Today I went to MoonGoat to work and start off my week right because I thoroughly enjoy their coffee, avocado toast, good playlists, valet, and kind employees. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience today. Their WiFi was not working properly (they give you a 2-hour code so I thought maybe that was the issue- it was not). I attempted to get their assistance multiple times but did not feel like I was being heard/valued. I was helped by an employee who seemed annoyed by me but told me she would check on it. Nothing changed so not sure what was actually done! I tried to explain to her it still was not working and I do not think she cared haha. Ultimately, after about 45 minutes of trying to mess with it on my own laptop, the WiFi never worked and I packed my things and left. I rarely give negative reviews but this experience really rubbed me the wrong way as many people come to this coffee shop solely to work on their laptops and enjoy the vibe that MoonGoat curates. I would have thought they would place more priority on fixing the internet/WiFi so that all customers could have a good experience vs telling me its a me problem and making me feel like I am a bother/not actually helping me solve the issue. Not a dog friendly establishment. Based upon my last two experiences here I honestly don't feel like it's a safe place to be for anyone. Awkward vibes & subpar treatment by staff after leaving constructive feedback on Yelp. Alienated by the one of the owners and workers for mentioning the lack of general cleanliness in the seating areas, pictures provided. Never imagined I'd be singled out and targeted for leaving constructive feedback about the dirty floors on Yelp! For safety concerns please refrain from leaving any feedback on Yelp if you decide to frequent this location. Until they start properly cleaning you may want to refrain from any food purchases. I was assured by one of the owners that this is a Christian establishment which is great, but actions speak louder than words. For starters what the owners have created here without doubt is mind boggling. A phenomenal cafe with great drinks, food, and plenty of space, ultimately a superb place to gather to enjoy something tasty. They have open mic nights and Christian group gatherings. I've even invited a few friends to join me. It honestly doesn't matter what you get here from an iced latte to a bagel with cream cheese, it's all good. They even have pre-made salads, turmeric shots, tea, matcha latte's and a kitchen in the back not to mention they roast on site. I highly recommend their bagels - and whenever I see them I buy the bags of bagels on the shelf. I'm a well do friendly customer that spends $30-$40 a visit every-time I come so I represent good positive business and attitude. I've even meet a few of the regulars and I come here to catch up with friends, read, and work remotely. Downside. What I have noticed about this place are globs of dirt, hair, fur, trash on the floor where patrons sit. It's disgusting and it makes me wonder the level of cleanliness in areas that aren't seen by customers, especially in this new normal we're in. All indications seem to show pets and service dogs are allowed, but the weird thing is, there are no signs, and every single time I've come in, maybe 10+ times, I was never told my service dog or any dog couldn't come it. As soon as I was identified as a customer who left constructive feedback, other dogs, but now mine is not allowed inside. Wow, talk about petty, so that's how it is, interesting. I was in the middle of a call when I was told to leave which seemed rude and inconsiderate. More downside. Again as mentioned allowing my service dog inside quickly came to a squelching halt once when I left Yelp feedback that the floors were and are disgusting. They don't sweep the floors outside either so my dog sitting outside picks up a lot of dirt, hair, dog fur It's pretty obvious, drag a wet napkin on the ground in any of the seating areas. I noticed in the morning the same hair, trash and debris still in the floor. The closing team doesn't adequately sweep and does not mop. I've been here at closing a few times and the closing shift doesn't clean. So what's the point? Apparently my dirty floors feedback wasn't appreciated by one of the owners so literally the day after I left my Yelp feedback, I was told to leave immediately as soon as I walked in because of my dog. Don't take your frustration out on customers, and consider cleaning - make your employees do what they should be doing - sweeping and moping at night or find someone that will. I've seen maybe a Hundred dogs probably come in, and never has 1 dog owner been asked to leave because of there animal being inside or staying inside. Bottom line is this: if you leave constructive feedback that is true, you may be suddenly singled out and harassed because of that feedback like I was on September 13. This is a huge red flag to me that something is awry. I don't feel safe here, and I did notice one of the workers Arturo watching my closely after I left my service dog at home that day. Do you love wasting money? Do you love thinking "...I could have made this at home" while you drink a $5 hot chocolate that was obviously just warm milk and Swiss hot cocoa powder? Sorry, customers took