The dinner rolls looked good too but i didn't eat mine, came for steak lol. Wife and I split the 24oz Porterhouse, other entrees ordered were prime rib, and the Prime 41 burger. Porterhouse was delicious, sirloin side was perfect, filet side was slightly overcooked but still tasty! Prime rib was well received, but the burger needs a better bun. The bun provided turned soggy too quickly and made it a bad experience for them to eat. What a waste. Sides- brussels sprouts, asparagus, truffle mac and cheese, and (non truffle) french fries were all delicious and the Bearnaise sauce was perfect. Service was really very good, prices are not cheap but the quality is there and we felt totally worth it. We had a great time and will be back soon. read more

We started at the bar while waiting for our table, even though we had a reservation, which to me is usually a good sign. While we waited we had the dirty martini with hand-stuffed blue cheese olives and an Old Fashioned. Jimmy was our bartender and was absolutely lovely! Once we were seated, Kristen took care of us and was equally great. She was friendly, honest, and sharp throughout the evening. We had pretty high expectations coming in, so unfortunately the overall experience didn't quite live up to them. We started with the wedge salad, which was 10/10. The iceberg was perfectly crisp and the dressing was creamy and delicious. Next, we ordered the bone marrow, which unfortunately came out cold, and the sourdough served with it was also extremely hard. We let Kristen know and she immediately took care of it and brought it back to the kitchen to be resolved, which I really appreciated. For entrees, we ordered the 6oz Prime Filet and NY Strip with Potatoes Au Gratin and Broccolini. The steaks themselves were good, but unfortunately nothing came out particularly hot, including the sides. For me, temperature makes a huge difference so that alone took the meal down a star. That said, the service was genuinely great. Kristen was wonderful and did everything she could to make sure we were taken care of when things weren't quite right. I also really appreciated that Kristen was honest with us throughout the meal rather than simply telling us what she thought we wanted to hear. Overall, there were definitely some highlights, especially the wedge salad, cocktails and service, but given the price point and expectations, I think there are a few things that need to be tightened up. For now, it's 2/5 for us, and I'd be willing to give it another shot. read more

Normally, I go in for pizza places, but this was a special occasion, and steak was what was for dinner. We surprised a family person with a trip to the new spot in town and to their surprise we also paid the bill. That's different. Anyways, on to my observation of "Prime 41" Ambiance: As I have said, I mainly am a pizza/Chinese restaurant person, but once in a while a steak is needed. I've been to quite a few of the posh steakhouses in the state, so it was nice to see how this one stacked up. When we got to the restaurant, it was just opening, so we were the first ones there. No one else was there or waiting. So for some time, we had the place to ourselves. As the denizens started to file in, the volume started to increase quite a bit, but we were still ok, being on the other side of the restaurant. Not bad decor, and the lighting was just fine. Still had that new restaurant look and feel to it. Service: Our waitress was young, very good and personable with us at the table. The bread was brought in a timely fashion, and she was very attentive to the needs of the group. Orders were taken correctly, tables had everything they needed, and if something was asked for, we got it. Food: When our meals finally arrived, they were smoking hot, done to order, and quite tasty. I thought that the portions were good sized, the veggies were cooked nicely, and the meat was cooked exactly the way I wanted it. In closing, there was nothing that I could say about Prime 41 on this trip there that "needed improvement" or they could do better on. The food was solid blah. The hamburger my friend ordered was just that. A plain ole burger. I had the veal schnitzel that was so greasy and tough - horrible. The breading cracked right off it and left me with a gray greasy bland piece of tough leather. Fries to feed an army and was thinking - wow - this is the worse meal I have had since COVID. The portions were pretty big and everything tasted good. The steaks were cooked to our likings (my dad has the ribeye - he took a bite before I could get a picture). My BF and I have been coming here since a mishap turned into a weekly experience. The bar staff is AMAZING and knows I want the lobster tail when I walk in. He has tried almost every cut of meat and all have been wonderful, but the winner was the ribeye. Pair it with the creamed spinach, slightly dirty martini and an espresso martini for desert! The bartenders and drinks were great unfortunately everything else was terrible... We got two apps, the calamari was thick cut and chewy, had no flavor whatsoever. The oyster Rockefeller all tasted off, most of them had sand and just tasted like warmed oysters with watery spinach. There was no buttery goodness. Both apps got one star and that's being generous. The short rib dish tasted like it was marinated in vinegar and instead of being tender had the consistency of corned beef. The mashed potatoes were beyond salty and had the consistency of instant mash. Finally the $50 8 ounce filet... ordered medium and came out completely raw, like cold purple inside. Don't usually send things back but didn't have a choice. For the price was expecting they fire a new steak and cook it correctly. Instead got the same cut up one that was reheated and still raw. Chewy disgusting cut of meat. Plenty of other real steakhouses nearby that do it much better. Overall terrible experience, only bright spot is the bartending staff. read more

