Great food and staff. Today was my first time eating here but I will definitely be back!

This place is alright. Definitely not somewhere I'll be dying to go again, but by no means bad. Pizza is pizza to me usually, and this pizza didn't blow me away. When it came out to me, I was a little taken back. It looked like the crust was burnt but the toppings were undercooked. There wasn't much cheese and it looked like it was thrown haphazardly as an after thought. Pepperoni wasn't crunchy, and I prefer it crunchy. Crust was crunchy, and I prefer it more soft. It wasn't bad pizza, but it wasn't amazing pizza. Inside felt a low key sports bar mixed with a gas station. Can't explain that combo but you'd have to see it to understand. Service was really quick but the lady taking our order seemed annoyed that we were taking our time choosing. Overall not a bad place. Would be interested in trying some of the other menu items people speak of, so I might come back. read more

Ok so my boss took me to lunch here this week, and I really enjoyed it! So we get there, and although it's a small pizzeria, it makes really good pizza so who cares. They have pizza's by the slice or as a pie, and also have other options if you aren't in the mood for pizza (such as calzones, italian sandwiches, etc). It seemed to be a little mom and pop pizzeria. The staff was friendly, and it was obvious that some of the people were regulars. I can imagine the place is packed during football season. I definitely think it's a good place to take your family for some pizza or to stop by with your buddies and grab a pizza and some beer to watch a game or just unwind from your day. It sure is a good alternative to your "chain" pizza shops such as Pizza Hut, Domino's, etc...... read more

It was a dark and rainy night when I came across Mo's pizza place... I wasn't sure what it was gonna be like but when I entered inside, I instantly knew I made the right choice. With several beer and drink options, several televisions excellently placed, and an expansive menu, it became all too clear that Mo's is the the place to be! I ordered a large Mo's Deluxe Pizza and because I wanted to be "healthy" I ordered the fried chicken salad. Now for food descriptions! The Pizza- Outstanding crust, the sauce is very flavorful but does not overkill the taste of the rest of the ingredients, the cheese is also nice and evenly spread which brought about a nice balance to the rest of the pizza. I highly recommend getting their anchovies, and make sure to add the sausage, mushrooms, and green peppers as well! The salad- the salad is made in a Greek style. The dressing is an oil base and is a very light flavor addition to the overall picture. The chicken is boneless and amazing!!! You've definitely gotta try it. Nuts and bolts: On two occasions, met co-workers for lunch since it is conveniently located to work. Order: First time, a salad that was on special with added chicken. Second time, pepperoni pizza. Pros: They let me order my drink and sit for my party without paying. Tons of lunch specials. Lots of good choices; it is hard to decide what to get. My salad was just superb. My coworker has also said that the sandwiches are quite good. Cons: The pizza wasn't that great. Take home message: They should rename it Mo's Salad. Regardless, I expect to come back when I am in the mood for a nice salad. And I would like to try their sandwiches. read more

Missing ingredients, missing flavor on what ultimately arrived. The food was cool to cold, the driver struggled with every concept of delivered food, and I was missing my pasta dish. Interestingly, they were able to charge me for the full order, just forgot to deliver that full order. The Calzone was just a pizza bent over on to itself; apparently, the chef has never made a real one. The key is enclosing all ingredients in the dough, this creates the true effect and taste of a great calzone. Just flopping over a half pizza is, well, like eating a half-pizza that was flopped over on itself. I gave it two stars because I don't read one star and five star ratings; always figured those were rants or raves and found more luck with the tow to four ratings. I haven't been able to find decent wings on my side of town yet so I am thrilled to have finally tried the wings at Mo's Pizza. You can tell they aren't frozen, they're big, reasonably priced, sauce is perfect and the ranch is even better. I also love the atmosphere. It's a great neighborhood joint. This is one of my very favorite pizza joints! The pizza is delicious--I love their red sauce. Great salads and sandwiches, too. My husband and I love their deck. It's just a super friendly neighborhood hangout that's perfect for a beer & wings after work or dinner with the fam & friends. A neighborhood gem. read more

