The chef even came to greet us (friend of friend), and had explained a few of the delicious dishes. Got calamari, shrimp, octopus salad, oysters, and baked oysters were so fresh. The baked oysters? Pure buttery magic. We ordered more. Instead of waking in the middle of night for water, get the midnight pasta. This dish was so good with braised short rib. Probably my 2nd most favorite dish here. Add lemon juice for more zest. The caesar salad was sauced the sauce up. And then there was this Spanish prosciutto special. My best friend and I ate here last night, this would be my 3rd time returning back to morella. Food was excellent as it usually was but towards the end of dinner a MOUSE revealed itself by our table! We immediately jumped up and moved away from the table screamed/yelled. Our server came over did not apologize said they'd tell and get the manager, manager never came over to see us, speak, nor apologize. It was distastefully done not trying to speak to us, but had the never to hand over a bill and say they comped dessert. We will NEVER be back, and it sucks because this is what we considered a solid establishment once upon a time. We both have businesses in San Francisco as well and understand how this is a public health matter, issue, and concern. As well as a duty as a business owner to take care of such. I came to Morella last night for one of their soft opening nights and had a great experience overall! The vibes inside were lively with fun decor and colors and upbeat pop music. There's lots of seating options, from large booths, bar seating, tables, and high tops. I loved the menu, the theme is Argentinian Italian fusion so they had a wide range of dishes from pastas, steaks, sausages, empanadas, etc. A lot of the restaurants in the area are solely Italian so it's nice to have more diversity in food options here! For food we ordered the bone marrow, sliders, sausages, and lamb bolognese. I thought the prices were pretty reasonable compared to other spots in the area, most of the pasta dishes were under $25 and the lamb bolognese had a huge portion of meat. I thought the food was good, nothing extraordinary but good for the price and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Will definitely be coming back to try more of their extensive menu! read more

The wait staff is incredible! I've been here twice now, and each time my waiter / waitress were very attentive, thorough, and just all around amazing! 3. The hostess however forces me to knock my rating down. She did not look up at me once as I was checking in for my reservation, and her tone was annoyed, as if I was inconveniencing her. Morella is a fun spot with cute decor and colors. But unfortunately the food didn't really live up to the ambiance. The shrimp Alfredo pasta was undercooked and hard which made it unpleasant to eat. Also our waiter was pretty pushy and kept recommending the most expensive steaks on the menu which felt off. However, when the owner came by and we talked to him, he really turned the experience around. He was professional, kind, and we could tell he genuinely wanted to make things right. When he found out about the pasta, he gave us a panna cotta on the house (which was delicious) and even offered us another pasta to go which we couldn't take it with us but the gesture was very nice. We came here for a light lunch on my birthday since we were in the area and I had seen this place on TikTok. Obviously first off, the decor and interior was absolutely stunning, so colorful and bright and fun! We also tried the carbonara and garlic bread for carbs which was enough to split for two people. The service is good, but because it was so loud the server didn't get our drink order right. We had the bone marrow and Frito misto for appetizer. I am not a huge salad girl in general but I loved this! Green Apple & pomegranate was such a great combo. The midnight pasta was good but nothing amazing. I think it needed a little bit more flavor honestly. We ended up getting cannolis for dessert but it was definitely not tasting like a cannoli lol. Midnight Pasta 8.3/10 - it was good! the entree came out smaller than we expected, and could've used a little more braised beef, but it was okay since we had a lot of other dishes. Shoestring fries 7/10 - the fries were fries, good shareable for the table of 3-4. I don't consider these to be shoestring fries though. Rib-Eye Steak 6/10 - cooked medium, chewier than we expected, looks better than it tastes. based on the price we wouldn't order it again. Bone marrow 6/10 - I need my bone marrow to melt in my mouth or melt when spread on toast. Neither happened so the texture was off for me.
