Nice place right on the river. Great service. Food was just okay. Clam chowder was mostly potatoes. Fish was undercooked in the fish and chips.

Visiting Oregon and was told to visit Mo's...I did and it was a good experience. I do not give 5 stars on my first visit, keep this in mind when you see I gave 4 stars. Seated right away for a late weekday lunch. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house but I loved my seat right along the water. Server was engaged and responsive. Eating by myself I was a pretty easy table but he did not forget about me. Famous for the clam chowder, I have never had chowder before but I left wanting more clam chowder, at least that clam chowder. My entree was butterflied breaded shrimp. I could have ate double the amount provided they were so good and the cocktail sauce was dynamite. If I ever return to Florence I would surely go back to Mo's!!

I still dream about this place. Came in 2024 and never had anything better. The clam chowder bowl is to die for. Dining inside and looking out to the water was so peaceful. I love the little gift shop too.

I was driving through town around lunchtime and spotted this restaurant--it caught my eye with its interesting setup and water view. Getting a table was quick and easy, and the host was friendly and welcoming. Our server was kind and attentive as well, which made the experience pleasant. The food itself was okay--not particularly memorable, but decent enough. What stood out more was the overall atmosphere and the relaxed vibe. They also have a small souvenir and gift shop that my kids were thrilled to explore (and spend money in!)

1st time dinning here. The fish and chips and the clam chowder was very good. The service was great!

I wanted so badly to give this place a 5/5, but the clam chowder was just underwhelming. I don't mind a thicker and creamy base for my chowder, but I struggled to find the clam in it, or even a clam flavor. It was very hot and buttery, so it wasn't a complete miss. The rest of the meal was excellent and I was impressed with how crispy the fries were. The view from the table was excellent. It's not a high dining place, but you will feel comfortable. My only complaint about the service itself was that I couldn't find my server to get my check, the lady at the counter was able to check me out no problem.

Presentation was nice.

I remember Mo's clam chowder when I was a kid in the 1970s. I was rather disappointed with what it has become. It's more of a potato and bacon soup with some clams in it. Service was good and place was clean, but my childhood memories remain unrefreshed with what I used to think was the most awesome chowder ever. Guess the commercialization of the brand diluted the flavor.

While staying on the Oregon coast we happened to be lucky enough to try the clam chowder here at Mo's. I have to say it probably the best clam chowder I've ever had. It had just the perfect amount of bacon, potatoes and clam's that had me coming back for more. Three days in a row to be exact, lol don't judge me. The service was good and the place had great views of the river. Side note this location doesn't have a patio so if you have a pet you will have to order to go. But there are table near the docks to enjoy this clam chowder masterpiece near by.

Inside out: I mean the location can't get much better, inside and outside we're clean and we walked so I can't really say much to the parking situation, but it seemed to have ample parking. Service: our server was super sweet and friendly as heck! The place was very busy and he seemed incredibly calm and kind. Food: My parents had the clam chowder and they weren't divinely impressed but said it was good. Just not wildly a cut above the rest. I had a fish sandwich- it was average. I wasn't blown away by the quality of anything but I wasn't dissatisfied either.

Dining in Old Town [Florence OR] They said a trip to Florence is not complete without a meal at Mo's so before heading back to Coos Bay we had dinner here. We were seated by the window which was nice but, unfortunately, the sun had already set and was dark outside so we weren't able to watch fishing boats pass or see sea lions play in the water. We wanted to try "Mo's world famous clam chowder" so we ordered a cup each to try. It was a bit on the salty side (maybe just my taste buds). Definitely wouldn't claim it to be "world famous." I also ordered a plate of cod fish & chips (kids meal size). I wasn't that hungry. I wouldn't be able to finish 4 pieces of fish. Two was good. Hubby ordered the shrimp skewer. The shrimps were grilled in garlic butter (it was very good... my hubby shared). For dessert we shared a Marionberry Cobbler w/ vanilla ice cream. This was new to my tastebuds. Warm and fruity on the inside with a yummy buttery crunch crust. We asked to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream (optional) and it was heavenly... our server mentioned that the marionberry was invented at Oregon State University In 1948. Wow cool! It's an Oregon thing! 3.5-Stars Review #3245

Mo's Original fish and chips

MO's as a whole hasn't changed in years. Service was good, attentive. Ordered salad and fish and chips. Salad was good with baby shrimp. Fries were ok. The highlight should be the fish. It wasn't, it was overdone and rubbery. For the cost it should be on point. I would skip and try one of Florence many other restaurants.

