The owner of this pizza place defended his drivers' RIGHT to park in handicapped spaces when I called to complain. I even mentioned that his driver was buying a pack of cigarettes, not delivering pizza. I ordered from them once. NEVER AGAIN. The only thing good about the pizza was that it was so cold that the rancid sausage didn't stink up the house. Simply disgusting, and overpriced. I work the night shift at one of the hospitals in downtown New Haven. I don't buy take-away food very often, but tonight I came into work famished. There are 2 or 3 pizza restaurants open past midnight during the week, and More Than Pizza was one of them. I only chose this place, because they had a veggie wrap (lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, olives, onions, peppers, spinach, and cheese) which sounded good. My two co-workers ordered (1) A 6-piece chicken fingers plate, and (2) a small Greek Salad. The food smelled great coming up. First my chicken finger co-worker opened his, and the chicken fingers were roughly the size of pink gum erasers! There were 6 in the tray, and the tray was $6!!! Are you kidding me?? And my wrap, while a normal size, was served HOT and it was completely soggy, falling apart, and DRENCHED/DRIPPING in grease. I ate about two bites, because I was famished, but I couldn't stomach any more. Then of course I tried my fries. They were cold and soggy. The pickle on the side was hot and greasy. DISGUSTING. I threw 95% of the platter out. The greek salad was okay, but then again how do you mess up throwing some salad in a styrofoam box? I would never purchase food from this place again. Their pizza might be good, but I wouldn't even take that chance on them. Now, some might be thinking "What do you expect for take-away after midnight?" but that's no excuse. This is New Haven. You should be able to, and can, get good take-away late at night. Just not from this place!! Giving them even the 1-star rating that I did seems awfully nice. read more

I'm leaving an extremely positive review just to boost the impression. The place delivers fast and has no fuss about making up mistakes in the order. I can order from them again and again and be confident about the food I'm getting. Unlike some places that don't seem to try their own food, More Than Pizza makes the best parmigiana dinners with fresh salad and bread, tasty luscious milkshake and highly satisfying pizzas. There isn't a lot of places open at night around New Haven, not to mention late delivery. What more can you ask from a late night diner? My life is better because of them. read more

I was trying to be nice during COVID because I know it is tough on businesses, but after reading reviews from before this pandemic even existed with the same complaint that I had, I figured that i mine as well share my story. So I work at the hospital a few minutes away and work nights, so at 1am they were one of the only places open so we ordered from there. I immediately got a confirmation, however I waited over an hour for my food. I also got an email about 45 minutes after ordering thanking me for my service and they hoped my food was good; meanwhile I NEVER GOT MY FOOD. So finally the food arrives a little after 2am. I walk outside and the delivery guy (there own delivery guy, not through a third party delivery service) was superrrr creepy. Waved to me to reach in the car and get my bags, then said "you look really young, how old are you?" Like maybe he was trying to be nice but we are in downtown NH at 2am, I was extremely caught off guard and felt as if it was inappropriate and ran inside. My order wasn't 100% accurate, I ordered a chocolate milkshake and received an Oreo milkshake (it was for a coworker and she didn't like it). Also ordered a meatball sub and it was the worst sub I've ever had, I couldn't even finish it. I went on to share my experience with others who had said that this place was horrible. Gave 2 stars bc I feel as if my experience could've been worse but I am extremely disappointed and will not return. read more

Another recent graduate out of the area (OWLS!) &I have to say .... Bless the Sandwich box for some very good dinner moments!! Sometimes the sandwiches were a little greasy but the food is good here. I know that some people prefer their pizzas over their non-pizza menu but their sandwiches/wraps/salads are pretty decent. You want decent grub for an okay price, they take hoot loot cards (SCSU), so if you don't have cash on you, you can use your card (just tip them a few singles when they drop it off). Love their Antipasto Salad! Goes great with the sandwich box! Gonna miss not being able to order from them anymore. read more

