Fabulous food in a stunning environment, Motek really delivers in their new gorgeous Brickell location. We stopped in for a late Saturday dinner and were immediately impressed by their enormous,light, and airy dining room that transported me instantly back to Tel Aviv (helped by the vintage Israeli films being projected on the wall near our table). The menu is a map of Israel, and after ordering a bamba old fashioned (!) for me and a colada for her, we sampled from their vast collection of hot and cold mezze, with their fresh pita, Israeli salad, and fried cauliflower, tossed in a sweet sauce, being the standouts. A perfect and fresh meal for a night downtown, and one of the best spots for Israeli cuisine in the country. read more

I am surprised to see that Motek doesn't have more than 4 stars on yelp, but to me this was a solid 5 star experience. We came with a group of mixed vegetarian and non-vegetarian diners and we had a blast. We especially loved the halloumi, the crispy cauliflower, the babagonoush, and the lebanon pita. The vibe inside the restaurant is so cute, and a little scene-y. Our waiter was so friendly and helpful with recommendations. He checked in on us enough, but not in an overbearing way. This is a great spot for a date or just a fun girls dinner. I will definitely come back the next time I am in Miami! read more

Food was wonderful. Pita bread was fluffy and fresh, the babaghanoush was very refreshing and garnished well with nice presentation. You can tell they're making it from scratch. Service was okay, not super welcoming. It was also weirdly in the middle of a mall which definitely put a damper on the ambiance, surrounded by slightly sketch jewelry and pawn shops. I thought I would give this place a try. After asking the waiter about a couple of dishes I eventually went with the waiter's recommendation of the lamb chops. I didn't realize until after I ordered it that I did't see a price for it on the menu. It ended up being way more than I wanted to spend, more than double than the original dishes I was interested in. The dish ended up being approximately 90 dollars total after gratuity and tax. The meat was made well, but it was too salty for my liking, but ultimately I wish I knew about the price, because I would have ordered something else. Update: There is a reply to reach-out to them, but the site provided does not work for me and when just searching for it, it is confusing and unfamiliar. Was finally able to try this delicious place everyone raves about for Miami Spice. tried it with a friend so we got all the dips to try for an appetizer and they were all so good in their own way. Their homemade pita bread was so delicious! I ended up getting the sandwich. Wasn't my favorite. It was just a lot of bread for me. My friend got the chicken and rice which looked delicious. Disappointing experience here. Went recently for lunch and was appalled at how small the portion sizes are for the entrees! I got the chicken kebab entree and when ordering I was told it would be a lot of food, but it clearly wasn't. The kebabs looked as if they were sliced by a third of what they should look like. The vegetable portion was also measly. $26. You could go down the street on US1 to Daily Bread and get a much more filling meal, more flavorful at half the cost. Although the ambiance and service were nice, our meal was interrupted by police sirens from the street below and sawing from the burger joint under construction next door. Small portions, expensive, not too flavorful and I left hungry. Needless to say I won't be coming back. read more

Not bad, not great. I suppose it's my fault my sister-in-law warned me this place was not what I would expect. The ambiance is excellent, the food is better than average restaurants; HOWEVER being an Israeli cuisine style restaurant, this place missed the bar. I understand the need to Americanize some aspects but it gets to a point where you can go too far. The service was efficient and polite. As an American that has been to Israel, I'll tell you right now the street food is better. Anyone that has experienced true Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern dining knows that the table gets showered with salads and tahini and/or hummus portions are more than a table spoon. When did they change to using peanut oil to deep fry all the hot foods? Even the falafel?! Our server asked if we had any allergies and my friend has peanut allergies. We ordered 6 items to share and the server took our order, left, then returned a few minutes later to say 4 items we ordered were cooked in peanut oil! This made me think it's a recent change since he didn't realize or maybe he was new? Glad he asked but ridiculous. Since when is Mediterranean food cooked in peanut oil? Why wasn't this listed on the menu online so we could've avoided this place? Not a single item was to be raved about. The fried food I got was deep fried, nothing tasted like fresh mediterranean. Very disappointing and felt like a decline in quality, and a cheap American version of Mediterranean food. read more

