My brother and sister-in-law took me here for my birthday and I had the best time! They got me the Platinum tier so I was loving my wagyu brisket and all the good cuts of meat. You could help yourself to the salad bar and get more sides by yourself, glass noodles, fried stuff. But you also can order stuff from the tablet at your table. My brother-in-law is Korean so he was so polite and cooked for us the entire night. That is love. The wait staff was very attentive and I enjoyed my soju, my beer, and especially my wagyu brisket. Other places will give me the runs when it's ayce, TMI, this place... The meat is so good you will not get the runs. Highly recommend this place. The ambiance is nice. Good ventilation. The staff is very nice and the place is clean, the bathrooms did not stink. read more

This 'All You Can Eat' Korean BBQ is a unique throw-back to the pre-covid age - because it is a BUFFET - including the meat. Long before Covid, many of LA's AYCE K-BBQ places began to have a Banchan Buffet counter, offering bottomless salads, kimchee, & a dozens other types. My daughter and I loved this endless supply of Fried Fishcake, Sweet Omelet, Cubed Daikon Kimchee, and Dried Anchovies coated in sticky-sugar, plus more. I fact we often decided which restaurant we wanted to go to based on how many items were being offered on the Banchan-Bar. The banchan bars were so successful that soon even more counters were installed, offering even more types of items like Maki Rolls, Soup, Tempura, Kim Bop, Purple Rice, and even more specialty Banchan, including Raw Blue Crab kimchee style, Soy Sauce Egg, Marinated Gourd, and Desserts. And then they eventually added a 'Meat-Bar', where the raw meat meat for cooking at your table is selected. And these AYCE Korean BBQ Buffets with Meat-Bars started taking over the AYCE scene in LA. This trend happened until late 2019. I remember back then (in the early two thousands until nearly 2020), when places like this were beginning to become popular in many North American cities with big Korean neighborhoods, like Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Vancouver, Toronto, and Seattle. Then everyone began to Panic, as Covid-19 took control over the entire food world. Within a matter of months, most of these excellent places had closed down. And they've stayed Closed since then. But they are slowly coming back to life. And I hope it stays that way. Because Moohan Korean BBQ is one of the best, offering an amazing meal for a reasonable price, in an atmosphere that is more akin to a high-end Korean restaurant than a worn-down buffet. NOTE: Moohan Korean BBQ is open until 2AM every night except for Sunday (when it's only open until Midnight). Also, lunch is only offered on Saturday and Sunday. All other days of the week Moohan Korean BBQ opens at 5PM. read more

I went here with a group of six to celebrate a birthday. When we were seated, we were immediately asked if anyone had any allergies, which we appreciated because one person in our group has a severe pineapple allergy. We explained the allergy to our server and were specifically told to avoid two meat options because they contained pineapple, while everything else was supposedly safe. Not even 30 minutes later, we happened to ask what was in the marinade for one of the meats we had been eating. We were then told that it ALSO contained pineapple. At that point, the person with the allergy had already eaten it. This was extremely concerning because we had clearly disclosed a severe allergy and relied on the information our server gave us. If we hadn't randomly asked about that specific marinade, we would have continued eating it without knowing. Asking customers about allergies means nothing if the information being given afterward is inaccurate. read more

I can imagine this place gets super busy/ packed during the weekends and reservations are/ might be necessary. Even on a Sunday visit it was a bit busy. Needless to say they have plenty of seating . The all you can eat for a set price and the time limit is the best thing about this restaurant.... This means they have a quick turn around of people leaving and not overstaying causing huge wait times . Love how everything is self services with option to have delivered to your table . The music wasn't too loud. I felt like I was dinning at a a restaurant with a club next door . I liked the vents over the food to capture the smoky and smell of the bbq. I really enjoyed the sides pre sit down .... Counted there were at least 5 traditional sides to the Korean meal... a must ! Also loved the fact that our grill got changed out mid way for a new one allowing us to grill our meet to perfection. The salad bar and choice of meats are abundant. The only thing I did not see at the salad bar were fish options . Not sure if they have any sea food options . There is a private dinning room which I think I'll be taking advance of next time around when I have a bigger party. Loved the happy hour drink options , very reasonably priced. They have a full bar as well and they house a lot of draft beers and beer options . read more

