HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have been waiting for the GM, named Josh, to call me back for 2 weeks. This company doesn't care to help once they've collected payment. The first tech Keith came to diagnose our AC issues and told us our "BEST" option (most expensive) was to replace 2 parts. We paid $2k on a 10 year unit to replace the 2 parts. He left and our unit started producing a brand new hissing sound. Another tech came a week later (they were too busy to send someone right away) and he said we have a leak and recommended a $3k black light test to find the leak, which would then require more $$ to replace parts. I called another company who tested our freon levels against the noise and flat out said the condenser needs to be replaced. They also stated our first tech should have caught this with proper testing done. Ive called Moore back 4x and have been told Josh the GM would call me to discuss my options after paying $2k for parts that did not fix my AC and still waiting. I'll now be contacting BBB. There are so many HVAC options to call around here. AVOID MOORE MECHANICAL if you want proper customer service and techs that wont rip you off. read more

Where do I start. I had the worst experience with this company. I paid $1400 to have the pan replaced on my air condition. Let me tell you before they sent the technician to come check the leak in the attic and gave me estimate and said the pan needs to be replaced. They checked the unit and everything was working perfect. My technician was ulises renteria. They guy has no idea what he is doing. After I called them to do the job and they replaced the pan my air condition stop cooling. I called them back to let them know it's not working and it's the first time after all the storms In ca we just turned in for the first time after the pan was replaced which was 2 months ago. They said oh let me send our senior tech Shawn encinas out there. When Shawn arrived he had no idea. He never went in attic to check the air condition and the work previously done by ulises. After me requesting him multiple times to please go in attic and check he declined and said I am not going to waist my time. I can't tell you why it's not working so I will have my manager call you. Here I am 3 weeks later and no follow up no calls nothing at all. This is horrible customer service. And expect them to resolve this. Hopefully I will hear back because they have messed up my air condition. I don't recommend this company at all. read more

I was notified by text on Saturday that the technician was on his way, including a photo of who to expect. Jair was friendly, respectful, efficient. He explained what he did and showed me photos of what needed to be done to both heating and a/c units. I'm very happy with the service Moore Mechanical has provided me over the years. Our company, A Better Way Inc. here in Berkeley had some water damage resulting in major restoration work. While workers were replacing the floors it was discovered that we had water in some ducts underneath preventing them from replacing the floor. I contacted Moore Mechanical, explained the urgency of the repair to Miguel and he personally came out to give an on the spot estimate and guess what, the work was done the same day by one of his technicians, Hedayatullah who was extremely efficient. Moore Mechanical offered a fair price for the repair and was able to get the job done the same day so the replacement of the floor could resume on schedule. We will definitely use them again for our HVAC needs! read more

Disappointing. The $89 tune-up turned out to be an inspection, not a tune-up. All the tech did, after making it very clear that I was not to watch over his shoulder, was open a couple of metal panels, look over the inside of the furnace, close everything up, take my credit card info for the $89 fee and give me a print-out showing work needed that came to almost $300. He had apparently chosen not to show me evidence of the needed work when the furnace was open. He said the office would email me a detailed estimate plus a receipt. That was several weeks ago and I am still waiting. A waste of money. read more

