The food was all very good, the service was also very good and the ambience was perfect. Initially greeted by Pat at the bar who provided great service and made a perfect Bombay Saphire dirty martini . Started with very fresh and tasty oysters and shrimp cocktail. Our steaks , prime sirloin were great. 1 au poire and one simply grilled. Sides of carrots, and onion rings were both fantastic. The dessert was also tremendous, chocolate cake that was way above ordinary. Assistant general manager, James Fava was a true gentleman and offered to help us with anything we needed. Even chef/owner, Jamie Mammano was present in the bar area and he was as welcoming and warm as the rest of his staff. This review will be as much a rant about steakhouses as anything else. Firstly, stated plainly, I am a steak aficionado. I pan sear ribeyes all the time and frequently indulge even at non-steakhouses, some of whom do a pretty good job. But when I want that special occasion thing, for my money you cannot beat a good steakhouse. Now, for whatever reason, in the Burlington area we have about a half-dozen of them- Mooo, S&W, Bancroft, Eddie V's and a couple more. I think I've eaten at all of them. (Not to mention Morton's and Abe & Louie's in Boston). Here's my problem with steakhouses in general: I will avoid the word 'gouge' and discreetly use the word 'overcharge.' They know people are coming out for a once-a-year thing and so, take advantage of that fact. (Question - if they charged less would someone like me not visit more frequently?) So, Mooo. Pros - nice atmosphere, quiet, good service. ( We got a kick out of the guy who came over and told how excited he was that chef had told the staff his specialty with lamb was mint jelly. Seriously? My wife does that when she makes them at home.) My wife pronounced the lamb as 'up in the top ten,' the corn and mashed sides were excellent, albeit smaller than other ones I've seen. And the steak? I got the $95 bone-in dry-aged rib eye. The waiter advised it wouldn't look the same as a traditional rib eye. What he didn't advise is that it would be hard to cut (heresy!) And while very good, just was not great. And for 95 bucks it damn well better be. And it just wasn't. Disappointing. The tab for for six delicious oysters, rib eye, lamb chops, two sides, two glasses of wine? $320. Pre-tip. Thank God we didn't splurge for dessert or 2nd glasses of wine. Look, for me it's all about value. I don't care if I drop $400 on a meal once or twice a year but it had better be worth it. You're all Yelpsters, right? So if you're going to a steakhouse in Burlington/Woburn you have choices, lots of 'em. Number one rated steakhouse in this area? Eddie V's. Been there, wrote about it. Spectacular. Ditto Bancroft, both I believe in Top 5. Mooo? 16th. Would I return to Mooo if I felt the value was better? Why should I ? For their 6 oz Weygu that costs $190? Or their $275 (not a typo) Tomahawk for two? You can (and I have) get a 4-pound Tomahawk at Tuscan Kitchen (also in Burlington) for 85 bucks. You can buy THREE at Tuscan for the price of one. So, no, won't be back. I'll consult Yelp and Google reviews and go for the best value. While Mooo is very good, it just ain't the best bang for your buck. read more

As for the atmosphere, I think they're going for edgy/modern and they're actually giving bat cave and eye strain. We ordered the Caesar salad, calamari, tuna tartar, the sides flight and of course some steaks. The calamari was 75% fried peppers and a calamari here and there (boo), the tuna tartar was okay, the Caesar salad was 7/10, the sides flight was decent and the steaks were just okay with a side of lemon zest butter (this did not add to the experience). After quite some time, we decided to dine at Mooo.... Burlington again with some friends for a birthday celebration. After a hard miss from our first experience, we were optimistic with how this experience would turn out. In the end, we actually had quite a pleasant time. Our servers, Kim / Kevin were great. They were very attentive and knowledgeable on the evenings menu / specials. Kim had a great sense of humor and provided exceptional service, tending to us an exceptional amount of times. Our reservation was at a later time / 8PM, and the restaurant was still fully housed. The ambiance was nice, but we feel like it could be that much better if they had a live jazz band or so like some nearby establishments have. We began our dinner with the Calamari, Sirloin Tartare, and Wedge Salad. The Calamari was great, cooked Rhode Island style with a nice fry. The Tartare nice as well. It had a very mild, yet subtle flavor. We were really disappointed that the Oysters Rockefellar was no longer on the menu but it wasn't a deal breaker. For dinner I had the Prime Ribeye cooked MR. My wife had the Faroe Salmon. My Ribeye was accompanied with the Madeira & Black Truffle sauce which turned out to be a very nice add on. We've experienced many times with steakhouses very poor sauces that are either overly salty, or similar to that of A1. Our sides were nice as well but nothing special. For our sides we had the Panko Onion Rings, Asparagus, and Whipped Potatoes. We wrapped up dinner with a few desserts being the Classic Creme Brulee, and the Bananas Foster. Our dessert was brought out with a little candle for the birthday we were celebrating. Our friends really enjoyed the desserts. On a side note, I was very excited to see that the Dry Aged Bolognese was now on the menu. We've had this item many times at the Boston location and it alone is worth the trip. Came on for my birthday dinner with my wife on a Wednesday night. The service was fantastic across the board. The star of the night though was the food. They started with fresh bread and then we split the wagyu dumplings which were absolutely delicious. For our entrees my wife got the Caesar salad and I had the Australian wagyu sirloin. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered (medium rare) and was probably the best steak I've had in my life. I've been to most higher end steakhouses in the Greater Boston area, and this one is probably my favorite. read more

