    Essential AYCE

You have to order some items from the iPad and the rest is self serve. For $39.99 you can't beat the price and quality. The service is top notch. Our server was clearing dishes and so attentive. Note* container with cheese is NOT corn cheese. It's just cheese. I made that mistake Update: I took off one star because their bathrooms were pretty unkept. There was toilet paper everywhere on the ground, the trash cans in the stalls were overflowing and one of the soap dispensers was broken and sitting off to the side

We visited Moohan again and it was amazing again! Service was great and the available options were wonderful. Come hungry and eat as much as you want for 100 minutes! Parking is at the City Center or at the Equitable Lot. Remember to take a picture of your license plate so you can get your parking validated.

My new favorite Korean BBQ, hands down I don't even live in LA, but Mohan has secured a permanent spot on my list -- if I'm ever back in the city, I'm making a point to stop here again. What I ordered: All-you-can-eat Korean BBQ -- meat after meat, and every bit of it excellent. Top notch. Attentive, quick to refill and swap out the grill when needed, and just overall made the experience even better. The melted cheese on the grill is genius. I've never seen that idea before, and it completely elevated the whole experience -- such a simple touch but it made a real difference. The buffet-style, grab-as-much-meat-as-you-want setup is also smart -- no waiting around, just a steady flow of great food. Very reasonable for AYCE, especially considering the quality of the meat. It doesn't feel like you're compromising on either portion or taste to get a good deal here. Excellent meat, smart concept, beautiful restaurant, great value -- this is what Korean BBQ should be. What a place, seriously.

First time here and we had such a great experience! Made a reservation for a Friday night and it was pretty packed, so I definitely recommend reserving ahead of time. Parking was super easy with a parking garage, and they validate for a few hours for free, which was a huge plus! We got the Essential Course ($40/person), which comes with a good amount of meat + the buffet. The meat quality was really good, and there was a nice variety to choose from. A lot of the meat from this course is self-serve, but you can still order a few additional items and drinks through the tablet. Our server Andrew was amazing! He was very attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed. I really enjoyed the ambience inside, and they even play EDM, which I loved! Overall, we had a really good experience and will definitely be back. This is now one of my favorite AYCE spots!

We made a same-day reservation around 7:30 PM for 9 PM and arrived around 8:50. Our table was already being prepared for us, so the whole process was super easy and smooth. I really liked how simple it was to choose which menu you wanted on the iPad. We chose the Essential Course so the meats and side dishes were mostly self-serve, which makes it really convenient to get exactly what you want, whenever you want it, without having to constantly wait for someone to come by. The meat quality was really good, and all of the side dishes we tried were pretty solid as well. Our server, Andrew, was also really kind and attentive. Overall, it was a great experience with good food and a convenient setup.

I lived in La my whole life! This place is my favorite Korean bbq spot! I've never had issues with parking They have a lot and offer validation! Every-time I come I never wait long. Love how easy and seem-less the whole experience is! They have a hot bar, banchan bar, and my favorite self service meat freezer. You can still order meat on the kiosk but I prefer the frozen! Also love that they have gopchang! Will always be on my list!

Saw this spot on a "Best of LA: AYCE KBB". I've been to most of the others on the list and thought we should try something new. Take it from people who eat a lot of KBB, this place is GOOD! We got the premium level menu for 5 people, Great quality meat and extremely attentive service. Totally worth the drive from the SFV. Coming back and bringing others.

PARKING Free parking for 3 hours with validation at City center by South Marisa (around Hmart exit). Make sure to park at either Equitable or City Center for the validation. You don't need a ticket upon parking and you will just let the host know at the end of dinner your license plate number. :) SERVICE Great service! Attentive and quick to change the grills. We made reservations so we're immediately seated. FOOD Order on the iPad up to 10 items at a time. Lots of meats and sides including steamed egg, kimchi and seafood pancakes, handrolls, udon, and more! The premium was $60 which was pretty good. We enjoyed the beef tongue and short rib. The ribeye was limited 1 per person but it was not marbled at all. There's also lots of buffet food that's included like Takoyaki, chicken wings, sauces, potato, and more self serve meats. PRICE For $60, it's a pretty good value! Come during happy hour and there's also discounts on beers and cocktails. INSIDE Clean with plenty of seating. Would come back here again if in the area!