the paper ones at the beginning of the line and not a single employee thought to bring them back so you get to participate in their "pretend to work here" program as you yourself have to grab the extra menus at the register and bring them back to their holder. Super fun! You then get to spend $50 for avocado toast (one with a veneer of salmon that cost an additional $6) and two drinks! And then when you tell them you plan on eating in the cafe, they decide to make the experience super special for you by making all of your food and drinks in cardboard and plastic containers instead of plates and mugs! For $50!! Even better? When you go up to grab your food (because why would they bring it to you?) and you go "hi! Picking up for *insert name here*" their barista will glare at you and point vaguely to the identical cups and boxes and go "uh - right there" in a super condescending tone! All for just $50!!!!!!!! And don't worry, you don't like your avocado toast toasted? The bread was soggy and falling apart! Super easy to chew - and if you hate salmon don't even worry, when you order it it'll come with the thinnest slice ever made so you'll barely even taste it! To start- my coffee was superior. I got one of the pour overs- I believe it was the "yeast nic" roast. It was smooth, low acid, fruity nose and the perfect amount of bitter on my palate. The other roasts also looked really interesting and unique too. The space is uninspiring converted industrial warehouse, with a decent amount of indoor seating and a small outdoor area. The crowd was a studious and polite mostly gen Z. Service wasn't exactly friendly but got the job done, and parking is truly hideous. As I said- good for the coffee. read more

A great place to grab coffee and chat with someone, do work, or grab and go. I tried the iced latte, which comes in a 20oz cup I think, and it was good, but not the best I've had. It has a more milky flavor and less of the strong coffee flavor that I prefer. I also tried the cappuccino, which was solid but again not as strong as I'd expect a cappuccino to be. Basically, order down a size-if you typically like lattes get a cappuccino or cappuccino then cortado. I also tried the earl grey blueberry pop tart which was tasty and nicely crisp on the edges. I love this place. This is a great place to study. They have fantastic coffee. They also have a great amount of food and snacks to choose from. I got a chocolate chunk cookie. It came warm and delicious! The perfect treat for my study session. I love the decor on the walls and just the overall atmosphere. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. This coffee shop had it all. In fact, I think this coffee shop wins for having the most seating in California. Seriously, over two dozen places to sit on the inside and outside. I got their Sumatra Pour Over, which I highly recommend. And the presentation made it even better--it came on a little wooden board with a ceramic mug and mini coffee pot. All in all, a great experience. I work from home and live for the few days a week I venture out to a coffee shop for work; so I will most definitely be frequenting this place. I think Moongoat is my most favorite coffeeshop to me at in the OC now. I came looking for a shop to read and relax on a Saturday afternoon and I was shocked to find out that I've never heard of this place before. Environment - the place is spacious both indoors and outdoors. There is a variety of seats, tables, and sofas to choose from. I opted for a sofa because I just wanted to relax without the added pressure of a table, and it was amazing! Although the music was a bit loud, I didn't find it distracting with the overall vibe of the place. Service - your drink comes out super quick and I love all the workers! Drink - I tried the vanilla latte and churro latte (both with oat milk) and they were both good! I prefer the vanilla over the popular churro, but both were good! Very cool little spot. Very unique compared to other shops and has a large menu to order food off of. I didn't get a chance to try the food, but my friend ordered the Hulk Matcha. I tried it and it was one of the best drinks I ever had in my life, and I don't even like Matcha! Highly recommend. I have supported Moongoat when they did a Kickstarter campaign and I couldn't be more happy to see their success. This is my favorite go to place, as this is not just a coffee place it's a community hangout, having open nights on Friday nights and various activities during the week. Why sell pour overs if you arent going to serve them? This service operation is crippling their quality coffee. I ordered a pour over and it took forever with not even too many customers at the shop. When i first checked in with them after about 25+ mins in, they brushed me off saying my coffee had 9 seconds left to finish and was coming right out... then they served it to another customer. Then i walked up to service again and asked them about my pour over. They told me they were sorry and going to take another 8 mins to make and would start right away. So i walked away and waited again. It took another 15 minutes to make and i had once again walk up to the counter to remind her to pour the now-lukewarm coffee into a cup. They gave me a refund but no amount of refunding can make up for this tragic waste of time and uninspiring service. read more

