Me and the hubs went last weekend while my little had spent the previous night at Grandpa's. This isn't the first time I've been to Mornings on First, but the third. Every time has been great, so I figured it was time to review. We arrived on Saturday, just before 9. There was seating available inside and out, but we chose to sit at the bar. We were quickly greeted by our server, Julie. She was friendly and helpful with recommendations, as I was on the fence about what to order. I ended up getting the mushroom toast and it was fantastic! I didn't realize it came with a salad, but was pleasantly surprised with what a compliment it was to the mushroom toast. The mushroom toast also included avocado, so I didn't regret not having the Avocado Toast. It was so good, I've been thinking about it every morning since. My hubs got the Chiliquiles. I stole a bite and they were delicious too! On other visits, I've had the Breakfast Tacos and Eggs Benedict. All were delicious and I'm looking forward to going back! read more

What a great addition to downtown, went today for the 1st time, we sat outside very nice. Staff very attentive, good menu,including alcohol options I had pancakes with eggs and sausage, pancakes were big,fluffy and flavorful, sausage was excellent,we also had the biscuits and gravy i didn't try it but looked great. Tried this new spot for a late morning brunch on Sunday. It was only 2 of us but we were told there was a 20 min wait. We went toward the farmer's market then came back. I'm glad we did because another couple had just walked up and he offered them to sit at the bar for an immediate seat. When he returned, I asked him why he didn't offer us a seat at the bar... he didn't have a response. Thankfully, a table had just opened up. Once seated, we were promptly greeted by our server. The friendly servers were the saving grace for this spot. I ordered the Farmer's Omelette with egg whites. It was brought to the table originally with regular eggs. They took it back and quickly brought the correct omelette out. It was simply okay. Low quality ingredients and the potatoes looked like the kind you get from the frozen section of the grocery store. My boyfriend's breakfast burrito was smaller than he anticipated and it tasted okay. Nothing to get excited about. The plate presentations could use some love. A sprig of something green and a couple orange slices could go a long way in making things look more appealing. Came by at 8am and asked to sit outside as it was still cool out. We got a hot latte and an iced latte w/ cold foam added as I was curious what it was. Tasted like foamier whipped cream, would get it again. Ordered the farmhouse omelette and belgian waffle breakfast. Portions were very generous and they definitely did not skimp on adding ingredients to the omelette. Everything was tasty but the potatoes were my favorite by far. They're lightly fried and tossed with bell peppers and onions and just seasoned deliciously. Only negative is that there were flies buzzing around everywhere which is a risk of sitting outside. It seemed like they even had a fix for that as they were adding little side fans to the tables to deter them from landing. Would come back if I was craving a big breakfast. read more

My fam and I had the opportunity to have brunch here 2x recently, usually they are fully booked even with the back patio open where wait time can be anywhere from 30-45mins during peak hours say 11:30am-12:30pm on weekends; it was special today since we took the day off to make up celebrating my daughter's bday which was yesterday so there were plenty of seats! The 1st and 2nd time there we ordered the same items lol except for the biscuits and gravy since the portions are very generous! We ordered the following with all homemade potatoes: 1x Eggs Benedict (the hollandaise sauce is just right; not too sour and/or bitter tasting that comes with Canadian bacon) 2x Western Omelette (very nice and hearty with chopped slices of smoked honey ham, green bell peppers and onions made just right without all the oil and grease underlying) 1x All American Breakfast with Ham Steak (comes with 2 eggs, 2 enormous buttermilk pancakes and 1 incredible smoked honey ham steak made extra large that needs to be placed on a separate plate LOL) 2x Lattes (you can add flavors to it like Hazelnut, Caramel and/or Vanilla) 1x London Fog Latte (this is now my GO TO for when I'm feeling like having a fusion of tea and latte; best of both worlds) 1x Steam Milk (kids temp as much as possible so that it's not too hot and if it is, they are really nice about if you request for a little bit of cold milk to even it out) I want to give a very special shoutout to our 1st waiter Antonio AKA Ant, he is super cool and filled with positive energy vibes! Ant made sure we were taken cared of even though it was a full house, he works very hard and moves fast to keep his customers happy especially for my daughter today where he treated her a grand Belgium waffle dessert topped with slices of strawberry/banana and whipped cream in mid then coated with a light chocolate drizzle. All wonderful experiences and lasting impressions with fair prices and even super swag Hot Wheels for kids (gotten an Aston Martin and Batmobile). Once you have eaten here, you probably would not want to go anywhere else. We've been to other brunch places (I mean you name it, there's a handful of established ones NOT WORTH all the rave) and we have stopped going to them since nothing stood out and one of them has gotten so bad that they lowered the quality of their food AND how dare they come out of the kitchen with burnt food masked in the omelette, it is a disgrace. So yeah, if you have the time and are not in a rush then you most definitely need to have brunch here; I'll try their burgers/sandwiches one day lol. Parking can be a hassle since there's very limited one slots sectioned by funky stationary trees, there's more public parking around the premises where you may need to walk a few blocks and one open spaced lot during construction around the gas station where it can be easily missed lol. This was my third time here, I really liked this place and hate that today's experience ruined any chance of me ever coming back! We first came yesterday on a Saturday and for some reason they were closed. We decided to try again Sunday and per usual there's a wait, which is normal with most places on weekend. We got on the wait and were told a 25 min wait. We waited and got an update our table was ready, but the young girl in the front said due to delays in the kitchen we have to wait another ten min. The table with no umbrella outside had been ready but apparently they can't seat us because we would have to wait to order so she said ten minutes. We waited and she asks if it's okay to be seated at the table with no umbrella, we sat for five minutes given we waited so long and placed our order quickly to avoid any further wait. The waitress now tells us due to kitchen being backed up the food will take about 30 min. The sun is beaming hot and I'm pregnant and five minutes in I'm already feeling overheated and get a migraine, same with my husband. I go and tell the girl in the front to find us another table and she says once someone is seated they can't move them and if we want another table we have to wait in the queue AGAIN, apparently that's their policy. So I ask to speak to the manager, she brings me over this girl named Denise and I explained to her situation. Denise seems understanding and gets us seated inside right away. Now comes the wait! Half hour turns into 45 min, inside we had to find our waitress so we can get cold ice water from the heat outside, we are still waiting when a couple with kids he were waiting same time as us gets seated. They order right away and whilst waiting Denise comes and tells us our first next, when in fact it wasn't. The family next to us got their food, which they had kids and I was glad they tended to then but the adults food came as well. My hubby just ordered a veggie omelet and I had ordered the simple, 2 eggs scrambled, with toast and potatoes. It's been an hour and every one had their food except for us. One hour to the exact time our waitress gets us our food. My hubbys omelet was missing the cheese and my food was cold. After the waitress comes to ask how everything is I tell her he's missing the cheese and to ensure we are not charged for it. After we get the bill, the charge is on there and we tell her so she goes to get it fixed. She comes back and the bills still not fixed and she goes back again, and this time I can see Denise the manager fixing it. We get the correct bill and pay and we get no apology or anything, the couple next to us got an apology and discount and a smile. Worst experience ever!!! If they are telling people the kitchen is backed up and longer wait for food then why the hell are they taking in more and more customers and putting them on the wait list and making them wait to get seated and told to wait again for their food for an hour! Absolutely horrible customer service! Only highlight was the Hispanic worker cleaning tables and who joked and put a smile on peoples faces! read more

