We were staying at the Sheraton but this place is worth coming over to, regardless of whether you are a guest or not. Split the blackberry salad, which was yummy but could have done with less dressing. It's delicious; just was more than needed. If you order it have them go light on the dressing. We also split the pappadelle with venison Bolognese. Wow! This was fantastic! Crunchy carrot topping was a great touch and the sauce was just right with meat and savory flavor. Definitely would order it again. A modest charge to split the pasta was no problem. Only nit to pick: We would have liked a small roll or crouton/cracker with the salad but balked at paying for a side of foccacia bread. The service was terrible for lunch. Sat for 20 minutes without water and didn't see my waitress after she dropped off appetizers. We ran across this gem on our way LA from Oregon. Went there because we heard they were dog friendly ! Great outside patio and great food. But the best part was ,not only that my dog was welcome , but they served her a meal from the dog menu! And.... She ate it. Which was amazing because she's kind of picky. Outdoor dining is available and is not busy during the weekdays . A couple of friends and I went there last night for a small birthday dinner. I ordered the chicken entree with bone in chicken breast and lentils and an spicy orange sauce. It was pretty good, and the plating was pretty. Additionally I ordered a pink margarita that was a fun change from a regular cocktail. My friends all ordered the pizza and they loved the one with onion jam and ham and pineapple. Cocktails are pretty good as well. And the dog food, my mastiff had 4 of their bowls. They are too small for my big boy ;) But 1 star less: When I called to make the reservation as it was a special day, I was told: we've put in your request. Call 10 mins before coming...We'll have your table ready. But when I called 20 mins before arriving, I was told there is no table available. And that I had to wait for 45 mins. I requested them to help me out. But the dude on the phone was like "look I need to go, you have to wait for 45 mins". We waited for 1 hour & 15 mins before we could be seated. Being a vegetarian & having a dog with you on your trip leaves you with a very few options. So we had to wait. Went to Mosaic with a lot of $$ to spend on a gift card. Ordered what you see. The Brussel sprouts were the BOMB. Sweet and savory and perfectly prepared. My husband really liked the Old Fashion as well. The mosaic burger was ok, but the fries weren't very good. Odd flavor, cold and a bit mushy. The peach drink I ordered, I thought was awful. I cold not even pretend to drink it. The pizza wasn't very good either. The crust was limp and not very flavorful and the pizza itself lacked any pizzaz. What was awesome? The staff! Super attentive and helpful and really professional and courteous. I also liked the ambiance and the fact that I sat directly under a heater! Probably won't be back though. I have no issue spending money on meals but this place is a bit out of touch charging the prices they do especially after the pizza came out tasting like they used canned sauce and the steak salad was to tough I felt like my jaw was in the ring with Tyson. I ordered the calamari again (call me crazy) and this time it was seasoned perfectly, the batter was much better than last time and it was sooo delicious! Even then still got no help, And then we never saw either of them. had to chase down servers to order more drinks and after that tell them they have been sitting on the bar for over 5 mins. And forgot food off our orders It's one thing to be busy we understand that. but to be completely ignored on almost a 300 dollar bill while dining is incredibly insulting. First of all, this review is being written because of the great service received. From my experience it's easy to decorate a nice restaurant and present well. Great big smiles and a warm friendly attitude. However, I have to give a well deserved 5 star review to Teresa, Melissa and Nate...or as I like to refer to them as Melate and Natissa...lol. Have you ever felt like your enjoyment was the sole purpose of your waiter/waitress? The experience in which you were enjoying your meal/drinks and just the overall experience was just perfect? This is how Teresa made me feel. Just a great individual who obviously takes pride in how she presents herself. I truly wish Mosaic and their staff much success. I think they get it and I'm definitely coming back. I highly recommend you check them out. The food selection was great and the drinks were "awesome sauce goodness". PS. Have been coming here for a couple years since it opened. Usually decent food and good service. Stood at the hostess stand during lunch for a few minutes before the hostess appeared and said she would be right with us. She came out again a few minutes later and said the same thing. Shortly thereafter, a guy came out and said he would be right with us. When I told him that was the third time we were told this, he started making excuses about how short handed they were, yada yada yada. You would think they could take two seconds and at least seat us! TERRIBLE way to treat customers. I do not recommend based on their service and their poor attitudes. I hope their management listens to Yelp reviews and takes corrective action with the lunch staff. read more
