Pork, shrimp, and leek pan fried dumplings

Authentic northern Chinese food with kind and humble service. Such a special hole in the wall find. Can't wait to come back! We also ordered the jajamyeon and 2 orders of pork and cabbage boiled dumplings (ate them too quickly to take a photo!)

Lamb potstickers - half already eaten before I took pic lol

This review is long overdue. It's a hidden gem. When we walked in for the first time, they were making fresh dumplings. Believe me, it doesn't get any better than that! Pro-tip: Always order whatever was made fresh that day. That's what keeps us coming back - how fresh the food is. We love it and have become regulars. My favorites: Beef pockets, Napa cabbage salad, lamb pot stickers, steamed mackerel, and the eel bowl! There's magic in them, I swear. Hubby also loves the pig's ear. My kids enjoyed the beef noodle soup (sorry no pic of that), but the whole family loves Xiao long bao. We used to frequent other big name dumpling houses but have stopped. Yang's has won us over. We have been coming to Yang's almost weekly since our first dinner. We are so impressed with the freshness and consistency, and just simple goodness. Don't let the pinched parking lot scare you away. There IS another lot for the strip mall, just take the next driveway or park across the street at the defunct Tuesday morning lot. Yang's is NOT to be missed!

I had high hopes for this dumplings house but was pretty underwhelmed by the whole experience, sadly. We walked in & were greeted/seated & chose a wide variety of items from the menu. I was really excited to have dumplings but it seemed like these were left over & reheated or freeze dried & the sides were kinda tough. But, I ate them because well - I'm trying to be supportive of my local businesses.

Would give 10 stars if I could. The owner does everything by hand and as you can see in photos really puts care and love into his food. He was very kind and the food was fresh and perfect. Please visit!

Solid dumpling house on the Eastside. The owners are a wonderful couple, I have been here countless times through the years. They are still the friendliest and most hardworking owners as I have seen before. I love the steamed dumplings and XLB. This place has a great homey feel to it. Portions was great! We love it.

Homemade EVERYTHING. Like, dumplings and buns are completely made from scratch. Yum, so much yum. This locally owned and operated business deserves to be busier, but there is little parking available due to other busy stores in the shopping center. We will definitely be back. My picky daughter even approves!

I love this place! The dumplings were delicious and the service went beyond my expectations. We went on Father's Day and it was raining so it could be the reason it was empty but we enjoyed it because of the super fast service. The dumplings were sooo good! I liked it a lot better than other dumpling places. Plus, it was not as expensive as other fancy dumpling spots near the area. I would highly recommend supporting this family owned business.

Best dumpling around Kirkland / Bellevue area. Why I'm saying it's the best over DingTaiFeng or other fancy places? It's the taste of authentic home made dumplings. Reminds me of my childhood when family gather together and made dumplings. It's a couple operated restaurant, a hidden gem in this modern world.

Broccoli - get your greens in with your dumplings! $4

We gave Yang's a whirl today - just moved to Rose Hill a few days ago. Wonderful HOMEMADE noodles and dumplings. We tried: the sliced cold beef appie (good); the steamed broccoli (you need some greens with all of the noodles!); the shrimp, pork and chive dumplings, and the pork bao. All tasty. Dumplings were not "cookie cutter" perfect looking like DTF, but really delicious. We could taste their homemade goodness in each bite. Service - a tad slow, but there are only two ladies working and creating dumplings...AND they have to wait on the customers! Very clean, very simple. We will be back!

When I was running my own restaurant, I often told my team: if a place has exceptional service but…read moremediocre food, it will still get good reviews; if the food is extraordinary but the service is terrible, it will inevitably get bad reviews. However, when both service and food exceed expectations, a restaurant becomes an industry benchmark. Service: The service here was truly, exceptionally outstanding. A friend brought me here today--he had only been to this restaurant once before--yet every single staff member remembered him, and even remembered what he had ordered last time! They were genuinely thrilled to see him return. The pacing of the dishes and the check-ins during the meal were both spot-on. Ambiance: A classic Cantonese restaurant atmosphere--full of character, dignified, and rich with Chinese design elements. The seating is comfortable, the restaurant is impeccably clean, and the management is clearly top-notch. Food: Great value for money, with very reasonable pricing. The fried rice was loaded with rich ingredients and seasoned to absolute perfection. The seafood tofu was mild in flavor and made with fresh ingredients--perfect for children. The green beans were fresh and had just the right level of spice. As one of China's Eight Great Culinary Traditions, Cantonese cuisine is defined by its freshness: fresh ingredients, vibrant flavors, and fresh execution. Preparing Cantonese food is far more trouble than people realize; because of the complex preparation, strict standards for ingredients, and a low yield rate, true quality is hard to achieve. Since this restaurant is run entirely by a team of Cantonese chefs, I believe it is ultimately their passion that drives their success.

