Service - 1.5/5. The cashier was not welcoming or helpful at all, but she is just doing her job = get money. Ambience - 1.5/5. No ambience. It's a small, non-welcoming shop. Food - 2.5/5. Don't get your expectations up. Nothing is bad, but nothing is special either. You can probably get the similar level of buns at any dim sum places. Out of all the 4 savory buns and 3 sweet buns, we liked the salted egg custard the best. That one is worth coming back for. Sesame one was our least favorite because it wasn't moist at all and was kinda bitter. Any buns with pork pretty much tasted exactly the same. So just pick one pork and one beef if you want a different flavor. Maho tofu one was not bad, but not great either. They also have cold side dishes (some sort of Chinese veggie dishes, chicken feet, beef) besides these buns, but we didn't try it. Overall, we'd come back if we're in the area and hungry for a quick bite, but otherwise no need to make your way to come here.

The buns are sooo good! The outside dough is soft and fluffy and the savory filling inside is packed with flavor. They also manage to keep the filling super moist inside. The buns are $2.19 each or $19.99 if you buy 20. They are huge and such a great deal. I would pass on the fresh soy milk though, it had a weird taste to it. P.S: As of April 2024, they no longer offer the beef rolls or sweet buns.

We saw this place as we passed by and decided to check them out. They are new and replaced a bakery that was once there. The main focus here is the buns, but they are putting refrigerated food items as well. They had a selection of 12 buns (8 savory and 4 sweet). We got all of them to tried. My favorite out of the savory ones were actually the vegetarian ones as they were more memorable for me but all of them were pretty good. The buns not too thick, the filling is a mixed, some had a lot of fillings while others didn't. The sweet ones were also good. My favorite was definitely the salted egg custard one. Do wish there was more custard but it was yummy. My second favorite was the black sesame one and they definitely filled that one. If you like black sesame, this one is definitely a good one. It is $1.79/bun or 15.99/10 buns. So the price is not bad. Definitely not a sit down area but good for grab and go.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was recommended to try the hot fresh soymilk and I loved it! The baos are very affordable and delicious.

This newly opened place specializes in handmade steamed buns. They offer a wide variety of fillings from sweet taro to savory meat-filled and vegetarian options. It's a great option for a quick snack or meal. Overall, the buns are good - fresh and quite filling. They are running a promo and you can choose 10 buns for $16, which I think is a decent price. I enjoyed the tofu & pork bun the most, but they were all enjoyable. The dough itself is light and fluffy, but the dough to filling ratio is a bit off.

Stopped by for a quick to-go meal. Everything is self serve, which I'm always unsure whether we are doing at this stage of covid. The savory buns tasted simple and straightforward. I needed some spicy fish sauce to jazz things up. The sesame bun was one I was excited for, but it was a disappointment. The filling was gritty rather than smooth and velvety and I wasn't a fan. I asked about drinks and was told they only have beer, which was a let down. As I was checking out, I saw a container with a fried flatbread looking thing and asked what it was. The server said it was a beef roll. I asked if I could order one. She just handed me that one and said it was made fresh. I don't doubt her, but I was wondering why it was just sitting on the counter by itself. The items in the fridge didn't have labels which made it really difficult to pick something from there. If I knew what they were, I could've bought one and given them more business. I asked the server and she just said "different types of pickles" without explaining further.

Came across this newly opened (just for a month) steamed bun shop in Redmond (same plaza as the Malay Hut). I got 10 buns for $15.99 and there were about 12 different types of buns, sweet and savory. The salted lava egg type was very good, just like the ones you can get from dim sum. The buns are more northern style, so none of those dim sum bbq type but they have vegetarian options. They also have cold side dishes, freshly fried Chinese donuts and millets porridge.

Veggie bao. Sweet dessert bao.

Great price! The baos are delicious. The flavors are reminiscent of traditional home-cooked Taiwanese and Cantonese dishes.