Both were outstanding and way better than I expected. To be honest, the pasta dish was one of the best I have ever had and this is one dish that I am critical of because I have had really good Jambalaya pasta and some bad ones. This one was way way up there. The sausage was excellent and the chicken and shrimp were perfect, but the sauce made the dish. I can not wait to have it again. The whole staff was friendly and our waitress was excellent and very helpful. My only regret was not asking for a window seat when we got there. We had a reservation and there was a table by the window that was open, but we got seated by the entrance. A couple that walked in after us with no reservation got the table by the window which was odd. Again, not a deal breaker and I should have asked to sit there. I definitely would not hesitate to eat here again or recommend it to everyone. I am looking forward to the next visit.

The caprese was great alongside-- I was already full and still housed the house made focaccia and pesto, truly so incredible. for our main we split the cajun salmon with pico de gallo, mashed potatoes, and side caesar salad. delicious!!! I don't even really like caesar salad that much, and theirs is top notch. they split our plate for an extra $3 and it was plenty after appetizers. lastly, interiors: our table was perfect. they sat us right by the window on the water for sunset. I was only in florence for the night and can tell this is the best spot in town!

From the…read moremoment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed, with that perfect coastal Hawaiian fusion vibe that just fits so well. The food was outstanding across the board. The kids' fish and chips were a pleasant surprise--made with real rockfish, which you don't always see on a kids' menu, and it was done perfectly. Emma loved her sushi roll, and LaRue's shrimp sliders were packed with flavor and cooked just right. I went with the panko fried prawns along with the Hawaiian pulled pork, and both were absolutely excellent--crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. Even the appetizer set the tone for the meal--it was clear right away that they care about quality. What really stood out, though, was the combination of great food and great service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable without being overbearing. Overall, this was one of those meals where everything just clicked--food, service, and atmosphere. We'll definitely be back, and it's an easy recommendation for anyone looking for something a little different with really solid execution.

The attitudes are positive. This restaurant feels like a good time. The prices have gone up. I blame the economic conditions rather than the owners themselves. The food sometimes I feel like the sauce is too much or the food is too sweet or too salty. I don't feel that the food is super consistent every time I go. I love supporting local business owners. I love the story of the restaurant how it started as a food truck. I just wish the food was more consistent when you order.

I followed another couple in and overheard another table expressing the regret that they had not spent more time so they could eat here again... not too bad for overheard customers reviews. The table behind me ordered a crab and crusted halibut with a side of linguine that you can order it with Alfredo, marinara, or sausage sauce. Next time. I was here for the breakfast special which includes fluffy pancakes, bacon and eggs and fresh fruit...but on another day I would need to try the brisket Benedict. Chef Mari, the Bulgarian name sake of the kitchen, smokes the brisket in house. Breakfast is served all day; they are only closed Wednesdays and Thursdays. I decided to order a virgin Loaded Bloody Mary (they also have a Bloody Maria which is tequila). Sarah the server was the bartender and knew what she was doing. Bloody Virgin Mary came with steaming hot shrimp and just made bacon. Holy mother of God. Spiced with solid, well-deserved tangy kick...to off set the heat. Absolutely beautiful. The pancakes were incredible and lavishly covered with a rich blueberry compote that was thankfully not too sweet. The bacon was thick but not too thick and just salty in just the best way. Very excited about coming back for the other dishes that I saw being served. That's a good sign. Then Mari came out from the kitchen to say hello to some of us. Wonderful.

With a storm blowing in we were craving some clam chowder. Homegrown did satisfy that craving! Unfortunately, service was a little slow because there was only one waiter. Luckily, we were in no rush. Appearance - The warm string lights created a nice, cozy vibe. (Maybe the rained helped too!) Overall, the food was plated well. Taste- Garlic Parmesan fries- mmm so delicious with a yummy aioli to dip them in! Would highly recommend! Caution if you're sensitive to garlic... be aware that the parmesan can easily be mistaken for garlic chunks! Steamers- My husband got this and said it was very fresh and he enjoyed the broth. I tried it but I'm not a huge wine person and to me the broth was very heavy wine flavored. Fried Fish Cod Sandwich- Unfortunately I learned on this outing that I don't really love cod. The fish on this sandwich was not very meaty.