What an absolute disappointment. My partner and I made a reservation tofay and upon arrival we were brought to a booth at the bar, without even being asked if it was acceptable. We were soon greeted by a wonderful waiter who served us bubbly and took our drink order. After the drinks were delivered (albeit $20 for an Old Fashioned and $24 for a half pour of Cabernet) we never saw him again. We ordered the Parmesan Truffle fries which were "meh." Basically overpriced french fries with some Parmesan truffle fuzzies on top. Then we waited and waited and waited and waited - downed our drinks... so it was about 20 minutes before we tried to catch the gaze of our initially attentive and apparent bartender. No luck. We finally grabbed a passing manager...nice woman... and asked if we could either get our waiter back or order another round, to which she offered to grab us more overpriced drinks....thank you. The wine came quickly but my 2nd OF took another nudge of a service person after about 12 minutes. And even now, no-one has yet to take our dinner order. FINALLY we got attention again from the manager and we ordered our much anticipated meal. I'm only complaining about the pricing due to the complete lack of service. Our service expectations were quite high-based on the better than Boston menu pricing. The entrees were ok-but based on the sub par service, were not not at all pleasing and left a bad taste in our mouths. We were comped the truffle fries-again thank you. The only bright spot was the young man who greeted us on the way in...the valet. He was kind, respectful and very nice and even held the door for us. On the way out, the same chap chatted us up and was wonderful. He asked how our meal was, to which I replied a gracious "great", so as not to embarrass him with what I really wanted to say "it sucked, find another employer." Ribeye was good, along with the mashed potatoes. I had ordered the broccolini and my critique would be to let diners know if a certain dish is spicy or not. This side dish was spicy and inedible! I also had the lobster bisque, I would recommend to not have the puff pastry baked right on the ceramic bowl, when I tried to break into it, it soaked the entire thing and it also lacked much flavor and was not as rich as I've had it before. Not sure if it depends on the chef but the Boston location had it separated. I requested my Caesar salad with anchovies but it did not come with anchovies. Went to Moo for the first time celebrating our Anniversary. We ordered the special of the day gnocchi, calamari, steak Frites, fillet, whipped potatoes, and broccolini. Finish the meal with their chocolate ganache cake. Everything, including the house bread was incredible. The steaks were cooked perfect and tasted amazing. The service was impeccable without feeling like your watched. The environment was comforting yet upscale. Last time I went to Abe and Louis I was disappointed. I am so glad to have enjoyed Mooo so much and will make sure to visit more often going forward. Loved it, great job! read more

Ehhh probably a 2.5/5 from me. I probably should've looked at the Yelp score before booking the reservation. Clearly a lot of kitchen dysfunction behind the scenes. Never have I ever had such an under-salted steak. I chose the dry-aged ribeye. My wife had the filet. Her feedback was the same as mine. To make matters worse our salt shaker didn't work- it appeared empty. My steak grew colder as the second salt shaker arrived which was also empty. Out of desperation I grabbed a third salt shaker off a vacant table. This one worked. In hindsight it was a bit ironic that an ultra high-end steakhouse would have salt and pepper shakers on the table in the first place. The lack of salt and seasoning across all dishes (minus the truffle fries and wagyu dumplings) provided for flavors that were completely out of balance. Side dishes were blah- mushrooms were mediocre and could've used more garlic and/or butter. Reminded me of the first time I made mushrooms :) Creamed spinach was watery and unnecessarily doused in lime juice. My advice would be to use more concentrated citrus flavoring, or even better, cut the lime juice out entirely. The mashed potatoes weren't terrible. The highlight was probably the cocktail for me. Excellent job with the CEO Manhattan. I'd definitely come back to the bar here at some point. The server was nice but wasn't intimately familiar with the menu. Commentary was light and failed to articulate the differences of the cuts. A recommendation with a certain level of conviction was desired. $325 wasted. Kind of a letdown of a highly anticipated anniversary meal. Disappointing because we don't get to eat out much anymore. Based on this experience the wife and I put Mooo a clear tier below Bancroft and Eddie V's. Sad because we enjoyed the Boston location very much. read more