I couldn't quite figure out Mo's pizza. It wasn't really that great, it wasn't repulsive either...it reminded me of something and couldn't figure it out. Finally, it occurred to me one slice through that it is just like a 'bar pie'. The type of pizza you'd get at 3am at a dive bar when you are almost beered out and eyes getting heavy. You know the homemade concoction that seems to taste so good at the end of the night but wouldn't be quite right in daylight hours. The crust is very thin but not charred enough on the bottom. Sauce is slightly on the sweet side and too much cheese for my liking. But it is different and would be perfectly acceptable at any bar with a jukebox and Foosball. For this, it gets 3 stars only for good ole times sake. Otherwise it would be 2 stars. I give it my 'average cheese in Atlanta' rating...barely...from the NY Pizza Guy. read more

I want to give an older, local establishment like Mo's a better rating. I just can't. Like many of my reviews, this is based on multiple visits. In this case I've been to the Mo's location three times in the last 18 months. I've ordered delivery another two times. Delivery: Bad. Slow. It took exactly 50 minutes both times. I am literally 4 minutes up the road. Both deliveries had mistakes. The first delivery, they sent the wrong pizza slice. The second delivery a few months later, they left off the dessert even though the receipt they handed me showed a dessert. Both times they eventually came by with the right food, but there was no offer of refund or credit. Nor was there an apology from anyone. Keep in mind: this is two separate orders in two separate months, both messed up. I won't be ordering delivery again from Mo's. In-house service: Worse. There isn't really much 'service' once you sit down. I don't expect much hand-holding from a pizza joint. However. I do expect them to get my order right, and promptly. Two of the three times I visited in-store something went wrong just trying to order. Once, the brunette woman working the counter had to go to the kitchen three times to ask questions about how to enter the order. It took 5 minutes just to place the order, after standing in line for 10 minutes. The other time, they somehow 'wiped out' my order. The staff didn't catch it. I want back to the counter after 20 minutes of getting no food. THEN they realized their mistake. Food: Meh. In a word I'd say, "inconsistent." The pizza is decent and the slices are a generous size... but sometimes the crust is burned. The wings I had were dry and 'hard on the outside' on two separate occasions. The onion rings were too greasy one time, and disintegrated the next. I give a '2' rating because I love local owned businesses and cut them some slack. But frankly, if the place cost a little bit more and I was getting this service and food, I'd have to rate it a '1.' I won't bother with Mo's for awhile. Hopefully it'll improve in that time. read more

My intent was to order a glorious Rueben Sandwich with Sweet potato fries so I could take a photo to show you the deliciousness.....but Mo's Pizza had other plans. After waiting over an hour for the delivery, I called only to be told the driver couldn't find my house and to call the manager in the morning. The gentleman was extremely rude and hung up the phone. I called back only to be placed on hold for at least 5-7 minutes before speaking to a semi-helpful person. My food was delivered 2.5 hours after I placed the order. It was cold and ultimately gross. This is the 2nd big problem I've had with this place. The first was someone writing down my debit card information (DANGEROUS LIABILITY) and not entering it into the computer. This resulted in such confusion that I stopped ordering for a while. I think it's a shame that this place has such excellent Reuben Sandwiches, because their staff is lazy and rude. read more

Not good. I was in the area, hungry & spotted this on Scoutmob. The Scoutmob was for a free slice of pizza, so I thought, "why not?" Ordered a side salad to go with pizza. It came out with stale croutons and unwashed lettuce. I didn't realize it right away, but found some gross grey/black smudge on the lettuce. The pizza was only okay & they charged so much extra for toppings, there was nothing free about this deal. Also, while I was placing my order, their phone was ringing and one waitress says to the other, "just let it ring..." Poor customer service. Wouldn't go back. read more

Okay, I admit I am biased about this place. In a good way. First of all, this place has been around a LONG time. I used to go here in my high school days and also during my college years when visiting home from school in Athens, mostly to drink beer. The pizza and sandwiches have always been good but existed merely as an afterthought to the drinking, socializing, smoking (on the deck, out in the parking lot) and occasional scuffles / fisticuffs with a rival high school / college nemesis (also out in the parking lot). They still serve up huge cheap pitchers of beer and they still serve some solid pub grub. Tuesdays feature all-u-can-eat spaghetti night and Mondays features large pies for less than the price of a medium. I highly recommend this place. I give it four stars, if for no other reason, for the sake of consistency, longevity and nostalgia. read more

