We came into Moonstruck on a Saturday night and had an overall good experience! For food we got the Pear flatbread, Oysters and Shrimp Cocktail - all were great and no complaints at all! For my main I had the 2Lb Lobster, it was by no means bad and had a decent amount of meat. The only issue with it was that it was slightly overcooked so the meat was a bit more rubbery than I typically prefer. I have to give it to the bartender and our server as I requested the dirtiest martini possible with copious olives and they delivered! Service in general was perfect, I wish I got his name but our server (from Rockland County NY) was great and elevated our experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance couldn't be better as we sat outside and had the best time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall I would definetly reccomend Moonstruck and will be back!

My husband and I were visiting Asbury Park for the week and decided to check out Moonstruck for dinner (after passing by it many times during previous trips). [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's such a cute place, and the views of Wesley Lake are beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were lucky enough to sit outside on a beautiful night and had a delicious dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We shared a Moroccan-spiced shrimp appetizer special, and then I had another shrimp special as my main (crab-stuffed), and my husband had the filet mignon. Everything was great, and our server was fantastic (I believe his name was Michael). We will definitely be back the next time we are in town.

    Everything crusted salmon

My wife brought me here for my birthday weekend, having seen it be well reviewed and well-regarded by locals, and it didn't disappoint. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Being located right along the river in downtown Asbury provides a scenic backdrop should you be so lucky be seated at a window.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My birthday was very fortunate having landed on restaurant week in Asbury, of which Moonstruck also participate. As part of restaurant week, we received three-courses for the same cost as entree ordinarily would on its own. I began with a cream of sweet potato soup that was thick, creamy, and delicious. This was followed by an everything crusted Salmon that I very much enjoyed. I find that while a lot of restaurants offer salmon, few prepare it as well as the offering Moonstruck has here, being perfectly cooked and well seasoned with everything seasoning. It was topped off with a pumpkin cheesecake that was just sweet enough to satisfy. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Moonstruck and will certainly be making a return visit when back in the area!

Really great experience! The garlic shrimp, everything salmon and steak were 5/5. We also did order the Greek meatballs which were decent but probably wouldn't order again - there were so many good things on the menu! The pistachio martinis were really good and the server was so sweet and attentive. The inside is a really cool vibe as well with a lot of natural light. Can't wait to fo

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is really cute and I've been here a few times over the years, but my recent visit here was just okay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our waiter was nice and the ambience is as nice as I remember, but all the food just felt like it missed the mark a bit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our NY strip was good but not memorable, the potatoes were a bit chunky and we also got a lemon pasta that was not my favorite. Beware the kid's portions are also huge.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant with fantastic ambiance in Asbury Park.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Main entre and dessert was great, though their vegetable minestrone soup wasn't the best. If you happen to catch them on restaurant week, I'd definitely recommend that since you get a great deal.

I came for restaurant week and it was a prixe fixe menu. It was a really good deal, I had an app, entree and dessert. The service was great and my meal was delicious. It's a bit fancy inside. The drinks were very good too!

Amazing happy hour! And Dina the bartender was the best! We tried the garlic knot sliders, one of the flatbread pizzas and the crab cakes- all very delicious, will definitely be back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Live entertainment in the downstairs lounge was GREAT!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was amazing... sophisticated but not stuffy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff was knowledgeable, extremely attentive & so friendly. Even the managers kept checking on our table & making sure our drinks were full. Espresso martini was so frothy & delicious. The food did not disappoint either!! Eggplant fries, lentil soup, calamari and mezze platter were delicious... and then there were the entrees & desserts!! We had leftovers for days!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great spot for any occasion.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to go back!!

Is this a place I could bring teens?

    If well behaved

Is it a good seafood place?

They don't specialize in seafood but there are plenty of fish choices on the menu. Last time I got the Cod that was on the special and it was dry. My hubby usually gets the seafood combo and it's delicious!