Came here for date night with my husband with high expectations and we were not disappointed. We've been to the Beacon Hill and Seaport location, this location was just as good. Service was very attentive from the second we arrived , host greeted us and offered to take our coats. We were able to be sat early for our reservation which was also fantastic. Cocktails were spectacular, well balanced and not too strong. The complimentary rolls were piping hot with lots of salty soft butter on the side. I always get a filet mignon at steakhouses and mine was cooked very well, maybe a tiny bit over. All steaks are served with bone marrow butter which is a nice touch. We had the broccolini and tater tots as shared sides, the first was nice and spicy, the latter perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. We splurged on the chocolate cake for dessert which was super decadent. Bonus if this location is plenty of parking! We will be back for sure read more

I visited here on August 6th with my wife, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, and despite previous reviews we had a fantastic experience. The wait staff were attentive, informative and friendly. The meal didn't feel rushed and the atmosphere was very relaxing and elegant. We enjoyed Wagyu, the beef Wellington, and filet, all of which were cooked to our liking. My wife is pregnant and was thrilled to see they had a mock tail on the menu. I had a cocktail and a glass of wine with my entree. Everything was extremely enjoyable and tasted delicious! In reading the previous reviews we saw a lot of people complaining about the prices, and to be honest this doesn't make sense to me. Yes they are a little more expensive, but in a day and age where you can see the entire menu and pricing prior to your visit I don't see how price can be a valid complaint unless the product and service don't warrant the price. In our case, our visit was very pleasing and to us warranted the price. I will mostly likely be coming back to eat here, or at one of there other locations in the future should we seek out a fancy steakhouse dinner again. Food was great and our waitress was very nice. But we had an extremely poor experience coming in as the first reservation. We arrived at 4:55pm and were met with a huge crowd of people waiting for their tables. We were told the restaurant wasn't ready yet. Isn't it common knowledge that people arrive a few minutes before their reservation? Once the tables were ready, despite there being a row of waiters ready to act, they chose to have 1 host take each party to their table individually. This took forever and meanwhile there were about 20 people crushed into a small space. Once we arrived at the table I was handed a wine list with half of the pages missing. When I pointed it out to staff they just took it out of my hands without an apology or a replacement. Extremely poorly executed. There were high expectations going to this steakhouse. Been to a few so points of comparison were made. Service: Kim was personable and efficient. It made our visit a pleasure. Thank you Kim! Ambiance: Our party of six were seated in the room with the fireplace. Round tables are the best for socializing. The room was welcoming warm on a chilly night. Decore and high ceilings made it grand. Food: Appetizers, Dumplings and Calamari were delicious, presentation great. The presentation of the steaks was not appealing. Five of us had steaks which were served on a white plate without garnishments. Despite this fact the steaks were cooked as ordered. The ribeye had little flavor and should stand by itself without the sauces. Sides were good, one flight, onion rings and squash brulee. The squash was the star of that cast. Dessert selection was outstanding with our old favorites plus some other choices like the milk and cookies and Panna Cotta. Drinks: All our drinks were very good from Cosmo to some speciality drinks. It was impressive that there were many options for my non-drinking friend. They even had non alcoholic wine! Website: Both the Wine List and Bar Menu do not populate when chosen. I did try using my phone and tablet. In this case would you say they should not be available on the site or made to work properly? In today's world it is important to acknowledge food allergies. My wife has celiac so I wrote that in the notes upon reservation. I was pleasantly surprised Kim addressed it on our arrival which was a big plus in my book. Long time Landana fans. Also been to Mooo Beacon Hill a number of times ait was always exceptional. Ok, so Mooo Burlington. We sat reserved at the bar thinking service would be better. The bar staff was slow, distracted, forgetful. Unacceptable for a high end steakhouse. Especially annoying, partially assembling a cocktail then walking away to start a new conversation. Staff needs better training and/or supervision to keep process flowing. Food was decent, not exceptional, but in pricing yourself above Grill 23, Capital Grille, etc, you'd best deliver. They didn't. Will likely not go back. May give Mooo Seaport a try to see if it was locational. read more