Parking for Moohan? They provide validation at two parking structures (one free, one $3 / 4h). My friends and I visited on a Tuesday night, so there was no wait. We went with the premium menu and made it just in time for Happy Hour (before 8pm). We were allowed to order 4 plates at a time and ordered on the tablet at the table. While waiting for meat and drinks, there is a self-service station for salad, Korean side dishes, appetizers, and some fried foods. Some cheaper, frozen cuts of meat are also available for self-service. The premium meats eventually arrived, and the staff members helped us cook it. There wasn't much communication, and it was a little awkward figuring out if we could cook the meats ourselves or not. At times, the staff weren't always keeping tabs, and the meat ended up burning. Other than the mismanaged charred bits, the meat was tasty, and we were salivating for more orders! Note that they are very firm on the time limit, though. It felt a little rushed and passive aggressive, too. There was no warnings on last order, so you'll have to keep track yourself. Once time runs out, they drop off the check by the table. After a certain point, they're really pushy on getting you out within the time, so make no plans to linger for even 5 minutes!

Came with two friends over the weekend and went with the premium option. The wait was long as the restaurant was packed, however, once seated ordering was easy on their iPads and I thought the premium meats were noticeably better quality than the regular options. Highlights for me were the La galbi, prime beef brisket, and prime boneless short rib - though everything tasted good after a few rounds of somaek The self serve banchan and sides also seemed to be fresh as nothing tasted like it had been sitting out for too long.

    Variety of meat
    Eric W.

The quality of the meats was good but not the best. The marinated galbi is flavorful without being overly sweet, and the pork belly is my favorite. Everything was fresh, and the side dishes were flavorful. The service was ok. Grill wasn't changed regularly. We had to ask to get it changed and that was also the time they cleared out empty plates. Majority of the meat were self serve on the open bar. Tables were kind a small and they were closed to each other. When we left, no thank you from the waitress. Maybe it was just her personality. Be aware the time limit is 100 minutes for AYCE. They charge $10 per person for every additional 30 minutes. They don't warn you if you reached the 100 minutes. So keep an eye of your time or you can ask the server how much time left.

Honestly, the best standard tiered KBBQ! My family and I came here to celebrate Father's Day and it was super easy to get a reservation. Since we were a table larger than 7, we had to call in to make a reservation. Their website says that you have to email them but since it was during the week of, we decided to test our luck by calling in and it worked. We came 10 minutes before our dinner reservation and we were checked in and seated within 5 minutes. Since it was a Friday, they have a really good happy hour for alcohol! We also decided to do the basic tier which was $39.99 since it was our first time! It was honestly, one of the best standard tier KBBQ I've had. The standard tier had everything that satisified our craving, ranging from brisket, pork, galibi. Unfortunately, there isn't a seafood option within the standard tier so if you're the type of person that wants seafood with your meats, this won't satisfy your craving. On the tablet at your table, you're only allowed to order 3 meats but they have a buffet on the side where there are the other meat options and side dishes! I really enjoyed the buffet style on the side since you can refill your banchan and side dishes such as tteokbokki, fried tempura, mandu, and much more. The unfortunate thing about this place is that you're ACTUALLY on a time limit of 100 minutes. Majority of the other KBBQ establishments I've been to don't enforce it but this place definitely does. They have a rule of charging $10 per person per a certain time (website can clarify). Since we were a table of 9, we were split into two tables with two different grills and after the 100 minutes, our grills were taken away which is honestly a GOOD thing since we don't have to get charged per person for exceeding the time.

Incredible service. Great food. Servers replaced our grill before we could even ask for it.

