Met my old boss here for dinner tonight. He had the full rack of ribs, I had the chicken special. He said the ribs were really good, and I enjoyed the chicken, although it could have been cooked for just a tad less time. The place has a nice bar and they have indoor and outdoor seating, which given that it was almost 70 degrees in early November in Pennsylvania, was a good option. The place was crowded and I saw a lot of people picking up takeout. I talked to some people at the bar while I was waiting for him, and they told me the burgers, ribs, and seafood dishes are really good. I had wanted to try the seafood special, but they were all sold out by the time I got there at 7 pm. All in all, recommended if you're in the area - and it's right off the Lebanon exit of I-81. read more

Moose's is a great place to eat and food times were really quick. Prices were pretty reasonably cheap. Everyday after work Moose's was the place to be. The ambiance of the place is pretty laid back but the place does get packed really fast. Special shout out to my servers Savannah and Hannah for making us feel welcome during our stay. This is nice little spot in an otherwise boring rural/military town. In the Spring/Summer, the best part about this place is the large, spacious back deck. The outdoor seating capacity is much greater than most places. They have a full bar and food service outside. You can also watch the many helicopters taking off from the nearby airfield (thus "Moose's LZ") The front bar has pool, darts, and a jukebox. There are separate dining rooms which you can reserve for groups and events. The have a pretty robust menu and great beer selection for a small town restaurant. The menu ranges from cheap appetizers and sandwiches to $20 steaks and ribs. My favorite item is the wings. They offer many different flavors and you can mix and match so you don't have to commit to one. The crowd tends to have people from all over the country due to the nearby military training site. read more

Not a bad place at all especially being one of the few places around The Gap to grab some food and because of this you will find many service members here eating. Typical bar/restaurant food with burgers, wings and sandwiches. They have a bunch of different flavors for their wings, try something new I tried the honey mustard wings which were pretty good. The food takes a bit of time to come out than some other places so this is a bit of an inconvenience, if you're just trying to grab a quick lunch maybe call ahead. They have plenty of seating which is good. Grab a table, sit at the bar or enjoy the outside with their huge deck which even has fans outside for the warmer days. Overall, not a bad spot especially regarding location but your typical bar/restaurant place. read more

Loved it the, so we went out of our way to "re-locate" it for another try on our way north this time. It did not disappoint, other than not taking American Express. I really enjoyed my meal at Moose's LZ! It's amazing how a gem can be right under your nose for years and never know about it. Moose's LZ is a restaurant / bar very close to the military base at Indiantown Gap. They have a variety of burgers, bar food, and wings as well as entrees. When the weather is nice they also have a nice outdoor bar and deck which is where we sat. They also have a good beer and beverage selection. I ordered the smokehouse melt sandwich which was sliced prime rib with cheese onions bacon and bbq sauce. It was really amazing and huge.. I could hardly finish it. Everyone else was very happy with their food and the service was very good. Even the kids were happy with their kids meals. I will definitely be returning! read more

Just stopped on the way home to Long Island... I never leave reviews but I'm always one to read them. The food was so dang good I felt it was necessary to share my thoughts. We ordered the farm burger, chicken quesadillas, wings and the original Mac and cheese. Each plate was better & better. The Mac & cheese was the best I think I have ever had in my 40 years. My boyfriends 14 yr old son said this was the best restaurant he's ever been to (he had the quesadilla)! We will be back at some point! read more

Stopped here on our drive back from NC with multiple families. The food was great, the staff was fabulous and super accommodating. OK, coming to a restaurant in the middle of PA after seeing really no one on the roads and staying in a hotel that was relatively empty, I was really amazed by Moose's LZ. It reminds me of one of those old bars in an old 70's or 80's movie (think Road House but with good food and no bar fights). The wife and I were shocked by the number of cars and motorcycles parked there after driving through backwoods and seeing fireflies everywhere to seeing a really lively joint with good loud music and great smell pouring out. Being a Friday night, they had a special on Ciders, which was awesome since I like them. Ended up having 2 ciders for less than what I normally pay for 1 which is winning in my book. We ordered the loaded Perrogis and they were great. Tons of cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, and chives. I didn't need anything to go with these things. My wife ordered the Queen Prime Rib (12 oz) and could only finish half. Usually she hates steak at restaurants since I usually cook them a perfect Medium Rare and use pretty high quality meat. However, she really enjoyed the prime rib here. I had a bite and admit it was pretty good. I ordered the crab cakes and at $22 for 2 I thought it was a little over priced when I ordered. I admit after having them, they are not overly breaded, about 95% crab meat, and not the stuffing based monsters you get else where. They are worth every penny you pay for them and I really enjoyed them with perfectly steamed broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes. If you find yourself staying down the road from this place, it is worth a stop. I would not drive out of your way for it, but definitely worth hitting up if you are in the area. Of all the places we looked at nearby, this one is definitely a hit with the locals. read more