Very disappointed by this place. We waited over an hour for our food after the delivery time was stated as 40 minutes. About 35 minutes after we ordered, I received an email saying they hope I enjoyed my food...only we hadn't even gotten the food yet. We waited another 15 minutes after the email & still no food. I called the restaurant & they said it'd be leaving in the next 1-2 minutes...which didn't seem true because all together it took about an hour & 15 minutes for us to receive our food. We didn't even get a lot of food either, it was 2 paninis & an order of mozzarella sticks. When the food arrived, it wasn't even good. The fries were soggy & tasteless. The paninis weren't as described on the menu..for example the Torino panini had basil leaves on it rather than pesto sauce like the menu states. I had asked for a side of ranch that I never received. The mozzarella sticks were okay...but the marinara sauce seemed so watered down. I definitely won't be ordering from here again. read more

Terrible customer service. I asked for a plain bacon cheeseburger and they delivered my burger with mayonnaise on it. Mind you, this isn't the first time they have made this mistake. So, i called back asking for a new burger and his response was.. "Maybe it's melted cheese. My chef told me for sure that he didn't put any mayonnaise on the burger." So, i became irate because I'm sitting here looking at the mayonnaise and my boyfriend tried it and confirm that it was indeed mayonnaise. He suggested he drive over here to take a look on the sandwich so he can see it for himself. Instead of just correcting his mistake and giving me what I paid for. My boyfriend was extremely upset and he doesn't let a lot of things bother him but the service was awful. read more

Great food for the price point, varied menu, and excellent service have endeared these fellows to me for many years. This is not your standardized blah pizza service like Domino's but some handsome Turkish brothers who really know their way around a kitchen. I'd eat their Special Pizza anytime. I ordered online for delivery. I found them reasonably priced for what you got. I ordered a greek salad, checkin fingers and curly fries. The delivery came at a reasonable time. The guy that delivered was kind and loved my dog and little kids. The crispy chicken tenders were huge and one order fed both my kids. My kids liked it more than any other place so we definitely will order from here again. The salad was alright. It was packed with marinated chicken that was tender and deliciously seasoned. The only thing is, is that I didn't get the mentioned olives but that's alright and the iceberg lettuce was subpar. Thankfully the chicken made up for it. read more

This pizza place really gave me the run around for no reason. I do not understand why their employees and the person answering the phone gave me such a hard time. He deliberately took my order, took my credit card number, and said my credit card got declined when I clearly had money in there. When I called back with a different number, then he wanted to claim that he could not take my order. Why did he have to do all that extraness when he could have just told me that he couldn't take my order. Now my credit card information is with this employee and I'm uneasy about it. For what it is, I actually think this place executes pretty well. I use it mostly for sub delivery and I find the subs to be quite good. They always get the order right; the food is delivered in a reasonable amount of time; it's not pricey; and the food tastes good. The bbq chicken cutlet sub and the curly fries are my staples...but that's only if you are trying to eat healthy(?) I've never been to the actual location so can't really comment otherwise. read more

I ordered Penne Ala Gorgonzola. It was instead over cooked ziti, there was no asparagus, sauce was tasty, at $9.95 I expected better. The garlic bread was good and the side salad was fresh. I will try one more time with something different and see. read more

I used to come to this place everyday when I was in college last semester. Anyways last night I went there after about a couple months and I dined in had a slice of pizza it was great. I ordered a small chef salad to go and by the time I got home to eat the salad I'm eating it digging in. I stuck my fork in for some more when I noticed a piece of light brown hair in my salad. After that I lost it giving the fact that i have black long hair not short brown hair, i will not be eating from there ever again. That's so fucking gross and disgusting. GET HAIR NETS, just because there are guys in the kitchen does not mean they shouldn't have to wear hair nets. This place is awesome. We order from there all the time. We never had issues like what Kate was saying. We order almost everything from the menu, and every time it comes hot and fresh. Every order comes in big portions and enough to fill up a person or two. Kate was saying chicken fingers came in 6 pieces and for $6, but what do you expect 20 for $6? These are appetizers, they can't do anything about that. Price is normal if you ask me, look at the other places, and if you come to think of why the prices are high think about the economy. I give these guys 5 stars all around!!! The food is great and always fresh!!! The salads look as if everything was hand picked at the time of your order and the buffalo wings.... U have to try! Do not order from here. I ordered a simple half cheese/mushroom pizza and the delivery pizza man hung up on me 4 times and told me that he was not going to deliver.