Life Changing! My giant 16 year old, through the wall Carrier unit stopped working. I had Mitsubishi ceiling cassette mini-splits installed in 3 rooms last April when it was 103 on day 1 and 108 on day 2. In spite of the excessive heat with no A/C, Moore Mechanical did an Amazing Job! Their construction is clean and the Team was polite and considerate over a two day install and everyone wore masks. My electrical box was upgraded and for the extensive amount of construction done, the units looked like they have always been in the ceiling. A few notes: It will be very dusty so it is a good idea to hold off on any professional house cleaning until the job is done. The guys cleanup everyday but there will still be layers of dust. If all the mini splits are on, they only work on the same setting. So, you cannot have A/C on in one room and heat on in the other. Only one unit will work and the other will go dormant. The Mitsubishi remotes are big and clunky but I haven't had any issues. I was originally going to have Kumo Cloud installed in all 3 units but decided to go with the living room only. I'm glad I did, Kumo Clouds technology is a bit slow and it wasn't worth the extra cost. The ceiling cassettes and the large power unit outside are whisper quiet, so other than feeling the air, you would never know they are on. I went through the summer with 100+ degree weather and California fires and I had moments where I had to put on a sweater because the air was so cold in the house and there was no indication that the outside air was full of smoke. Also, please have your technicians, caulk around the mini-split seals so they look flushed to the ceiling. I had Moore come back out to do this. The one experience I didn't enjoy was in the contracting process. You have 3 days to to cancel the contract after signing. But, when I received the contract it was already dated. So if you miss a day in signing, you have already lost a day to cancel. It's a bit disingenuous as the contract should be dated at the time of signing (this can be easily done in Docusign). I had the contract reissued when I was ready to sign to make sure I had the full three days to cancel. Be aware of this and make sure the date reflects when you sign the document. I didn't receive information on the permit process during the install. But after, I received a letter from the city to schedule the inspection. When the inspector showed up, I didn't have a ladder to access the attic. I had to reschedule the inspection and Moore dropped off a ladder (Thank you). Please be mindful that you will need to make sure the inspector has access to any area to be inspected prior to scheduling the appointment. I highly recommend Moore to inform their customers on next steps after the install, it was a little confusing if you haven't been through it before. Lastly, I would HIGHLY encourage everyone to order with Moore Mechanical and hopefully you will be lucky enough to get the Dream Team: Brooke for scheduling, and the Technicians: Francisco (Lead), Juan and Richard! You will be extremely satisfied! *** One note to readers about being good humans....These guys work really hard to install a life changing unit in your home that will be enjoyed for many years. They work full days so PLEASE, Treat them with Respect and allow them to use the restroom and at a minimum offer them water. A little kindness goes a long way!! read more

AC does not blow out cold air at my condo and I cannot access my AC unit due to HOA rules. Therefore, self diagnostic is not an option. Got Moore Mechanical's number from HOA office visitor sign in form to ensure someone who is familiar with this community for the service. Technician Ron was very nice easy to work with. He was able to quickly diagnos the issue after checking thr AC unit on roof top and shown me the pictures of bad capacitor and contactor. Provided estimate with two options and I selected the essential replacement option in order to get the cool air again. The job was done on the same visit and AC works well so far (fix done today). Payment and paper works are electronic so quick and convenient. I am satisfied with the service overall but would have been better if diagnostic charge can used as credit for the repaire since you have first identify the problem in order to fix it. read more

We have been customers of Moore Mechanical for about 8 years and really appreciate them to service our HVAC and water heater. We are under contract with them for 2/x servicing and could not be happier. I absolutely LOVE our Moore Mechanical service technician, Joseph Poquiz. He is personable, professional, and a terrific technician. I am convinced we have extended the life of our furnace because of the care Joseph takes with it. We trust our HVAC to no one but Joseph. I understand that HVAC companies are in high demand especially during the summer season and labor costs reflect that but beware. I had Moore Mechanical come out to diagnose a faulty TXV, cost for the service visit was $125. When I scheduled the repair, I was told that the repair would take between 3 and 4 hours of labor to complete. The initial estimate for the repair included replacing the part (which was covered under warranty!), pumping down the system, replacing the part and recharging the system with the recovered refrigerant. The estimate also included the installation of a new drier filter, torch materials, etc. Technician showed up at the scheduled time, he pumped down and evacuated the refrigerant. He then went to the attic to replace the TXV, which took no longer than 20 minutes. The TXV is threaded in, so no soldering required. The tech who diagnosed the issue, should have noticed the TXV can be replaced rather quickly. He then vacuumed the system and released the charge. He completed the entire job in under 2 hours, which is great, but I should not have been charged for 3-4 hours of work. I also asked the tech about the drier filter that was on the estimate, he replied that it does not have to be replaced. Why was I charged for the filter and the labor? The tech basically said, if I want the new filter, he needs to start the work all over. Well, it was part of the estimate, and he should have replaced it right away before recharging the system and me asking about it. No soldering labor was performed, and no soldering material was used for the entire job. He reduced the final invoice because he was able to use the recovered R-410. The final charge for the job was $2,000, no materials used and considering the part was under warranty, this is outrageous for a 2-hour job. I tried to contact their billing department several times to have them explain and itemize the invoice, but (shockingly) every time I called, I am told they are not available, and they would return my call. Still waiting for that. Also, the final invoice lists 2 technicians, but there was only one on site. I am very unhappy about their nontransparency in their estimate and invoice, everything seems to be baked into one job to replace a part, no matter how long it takes. Well, this time it was $1,000 an hour labor. 35 years in the business or not, think again hiring this company. read more