Quick parking note first because it helps. Park at Equitable Plaza Public Parking on South Mariposa Avenue. Easy to find and they validate after you eat, so getting to Moohan KBBQ is simple. We had about a 15 to 20 minute wait for a table, which felt fair for how busy it was. We started with the crispy spicy tuna, beef tartare hand roll, spicy tuna hand roll, and beef tartare. The beef tartare hand roll was the clear favorite. Super savory and delicious. We ordered a few more because it was that good. The spicy tuna hand roll was solid and satisfying, not a standout but it hit the spot. The beef tartare had good flavor but was a little frozen in the middle. Probably would have been perfect if I let it sit for a bit before digging in. For KBBQ we ordered the KBBQ premium platter with a variety of meats like brisket, plus the prime seasoned short ribs and lemon herb scallop. The short ribs were amazing. We ordered about four rounds. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked beautifully. The lemon herb scallop was a surprise hit. Very well seasoned, buttery, and quick to cook. Service was friendly and attentive. Easy to flag staff down and they also checked on us regularly. Drinks came out quickly. The music was good and the overall vibe was lively and enjoyable. Great food, easy parking, and solid service. We really enjoyed our experience at Moohan KBBQ, I love their setup. Most of the popular meats, hot items, and salad bar are self-serve, which makes it super efficient and keeps things moving. The remaining items and sides can be ordered directly on the tablet, and someone from the kitchen brings them right out. Service was great. Our waiter was very attentive, consistently clearing our table, changing out our grill at least three times, and refilling our drinks without us having to ask. Parking is available inside the Equitable Building (630 S Mariposa Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90020). With validation, parking is free, just make sure you remember/take a photo of your car's license plate number and bring it to the front desk. Overall, a smooth, well-organized KBBQ experience w/ solid service and a wide variety meat selection. Three words: self-serve meat! Whenever I'm visiting LA I love coming here, the meat quality is so good and they have a buffet for sides, which is rare! The cocktails are also so good, and we didn't have to wait at all (today's Thursday night). Parking can be validated if you park in the structure under the restaurant. Finally got around to trying this place and it delivers on everything I want in an AYCE kbbq spot. From a great selection of meats, to a food bar that lets you grab your own wraps, sauce refills, side dishes, more meat, etc. I love when places have this bar feature along with their menu. The meat was also pretty good quality given it is an AYCE place. Prices were also not too bad! Lastly, they have validated parking, a huge bonus since Ktown usually has bad parking. Overall really impressed with Moohan and it definitely is one of my go-to's now if I'm looking for AYCE kbbq! read more

We got the premium tier to try the steak and other premium meat and it was okay tbh. I'd say the beef belly, brisket, and sides carries the experience. We were wowed by the amount of side dishes, lettuce for our wrap, kimchi, corn cheese, with another self serve for meat. It was super packed at opening and saw people ordering the basic with a lot of side dishes, so might be the wave next time. We would come back here again for the basic tier but probably not the premium. Staff were super attentive, changed our grill without having to ask, and cooked for us here and there! Also parking is validated which comes in clutch! Just might be hard to find parking at night but we came right at the opening on a Friday. read more

If you're looking for AYCE KBBQ in K-Town, this is your spot. This place is absolutely delicious, with brisket, marinated short-rib, galbi - it has everything. In addition to the menu you order on the kiosk screen, you can also get-it-yourself from the marinated and frozen meat section if you're impatient and want to jump right in. Usually I don't focus on service since it's not worth highlighting, however, Moohan does differentiate itself with top-tier service. With extremely attentive staff, the meat will be cooked well - also don't worry about parking, they'll validate after your meal. The environment is great, bustling with activity while also maintaining a clean interior, this is a great date night spot or if you're looking for a fun meal with a group of friends. When in LA, this is a must-hit-up spot if you're looking for an amazing KBBQ experience. read more