Honestly if you're going to charge $23 dollars for a "CEO" Manhattan make sure it's at least strong. If I'm paying a premium for a drink I expect a full martini. This was so short it was insulting. Food is good but very expensive compared to Eddie V's, the Bancroft, and capital grill all of which are other premium steak houses in the area. I don't think it's worth the extra they charge at Mooo. We were there to celebrate our daughters birthday. This was our second time at the Burlington location and unfortunately Mooo Burlington seems to have slipped quite a bit in both food and service since our last visit. We had made the reservation a couple of months in advance so we were quite disappointed that we were squeezed into a booth right at the entrance right by where the waiters kept the water jug and dirty dishes and next to waiting area in front of the bar. Oh and surprisingly nobody bothered to check in our coats. They did ask the folks ahead of us but didn't even care to ask us. Can't say food was good at Mooo Burlington as our experience at Mooo in Boston was excellent. The steaks were OK. I tried the chicken milenesa which seemed like a watered down version of the chicken parm. What really surprised us was the Panna cotta that has a super salty sauce on top. The pudding itself was good but the sauce was terrible! Service was OK. Nothing to write home about though. Again sub par to Mooo Boston. Ambience- as expected. For us this will likely be our last time at Moo Burlington. I'd much rather pay for better food and service at their Boston location instead. . Our $300+ check for the dinner that day was certainly not worth it. Not recommended unless they up their game read more

We had an amazing experience. The ambiance and vibe are both elegant and hip. Food was outstanding, far better than any of the top rated steakhouses from the north shore to Boston that we frequent. The service was spectacular from the hostess who graciously accommodated our request to change tables to Alexis our server. Perfection! This is fine dining at its best. We went to Moo for a celebration, and made reservations 2 weeks in advance for a Friday night for 2 people. We arrived and should have been tipped off by the hostess. First of all, she didn't even know how to crack a smile and was slightly put out by trying to find our reservation because she couldn't spell our name. Despite requesting a private table or a booth- which there were plenty of available since we went early, she attempted to seat us in a row of 2 top tables that were so close together that you had to pull the table out in order to not hit the table next to you while sitting down. Because this was an anniversary celebration, we asked to be moved. We wanted to be able to have a conversation. She brought us back to the front and started talking to another party as we stood right next to the host station. As we were chatting, we were discussing how the layout of the bar had changed from the previous restaurant, and she turned around and said oh, you want to sit at the bar? We said no, we want a booth or a table that is not so close to another table. She said OK, and proceeded to take off and seat another party. Another employee came over and took menus and gestured for us to follow him. OK. Where do they seat us? At a booth in the bar. At that point we just decided to stay there because at least we had a booth and it provided a little bit of privacy. Overall I will just say that the meal was absolutely not worth what we paid for it. We got an appetizer, entrée, two soups and two sides; 3 drinks total and the bill was $352 before tip. Now, I know what you're thinking. Look at the menu first and see how expensive it is. You are right, and we did that, and we chose to eat there because it was a special celebration and obviously the food must be really good since everyone raves about it. Wrong. The lobster bisque had a beautiful puff pastry on top, but it was slightly raw underneath. The ribeye steak was ordered medium rare, but it was served on a piping hot plate, which is a great idea except for the fact that it cooked the steak to medium well in the couple of minutes that it took to get it to the table. The ribeye was thin and chewy- for 70+ dollars I would expect a ribeye to be perfectly juicy, cooked exceptionally well, have marbling and melt in your mouth. This could not have been farther from that. There was absolutely no seasoning on it, and it was bland and bordering on inedible. The service was completely disorganized. There were three different servers that were coming to our table over the course of the meal, and while I will say it was a nice touch that the manager came to the table, it was almost overkill, because so many people were at the table Every few minutes. Twice during the meal two people brought the same things to us at different times so clearly there was no communication. What was the most surprising part of all is that when we got the check and saw the price of our drinks, we thought there must be some mistake. $79 for one martini and two mixed drinks. I'm sorry, but that is absolutely ridiculous. We have eaten many times and visited the bars at all of the upscale steakhouses in the Burlington market. We have ordered similar menu items and the exact same drinks at The Bancroft, Eddie V's, and Capital Grille and they are FAR better tasting and MUCH less expensive. We went to mooo...burlington to celebrate a birthday, and at first everyone was extremely nice and welcoming, etc. After putting our food orders in, we waited 40 minutes before our waiter, Alex, came over and said there was a large party in front of us and that our food would be on the grill soon. After 40 minutes our food wasn't even on the grill!! after that, he didn't come back. He would walk right past us without saying anything about the status of our food. Finally, after waiting probably an hour, our food came out. they forgot the sauces for the steaks, and nobody came over to ask if we had everything for at least 5 minutes. We asked for a manager who didn't seem to care at all, just gave a small apology. The food was good, but we have had better. It was nothing was that amazing to where we would go back, especially with the service we had. Not to mention, we weren't the only table who felt this way about Alex. Another party was arguing with him! Never have I been somewhere, especially an expensive steakhouse, where an employee argues with a customer, but that could be my opinion (even more biased because I myself worked in the food industry). I understand things get overwhelming and he may have been having an off day, we are all human, but there was no excuse for this behavior. Another waitress came to take over the table, and it was the only thing that turned our night around. Suzanne was amazing!! She was kind and understanding and did everything she could to improve our experience. She is the only reason I am giving this one star.