An Atlanta staple. After becoming a regular over the last 2 years and conversing with the owner, I've learned that Mo's has been around for nearly 30 years. I visit Mo's once or twice a week for a slice of pizza and the homemade chips. If I have the chance to go with others, I will always get a whole pizza over a slice. The pizza here is a little strange. Not necessarily bad, but the proportions were off enough that I didn't really like it. The cheese was sparsely laid on top in a configuration that reminded me of the spider web decorations you see on suburban Azaleas around Halloween. The sauce was sweeter than I am used to, but the crust was nice, and that counts. The sandwich my companion ate was pretty solid and the fries were nicely made. I'll probably try it again as I'm usually happiest in these sort of neighborhood spots, but I think I'll avoid the pizza. read more

I was driving with a friend having the usual "What do you feel like eating?" conversation. As it was officially past noon I suggested a place to get a pitcher of beer. He then proceeded to take us to a "neighborhood" place that he knew of, Mo's. Mo's is the quintessential neighborhood pizzeria! It serves up a thin crust pizza, $2 a slice. Lots of cheese, as others have mentioned, but which I appreciate. Service was good, our server, Lindsey, was very friendly. The crowd there seemed like they were no strangers to Mo's, many were called by name. I am sure if I lived in the area I would go there more often, and probably give it an extra star. read more

My first apartment was in the Briarcliff Cabana apartments near the corner of Briarcliff and Clairmont. The apartment complex was tiny and about as shady as it sounds (and located behind the Golden Touch "massage" parlor, which I am told gives happy endings). The reason I chose to live in such a place? I was giving all my money to Emory for a college education. My roommates and I ate at Mo's Pizza at least once a week. We frequently went to "All You Can Eat Spaghetti Night" on Mondays. Don't ask me why we didn't just make our own spaghetti, but those were good times. The staff was always friendly, and the food was always fresh and not bad. The pizza is not the best you will ever have, but it's not bad either. Thinking about Mo's brings back a lot of happy memories. I am only giving it a "3" because I think my love for it is based more on nostalgia than on actually food quality, but I wouldn't steer you away from trying the pizza if you happen to be in the area. read more

You cannot beat their pizza slice lunch special: MASSIVE salad, huge slice of pizza (with toppings!), and a drink for around $6. The pizza is never greasy and yummy, their salad (and so many dressings!). Oh no - my stomach just sarted growling thinking about it... Food is simple, fresh, and heavenly. I love coming here for a grilled chicken salad! But when the pizza is soooooooo good, its hard to get anything else. My boyfriend is an avid rock-climber. Sometimes after he rock climbs, he and his friends will go to various places that are open late at night and Mo's was a suggestion & this was how this fabulous place made its way into my life/on my radar. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to go so we decided to do take out there. They have AMAZING pizzas; we got their BBQ pizza. Its bbq sauce drizzled in BBQ sauce with chicken, onion, bacon, and some other yummy-ness I can't remember but trust me makes a perfect symphony in your mouth. The place itself is small (hidden off of Clairmont Rd) and it gets very very busy during dinner peak hours so if you are in the mood make sure you go early or late. Trust me if you like Mellow or Felinni's this place is just as good if not better (Yes! I know, BETTER!). Try it out! read more

Good pizza....if they get your order right! Terrible sandwiches if mine was an example of the rest. Last weekend ordered an Italian sausage, peppers and onions sandwich.....but that's not what I got. Got a calzone style oven baked item filled with shredded meat, topped with tomato paste sauce, topped with tons of melted cheese. It was a tasteless mush of a mixture, hard to eat, no peppers, one small piece of onion, threw out one half . What a mistake.! Don't take a chance....go somewhere else. read more

