Javier is awesome and has saved me twice already! The first time I got locked out I had been running and my stupid key somehow fell out of my running pouch. Luckily my neighbors were home and let me use their phone, so I called Javier and he came withing a few minutes. He was able to get the door unlocked pretty easily. The second time I also lost my key running. These damn running pouches suck!! Javier came within 15 minutes and I was in my house in about 20 minutes. Javier showed up on time as requested for tenant eviction. Sheriff was late 20 mins so he patiently waited indicating sheriffs are usually late. All In time (time showed up to leaving property) was 45 min. Claimed that the type of residential lock was not pickable after poking at it less than one minute. He opened the unit by essentially just jamming a flat head screwdriver and busted the lock and opened it in less than 5 seconds. I saw one Yelp reviewer paid $85 to unlock AND re keyed with 2 new keys with NO wait time fee (he had to wait per this Yelp review). My initial quote was $85 plus $18 to re key. On top of that, because the sheriff was late 20 minutes he charged $15 "wait time" which was not disclosed to me in the initial quote. At the end of the less than one hour process, I was out $100 and a busted unusable lock which cost me another $50 to replaced myself. Not recommended. read more

We asked Javier to come by to replace some locks and rekey them to our existing key. He was here within 45 minutes and did an amazing job. Done in about 30 minutes and charged a reasonable rate. Unfortunately, i was not clear on the kind of lock I wanted. When i asked him to come back, he graciously returned the next day, working around my schedule. And he did this with NO FOLLOW UP COST! I waited 1.5 hours for the incompetent Lion Security Locksmith to bump my lock to the point of no return from ever being professionally picked. Even so. Javier spent 30 minutes properly picking my lock with picks and all kinds of crazy Ocean's 11 skills, so that he would not have to drill my lock. Javier saved my day! He made me 2 car keys within 1.5 hours with no key to copy from. I lost my car key at a Ralph's and I called AAA. AAA gave me two options: 1) Tow my car to the nearest dealership so I can have a key made, or 2) they can send their own locksmith for $350. I chose number one because I called a dealership that promised to make me a key for $140. Sounded like a good deal. EXCEPT THAT once my car was towed there, they changed their story and said they couldn't help me. It was late, and I called up Moreno--Javier walked me through what he needed, including good light to work on my car. I told him it was getting dark and we could try the next day. I called him the next day and sure enough he showed up, and saved me money and trouble. He had to take my lock out to make me the key, going through all the trouble getting the code for the microchip when the dealership said they wiped out all that information from their system. He was extremely nice and courteous throughout the whole ordeal even though nothing was working for us. I ended up having 2 working keys for my car to open the door and for the ignition, for $225. Locksmiths have you over a barrel. This is what was going through my mind as I stood outside the locked door of the apartment I was moving into. The key was on the kitchen counter, the breeze had shut the door, and we had a truck full of stuff at the curb. We needed someone close and fast so I called Moreno Mobile Locksmith after finding them through Yelp and agree to pay the $70 fee. Less than 10 minutes later Javier rolls up in his van and tries to get in through the back security door but it appears that there's a broken key in there. We're able to get in the front door after the property manager shows up with a key. Do you know how much Javier tries to charge us? Nothing. He's prepared to walk away without payment. But instead of just taking money when we protest, he offers to rekey the door with the broken key in it for only $40. We also get a few copies of the key made to try and prevent future occurrences of this episode. This guy was polite, fair, and did a great job. I hope I never need a locksmith again but I know who I will call should the need arise. read more

So, we lost our car key, had no spare. After a long day of things not going right, we got a tow to a dealership who could not do anything. Left car there overnight, next morning we called Javier. Javier showed up and had a lot of problems with the vehicle (not his fault, our vehicle is probably really finnicky.) I think Mr Murphy of Murphy's Law showed up and gave him a hard time. He dealt with everything calmly, and he was very courteous, and an all round nice guy. I got a sense that he was a perfectionist. Not one to cut corners because he seemed to take pride in his work. I called AAA to get a locksmith for my Saab with a key broken in the ignition. None of AAA's contracted locksmiths were willing to work on a Saab because they were afraid of the ignition! AAA told me to find my own service and they would reimburse me and that's where Moreno came into play. Javier was flexible and timely and did the job with no fuss. Even though he had never worked on a Saab before, his keys worked great the first time and didn't have to be bent and flexed into place like the key another locksmith made for this car (which is the reason the key broke in the first place). His fee is surprisingly low, too, given how good his service is. If you need a mobile locksmith and AAA can't find one (or if you want to pay to get someone reputable), Javier is your man. read more

I love Javier!! Even though we never got the key to work (my alarm kept going off and he said that prevented him from programming the key) he is soooooo nice. I think I called him at around 11am or so.. He came within 30 minutes. He was able to cut a key for my 2000 Nissan, but couldn't program it because of external factors. That's not his fault so I understand. The reason why I'm giving Javier 5 stars is because he: - stayed with me for 1.5 hrs - tried different measures to get the key to work - reassured me everything would be OK - charged seriously 34532x less than the dealership (ended up paying $400 fml) - even though I took up his up his time, he charged me nothing!! He suggested that I call other people to turn the alarm off and whatnot.. I ended up not using him and going through the bullshit dealership because i/ucla friends didn't know w how to disable an aftermarket alarm. The dealership ended up charging me $400 ( $300 to make the key and program it, extra $100 to take out the alarm).. Javier said that if the job would have been done, he only would have charged me $60. He's seriously a god send. ~back story if you wanna read ~ So I was stuck in Westwood for a good week Cuz I fucking lost my keys. I went to la to join my friend on their undie run, and though I never brought my keys to the event, I ended up losing them. I placed then in my purse, alongside my keys and flip-flops. Kept taking out my phone, which is quite large, and in my slightly drunken state (prolly buzzin but not drunk) I guess my car keys fell on the floor and I didn't hear them. From 4am (Cuz I needed to go home then) til about 7am, some friends helped me look for the keys but to no avail. When I wanted to tow my car, fucking LA put these fucking storage boxes in front of my vehicle. Called the storage box ppl at 4pm and they told me their drivers went home for the day. So I spent another day in LA, living off of takeout and showering from one friend's apt to the next. As my windows were partially down, some kind Westwood inhabitants offered aid to push my windows down. From that day, I realized that some people are genuinely kind and like to help others in need. It's nice. After a trip from LA to oc and back (after the unprogrammed key was picked up) I finally brought the incomplete spare to the shitty dealership. Javier is the best locksmith that I've ever encountered. The first time I used his services, it was at a Rite-Aid parking lot and he was QUICK. I called him today to inquire about 40 keys that needed to be made and also asked if he would be able to cut a Master Lock that we lost the key to. He said he could arrive within an hour and bring his grinder to cut the lock for me. As promised, he showed up and brought a lock-picking kit with him. He had that thing unlocked in about 3 minutes and proceeded to make working keys for it! Our keys were made lighting fast and it was a pleasant experience over all. The first time he ever helped me was on Christmas Eve. I was leaving my house with presents in hand and as my front door shut behind me I realized I didn't have my keys. Thinking my Christmas Eve was over I called Javier as a long shot to see if he could help me out. HE SHOWED UP IN 5 MINUTES!!! Sure enough he was able to get me in my place and saved the day.