My friends and I had dinner at Moohan on a Friday night and we really enjoyed our experience! We went with the premium option and were happy with the quality of the meat. The service was also great! Our waitress was on top of it, removing unused plates as soon as they were empty and offering us refills on our side dishes and drinks. We made reservations, which I highly recommend! Great drinks and service. The wait is lengthy with no reservations, but there's room to wait outside and get a drink. I found the wait time was shorter than expected because some people didn't show up or had dropped off the list. The experience inside is sort of a party atmosphere with the Mau P radio station going. A little overstimulating and def not date vibes, but fun with friends. The meat was great quality and you can't beat the fact that the parking is free in KTown!!! read more

Food was ok. Most of the beef was good but the la kalbi was chewy. Service could be better and friendlier but overall it was not bad. Biggest complaint is how slow everything came out. Half the time we were having to wait for the next thing to come out even tho we weren't eating at a fast pace. The best thing there is honestly their fried chicken and kimchi. lol. read more

Probably the best ayce in ktown for Korean bbq. Some meats are misses (NY ribeye, beef tongue) but some hit the mark (marinated galbi, brisket, strip steak) Won't break the bank either and you get a whole banchan buffet which is great. read more

Excellent selection for the standard menu. Loved their hot buffet, which includes items like tempura, sushi, japchae, etc.. Meats are decent quality. Loved their side dish selection as well! Fast service for tablet ordered items. Get the lemonade and happy hour beers! Reservations recommended. They validate parking at select lots, make sure to park in the Metropolis lot in the building to be certain. We came at like 4pm, and it was not so busy, but I can imagine the buffet area can get crowded during busy meal times. read more

Came here for a company dinner. This will be my go to ayce place in Ktown for kbbq. Everything was great. The sides and some cheap meats are self serve. The good meats are brought to your table. You order from the tablets on the tables. The short ribs were our favorite. Everything else is great too. In terms of pricing and quality of meats, this place should definitely be on your ayce kbbq list. read more

Ambiance: the restaurant has very spacious dining hall, good for large group hangout, and they validate parking for two garages on Mariposa Ave, with validation it costs $2 up to 6 hours in the Equitable parking garage, and 3 hrs for free in the City Center parking garage. However, the sanitary condition is very concerning here, I saw quite a mount of flies inside the restaurant, and landed on the open food trays Service: friendly but slow, it took a white to get seated and served with food after placing the order, although servers changed the grills frequently during Food: very limited options you can order from their menu, most food items are in the ayce bar area, salad and Banchan, premade fried items, marinated meat, and frozen meet etc. Pork Belly - ** frozen Comb-Cut Pork Belly - **** thick cut, tender and crispy afterwards, recommend Prime Beef Brisket - *** sour taste Wagyu Beef Belly - *** frozen Marinated Beef Galbi - * poor quality Spicy Tofu Soup - *** average Kimchi Pancake - ** soggy and oily Steam Egg - *** average Seaweed Salad - **** recommend Beef Japchae - ** flavorless Takoyaki - ** mushy texture Fried Vegetables - ** soggy Chicken Wings - ** not crispy Price: overall poor quality and not worth $50+ per person, I wouldn't recommend this place, there are much better quality options in ktown for similar or even lower prices read more

