This is my first time at this restaurant, Everyone who takes care of the seating area I felt like royalty. They were so quick to seat me and get me a glass of wine while I read over the menu and decided on the mosaic burger, olives and their beautiful lemon blueberry cheesecake! I got so full from the burger I wanted to go for a walk around the beautiful grounds in between my meal and dessert. They were happy to wait for my return to serve the cheese cake and my bill. As a former and soon to be hopeful resident of the Bay area, we have to say that Mosaic is a welcome addition to this community. Snuggled amongst the Sacramento River trail, the Turtle Bay Exploratorium, the Redding Civic Auditorium and adjacent to the World Famous Sundial Bridge, this restaurant is a feat in and of itself. We have dined here after an evening under the stars, a showing at a local theater and even visited after a 13-mile long bike ride along the river trail and each time, we have been impressed with the accommodations, the waitstaff, and the ambiance! They try SO hard it's hard not to love them. Their menu is indicative of fine dining infused with cultural delicacies! If you get there late enough, they will offer you the best table the bar has to offer and it is surely a delight to experience! Culturally inclusive, sophisticated décor and a waitstaff that is both unapologetic for their lack of knowledge for big city feel yet appropriately humble for their small town approach to realism. If you have the chance whilst visiting this 'city', do stop by the bar or dine at this restaurant, it is so inviting. It was over 100 degrees, but we were ready to eat - sitting outside on the patio with the misters was surprisingly lovely! The food was good, and the small cup of water they brought for my baby was great. But the real reason I'm writing a review (which I almost never do, dear reader), is to say how awesome our server was. Reyna (did you know this name means queen? Because she's a queen!) was incredible. Quick with the food, quick with the help, quick to give our kiddo a few stickers from her stash in her notepad. She recommended the strawberry salad to me, convinced the kitchen to find mushrooms to put on my pizza, and brought out big smiles from my kid's face. Discovered this gem since we stayed at the Sheraton. The lunch here is excellent. We had the Margherita pizza, cooked in their stone oven. The kids loved it, and I loved it. Gotta eat it while it's still warm as the oil on top will feel funny on your palate. The Brussel sprouts were surprisingly sweet and perfectly tender. The burger was to die for. Super cute place. That was easily the best tortellini I've ever had. The sauce was so creamy, the radish on top added a nice texture and the inside was savory. All paired together perfectly. The margherita is a simple classic fav. Got ranch just in case the dough wasn't good but no need!! Aspen was our server he was great and knew we were splitting the entree so they took it upon themselves to split the portion for us which was appreciate. Today was our 33rd wedding anniversary. I was so looking forward to a really nice brunch and Mosaic did not disappoint! I had The Frenchie. Sourdough French Toast with raspberries, Pistachios and Lemon Curd. It was so yummy and refreshing. My Husband had the Shasta Benedict. Eggs, Black Forest Ham, onions and Hollandaise which he said was poached perfectly. He also had a Bloody Mary that he said was the best he had in a long time. It came with one olive that I stole and our waitress Adrienne was so attentive that when she brought his second Bloody Mary, it had two olives. LOL I had the Just Peachy Spritz and it was perfect for a warm day. The service and food was fantastic and we can't tee ait to go back! Oh! They are Dog Friendly for the outside seating and they even have a DOG menu! When you go, make sure you take the tome to explore Turtle Bay Park. It is so worth it. read more

I ate here twice this weekend and was impressed both times! The asparagus and carpaccio appetizers are so good I would eat them again today and honestly wish I could. I also had the duck in orange burre blanc sauce, my goodness DELICIOUS! I savored every bite. We finished off with the pot de creme which also was fabulous! Shaun, our waiter was super on top of everything too. He is knowledgeable about gluten free options and so is the kitchen, this is huge for me as I have celiac disease. I love the food here! Great news is that we sat down inside to eat! We ordered the Cesar salad and olives for appetizers, I had the classic pizza and it was delicious, my wife had the chicken and she loved it! The food here is delicious, the drinks are tasty, and the staff is very helpful. My friend and I shared the Caesar salad, stone oven asparagus, and 1000 peaks pizza. The Caesar salad was heavy my tossed in dressing which i don't mind because I LOVE Caesar dressing but do keep that in mind in case you prefer dressing on the side. The 1000 peaks pizza (Hawaiian) had a lot of sweet sauce drizzled on top. I'm not crazy about sweet sauces so I would probably ask for light sauce next time. I like the thinness of the pizza and the pizza crust. It really let the toppings shine through :) overall a really good pizza and would high my recommend! Split the blackberry salad, which was yummy but could have done with less dressing. It's delicious; just was more than needed. If you order it have them go light on the dressing. We also split the pappadelle with venison Bolognese. Wow! This was fantastic! Crunchy carrot topping was a great touch and the sauce was just right with meat and savory flavor. Definitely would order it again. A modest charge to split the pasta was no problem. Only nit to pick: We would have liked a small roll or crouton/cracker with the salad but balked at paying for a side of foccacia bread. They have a lovely outdoor space for Sunday brunch, and everything I've had here has been pretty good. The service is also top notch. I will say portions on certain dishes are on the smaller side considering the price, but you are really paying for the entire experience....just something to keep in mind. I recommend the blackberry pancakes and a 1/2 side of bacon if you want the most bang for your buck. We love Mosaic for the food and the atmosphere but today we were blown away by the INCREDIBLE service from Reyna! I took my young kids to turtle bay and initially hesitated to take them to Mosaic for lunch unsure of how they would behave. Reyna's service was impeccable, anticipating and meeting every need before I could even express it. She even gave the kids little toy airplanes and told us about her son who serves in the Air Force. When we went to leave, my daughter said "I love her, she's my friend" so we naturally had to take a photo! Even then still got no help, And then we never saw either of them. had to chase down servers to order more drinks and after that tell them they have been sitting on the bar for over 5 mins. And forgot food off our orders It's one thing to be busy we understand that. but to be completely ignored on almost a 300 dollar bill while dining is incredibly insulting.
