more

This is absolutely the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. The food is very bland and not authentic by a long shot. I guess any body can open a can of refried beans and put it on a plate and say it's Mexican. I asked waiter to not put any sour cream on my food. He agreed and when he delivered my plate guess what? My food had sour cream all over it. Service is probably worse then the food, if that's possible. If you can't understand your customers or aren't even willing too, don't try to have a business. I placed a to-go order last night for 2 ACPs which is arroz con pollo. Pollo=chicken. Along with a side of beans and a queso dip. The lady tells me 10 minutes which is great. I get there in 15, walk up to the bar and my food is ready. My boyfriend notices that the tab says 2 ACCs which is arroz con camorones which is SHRIMP. I did not order that and when I tried to explain to the bar tender who I'm assuming took the order over the phone, she told me 3 times that I ordered shrimp and not chicken before finally walking away and fixing it. Or so I thought. I sit there for 25 minutes (over double the time she told me it would take to make our order in the first place.) I FINALLY get my food and paid for it after having to wait AND not even being offered anything to drink while having to wait. Then I go outside and glance in the bag and they've given me a side of rice instead of my queso dip. So I walk inside, sit down at the bar where the girl had her back turned towards me for 10 minutes while 4 other employees stare at me waiting and don't bother to help me nor tell the bartender that I'm waiting behind her. Finally she turns around and helps me. I leave. I get home, open my food and these idiots have literally put 5 pieces of cut up chicken into the plates with shrimp. I DID NOT ASK FOR SHRIMP. WHY THE ACTUAL FUCK WOULD YOU ADD CHICKEN TO A PLATE OF SHRIMP THAT I DID NOT WANT? So on top of having to wait 20 extra minutes for what I thought was then re-making our dinners the way they should have been, these people literally cooked 1 PIECE OF CHICKEN FOR BOTH PLATES AND ADDED 5 small pieces to each of the 2 plates that were supposed to be chicken only. The food was cold and disgusting at this point. Would never give my business to these people who clearly don't want it nor deserve it. Learn how to run a business. If you have customers waiting, fucking talk to them. Oh, and maybe giving them what they actually ordered would be nice. Can't believe they charged me full price for this bullshit service. I usually order from Monterray on Fairburn Rd. and assumed they were the same but boy was i wrong. The only positive to this restauraunt is the diversity in menu, it offers american fare for the folks who may not have a taste for mexican. I ordered a 20pc mild wings, chicken fajita quesadilla, rice and a chile relleno. The 20pc wings were decent, I wasnt thrilled about the fact i had to go back inside after realizing the tray wasnt all the way closed and i had a bag full of hot sauce. The waitress seemed annoyed that i asked for another bag and some napkins to wipe it off (so i wouldnt get the white seats in my brand new car dirty). The fajita quesadilla was just ok..it was a bit salty but not unedible. I normally order this and a chile relleno from fairburn so i am comparing my typical order. The rice was pretty good..tasty and fluffy. I was sorely disappointed..no..DISGUSTED..by the "chile relleno". It was the most disgusting excuse i have ever encountered. I dont even think it was actually meat in there, it looked like dog food. I couldnt even eat it so it was thrown out..i wont be going back. read more

This is definitely a place worth stopping at. They tend to get pretty busy at night, so I recommend them more during lunch hours, but they are great, and one of the only places I've been to that actually seasons their chicken so the flavor is excellent.