Since I moved into the Silver Lake hipsterhood over 15 years ago, the 4100 Bar quickly became my local watering hole of a quasi dive bar. As I liked to say, "I rolled myself down the hill and later climbed my way back up" after a trip to this establishment. Formerly a distinguished dive bar called The Detour (which I also went to back in the day), it was overhauled and reopened under new ownership in 2001. Since then, it has become a staple in the community and celebrated its 25th anniversary as of this review. Although it's felt like I've been here 4100 times, would I continue to visit this corner neighborhood bar!? PURCHASE(S) Arts District Brewing 4100 Blonde Golden Ale Beer 5.00% ABV 16floz Draft ($5.00 HH): Rich amber color, light malty aroma, light body, light grainy malty sweet flavor, smooth finish, and light malty sweet aftertaste. West Coast Negroni ($10.00 HH): An interesting "beertail" that seemingly worked with its relaxing smooth taste; but honestly, I preferred the two separate to fully enjoy both. Arts District Brewing Traction IPA Beer 7.50% ABV 16floz Draft ($9.00): Bright amber color, light hoppy aroma, light body, light hoppy piney flavor, crisp smooth finish, and light hoppy aftertaste. Boilermaker (4100 Blonde) with Vodka Shot ($10.00 HH): I never understood the thought behind a liquor shot served with a beer whether it was done as a shot before or after the beer or dropped in such as the more famous Irish Car Bomb. From a marketing and sales perspective at a bar, it made sense, and maybe it got patrons drunk faster. However, from a taste perspective, it really was a waste of time and neither one or the other offered much as a pair. Boilermaker (4100 Blonde) with Whiskey Shot ($10.00 HH x3): See above. SERVICE Initially met by the front door security who checked IDs, I casually approached the bar and was greeted by a young man who easily and quickly took my orders throughout the time I was there. There wasn't any table service, so please bring your empties back to the bar and order another. Once it was time to close out, it was easy-peasy - cheers! PARKING (Varied: FREE this instance): I simply walked the five minutes from my place. Otherwise, there appeared to be some spots along the main drags of Sunset Blvd., Manzanita St., and all surrounding roads (please read all posted street signs) - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A divey ramshackled-like building with a central four-sided bar, booths along all of the walls, two well-known photobooths (b/w 4pc strip $7.00), a pool table, and simply just randomness of decorations inside. Outside, there were several pool tables, a ton of communal wooden benches, and colorful tarps that shielded you from the rain and sun. Inside, minimal natural lighting entered through the windows and doors while a random assortment of electric ceiling and hung lights filled the rest. Out on the patio, there was plenty of natural lighting while a similar electric lights situation was present and the many street lights. I didn't recall seeing any TVs while music from a jukebox played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Why it took me so long to post a review for the 4100 Bar I had no idea, but I'm glad I finally did. They had a decent selection of beers on tap and liquor for cocktails or shots, no served food so bring your own (they also had catering and food trucks at times), the prices were comparable, the vibe was very kick-back, and the service was straightforward. They generally checked all of the boxes I hoped to find in a dive bar. Furry family members were allowed on the outdoor patio (water bowls available), there were Happy Hour specials (Daily until 8pm and MO-TU 10pm-12am), and almost certain nightly entertainment such as trivia, music, and more were available. I found very complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $70.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