Went here after spending time Hershey Park. Under a half-hour away, has a wonderful outdoor space in the back---a bar on a deck with a bunch of tables. Good selection of food choices to please a couple of teenagers; good selection of draft beer to please a tired 50-something Dad. The kids liked it so much they asked to go back the following night. I got the ribs the first night and the "private stock" cheeseteak over salad the second night; both were very good. Portions are almost too big. Shared deck fires-very tasty. The teens had French dip (ok, but not great) and chicken caesar first night and then Cuban sandwich, Caesar salad and boneless chicken wings second night. Sadly, my dad recently passed away in January 2015. It was a long process, but eventually he was put to rest at Fort Indiantown Gap's Veteran Cemetery. How it relates to my review is based on location. Moose's is very close to the cemetery so after visiting my dad one Saturday, I stopped here for lunch. It's essentially a bar, but they do offer a bit more of a select than most bars do. Almost a little too much as I didn't know what to order initially. Sentimentally, I decided on a cheese steak (it's what my dad would have ordered) and my company went with one as well. The sandwiches were good, mine being Moose's special recipe and my company having the buffalo chicken, so I can't complain about the food. In retrospect however, I decided to opt out of the chips and upgraded to an order of deck fries. The fries were absolutely fantastic, but when I asked whether it would be cheaper to order the appetizer or simply upgrade I think their math was a little off. They also charged to add onion and cheese to the chili which seemed a bit stingy on their part. Overall, 2 people having cheese steaks cost about $30. They were good, but I've had better for less. If you do eat here though, I wholeheartedly recommend the deck fries. read more

Dined on 11/05/11 So my dilemma, do I rate this place a 4 because it was great for what was available in the area, or do I rate it a 3 because really that was the quality of the food and service didn't deserve a 4. I would love to give them a 3.5 because they deserve more than a 3 but less than a 4. If you find yourself at Fort Indiantown Gap, or FIG as all us National Guard and Reservists fondly call the base, Moose's LZ (nonmilitary types LZ means Landing Zone), as the restaurant is not far from the Army Airfield and runway. The restaurant has a main bar room on entry, and they have a dining room off the bar room for quieter get togethers. Lots of TVs and even a pool table and digital jukebox. The fare was good, not spectacular though. My steak while not cooked 100% the way I wanted it, it was still tender and delicious. I found that when I asked for heavy sour cream for my baked potato I was charged an extra 50 cents and each person in our party was charged extra for any condiment. As example my fellow officer ordered a steak sandwich Au jus (pit-beef sandwich) and had to pay 50 cents for the horseradish. The beer tasted great, and was cold, but the mugs a little on the small side, but still considering my alternative was to eat military dining/chow hall food. So if you find yourself on I-81 near FIG and are hungry, this place is worth stopping. But I wouldn't drive out of my way to come here. So, when I come back to FIG for military training and I have my vehicle, I will come for dinner again. My biggest complaint is that Verizon needs better tower service in the area because I needed to go outside to check in on Yelp...LOL. read more

You can not go wrong here. Everything i ever tried has been delish! Today i got the honey mustard chicken sandwich with mushrooms, onions and bacon. Yummy! With a side of waffle fries. My nephew got the apache burger with jalepinos, bacon and hot sauce. He said it was making him cry. Lol what did the boy expect?!?! The pork BBQ meal with baked beans was said to be the bomb. Great food and it was a great day to sit on the deck after kayaking. Do yourself a favor, take the bike out and ride here for some lunch or dinner. read more

Came here to celebrate a holiday lunch with family. Our usual place that we go to is closed on Sundays, so we decided to give Moose's a try. I'm so glad we wound up here! The restaurant is nice and spacious, the staff was able to accomodate our 7 people immediately, and we were all comfortable around the table. Everyone enjoyed their food, and there is a wide variety of food that can please everyone. I had seen from previous reviews that the burgers and homemade chips were the way to go, so I got the Farm Burger (grilled sourdough bread, 8oz beef burger, jack and cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and an over easy egg). It was enormous and fantastic and I ate every last bite. The wait staff was really attentive and helpful. As a large group, they brought over a carafe of water - and refilled glasses and the carafe as needed. We ordered a few beers and cocktails and they all came out in a reasonable amount of time. Overall, absolutely great experience. We will be trying this place again for one of our "meet in the middle" lunches - I am especially excited to eat "kick ass deck fries" on their spacious-looking deck. read more

Just outside the gate of Fort Indiantown Gap, this recently renovated bar also serves a big menu of bar and not so bar foods. If you are coming to drink beer and play pool, this is your place. There is a rumor that they may have started serving liquor, but none was in evidence during my visit. The kitchen exceeds expectations. I had a surprisingly fresh soup and an inventive steak salad. Tasted some awesome cheese fries and the sauce on the wings was non-standard but delicious. I'd give them four stars for the food alone, but this really is a just rowdy country bar that just happens to have a decent kitchen tacked on to it. They really do bar food well-just not really my kind of place. Lots of military types due to location and by design. Male/female ratio is heavily skewed. read more