The breakfast scramble was awful!!!! The eggs were dried up (like they were sitting out a long time.) The vegetables in it were hard. The fruit was tasteless, maybe old. Definitely, not fresh! The whole wheat toast was also very dry/stale. Had to use the toilet right away after attempting to eat. My boyfriend's waffle was burnt and tasteless. They smothered it whip cream to hide it. I saw someone else say that they wonder if their friends are writing these five-star reviews, and I'm going to have to second that... My friends and I came here for brunch recently, and while we went in with high hopes because of the cute ambiance, we left very disappointed. The food was on the blander side and there were a lot of errors in terms of receiving the correct food (maybe growing pains from still being a new-ish place?). Our server Anthony was extremely nice, but the woman who brought out the food seemed annoyed with US that we were getting the wrong food. And then on top of that, being charged incorrectly at the end of it all. We are not ones to complain usually but I'm sorry...this was too much. read more

Had a lovely brunch with a friend at Mornings on First! After swinging by the farmers market, we wanted to grab a good brunch while in the area. I've been wanting to go to Mornings on First since I saw their sign posted earlier in the summer so we headed over. Luckily, they were able to seat us with no wait time on a late Sunday morning. The restaurant has lots of seating with the outdoor front patio, indoor space with a bar area, and outdoor covered back patio. Very cute vibes and aesthetic all throughout. Service was great and we were never waiting too long for anything. We ordered and shared: + iced coffee flight ($15): this came with a tiramisu latte, cookies & cream cold brew, and s'mores latte. Each of the flight drinks were smaller than I expected and for $15, I was hoping for more but I suppose you're also paying for the opportunity to have a variety. The lattes were good but more sweet and milky (as lattes are) and I didn't get much of a coffee flavor. I did enjoy the cookies and cream cold brew! + chilaquiles ($16): yum! savory in all the best ways. It was a large enough portion to share between the two of us and we were satisfied. They have the option to add grilled chicken breast for $6 and I think if you wanted to pile on the protein, this would be a good option. The chorizo was good, but a little more wouldn't hurt! + waffle royale ($18): might've been one of the best waffles I've had lately. They nailed the liege waffle and I love the crunchy sugar inside. Adding the strawberries and bananas made me feel the tiniest bit less guilty about having this very dessert-forward meal for breakfast. While it does feel like it's on the pricier side for breakfast, the portion sizes were all pretty big, so you could definitely go family style with the plates. Get a little taste of everything. First time trying Mornings on First; and it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in the service was great; staff who greeted us were all friendly and our waiter was all smiles. We were not sure what dishes to order as everything sounded amazing, our waiter was able to narrow down some choices for us based on popular items and shared some of his favorites as well. We settled on the breakfast burrito and the Farmers Omelette. Both were great! Some highlights from the burrito were that the portions were very generous! They did not skimp on the best parts of it, the meats, and eggs. It was a lot for one person to finish. The Farmers Omelette was delicious, I would definitely get this item again. All of the ingredients tasted super fresh and the potatoes that came along with it were perfectly cooked, nice and crunchy! The only downside (and this may just be personal opinion) was the coffee: the coffee was quite weak; however, I am someone who prefers my coffee made like jet fuel. Other than that, ambiance was great, staff were super attentive and friendly, and food was amazing. We will definitely be coming back! read more

