Food was beyond fabulous. Service even better. Nice music, ambiance was romantic and calm. Everything was great. Will definitely go back.

It was another New Year's Eve, and Diane and I decided to repeat here for dinner, and then view the movie "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" at the Brenden Theatres also inside the Avi Resort & Casino. Both were good choices. This time we began with a meaty Shrimp Cocktail, followed for me by a bowl of unusual Bacon Jalapeno Popper Soup. The soup was smooth and likeable when I ate it, but as I suspected I paid for it much later at home when the high spice level caught up with me. A good Spring Salad with Honey Mustard Dressing and excellent-tasting complimentary Cornbread & Butter rounded out the preliminaries. Then while Diane enjoyed an 8-ounce Lobster Tail served with Drawn Butter, I struggled to finish a special Surf & Turf selection consisting of a 12-ounce Ribeye and 6 Grilled Shrimp augmented by specially ordered Sauteed Mushrooms, Bearnaise Sauce, and Demi-Glace, along with a well-cooked Baked Potato with Butter & Chives, and a few Asparagus Spears. The steak was thin but definitely medium rare as ordered. And I was full after only consuming 3 shrimp. Nevertheless, I could not turn down a slice of Moonshadow Grille's famed 5-Layer Decadent Chocolate Cake. Alas, no ice cream was available this night, but Whipped Cream was substituted without any request by me. And the cake was again delicious standing on its own. The only discordant note of the evening was overcooked Steak Fries. They were replaced but still tasted dead and unfulfilling to Diane. Service by Jesse and his assistant was attentive and outstanding throughout the meal, with Iced Tea refills provided without any need to request them. And booth seating hovering over the main dining room floor was comfortable. New Year's Eve hats and bead necklaces provided by the restaurant contributed to a festive holiday atmosphere.

Food was savory to perfection the Crab cakes were amazing and if it wasn't for JEFF our server/Waiter he said to try it with the pickled seaweed which I thought it was just decorations. However wow it gave the crab cakes a crunch and savory taste. Next was the blue cheese bacon salad, that was a cold. Jeff said do the ribeye and im so proud of a great flavor this place has. If it isn't for the waiters to ask us what we want and how he gave us the details i wouldn't order the bad ass dishes. God Bless a great place like this!

It's hard to believe that it's been over 13 years since my frist review of Moonshadow Grille. Gone is the buffet but the quality never went away. This was the 3rd year in a row my aunt and myself had Thanksgiving dinner here. We both ordered the traditional turkey dinner $48. Dinner came with white and dark meat, stuffing, green beans, cranberry, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing and it included a salad (Soup was also a choice). Hot rolls and a delicious cornbread was brought out with butter and pumpkin butter before they brought out our salads. I love this place because they have been constantly great. The turkey, both white & dark, has always been tender, moist and flavorful. Everything else was great as well stuffing green beans and mashed potatoes. The gravy had a subtle garlic flavor. Both of use could not finish or food. We also had the choice of pumping or apple pie. Our server asked if we needed some to-go boxes and we said yes. We will be coming down for Christmas dinner. Last year we both ordered their filet mignon. It was so tender you could easily cut it with a spoon. As for their staff? Extremely friendly and helpful. Keep up the great work Moonshadow.

Such a cute place. Our server Kandy was very attentive and checking up on us. She was friendly and recommended the New York strip, which was really good. My chicken was good perfect .

    Chef's Soup of the Day

We've dined at a lot of places in Laughlin and I must say this was one of the best ones; however, not worth the price. The ambiance is nice, small place, clean. You kinda forget you're in a casino. There is no restroom inside the restaurant so you have to go out into the casino. My husband ordered a lobster but it was a tiny lobster. We paid market price at $65 so not worth it. The chefs soup of the day was delicious. He also had the filet mignon with rice pilaf and asparagus. He enjoyed his food. My ribeye and asparagus were good. The baked potato was nothing special but it was good. They do put the topping on right in front of you: butter, sour cream, and chives. We had tiramisu for dessert. Wasn't the best but it was a big piece. I wish they had draft beers. All beers are bottle. Service was good and fast. We did make reservations.

2 fir $55 deal- NY strip, garlic mashed - thin steak, pretty good though.

