Emailed the night before for a table of 7 on a Friday at 6:45pm and Moohan was able to accommodate. The menu has two choices between the essential, which has a good selection, or the premium which has higher quality meats. The whole party can only have one essential or the premium so we decided on the essential since they had some good marinated Galbi and pork jowl. You can order specific items on the tablet screens as well as the cocktails but for the other items, you just go to the bar to grab what you want to cook. You will need to grill your own meats but that isn't an issue and the servers do come by often to check and change grills when needed. I thought the quality was pretty good even for the essential menu and the price was fair at $39.99 for adults and children up to age 11 at half off. I would recommend coming down here to enjoy some good Korean bbq for good value compared to the Korean restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley. read more

Been to Moohan 5 times already in two months since my family and I loved it so much! The meat is good quality and the cooked food buffet is so delicious. A lot of the meats are already in a fridge where you can get it yourself so it's really nice to just get as much meat as you want. The service is amazing as well. Everyone that I have interacted with there is so nice and quick when it comes to cleaning up after you when you're done with dishes and other things as well as bringing you your orders. Most Korean bbq's will help you with cooking here and there but this place will make sure you're doing it right. So if it's your first time don't be shy just ask for help! Moohan's on the expensive side but you'll see from your first bite that the quality is definitely worth the money. Brought family over and they were immediately skeptical about the price. Nonetheless we ordered premium and just the brisket had us in awe. Hard to have cheaper Korean bbq's after meat this good! All premium meats are heavily marbled and you'll want a long nap after for sure. I also love that their fried rice contains pieces of meat. If you ask me I think it's a smart way of using all their meat. The self serve bar is beautiful and well organized. The decor feels very exclusive and the dining area is well equipped with proper ventilation. The only item I didn't find to be all that great were the scallops, the seasoning is very salty. If you are Korean, DO NOT GO HERE! We were really disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. One of the biggest issues was that there was a limit on how much meat customers could order, but this was never mentioned anywhere on the menu. If there is an ordering limit, it should be clearly stated before customers place their orders. Finding out only after ordering felt misleading and left us feeling frustrated. On top of that, the quality of the meat was far below our expectations. The meat was tough, lacked freshness, and had very little flavor. Considering the price, we expected much better quality, but what we received was disappointing. The poor quality of the meat made the meal much less enjoyable and did not justify the cost. Transparency and food quality are two of the most important aspects of a dining experience, and unfortunately this restaurant fell short on both. Clearly communicating ordering policies on the menu and improving the quality of the meat would make a significant difference. I've been to Moohan several times now and always had a great experience! Korean BBQ is one of my comfort foods and if I'm going to do AYCE, Moohan is one of the best spots in Koreatown. They do take reservations which is a nice bonus for an AYCE KBBQ spot but I'm an old lady that eats early and never has a problem walking in & getting a seat. Service is always great here, very friendly & helpful. WAY more on top of switching out grills than I've ever seen which is great for keeping smoke levels down. That being said, it is still Korean Barbeque so there will be smoke lolz. I've done both the Premium and Standard sets here and enjoyed both. Their LA Kalbi is pretty delicious and get 10000000x orders if you do the premium, truly great marinade on this meat. But trust that even with the standard set, meat feels high quality and taste. You just have more options of even fancier meats if you do the Premium set, like the aforementioned LA Kalbi but also an upgraded Wagyu Bulgogi which is great and seasoned shrimps. As far as banchans, you mostly hit the buffet for those though I appreciate the rice paper already on the table. You can actually get more rice paper at the buffet if needed. Moohan is gonna get you with everything at that buffet! More meats are up there but also so many yummy dishes. It's going to rightfully distract you from the meats, great little buffet. Establishment is busy, clean and loud (indoors). Staff was professional and courteous. This is an AYCE kbbq location that has a premium and an essentials option. Their buffet has a decent selection. I would not recommend grabbing too much, as stomach capacity should be reserved for the meats, specifically the 'special' items that are limited quantities. Quality is excellent. Keep in mind that you are restricted to ordering 10 items at a time, with only one order every 5 minutes (for proteins). This is a lot of food, so be careful not to over order. Overall we had a good experience. While we were there the fire alarm was going off fairly often and towards the end of our meal the power tripped with our grills remaining off. While it was unfortunate that our meal was cut short, management was very reasonable in resolving the issue and working together with us. The restaurant has a clean, modern vibe and the ambiance was really nice. We went with the Essential Menu ($39.99), which offered a great variety of meats. You order apps and meats from a tablet, and there's a buffet section for banchan, sauces, hot foods, and extra meats. Meat quality was solid for the price. My favorites were the prime brisket, marinated galbi, pork jowl, and wagyu belly. Dining time is limited to 100 minutes, but the service was on point. Huge shoutout to our server she cooked all the meats for us, which you don't always get at AYCE spots. Definitely keeping this spot on my list for future KBBQ cravings. They originally told us the wait would be over an hour and a half, but the hostess was really nice and somehow we ended up getting seated in under 30 minutes, which definitely saved the night. The meats felt premium, and what really stood out to me was the energy of the place. It had a lively buzz without feeling over the top, which worked well for a birthday dinner. The self-serve bar was a nice addition too. Plenty of variety beyond just the meat - from banchan and hot food to little extras that make it easy to pace yourself between rounds. There's a lot of good food there, but I try not to fill up on baked potatoes and bacon before the meat starts coming out. :) The atmosphere leans more modern and energetic than traditional. Got to try this AYCE KBBQ restaurant with my family and it definitely lives up to the reviews. It's in the middle of ktown but there is a parking garage near it and they validate parking