We had heard great things about this spot so decided to stop in on a Friday morning. Space is lovely and bright (a big step up from the decor of the previous restaurant here) and not at all crowded. Service was friendly and attentive. The breakfast burrito was delicious and absolutely huge (enough for the leftovers to be lunch and then some) and the Liege Waffle was excellent. Nice and easy brunch spot. Has all the classic American breakfast and brunch items you'd expect, sometimes with a Hawaiian flavor twist (think coconut, macadamia nut, pineapple). Staff is friendly and attentive. Restaurant is a bit small inside, it's the site of the original Alehouse, but there's also ample space outside. There's street parking and a lot behind the restaurant, but it is downtown so be mindful it gets busy at prime dining times. read more

Perfect meal for me and my friends. First, the place is super cute (and check out the courtyard! An umbrella covered court AND wings on the wall you can take pictures with!) Second, the food is amazing- delicious and there are large portions. Finally, they are ALLERGY FRIENDLY! I have a weird allergy- and it's to something that's in tons of foods, and the manager helped me find safe food! That's huge. DO write down your allergy so the server can take a written copy back to the kitchen- don't expect the server to 1. hear you correctly and 2. remember everything. My husband and I came to visit family from Arizona and we stumbled upon this super cute brunch hotspot. We had a great experience from start to finish. We had less than a 10 minute wait time. We did have our 7wk old daughter and they were more than willing to accommodate us by brining us extra heaters and seating us in a quieter area on the back patio. A gentleman (who I assume is the owner) even came out and checked in on us multiple times. Our food came so quickly. We all enjoyed our food and drinks. The presentation was beautiful too. Overall pretty disappointed with the experience and probably won't be coming back. Decided to try on a Sunday around 11, seating was easy, we came in as a party of four and they sat us inside. We ordered drinks and i asked the server for some waters. After 15 minutes we get our drinks and put in our food orders. Our party decided to get two plates to split, avocado toast and the breakfast tacos. We wanted a quick bite to share so we got items that didn't seem like they would take long, apparently we were wrong. Food doesn't come out for 30-45 minutes, no word from the waitress, and i see tables that sat after us receiving their food. Also, asked waitress for water a second time, never get any water the whole time. At this point we don't want to wait an hour for avocado toast so when the waitress shows up we ask to cancel the food order. She tells us our food "is literally being plated and about to come out" so we say okay we'll still have it. Literally wait another 10 minutes so at this point we get it to go and leave. It feels like they gave an excuse of being slammed but it seems like other tables were getting their food and it really was not packed. Overall disappointed with the service and our waitress really did not check in at all They did offer us a $20 waiver for next time we come so that was nice on their end, adding a star for that. read more

I am very excited to have another breakfast spot in Livermore downtown. My family went in on a Wednesday afternoon around 1PM and we opted to sit inside since we have an infant. It wasn't super busy so they let us pick the table. I had already checked out the menu and yelp prior to eating here so I had an idea of what I wanted. I ordered a caramel macchiato and the Belgium breakfast. The service was pretty quick and all the servers were helpful. No wait on a Sat @ 9am!Surprised no one has posted about the Iced Coffee Flight but it was one of the menu items that caught my eye (besides the Liege waffle) & it was good! (Hoping they offer a seasonal version for the holidays!) We also had the Liege Waffle (just as good as TJ's lol), the Ohana Pancakes & guava juice. Did not taste any pineapple in the pancakes so a bit disappointing & glad I asked for the Mac Nut Cream sauce on the side (not a fan...tasted like chopped mac nuts in a butter sauce with some milk/cream added & not sweet). We tried this place for a late brunch yesterday, it was overpriced and not worth it. Yes, it was a super hot day but we sat inside and there was so many flies INSIDE it was disgusting, they were buzzing all around us. Everything is an up charge here, it was $1 for one pump of syrup in my coffee, a small fruit cup on the side, instead of potatoes, was another up charge ( not sure how much but not worth it because it was frozen fruit that was still frozen even in 106 degree heat) I had to get up and ask the server for creamer for my coffee at the bar. We never got water refills. Food: I got the Eggs Benedict, the server asked me how I wanted my eggs cooked.. I've never heard of this question when you order eggs Benedict, aren't they always over easy? The hollandaise was just alright, it seemed premade like from a package. My husband got the chilaquiles which were like hard nachos with eggs on top. The service was okay, there were 2 people working and the guy was friendly, the girl was eh. While we were there there was a group of guys sitting at the bar, one seemed to work there and the servers seemed to be busy with them instead of everyone else. It was a weird vibe.
