We didnt known this going in, we were driving by and thought we'd try a new spot. We got lucky and found a spot at the bar. Beer and atmosphere was good. Bar area was nice, they had a game playing. Even though they were busy, we got service pretty fast for a beer and pizza took a reasonable amount of time once the order was in. Pizza was pretty good, we had the cup style pepperoni pizza. The pizza itself was huge but the pepperoni wasn't plentiful lol. The edge crust was crispy and yummy. The non-edge crust was maybe a little soggy (not sure thats the right word) but it was like a thin crust but a bit doughy at the same time. Overall, we may stop in again in a few months to give it another shot, but its just not something I would "plan" to make a reservation weeks out. Front desk ladies weren't overly friendly when turning people away, pretty matter of fact. Almost made us say forget it and walk away and not come back. A few tips: smile and maybe offer to make a reservation for another night. Parking was easy. Price was as expected and pizza size was very large. read more

I love when a place that's getting a lot of hype actually meets the expectation. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. Javier was our server and he was very sweet. He returned several times to see if we needed more plates, napkins, sauce, etc. The restaurant has a classic local pizza place feel, but elevated and modern with a good playlist. There was also something really wholesome about the way that all of the employees (hostess, servers, bartenders) seemed like they were genuinely happy to be there. The gochujang bbq wings, ragu pizza, and supreme pizza are all things we would order again. They had lime and graham cracker custard the night we were there, which aren't our favorite flavors so we skipped that. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu and will keep our fingers crossed that at some point there is a standard vanilla/chocolate option for custard in addition to the rotating flavors. read more

Been following Mooney's journey from the start and my family was so excited I got reservations! So far I think that's the only way to get seated, unless there's space at the bar. We were very impressed with the food quality, decor, and quick service! Can't go wrong with squeakers and a classic double pep, with custard for dessert! Hostesses were very kind and friendly. Bring a few quarters if you want to enjoy the old school video games in the lobby. Not a place to grab a cheap pizza or large portioned appetizers, but it sure is delicious. read more

Amazing experience here! The restaurant sits in a plaza so there plenty of parking. The inside has a number of tables from a 2 top to 4+ top (yes that means they can accommodate large parties). Staff - the staff was super nice. Abby was my server for a bit and she gave me some great recommendations! Everyone seems on the younger side so please be patient with them as I'm sure a good portion of the workers are just getting into the work force. The food - I had the pineapple pizza with al pastor and holy crap it was bomb. I'm normally not a fan of pineapple pizza but the al pastor put it on a whole other level. The meatballs were great as well. Slight heat to it with a pepper taste. The buffalo wings were tender and full of flavor. If you're looking for your next neighborhood pizza spot, this is it. I've been wanting to try this place ever since it opened and this Tuesday evening we were in the area and decided to stop in and see if we were lucky to get a table and yup as soon as we got in there, we were seated right away our host was amazing with recommendations we ended up getting the blue cheese salad, the cheese curds, and the double pepperoni pizza everything was so so delicious and service was great super fast! The environment was awesome. It's so beautifully decorated the food was delicious. My husband is very picky about pizza and he even loved it. I can't wait to go back. Thank you so much. The ambience is welcoming, the staff (Kyle and Leo) were not only knowledgeable on the menu/hops but also unveiled excellent customer service. Ambiance is great. Service was friendly. Got a large supreme and a large Swiss chard and sausage pizza. The chard and sausage pizza was just too oily and the crust of both pizzas came out very soggy. Even if you fold the pizza, the tip of it still flops. It appeared that it was pretty well cooked on the bottom but there was just too much moisture on top of the pizza. read more