for you to 6 hours which is so nice because if you know ktown, you know parking is rough. We had a reservation and were seated within 5 minutes. We went the day after Thanksgiving and they had cute decor in the front of the restaurant with a Christmas tree and other decorations. The place is set up so you can order some things from your table in an iPad and other things you can just grab at the bar. They had a salad/ lettuce area, extra meats, hot sides, and ban chan. Everything at the bars is self- serve but outside of that the service is honestly pretty good. The waiters come often to clear your plates and the food your order comes out quickly. The servers come by to change your grill every now and then and drop off water. Our table ordered the essential menu which has most of what we typically order. You can order brisket from the menu or get it yourself. It's pretty good, not too fatty but still flavorful. There was also galbi at the self serve bar and was cut into small pieces off the bone so it was easy to eat. They also had self serve intestines, pork belly, beef belly, bulgogi. The sides from the menu were your typical sides from KBBQ, like steamed egg, soups, seaweed salad, etc. The sides at the bar were surprisingly delicious. They had different kinds of fried rice, egg rolls, chicken wings, vegetable tempera, and some sushi rolls. I honestly think I could gotten full from those alone. One thing there wasn't too much of was seafood which isn't a big deal for me but might be for some people. I think there were more seafood options on the higher level. We recently celebrated our son's birthday lunch at Moohan Korean BBQ and overall had a really great experience. We had a large party of 20+ people and Grace, along with our server (I forgot his name unfortunately), were both incredibly helpful, attentive, and accommodating throughout the entire time. Service was great, food was delicious as always, and they did their best to make sure everyone was taken care of. The ambience was also really nice, modern, lively, and spacious enough for family gatherings while still feeling comfortable and welcoming. It made the celebration feel special for our family and guests. We've been coming here since they first opened and have always had a good experience, which is why we chose to celebrate such a special occasion here. The only downside was the timing. Some of our guests traveled from farther away (we came from Santa Clarita), and because another reservation was placed close to our party's time slot, we felt rushed toward the end and had to rush our late-arriving guests to eat. Grace mentioned that if the restaurant had been fully informed about the size/details of our reservation ahead of time, they likely wouldn't have booked another large reservation around ours. I just wish the person handling the reservation emails had communicated things more clearly with the restaurant team, especially since the emails weren't signed with a name so we weren't sure who we were speaking with. I've heard good things about this place mostly because of the great parking situation which is $2 for 6 hours! For the basic AYCE menu, it's $40 which includes all the basic meats- brisket, pork belly, marinated galbi, and bulgogi. It is self serve for most of the meats with the exception of brisket and thick cut pork belly, which you order on the iPad. I really enjoyed the sides from this place. The kimchi, shredded radish, and even the green onion kimchi was really good! They even have kimchi pancake and cheese on the menu! I primarily judge a good kbbq place based on the brisket and the brisket was really good. I unfortunately did not like the pork belly that much and the galbi was also ok. For all you can eat, I thought the quality of the meat was the best of any AYCE place I've been to. My favorites were the wagyu beef belly, prime rib eye, prime marinated short rib, and LA Galbi. They do not hold back on the portions either. Also, the hot food counter with all the side dishes is a total trap. Those chicken wings are too delicious! Service here is top notch. You order everything through a monitor at your table, and within 3-5 minutes your order will appear. Very efficient. Parking is easy because they validate at the parking structure here. Food 2/5: The food quality has declined significantly. I'm not sure if it was because it was Mother's Day or if the food is just worse than before, but this is what will eventually set this restaurant apart from the competition-in a negative way. Also, one of the prime ribs came out with a dark grey edge. It seemed either they half cooked it and brought it out? or possibly expired; I'm not sure, but we asked them to take it back. Service 1/5: The first time we visited, we had a really pleasant experience. However, the second time, on Mother's Day, our server, NaYoon, was terrible. She lifted our plates to check if we were lying about not having napkins, dropped meat irritably when changing the grill, didn't cook or cut the meat for us (so my husband had to do it all), and when I brought this up to the front desk staff, Simon, he responded sarcastically, saying, "Oh, that's not nice," and then told me to have a good night with his sarcastic unbelievable face. This kind of service will drive customers away in K-Town and not to say we mostly saw non-Koreans there because you know Koreans take customer service seriously. I hope the business owner becomes more mindful of how servers treat customers. To top it off, we were given the wrong check-charged for 3 essentials and 3 premiums when we only had 3 premiums. Smh. Came here around a month ago, and had to call ahead to make a reservation as I came with a group of 10. When we got there, it took them a while to get the room ready, but when we got seated we got a nice private room to ourselves. Ordering was insanely easy to do on the tablet, and other meats we could just get up and grab from the buffet. The meats were a good quality, and special dishes (like the pork bun) were insanely good, though took a little longer to come out. Alexandria Avenue) ! we all parked in different places. There is parking in the same building (building called CBB / The Equitable Building). Parking Lot Entrance on the Left of the building off ( S. Mariposa Avenue) after the coffee bean on Wilshire. Parking is $5 max. Take Elevators to *P (Plaza Level) From Plaza Level you go out glass doors to a center courtyard thing and it will be in front of you to the right ! You can see the main building across from Boiling Crab if that helps. --- We were greeted warmly. we had made reservations ahead of time and were seated very quickly. The server explained the different premium all you can eat menu choices. *EACH CHOICE YOUR TAVKE CHOOSES INCLUDES EVERYTHING ON MENU IN THAT TIER AND ALL BUFFET DISHES! Everyone at your table has to choose the same tier, so we all had the PRIME Menu :) once we chose our first 3 main items + 2 side dishes for them to prepare, we headed over to the clean and plentiful Ayce Buffet Dishes! It was actually way more convenient and better for us as customers to pick and choose exactly what each of us want and how much sauce we want or don't want!! Genius idea!