Do they seat large groups without reservations?

They take reservations of 12 or more. They can do a party if 20 in a room on 3rd floor

Right now they have a tiki theme, however, that's it in my opinion as far as draw to keep going there. The drinks are an overpriced smoke screen for people who want to waste money on a sugary drink. And it goes along with the whole Asbury Park eclectic vibe but most of the drinks have a 5 or more ingredients I never heard of (which is fine) but it waters down the drink. I don't want to have a drink (or pay $15+ for a drink) that tastes like a fruity cup of juice. As far as the limited food suggestions on the menu- only 2 or 3- this is the third time we've been there and they said they were out of food -so then take it off your menu if you can't be consistent!!! We're not just going to keep drinking without anything to eat to go along with it. As far as the service it's inconsistent, when we sat down there was only two of us- The server was very nice but we waited too long for our drinks. A party of 7 came in about 1/2 hour after us and they had their drinks within 5 minutes- that should never be. After one drink we got the check and we left, we are completely scratching it off our list, we will not return there. It does bum me out because it has such potential and there's nothing like it around but I'm not going to visit an establishment where I walk away feeling it was a waste of money.

You're only review, you've only been once and decide to go onto a public forum and give 1 star. Anyway off my soapbox. Pascal and Sabine not only has some of the best cocktails and bartenders in Asbury but possibly NJ. I have been countless times with my wife, my kids, large groups you name it. My favorite way to experience Pascal is to sit at the bar get a couple cocktails (The Jackal is a staple), the Madame Smith Burger (my wife gets the Mr Smith) the fries are amazing, and maybe the escargot and just enjoy. It's up there with some of the most perfect nights out in Asbury you can have. Hope this 5 star review balance out a ridiculous 1 star review. - YH

Lovely hostess, great round bar seating with huge windows for people watching, and a genuinely charming and attentive bartender (Mike). We started with oysters from Newfoundland and cheese off the happy hour menu -- both great. My mom loved her lavender French 75 (a drink special), and my white wine was perfect (the name escapes me at the moment). The garlic soup deserves awards. I first had it two summers ago and still think about it -- I made my mom try it and she immediately understood my rave reviews. For entrées, her burger was cooked perfectly medium-rare, and my fish & chips absolutely hit the spot. Both came with generous portions of house-made fries and an unexpectedly addictive house honey-mustard. We had enough fries for leftovers, and I even asked for extra mustard to take home. Food, service, atmosphere, lighting, noise level -- all dialed in. A 10/10 experience!

They're mostly known for their shared plate concepts so we got several items and split everything. We got the tostadas which was an interesting plate of a couple different things, the nachos which I loved, the ceviche which was ok-not your typical ceviche and bit too spicy for me, the salad which I really liked, camerones which the table liked, the pork tacos which I heard were very spicy, the chicken tacos which were good and the steak which was hands down my favorite and the yuca mash was so yummy and different. For the steak, you can only get it medium rare or well done which I is 2 complete ends of the spectrum. We are medium people, so we ended up getting a medium rare. The sushi is fresh and tasty, we enjoyed the seared scallop appetizer. My sushi (Tiger roll) was magnificent. The Yuzu lobster roll could have had a bit less rice in the roll but was otherwise very enjoyable. The combination of fish in this roll paired very nicely together. Taka has a vast menu with many options from appetizers to specialty sushi options. They provide alcoholic and non alcoholic mocktails for those of us not interested in consuming liquor.....the mocktails are fantastic. The only thing that made me rate 4 instead of 5 stars was the staff needs a bit of work on serving. We ordered an appetizer and were also given two additional small plates since we were sharing this item. When we were done with the appetizer our specialty sushi plates were bought out and the same server left the three empty plates from the appetizers on the table instead of removing them. Dessert was absolutely decadent and moist (I omitted the whipped cream since I don't like it) but the shortcake was perfect without it. I look forward to returning to Taka and trying more items on the menu.