Got a last minute reservation for 4 people on a Friday night. Was seated promptly in a booth. Service was very attentive and helped us with any questions we had. The double pepperoni pizza was on point and was more than enough to feed 3 people. My son opted for the burger and enjoyed that a lot too. Went for a side of ranch and hot honey which was perfect with the pizza. Beer options were solid. Got a passport for the bucket list beers so I'll be coming back to enjoy more great draft offerings. The frozen custard options were lemon and pistachio. The lemon wasn't very intense while the pistachio was overly so but both had great flavor. Will definitely be bringing the family back. So appreciative to have a place with a well curated beer and wine menu in this part of Long Beach! The rotating selection is very thoughtful and always delicious. The salads are all delicious as are the wings and the cheese curds. My 8yo can devour a whole pizza, it's that good. The crust is crisp yet chewy. My favorite is the sauce. I ordered online at 330pm Sunday and it made us wait till 630pm so I figured this is going to be some good food. My wife went in to pick it up at 6:25pm and they said it was not ready yet. I got a text saying it was ready at 6:29pm. Get the pizza. It was the pepperoni pizza with extra pepperoni on it and got the Brussel sprouts and we live about 7min drive 3miles away. And I was surprised that the pizza was not burning my legs. So we get home and I open the pizza and go ok you ask for extra, pay for extra and do not give you more. It seems like a less is more place. Unfortunately everything was cold the pizza and the Brussel sprouts are cold like they have been sitting to 30 minutes. We visited for our 3rd time and everything was GREAT! We had the most delicious Brussels sprouts, squeakers as starters. The churriousity stout and "I'll be there" IPA was on point! I ordered 2 large pizzas yesterday, wings and fries. We had orderned Mooneys once and it was good. We had family in town so we ordered for pick up. The pizza had little to NO cheese. Fries were soggy/stale I had asked for peppers and cheese on the side . FOR 2 LARGE pizzas we got 2 small packets of Pepper flakes and one little container of fresh Parmesan. Overall, a great first experience! I've been waiting for this place to open. Finally got our chance to try it out. Here's my thoughts: Food - Very good. We had the Squeekers(fried cheese curds), Caesar salad, wings, and two pizzas (pepperoni cups and fancy cheese). All were excellent, maybe a little deduction to the cheese curds (a couple pieces were lukewarm). Ambiance - love the vibe. As a 80s/90s kid I was excited that this brought me back. They had Rampage and Burgertime, however they weren't working when we went. Service - Not bad. Our server was very attentive. A couple other notes before you go: -As is just opened, it's very busy and loud. -They should have curtains (or use them if they're already installed). We came at sunset, and the glare was very bright. - Because it was busy, the pizza took longer than usual. I have no doubt this place will improve. Our family can't wait to come back. read more

The first time I came here, I had a subpar server who never refilled the tables water but the food made me come back. It's disappointing to have to write this review. We live nearby and watched this pizza parlor get remodeled from the ground up. First, I'll say they did an excellent job with the renovation. The restaurant is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. I noticed the staff constantly cleaning, which is something you don't see often these days. My wife and I visited for the first time yesterday, excited to try a new pizza place in the neighborhood. We ordered two medium pizzas, including what was advertised as their most popular pizza, and waited with high expectations. Unfortunately, when the pizzas arrived, we were both surprised by how little flavor they had. Neither pizza stood out, and both tasted bland. We're not pizza experts or competitors--we're simply local residents who enjoy good pizza and wanted to support a new business in the area. What made the experience even more disappointing was the price. Between two medium pizzas and a Coke, our bill was over $80. That's a premium price point, and in our opinion, the food simply didn't justify the cost. I encourage anyone considering this restaurant to read a variety of reviews before visiting. There are several excellent local pizza spots that offer better value and more flavorful pizza. One example is Amici's, which consistently serves fantastic pizza at a much lower price. I genuinely wanted to like this place and wish them success, but based on our experience, we won't be returning. read more

I was there last night with my husband and 2 kids for opening weekend. The Service was 100% AMAZING. My 2 year old daughter was having a moment (or multiple moments I should say) not being her best, but the waitress was ALWAYS so incredibly kind. Her attention felt absolutely genuine. She made me feel at ease and gave so much sweet attention to my daughter in-spite of my daughter being fuzzy. I honestly can't remember the last time I felt this well taken care of anywhere in the last couple years. I always appreciate having that extra attention to detail when I go out to eat, but when that positive attention is given to my kids, it's beyond anything I could ever ask for. Nothing crazy but spectacularly flavorful and delicious. Everything else was even better than I expected. The best thing we ordered other than the pizza was the wedge salad family style. Who knew you could make a wedge salad that good? Also everybody was very happy with the beer list and wine list. The service was A++. Had the most amazing service! Very attentive and friendly. We had a mistake happen with our pizza but it got corrected quickly and they gave us both pizzas. Definitely didn't expect that but very grateful for the service we got. I also enjoyed the most amazing gluten free pizza. I had a 4:15 reservation, the restaurant was packed upon my arrival - amazing considering it opens at 4 pm. Our server was very friendly. We ordered the fancy cheese pizza, Caesar salad, orange wine, and the lager. The pizza was delicious! The crust was light and airy texture. The drink selection was great. My only gripe was that the Caesar salad was very underwhelming. For $13 it was pretty small and there were pieces of lettuce that had started turning pink which tells me it's starting to go bad. I feel like the kitchen could have at least picked these pieces out. Overall it was a good experience and we will be returning without ordering a salad. read more

Yes, it's a new place and maybe they're figuring things out a little from when they opened but they care very much about what they're doing and everyone there is amazing. They e continued to learn, improve and adapt. The quality is amazing and keeps getting better. I've brought my family there maybe six times since they've opened, and it gets better each time!