At some point, though, I stopped coming as much because the parking situation in this shopping center became so busy and chaotic that it was difficult to even get in from the entrance. Also, the last time I came here, maybe two years ago, the valet parking attendant was so rude that I didn't really feel like coming back. This time, since we were already in the area for the spa, we decided to stop by again. Back when I first started coming here, it was just a very small noodle restaurant. One thing they've kept all these years--and what I think is such a great touch--is that they still serve yeolmu kimchi and kkom-bori-bap (barley rice) as a complimentary side. The restaurant became incredibly popular over the years and eventually expanded into the neighboring space, so there are now many more tables than there used to be. Since it had been such a long time since my last visit, I noticed they had quite a few new menu items that weren't available before, including galbi-jjim (braised short ribs), samgyetang (Korean ginseng chicken soup), and galbi noodle soup. One of my brothers and I ordered the perilla oil makguksu each, and it was absolutely delicious! It had such a rich, nutty flavor from the perilla oil, and it was one of those dishes that makes you think about it again later. In the past, I would always order the clam kalguksu whenever I came here, but this time I decided to try something different. My other brother ordered the clam kalguksu, and my mom had the dolsot (Hot stone) bibimbap. I tried a spoonful of my mom's dolsot bibimbap because I really like bibimbap too, and it was delicious as well. In the past, the wait here used to be incredibly long. You had to write your name and phone number by hand at the entrance, and then a staff member would come outside and call your name when your table was ready. This time, the system was different. I used to not understand what all the hoopla was about these chips! But today, they were really good... and I think it's the honey butter sauce. The first time I ever had these chips, in 2024, there was no sauce on them. I just thought they were regular chips. And I probably never would have gotten them again if they weren't on a prix fixe menu. These chips were divine! Thinly sliced potatoes fried in house and topped with a decadent honey butter sauce and fresh chives. The sauce really made this appetizer. Thick and creamy, almost like condensed milk. And the touch of freshness from the chives really brought everything together. Although simple, I felt like this dish was very well crafted. Next, we had the corn cheese rolls - sweet corn and mozzarella cheese wrapped in an eggroll-like pastry and served with a sweet, tangy gochujang sauce on the side. These came piping hot and were so fun to eat. The cheese was so stretchy and the sauce really elevated this dish, cutting through that rich cheese and adding a savory, almost smoky element. Then our drinks arrived. I got the hwachae milk punch with milk clarified soju, strawberry, lychee, and lime. This drink was sweet and fruity and tasted just like one of those lychee jellies you would buy at the Asian grocery store. My friends had the kimchi mule, house white kimchi infused soju with ginger and pear - essentially a Moscow mule with fermented notes and a savory umami from the kimchi. Nice and refreshing. Then we had a watermelon kimchi salad. This wasn't my favorite. Compared to everything else we had tonight, this was a bit boring. It was light and refreshing, but I wanted more fermented flavor. But it was still good, and the Hami melon was nice and crisp. You can never really go wrong with watermelon. Then we had the spicy sashimi noodles with sea bream, soba, dropwort, and perilla. This dish was interesting, summery, and cool. Cold soba with a spicy kick. Flavor wise, the ssamjang and perilla stood out to me. And the soba and sashimi added some nice textural contrast. Our last savory course was their grilled pork jowl topped with their house chili crisp and served with a side of garlic rice along with some ssamjang and peppers. The pork jowl was, of course, delicious. The cut is naturally bouncy due to being jam packed with collagen. The grill imparted a nice, smoky charcoal flavor to the meat, which was also infused with that delicious chili oil. Their garlic rice is so good! It's packed with garlic flavor and perfectly fluffy. For dessert, we had a goguma parfait - sweet potato custard with a strawberry and blueberry compote. This dessert was.. interesting. The texture was smooth and creamy, but you could definitely tell that there was a sweet potato in there. I think this dessert could use a little more textural contrast. I definitely would have appreciated a cake layer in the parfait or a more prominent crunchy element rather than just the two pieces of tuile garnish on top. That being said, it was still good. Danbi is one of my favorite restaurants in LA if not my number one favorite. Their menu feels modern, interesting, and creative, innovating on traditional Korean classics while remaining authentic and delicious. I especially liked their Dine LA menu for this season as it felt very fun and summery. I can't wait to come back and see what else they have to offer!

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.

We almost added the beef brisket, but then when he started to make fried rice we knew we would be too full to eat more. The Banchan, Kimchi Stew and Steamed Egg, were excellent and we really did enjoy our dining experience and being served by Douglas. He said 99% of today's customers were Army. We did have an hour wait which was what we were told, but it was worth it. Oh and the welcome for BTS Armies was touching. They had cold iced water and refreshments while we waited.