We got the 2 for $55 deal. Overall pretty good. Meals seemed small but we left feeling full. Not every plate needs to be overflowing. Also came with a desert to share. Service was fantastic. Kind of bummed they don't offer cocktails. Only beer & wine.

Chocolate 5 layer cake, omg, we ate it all!

The wait times are somewhat long but that's not their fault...you can't make people hurry when they're enjoying a great meal after a day on the water. The real purpose of my review is to talk about my experience with the Manager, Michelle. She handled what was a very serious and sensitive moment for me and my large group with such sensitivity and grace. She was understanding, empathetic and she made one of my least favorite moments so much easier with her willingness to work with my group. She found a way to accommodate us even though we mis-counted our party size by 2. I am so aware that this wasn't easy for her and that it adds to the already stretched staff. Michelle...thank you endlessly!

My wife and I ordered the rib-eye steak; mine was bone-in. The steak melts in your mouth. We did not leave any leftovers since our dinner was delicious. The waiter came by asking if we wanted dessert. He mentioned that the desserts are made from scratch every morning. With both of our stomachs maxed, we decided to order the carrot cake to go. My wife was tempted to try the carrot cake while I was driving, and gave me a piece. If I weren't diabetic, I would have snatched that cake from my wife and eaten the whole slice of cake. We will be back with the family. I highly recommend you try this place. The steaks come close to the Golden Steer in Vegas.

Not terrible or awful, but bordering on being a nuisance in regards to time to table. That being said, the food quality was lacking. That is the issue. And it only matters because this restaurant is larping as a fine dining experience. I frequent vegas restaurants who pay more for overhead and location and their quality is far superior and similarly priced. The water tasted awful. Basically, If I could describe it, it tasted tainted by river. Like a swampy dirty smell with every sip. I basically stopped drinking any water during my whole dining experience there for this reason. Granted, it could have been my particular glass was dirty, or partially washed. It may just be that the water isn't filtered and it is tap. However after tasting my wife's, hers tasted similar albeit not as strong. The problem is, the tri-state area has the worst tap around. Everyone knows this. This wouldn't be a big deal if this was dennys. The problem is, like I said, this place is masquerading as a fine dining experience. It should be held to that standard. The minimum would be filtered water. So it's either a problem with the dish washer or the water itself is poor quality. Or they get the water from the casino bar which are notoriously bad quality in laughlin. Next we go to the meat itself. It may be that it was lacking because I went on their discount day, which I was unaware that it was, the special was a "prime" Rib for a good price if you get the package with the baked potato. Which is fine, but it may be on that day they use choice meat instead of prime to get a better margin for price and so they can sell more. That being said, I still ordered the full price prime rib, not the special. It still lacked in quality. Seemed very tough and full of connective tissue. Ordered medium rare. Alas it was Grisly. Which is indicative of lesser quality meat selection. Likely choice/select cuts, not true prime. I don't mind, but they are charging vegas quality restaurant prices but not in vegas. The quality needs to match. I don't understand the high reviews here because I gave this place 3 chances and this sadly was the third. I won't return ever again. You can get better quality if you just enjoy a drive to vegas. I thought it may have been a fluke but now I realize that is the norm there. There is some good but not worth a return. The asparagus and potatoes were cooked wonderfully. However, I don't go to a restaurant for their garnish dishes. I go for their proteins. We paid full price and I didn't bother to complain to the servers because it isn't their fault. I just won't come back.

The only problem we encountered was that a window table was not ready for us until thirty minutes after the time of our reservation. But the river view was worth the wait! We began with a complimentary Bread Basket that included excellent lavosh, and a Shrimp Cocktail Supreme sporting five shrimps. This time the crustations were meaty and flavorful dipped in a two-tone sauce. We requested and received extra lavosh with no resistance. Next up for me was a good French Onion Soup Au Gratin with a large crouton laden with a mix of Parmesan and Swiss Cheeses. Then I tried the Steak Diane Soup that came with Diane's order. It was the best version of this soup that I have sampled to date. Tender chunks of beef dissolved in the mouth carried along by a sea of broth that tasted like Mushroom Gravy. A complex dinner salad followed, with Mixed Greens (no Iceberg Lettuce at all), Grape Tomatoes, Artichoke Hearts, Bleu Cheese Dressing and Bleu Cheese Crumbles. It was here over 25 years ago that I first tasted wonderful Bleu Cheese Crumbles in the same type of salad. After cleansing our palates with Lemon Sorbet, for mains I had lean Veal Piccata with Capers and Spaghetti slathered with a delectable Lemon Cream Sauce, while Diane enjoyed her usual order of Coquilles Saint Jacques. This time the included Scallops were very small but the Shrimps were very big, and portions were generous. For dessert we splurged on two orders of delicious Bananas Foster prepared tableside, and I had a Decaf Coffee. Richard, our server, did a wonderful job of flambeeing this treat, that by this time was accompanied by a few bursting fireworks that were visible to us just across the Colorado River from our perches above. The elegant ambiance of the restaurant this evening could not have been better. We left in time to observe most of the Rockets Over the River fireworks show from our parked car on a hilltop overlooking the Laughlin Strip well above Casino Drive. It was a magical night!