Went for date night and left very disappointed. We ordered a filet, strip steak, potatoes au gratin, and asparagus. After waiting 30 minutes for our food to arrive the filet was dried out, the strip was cooked medium well when I asked for medium rare, and the potatoes au gratin were cold. They prepared another strip streak that took 20 minutes and delivered it without the sauce I ordered. Then 10 minutes after they delivered another order of potatoes. Even after all that the charred steak had no juice or flavor to it. First time going there and definitely never going back. read more

We went back to Prime 41, during a weeknight and it was not nearly as good. Raw oysters were not clean-lots of shell just like Fishbones. Served without lemon as well, what? We had to ask for lemon with oysters. The oysters Rockefeller this time were absolutely disappointing. Very dry and it seemed like someone lost the recipe. Dry spinach on top of overcooked oysters, terrible. They were so great the first time we had them. Small filet mignon was good, properly cooked and seasoned but nothing else was as good as our first visit, including the cocktails. I know no one is perfect, and people have bad days, but at this price point i would expect the quality to be closer to our first visit. It's expensive. read more

I've been really excited to try this new place -- and while my guy enjoyed his steak (though he did mention it was a bit too salty), I was disappointed by the French Onion Soup. I know it's a steakhouse, but I'm a bit of a French Onion Soup connoisseur, and I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the broth had an odd mix of tangy and sweet that just didn't work for me. I couldn't even finish it. I'm a traditionalist when it comes to this soup, and I don't love when restaurants reinvent something that's already perfect in its classic form. There's a reason people order French Onion Soup -- we want that rich, savory, traditional flavor. To the manager/owner/chef: please, for the sake of soup lovers everywhere, bring back the traditional French Onion Soup. Some things don't need a twist. They just need to taste like... themselves. All this said, the staff was super nice - but I do wish they would've left a basket of rolls on the table instead of giving us one each with a tongue. And not sure we needed the cigar box of various steak knives presented to us...felt a bit dramatic and unnecessary, but nonetheless, we will probably give the restaurant another try at some point further down the road once they get their footing under them a bit more. read more

It's okay. I know it's a soft launch currently but it's a 5 star if you've never been to a comparable steakhouse like Capital or Pellana. However if you have been to a good steakhouse it's a 3. The decor very reminiscent of sailboat with lighter teak colored wood and white subway tile. Steakhouses should be intimate, low lighting and have an "expensive" ambiance if you're paying 90 bucks for a steak. The steak was good! Sides were mid. There was a whole weird "show" they put on with a singular piece of bread starter delivered with tongs (should be basket lol) and make you pick your steak knife out of a cigar box (lol) the food should speak for itself and override these things but it was just a decent steak and mid sides. Steak more expensive than capital, sides cheaper. Overall not worth the pricing. If steaks were 40 bucks or something would be 5 star. Look forward to see if they grow or change cause they can't sustain the higher end clientele that traverse the fantastic steakhouses that blow prime out of the water only 15 min away for same if not slightly less pricing. read more

My wife and I had been anticipating the opening of Prime 41. We follow a protein forward diet and steakhouses are our love. It was touted as a "high end" steakhouse and unfortunately fell short of that mark for us. We went on our date night the 11th. With our 5:30 pm reservation known, we were seated at a window seat next to the street. As we walked to the table there was a couple, both, face-timing people on there phones with both sides of the conversations coming through loud and clear. It's unfortunate that they were not asked to stop as it was bothersome to my wife and I. A "high end" restairant would never allow this to happen. Their conversations went on for awhile. Our waitress was pleasant unfortunately I forgot her name though. We both ordered drinks With my wife enjoying her NA cocktail and I had a somewhat sweeter Manhattan than I've had in the past. And then we waited, and waited for our appetizers. The waitress asked if we would like some bread and instead of leaving the basket handed us 1 each with a pair of tongs? I had to ask for a 2nd piece as we were at the 40 min mark for getting our apps. Bone marrow and toasted sourdough with no way to get the marrow out of the skinny bones. We had asked for the calamari which they did not have and settled on the chicken wings also. They were supposed to have be plated into 2 different styles being dry brined first then and glazed to order with choices of plain, buffalo and BBQ glazing. Ours came out warm and plain, rubbery if that's a way to describe them, but definitely not "precision-roasted and glazed" as the sauces were on the side. Not glazed as the menu stated. Both pretty disappointing. I understand they are new and were giving them the benefit of the doubt but the dinner we had been waiting for was a huge let down, which again we waited and waited and received, after many, "sorry for the wait's" from the waitress an hour and 20 minutes after arriving. There was a very light crowd on a Monday and early in the evening. I had ordered a scotch to go with the steak, again a long wait and it came out with the entree. We had the porter-house cooked MR and sides of mashed potatoes and brussell sprouts. Again after the extremely long wait we were looking forward to it, but received the filet side of the steak WD and the strip side M and the whole thing was just warm. How this happens, who knows. To top it off there was a line of sinew that ran through the length of the strip and the amount of fat on the steak was far too much for the cut. The mashed potatoes were COLD. I had the waitress take them back the sprouts were good though. For dessert we had the lava cake that comes with ice cream, Unfortunately there was no lava coming from the cake as it was also cold. Total time in the restaurant ended up being 2 hrs. On a Monday. And 200 less in my wallet when we left. The manager did do a couple of walkbys but really seemed more stressed than anything and not wanting to ask us how our experience was going. It's kind of a let down after anticipating the restaurant being opened for so long and having it fall way short of our expectations. Observations: Staff definitely needs more training, from the top down. The expo person that receives the dishes off the line, if there is such a person ther, needs to be let go. This person generally has more skills than the wait staff and can tell differences in the food. Nothing in a restaurant should ever, ever, come out cold unless it's meant to be that way, ever! I understand the "just opened" "still learning" and other excuses but with a manager who is attentive to the tables, and the wait staff and knows of longer wait times happening, these problems should have been close to non-existent. To say you are a "high end" steak house, at this point in time, is a farce. Want high end go to Post 1917, Capital Grill, Moo. Watch how the staff is interactive with the customer. how the food comes out quickly and is followed up by staff that want to know how everything was served. If there are problems they are addressed immediately and please don't say sorry over and over. Will we be back? Sure. It will definitely be awhile. Hopefully they can work out the kinks and quality and when we do come back I can change my rating. I think the 2 was fair though given the reasons stated. read more