I was in the area running errands, saw this spot, never heard of it before, so gave it a shot and grabbed a quick to-go order. I mean QUICK!!!!!! The cashier was extremely friendly and efficient in taking my special requests. The food was ready much faster than I had anticipated, but it was clearly made fresh. I had the veggie delight sandwich; fresh mushrooms (so hard to find in a pizza joint!) and great quality bread. I chose the pasta salad for my side dish and will order a larger portion when I return; it was FANTASTIC! Initially I thought the price was a bit steep, but after I got home and realized I had 2 meals on my hands, the prices are more than fair. Again: only fresh ingredients were used. Absolutely delicious! Quality food, large portions, friendly staff, quick service, and although I was getting my order to-go, the bar and patio looked very relaxed and chill. As a pizza place, this joint is just okay. The food is okay, the staff is okay, the seating is okay. There's nothing that makes it pop, nothing that makes it extraordinary. It's just a pizza place. I've been here a handful of times and each visit is eerily similar to the previous. I get a sandwich or a slice, sit down, crack open a book, read and eat, eat and read, and after an hour or so I kick it outta there because the drunk suits are driving me crazy with their loud-talking and the tv is blaring a Nascar race. Or something as equally annoying. Perhaps I should visit sometime other than mid-day during the work week -- but I have nothing better to do than judge places based on being mostly empty at 3pm on a Tuesday afternoon. But on the bright side -- at least they were only "mostly" empty, instead of "totally" empty. So... hey! Good for them. If I'm looking for a convenient pizza place to hang out with my friends and drink a ton of beer -- then this would be my pick. It's A-OK, not super special or anything. But then again, I'm not a huge fan of pizza or beer (which I know is sac-relig in this country), so it might be me who is missing the big point of this place. Perhaps I'm wrong. Mo's has been here for decades because they have good consistently prepared food. I have had many pizzas and sandwiches here. The staff is friendly without attitude, and they have a regular crowd. Check your Scoutmob app - there may be a deal for Mo's. Also check their daily specials on the board as you walk in. Today I just had one slice of pizza with sausage and a drink but the slice is so big that is all you need for lunch. read more

Let me preface this by saying pizza is one of my favorite foods. In my hometown, there are delicious pizza parlors in abundance. Atlanta, not so much. Mo's is pretty good, and they deliver to my complex, so I give extra points for that. The one downside is that they don't do regular (coke, pepsi) soda for carry out or delivery. Delivery-even on a busy night, my order has come in less than 45 minutes. Price- of course it's more than a chain pizza place, but the quality is 10 times better. Service- quick and friendly What to get- salads, wings, specialty pizzas Tips- there are a couple of coupons online and to get around the no real pop issue, when I do carry out, I pop into the liquor store next door to grab a 2liter. Can't believe I've never reviewed Mo's. How insaaaane. Chances are if you're going to Mo's you're going to run into your classmates (LHS/Emory) or neighbors. This is THE neighborhood pizza place, unless you know, you live on the other side of 85 like a savage beast, then you go to Shorty's. Just kidding, I'm from the other side of 85, it's all good. Mo's is not as fancy as Shorty's and I hesitate to even say fancy because Shorty's isn't fancy but Mo's is a lot more humble. This place has a very distinct taste in my opinion. It put me off the first time I tried it back in the day. I'd warn you that they can also have off nights. With that said, their pizza on an off night is still a billion times better than Pizza Hut or what have you. I'd go with the veggie pizza because when you add pepperoni it becomes a grease monster and the cheese gets stiff. Trivia on Wednesdays if that's your scene. Be prepared for lots of noise! read more

I came here at random on a Friday night. You could tell this is a neighborhood joint. There was a dad and a son watching a basketball game, as well as a couple of older guys having beer and flirting with the waitress. The people at the registers were very friendly. We had the Mo's deluxe pizza (a big "medium" for $16.50) which was good. The crust was soft with a little chewiness. The toppings were fresh but a little on the skimpy side. They didn't have drink specials, and a Yuengling was $4, which is unexpected for the hole-in-the-wall ambience. If I lived around here I might become a semi-regular. But since I'm not, I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

Mo's is cool. A good place to watch a game or get a quick meal. I find their pizza to be pretty good, comes out quick, too. I cannot vouch for everything else, though, the chicken tenders were alright, same with the fries. It is a good place to go to relax and get a quick, neighborhood meal. I would come here a million times rather than an Applebee's or Chili's. It is solid, not great but definitely not bad, hence the 3 stars. Also, their honey mustard is to die for. I know I do a lot of 5 stars, but it's really because I like these places that much. Got the Caesar salad and to my surprise, they had a grilled chicken option for it. Got that along with garlic breadsticks. Nice outdoor patio to chill at, and courteous staff to boot. As for slow on refills, if you're outside, they might be slower than normal, but barely. I don't have a problem walking 50 feet to get a refill. I'm not royalty. read more

This place has been around for a long time, since my husband and I were college students in the area (and that is a LONG time!). We spoke to the owner and he has owned the place since then. We prefer local owned pizza to the large chains, so we stopped here while in the area. We had an onion ring basket and they were awesome! We also shared a large sausage pizza with 3 people and had plenty of leftovers. The cheese on the pizza was great and the sausage was tasty. They only thing we didn't quite enjoy was the garlic sticks, they could have used more flavor. Enjoyed the beer on tap. Prices were pretty good for what we got. read more