Where have I been? Just discovered this place recently and was very pleasantly surprised. There was…read morea wait line but they serve fast and bring on 12th on the wait list took only 20 minutes. The space is open, bright and clean. We ordered The black fish fillet slices in pickled cabbage soup- it was very tasty. Huge portion for family style sharing. The tang from the pickled cabbage was very appetizing. It paired well with rice. The fried sliced potatoes with sliced pork and chili dry pot was also very good. Not a whole lot of pork mostly sliced potatoes with very good flavor so I didn't feel like I needed to have more pork. It tasted like the potato slices were deep fried and cooked in flavorful umami garlic and chili sauce. Another dish that's great with steamed rice. We also enjoyed the chewy bean jelly noodles in spicy sauce. It is quite refreshing as there is a nice tang to the spicy sauce. We ended the dinner with brown sugar ice jelly. It has some dried cranberries, a few pieces of tiny mochi, and almond flakes. It was delicious, and not too sweet. We look forward to be back to try the other dishes.

This has quickly become one of my favorite Chinese restaurants for spicy food. I've been here twice…read morenow and enjoyed every dish I tried. I've come for both lunch and dinner, usually shortly after they open, and never had to wait. Just looking at the crowd, you can tell this is an authentic place. As someone who travels to China frequently, this restaurant definitely meets my expectations. The Hunan-style spicy dishes really satisfy my craving for bold heat and flavor. I've tried the stone pot spicy tofu with meatballs, 梅菜扣肉 (braised pork with preserved vegetables), spicy lamb, stone pot black pepper beef, stinky tofu, and the fried oyster mushrooms. I loved all of them. These are the kind of dishes where you can easily finish a big bowl of rice--and still want more even when your belly is already full. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes. Service was prompt, and one small detail really stood out to me: during my first visit, they actually replenished the napkins mid-meal. With spicy food and the inevitable runny nose, that level of thoughtfulness is appreciated!

Noodle Nine delivers a genuinely authentic dining experience that feels like stepping into a slice…read moreof everyday Asia rather than a polished, commercialized version of it. From the moment you walk in, the cultural atmosphere stands out--many of the patrons are Asian, and on my visit, a few were even dressed in traditional garments, which added a vibrant, lived-in feel to the space. It's the kind of detail you can't manufacture, and it speaks volumes about the restaurant's credibility within the community. The interior itself is fairly average--nothing particularly modern or upscale--but it doesn't detract from the experience. If anything, it keeps the focus where it belongs: on the food. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. There were only two servers handling the floor, and they were clearly stretched thin. Ordering is done digitally, which helps streamline things, but you can still feel the strain during peak times. That said, the food started arriving quickly--our tofu noodle dish came out almost immediately, while the beef dish lagged behind a bit. Presentation leans traditional in a charming way. The plates and chopsticks have that classic, no-frills aesthetic that complements the overall vibe of the restaurant. Now, let's talk about the food. First, a word of caution: spice levels here are no joke. If you're sensitive to heat, you'll want to dial it down. But if you can handle it, the flavors are absolutely worth it--rich, bold, and deeply satisfying. The tofu was exceptionally soft, almost silky, and clearly freshly prepared. The noodles matched that texture perfectly--tender, well-cooked, and comforting. Pricing is another strong point. For the quality and portion sizes, it's very reasonable, making it an easy spot to revisit without hesitation. Overall, Nine Noodles is a great pick if you're looking for authentic flavors, a culturally immersive atmosphere, and solid value. It's not about fancy decor or polished service--it's about good, honest food. I'd definitely come back.

Happy to come across this restaurant, mostly because ever since Tian Tian Noodle lost their lease…read morein DT Redmond, I've been looking for a replacement for their dan dan noodles. No one else seems to do them the same way. Noodle Nine doesn't serve dan dan noodles BUT the dipping sauce for the scallion pancake is the same as what Tian Tian used in their noodles! I absolutely used it as a dipping sauce. The scallion pancake was great- SUPER crispy. Cucumber salad was really good but aggressively garlicky. Actually spicy from just raw garlic alone. Beef noodle soup was delicious- we added a fried egg (I would skip it next time) and extra noodles on the side.
