Super cute spot to come and have a quick sip of coffee or to get some work done on your laptop. Seating is a little minimal but if you can find one, the place is nice and relaxing. The greenery is the best part. So much and all over. Makes you feel like you're in a different world for a moment. The coffee flavor was very distinct. You can tell you're not drinking your normal Folgers coffee. I wish you got a little more bang for your buck but it's totally worth trying out if you've never been. Our gal was nice and professional. This place was pretty nice! Location wise, it was well hidden between office buildings. We came here on a friday and it was pretty busy. The parking lot was small though, so you for sure will need to do street parking in the area. The location was beautiful. A lot of green and open concept. It's a great place to hang out, work, study, etc. The drinks can be pretty pricey, but it's what you expect in Newport Beach. We ordered the strawberry matcha (in season) and a regular iced latte. Both were pretty tasty and refreshing, but both the size of the drinks were pretty small for that price - in total was $14. They do have wifi, but they kick you out after 1 hour, so it's pretty annoying if you're there for a while. read more

The plants surrounding the area, inside felt super cozy sat at a table next to the fireplace, definitely in a hidden area surrounded by corporation plazas. Felt super earthy, warm and since I have never been here before, I asked the staff what is the most popular items on the menu. We ordered a vanilla latte and a Chagaccino. Flavors were very light and filling. They had your typical pastries did not get a chance to try them. Small menu, the only cons I had were not much parking space, and I wish the inside had more tables since it can get pretty crowded indoor. The window ambiance makes you feel like you're in a cabin in Lake Tahoe if you get the seating by the fireplace. I absolutely love the interior of this coffee shop! All the plants give it a very relaxing vibe that makes you really want to hang out there and take it all in. They had the fireplace going and it was so cozy. Service was nothing memorable, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The biggest downside here is definitely the lack of seating. Everything about this place screams "come hang out here" but we came to do some work on a not very busy afternoon and still found it tricky to find a comfortable place to sit. It seems spacious, but seating could be better. We just tried a chai and it was nothing to rave about, but I'll have to come back here and give this place another chance and try a few more things! Decided to go on an adventure and try a new spot yet again. Here we go! It's kind of funny because it is in corporate plaza so it's not really where you'd expect a coffee place like this to be. I looked to my left and looked to my right and seen a lot of grown adults sitting and doing their work here. There is this fun fireplace there that looked super cozy. I honestly wished I had more time to sit and stay because it seems like a place that I'd enjoy chilling at. Coffee: I had no idea what to get so I asked the really friendly girl taking my order what she liked. She said she liked the cortado both hot and cold. I wanted it warm so I got a hot cortado with vanilla syrup. It was delicious and I could tell that it was GOOD quality coffee. Food: I did not get any but they do have a case of pastries in case you're wondering and they look good! I'd definitely come back here. They totally have got it going on here. It's a peaceful vibe. The soul music playing is chill too and not too loud. Everyone there was focus in their zone doing work. Grind don't stop. We ordered the vanilla latte, matcha drink, and hot chocolate. The drinks were a 5/5. The coffee wasn't too strong like I wanted, but the creaminess and flavor is all there. World's smallest paper cup for water, smaller than at the dentist...And serve yourself. World's smallest paper napkins, ( which you need because the doughnut you purchased to go with your coffee does not come with a plate, a fork and knife... no other breakfast fare offered to accompany your coffee... Just a vegan doughnut. Cream for the coffee? No, just whole milk and a teeny (perhaps 5 ounce?) coffee that was actually sour tasting. No comfortable chairs anywhere, just dozens of hard wooden backless/armless stools. And your coffee and doughnut is $11, which you pay at the counter in advance where you are electronically solicited for a tip. Meh. I would've preferred a Denny's bottomless cup, plenty of cream, a spoon and napkin and a full menu 24/seven. But it was the only spot within walking distance of the car repair I was waiting for. What a pretentious disappointment. I love a cool boutique coffee shop. If the coffee were good, and had accoutrements, and comfortable seating for guests. This is not the place. read more

It was what you'd expect from a place called freelance coffee project - both prices and flavors. Super strong cold brew (or americano, I can't remember) with a lot of flavor. It's like getting an IPA. I'm not sure if it's good or not. I prefer something with less strong flavors and aftertaste and burps. But the stronger the seemingly undesirable flavors are, the cooler I am for pretending to like it. Haha. I'd get coffee there again if I was hanging out in the warehouse district of Costa Mesa, but probably wouldn't go out of my way. If you're way cooler than me (maybe you're a man who wears overalls out and about or you collect vinyl or something) you'll probably love this place. read more

I ordered a flat white with macadamia milk. The nutty flavors really came through and the coffee was VERY smooth! No bitter flavor at all. I want to try a pour over next time. One of the few places you can get macadamia milk too. They also offer oat but no soy. Service was good too. No complaints. If you are looking for good coffee, this is a great spot! I'm leaving this as consistent feedback because I've had the same experience multiple times: very long waits, poor order flow, and customer communication that feels unprofessional. Today (Jan 23, around 8:15am) I walked in and before I could even order, the male employee at the register/front told me it would be about five minutes before he could take my order. After ordering, drinks regularly take another 10-15 minutes, so a quick coffee/espresso becomes a 15-20 minute commitment. What made it worse was the attitude. The male employee working the front/register was rude and dismissive in how he communicated the delay. Also, the female employee working the bar was extremely slow and appeared to only handle one drink at a time, which backed up the entire line. I understand staffing can be hard, but if you're consistently short-staffed, the fix is operational: dedicated register coverage during rushes, posted wait times, a clear queue system, and better workflow/training. The product might be fine, but the experience is not reliable. read more

The place has enough space for those looking to create their own office time and that was nice as I didn't feel crowded in finding a place next to the fireplace. I absolutely loved the presentation and the fact the girl ended up bringing me my order.