We ordered shrimp rice roll, har gow, football, shrimp with eggplant, shrimp with bell pepper, spare rib, Xiao long bao, sautéed pea tips, chicken feet, meatballs, shrimp and chive dumplings, tripe, and mango pudding. I really liked the filling in the football, which contained ground pork and mushrooms, not so much the flour for the outer layer. I also liked the tripe, pea tips, and chicken feet. They were delectable. Other than that, it seemed a bit plain. I didn't really like the chili oil they used, it was more like a sambal. I'm glad we ended with the mango pudding for dessert. The mold for it was so cute. Hopefully next time I come here they change up the chili used.

We were craving soup dumplings and wanted to venture somewhere new outside of our usual West Seattle orbit. So naturally, we chose to make the drive during peak rush hour. Completely worth it. The vibe here is ridiculously cute, and the playlist had both guests and staff singing along lyrics to songs I probably haven't heard in a decade. (Hellogoodbye & all American rejects?! Yesssss) And for the food we started with FULL HEAT: Szechuan Spicy Xiao Long Bao -- AMAZING flavor and definitely packs a punch. So hot, but so addicting. Far exceeded expectations. I want to live inside one of these lil fire balls of magic Hot & Sour Soup -- We added extra spice and it was perfect. It's also a generous portion which is shocking for $7.50. It came out first and we knew after the first bite that the rest of the meal was going to be awesome Spicy Shrimp & Pork Wontons -- not too spicy, great flavor and very meaty. At one point, our server came by to refill our sodas and asked, "How is everything, spicy?" And yes. Yes, it was. Though nothing lingered too long and the heat did not overpower the flavor of any of the dishes. All was perfectly balanced. Our server came to the rescue with her recommendation for the Mini Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings. Imagine a soup dumpling that decided to put on a crispy little jacket. SO GOOD. And a huge shoutout to Melyna, who was absolutely phenomenal. She knew the menu inside and out, was incredibly sweet, and was somehow always two steps ahead when it came to service and prebussing. She was attentive and made us feel genuinely taken care of. Honestly, this was easily the best service I've had in Seattle since moving here from Los Angeles. I know there's a location closer to where I live, but after this visit, we definitely fell in love with this spot. Thank you Melyna for making an already great meal even better!

Also parking can be bad since parking lot here is full all the time. Food is great though. I usually get sichuan xiao long bao, truffle xiao long bao. I tried wagyu xiao long bao this time which was just okay for the price you are paying. I would prob skip next time. My go to is dan dan noodles and egg fried rice and chili wonton. I tried their spring beans and they were pretty decent! I would say all the food i've tried so far is pretty good, and I would like to try different dishes.

The store is a little different now that Rooster & Rice has taken over some of the kitchen. In the ordering area, the left two kiosks are solely for Rooster & Rice, while the right three kiosks are for Xiao Chi Jie and Bento Bliss. The menu is drastically shortened, with all the Mila products and the Jianbing being removed. Honestly not a bad removal given how mediocre I thought they were. And surprisingly, pricing ($12.99) for the 5pc Sheng Jian Bao hasn't increased in the almost 2 years since my first visit. Their method of cook is traditional, bunching a large number of bao together with oil and water in an oversized and specialized pan just for this dish (with the required cover for steaming, of course). The quality remains the exact same as my first visit - good amount of fatty interior rendered aspic, strong umami and aromatic flavoring on the pork meatball filling, and a nice thin doughy skin. It's a very solid SJB, and probably the best that can be found in the Seattle metro.

The service was excellent from start to finish. A special shoutout to the host, who was incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive throughout our visit.