From the coffee to the service to the ambiance it all was 5 stars for me and my friends and hubby!!! We had our baby so super family friendly! Or perfect for those who need a space to study! Best experience for my first time there! The service I received was very warm and welcoming, definitely makes you feel like you could stay there forever! They even have free valet service which is a first for me. The valet worker, Charlie, was very accommodating and did a great job for being the only person working. For my first experience, I got the regular drip coffee which was only $2.99, and that's a really good deal especially with the quality of the coffee. I also got the apple brie toast which I will say are such unique flavors, but they go very well together! They topped it off with a balsamic glaze and I asked them to throw on some honey as well, and that did it for me. Overall, I fell in love with this place from the moment I walked in and it did not disappoint. If I lived in the area, I could definitely come in here everyday to do my work. After having a really terrible experience with one of the employees a couple years ago, I decided to give this place a chance again. I ordered both a hot and iced oat milk latte. They were genuinely, SO bad. The iced latte was really grainy... I'm not sure why there were oat pieces throughout it, especially since this texture wasn't in the hot latte. The flavor of their lattes was bad enough that I threw away both of these drinks. I know I could have gone up and asked them to make me something else but I really wanted coffee and the taste was gross enough that I couldn't imagine liking any of their other coffee drinks. One of our favorite morning spots in the area! My girlfriend loves an iced matcha with almond milk. I switch up my drink every time, but I've enjoyed the fizzy americano and the churro latte with oat milk. We've had a few of the pastries and recommend trying the coffee cake and berry pop tart! I think I found my new favorite study spot. This was my first time trying a cinnamon latte, and MoonGoat Coffee Roasters' churro latte did not disappoint! The barista put the cinnamon on top, but after shaking it a bit, I was immediately hooked. The latte had the perfect combination of cinnamon, milk, and espresso. My girlfriend had a dirty chai latte but understandably liked my drink better. I also loved the atmosphere. I was lucky enough to grab a cushioned seat by the couch, but there were plenty of seats and tables available (I came on a Saturday afternoon). They give you a tiny piece of paper with a code that will give you access to their WiFi for one hour. I think you get one code per item that you order. Luckily I spent most of my time reading rather than using my laptop. Overall, I highly recommend this place and expect to be back soon. read more

I absolutely adore this cafe! I've come here plenty of times and each time was a pleasant experience. I got tired of working from my room, so I went to this cafe for a change in scenery. First, let me preface this by mentioning that parking is ATROCIOUS. but crazy thing is that should not stop you! The parking lot is ridiculously small, but it seems like insane, makeshift parking spots has been normalized here lol. I don't recommend parking deep in the lot if you want to simply grab a quick bite or coffee run. Someone will park behind you and you will have to go around and ask each customer "hey do you own the big blue ford truck?", until you find the owner. If you want a quick order to go, just place an order online. If you're okay for staying a bit, like 45mins+ then you should be fine parking inside. It gets extremely busy starting at 10am, so if you're looking for a study/work spot inside, you better be here early. Otherwise all the seats inside the cafe are taken for the entire day. Luckily, there is plenty of seating outside! It's actually really nice sitting outside, just make sure to bring a jacket if you come around sunset. I haven't had an issue trying to find a seat outside. Black coffee is pretty mediocre/poor. I was not a fan at all and will probably just continue to order matcha. The matcha here is actually pretty good. It's not sweet, but you can get sweetener. I wish I could remember the name of the dish, but the barista recommended this egg/bready cheesy dish. I HIGHLY recommend trying it. It was delicious and I will definitely continue to order it. The avocado toast was just okay, but it tastes great if you squeeze some lemon on top! Overall, super awesome spot. I feel super safe being here alone for long periods of time. Everyone is kind and friendly. 10/10 experience! To start off, I appreciated how big the name of the coffee shop is on the building and made it easy to pull into the parking lot. As a college student, it's such a struggle to find a free space/table for studying. It's a big space with so many seats and table areas! I ordered the Infamous Churro with oat milk and it was yummy! I've never had anything like it. The drinks are fairly priced. Joel was kind and recommended drinks to me. Overall, the ambiance, aesthetic, service, everything about Moongoat-- awesome first impression. I can't wait to come back, try more drinks, and study until 11pm (open late too!)