Stopped in yesterday for a light lunch while waiting for my husband. Got a Cesar's salad w anchovies (love that) and grilled salmon. It was so delicious and salmon was cooked perfectly (brought half home for hubby). These salads always taste so "boxed" which is why I'm writing this review. Lovely helpful staff. There were 4 of us for dinner...drinks were excellent. Apps were excellent...but 3 out of 4 dinners were awful. Two of us got the short ribs, I couldn't even eat mine, the dinner was salty and swimming in oil. So was the other person that got the same dinner. One of the others got the skirt steak. I love a good steakhouse, and it is great to have a local one. It is a bit more casual (no tablecloths), ambiance-wise, than most steakhouses, but it is still lovely. The booths are quite tight and feel very cramped, even though we are not large people. Our server, Maxine, was amazing. She was very familiar with every aspect of the menu and was warm, friendly, and funny. She paced our service perfectly. Our cocktails were all excellent! The filets were perfectly cooked, and my bone- in ribeye was fabulous. We were asked to choose our own knife to cut into them. The sauces are complimentary, and the bearnaise and the truffle butter were both very good. There were many interesting choices for sides to share. The Potatoes Au Gratin were excellent, not overly cheesy. The Sautéed Mushrooms were plentiful but bland. I look forward to another visit to Prime 41. When I return, I will request a table over a booth and Maxine as our server. It was great food and stellar service. read more

Meh. If it wasn't for the waiter's (Christopher, maybe?) AMAZING attention to detail I would give it a 3 star. Food was ok (no names but had better steaks at another Chelmsford fixture leading to Vinyl Sq) but nothing remarkable. Onion soup was ok, wife & I both had mediocre filet mignons (a bit dry). I added Oscar style to mine, a bit of hollandaise, a few pieces of crab and 3 stalks of asparagus for an additional $17!!!! Ouch. Crème brûlée was also ok but also remarkable. Wife's shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. One onion soup, two wedge salads, two filets (one Oscar style, one with added shrimp), one cocktail, two soft drinks, two crème brûlées: $250 PLUS tip!!!! I don't mind spending the money but for over $300 for two people the words ok & mediocre should NEVER apply. The ONLY remarkable part of this meal was the service but that's on the waiter, not the restaurant. read more

Visited Prime 41 for the first time today. 2 of us ordered the 6oz filet mignon and another ordered the skirt steak. Ordered a side of au gratin potatoes and Cesar salad and it was all spectacular. The steaks were all cooked to perfection and everything was so delicious! Service was excellent and atmosphere was beautiful yet cozy. Dining area and bar was very attractive. Prices were reasonable. Vanilla Crème brûlée was a fabulous finish. Can't wait to go back! read more

We went this afternoon, 3/29/26, as a gift to ourselves so we actually dressed for the occasion. We knew Prime41 soft-opened last week as we live in town. We did not make a reservation as their website clearly states 'Prime41 is not accepting reservations at the moment.' Also website has no hours listed, except "Closed" each day for M-Sun on Toast! The first thing we were asked at the 4pm opening time was 'Do you have a reservation'. And there were "no tables available, but possibly at the bar" only. Really?? Ambiance was barely looked at, and of course we can leave no comment about the food as we left. As we waited for restaurant to open, again, no hours posted on any doors, many other couples and groups were turned away, probably because they were also confused about times. Husband and I both noticed the neighboring restaurant, Fish Bones, was quite full by 4pm! We then shopped at Market Basket for top quality steak, baking potatoes, and asparagus for 2, for half the price of a single serving of steak at this apparently exclusive club. read more