Our waiter, Charles, deserves 6 stars for his service alone! He was insanely knowledgeable, funny, and didn't shy away from our alcohol induced antics. He even asked the chef if I could sub an item (chef said nope but I appreciated his effort). The wine is a bit overpriced for what it is, I sent the image of their bottle list to someone more familiar than myself and they confirmed that the price is less at a high end restaurant near LA. The appetizers were delicious. Overall, the food was good but I found the appetizer better than the main course. Everyone else had giant portions of food and mine was just a few bites. For the price, the main course left me feeling a bit disappointed. The dessert was good, drinks were good, and the view was absolutely the best part.

Then we noted that the restaurant was within 30 minutes of closing. So, we quickly diverted to El Charro in Bullhead City, only to learn that it, too, was about to close. So, I turned around and headed here, even though OpenTable reported that no time slots were available. I dropped Diane off before parking, and she easily scored a table here. In fact, hardly anyone was seated inside the restaurant, and it did not seem like a festive Mexican holiday at all. The Tuesday Night Menu was very limited, but I selected very tasty and smooth Stone Guacamole not prepared tableside but including tomatoes, White Onion, and jalapenos, to go with house-prepared salsa and spiced up Tortilla Chips. By request Diane received a complimentary basket of non-spicy Tortilla Chips, as well as a Kids Cheese Quesadilla. Somehow this filled her up. I, on the other hand, ordered a Southwest Beef Burrito with added beans inside, and Roja Sauce and Queso on top. The burro was large, but I finished it, along with more beans, and included rice. Everything tasted good and washed down well with Diet Pepsi. Service by Brett was very good, and at least the decor of the restaurant had the festive feel of Old Mexico, in this instance without the camaraderie of fellow celebrants.

The first night we got there, we went to one Sushi place called "The Sushi Spot" that was just awful. On our last night, we decided to look for another Sushi place, and we thought this place looked more decent and came here. We wanted just a booth and not the food show, and we got a booth. I noticed the music was very loud; I have never seen a sushi place have the music this loud and playing '80s music. I couldn't even hear the waiter. Their menu also looked so weird, and so much stuff looked the same. The waiter talked really fast. I asked the same question, and so did my friend: what was the deal with the Sushi and Sashimi 3 piece was? He told us two different versions of what it was, and neither made sense. I asked about the Bento box, something I have ordered at many other Sushi places in LA. I asked how the beef was done; he said is shaved beef. I have never even heard of shaved beef in a Sushi place?. I told him all the Bento box beef was BBQ and grilled, and he said not this one. My friend ordered the Bento box with salmon, and his was semi-decent, but the fish was very oily, deep-fried in hot oil. I waited and then ordered the Mahi Mahi, but I didn't understand what it comes with; he said that one is grilled. The food took a while to get there and when it came, it was really awful. The fish was so tiny; the sides were steamed rice and regular pasta and some vegetables that looked came out of a can. I ate the fish and some of the rice, but the pasta was disgusting. I pushed my dish to the side to be removed. This was the second Sushi place we went to in Bullhead City, and it was very disappointing. There is nothing worse than bad food served by a rude, arrogant waiter, I rarely write food reviews, but avoid this place, this is not a real Sushi place. If you want to eat great food, then go to a place called SaltGrass inside the Golden Nugget; the best food and atmosphere with a great view of the Colorado river. That was the best place we ate in Bullhead City.