My first bar experience in the US, and unfortunately it left a lasting bad impression…read more The security staff were very friendly, we got in without any issues, and we didn't have to wait long in line. The bar itself has a cozy atmosphere, and the photo booths are a great touch. We first ordered drinks from a female bartender who was friendly, professional, and served us quickly. The restrooms were clean and spacious. Having only two stalls for such a busy venue isn't ideal, but it could always be worse. Later, we went back to order another round. An older white bartender wearing glasses started serving us, and while he was preparing our drinks, he was also taking another group's order at the same time. I completely understood that since the bar was very busy. We ordered two Whiskey Sours and one of the bar's signature cucumber cocktails. The Whiskey Sours were served in margarita glasses without ice instead of traditional whiskey glasses. I assumed they had simply run out of the proper glassware because the bar was packed, so we didn't complain. The real problem started when it was time to pay. The bartender placed the payment terminal in front of the other group instead of us, and they accidentally paid for our order. Instead of acknowledging that it was his mistake, he immediately acted as if it was somehow our fault. We tried to resolve the situation calmly and even offered to pay the other group's bill and buy them an extra drink to make up for the price difference (their bill was about $31, while ours was around $45). When it came time for us to pay, I chose not to leave a tip because of the multiple mistakes that had already happened. At that point, the bartender completely lost his temper. In the middle of a packed bar, he raised his voice and started yelling at us, saying it was disrespectful not to tip him. He also complained that we had ordered drinks that weren't on the regular menu and that making them had taken him "so much time." As a bartender myself, I know exactly how long it takes to make a Whiskey Sour, and it's certainly not an unusually time-consuming cocktail. If preparing it had been a problem, he could have simply told us before taking our order. He continued shouting that the bar was extremely busy, called our behavior "disrespectful" and "f***ed up," and finally told us he would never serve us again. We were honestly shocked. This was the first time we've ever experienced someone reacting this aggressively simply because we chose not to leave a tip, especially after such poor service. I've worked in customer service for years, and I always tip when I receive good service. I would have had absolutely no problem leaving a generous tip if our experience had been pleasant. After that confrontation, we no longer felt comfortable staying in the bar, so we left immediately with a very negative impression. Looking back, I wish I had read the reviews beforehand. It seems that many of the negative reviews mention the exact same bartender. A truly disappointing experience.

Even after all these years, this place could still get pretty crowded (the space isn't huge so that helps). They also have the Dodgers games on when available so that's great if you want to grab a drink in the area and don't want to miss the game. On my most recent trip, I came here after having dinner with a couple of friends in the area for a after dinner drink/ night cap. Ordered the martini and it was good! Just a great place in the area to meet up with friends to grab a cocktail if you wanna low-key place that has reasonable prices for good cocktails.

After work, we were pretty stressed and just wanted to grab a drink. The front door host, Nate, was…read moreincredibly nice and honestly made our day. He was friendly, welcoming, and gave us a great first impression. However, our experience afterward was disappointing. We waited nearly 20 minutes to be seated and another 20-30 minutes before anyone took our order. I understand that restaurants get busy, and we were trying to be patient because we could see the staff was overwhelmed. When we finally got our beer, I told our server, Noah, that I could pour it myself if that would help. Instead of explaining the situation politely, he responded with attitude and said, "You know I can't serve you guys, right?" I apologized, but then he told us, "Nah, you guys have to leave." This was frustrating after waiting so long just to place an order. We were never rude or disrespectful to the staff, so the interaction felt unprofessional and unnecessary. I completely understand being busy, but customer service should still be respectful. Unfortunately, this experience left a negative impression despite the great welcome we received from Nate.

It was such a nice spot to sit, take in the view, and enjoy our drinks. The decor was beautiful and gave the place a stylish but comfortable feel. The young man in the front that checked our ID was so friendly . The drinks were really good and definitely made the experience even better. It's a great place to come and relax, enjoy some drinks, and take in the atmosphere. Overall, I really liked the vibe, the window seating, and the drinks, and I would definitely come back again.

We notified staff immediately, but the response was surprisingly indifferent. We were told that phone thefts "happen," which wasn't reassuring at all. We also asked for help reviewing security camera footage since we were seated directly in front of a camera, but days went by with little to no communication despite multiple attempts to reach the bar through DMs and email. Whether or not the theft itself could have been prevented, the lack of urgency, communication, and concern for customers left a terrible impression. If phone theft is something staff are already aware happens, I would expect much more proactive support when a guest becomes a victim. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this bar based on how the situation was handled. If you visit, keep an extremely close eye on your belongings.