Food delicious as usual though I think the hummus dishes are getting smaller and smaller. The egglplant crispy and the califlower dishes are both misses, and hummus plates seem to be getting smaller, but rest of the dishes were a hit including both chicken dishes and the lamb chops. Waiter seemed a bit distracted and language challenged and checked his watch once too much, but was hard working and got the order right. Their shots for drinks are far from generous, but anyways ... The only reason we even stepped foot here was because the Cuban restaurant 10 feet away was so packed and we settled for this restaurant. So it's overpriced, the food is bad, and the service was horrendous. Server didn't bother asking what I wanted to drink and screwed up an order in my group. Wouldn't recommend this spot. First off, this place is absolutely stunning. The details they considered are beautiful. The servers are attentive and friendly. It's a little on the higher price side, but you get what you pay for. My wife and I just had a drink each ($18) and a meat hummus ($22). The bread that came with the velvety hummus was piping hot when we were served it and we both thoroughly enjoyed the flavors and fresh buttery pita-like bread. Motek is a gorgeous restaurant nestled on the top floor of Brickell city center. You are instantly transported by the interior decor and soft lighting. I went with friends for dinner to celebrate the beginning of spring break and enjoyed every part of my experience. The drinks were fabulous and beautifully garnished. We opted for the It's About Chime, Bamba Old Fashioned, and Tel Aviv Colada. I always appreciate restaurants with unique cocktail lists and Motek did not disappoint. We ate a LOT, but the highlights were definitely the Middle Eastern dumplings, Moroccan cigars, and grilled artichokes. For dessert, the bread pudding was insane. Our server was always close by and the food was ready promptly in spite of how busy it was. He was also very accommodating to my friend's nut allergy and made sure everything that could be made without nuts was prepared without them, warning us about the one dish that couldn't be made nut allergy friendly. It's truly dangerous to have this many good restaurants nearby! read more

I don't even know where to start. I'm a foodie and this is in my top 5 favorite restaurants in the world. I was here for work and went 4 out of 5 days. On my last day I got a warning on my cellphone that said to bunker down because there was a tornado, and I ran to motek to shelter there. I'm not kidding. It was totally worth it. The challah French toast was sensational. In my 4 times eating here, there's not a single dish that didn't slap. Also the service was wonderful. I'd seriously consider moving closer to Miami to be near Motek. They need to open in New York, they'd make a killing! read more

Unfortunately I cannot comment about the food because I had to leave this place as we were denied our choice of seating in the open patio area!! We are serious foodies and pretty much go out to try new places every weekend and will drive if a place peaks our curiosity. On the day in question, we drove almost one hour to check what's new in Brickell and we came across this restaurant that had some interesting offerings on its menu so, we saw two 4-seat tables available in the outdoor patio area, no waiting, no serious traffic to speak of, and we asked to be seated there but the staff (and seemingly a manager) were bent on sending us to seat inside to a smaller tale for 2. Now, I ran a restaurant many moons ago and understand the reason such a response would make sense where the place is packed with a line out the door but, again, this was not the case and frankly, nowhere in the USA, Canada, Europe, Latin America, have we ever had this happened to us before..... We insisted on our choice as we wanted to be outdoors and we prefer the larger table because we order a few items and find that smaller tables are not suitable for the way we order. But no, the staff and who I believe to be a manager were incredibly short-sighted and that led to us walking out and checking another place instead. The funny thing is that we would have probably ordered as many if not more items than the 4-people the available tables could fit. So, terrible job unless losing patrons is what you aim for. read more

Excellent food and overall experience! We have been to Miami many times, but this has been our favorite place so far. The dishes were so rich in flavors and the delivery was creative too! We ordered a few cold and hot messes and one plater of chicken, and we were so impressed (we travelled and lived in multiple countries, so we can definitely judge the quality). We went over board with the dessert because it all looked so good, and it really was devine! It isn't cheap, but it was worth it! Our service was very attentive and he knew each item in the menu very well! Also, beautiful ambiance - I appreciated the decor and the music Only at times the music was too loud, but then someone would request to lower the volume. read more

I've been 4 times since it's opened and my favorite is hands down is their babaganoush (smoked eggplant dip) as the warm pita it's served with is so delicious, freshly baked! My second fav is their chicken shawarma pita! We ordered have tried their other appys, hummus tehina, hummus mushrooms, grilled halloumi, and the grilled artichoke. We also ordered their Safta Hana Hawayej cocktails which is Tequila & Mezcal shaken with Fresh Brewed Espresso and Organic Agave infused with a roasted Oaxacan coffee blend and topped with Nana's Hawaiij Foam, tbh, I didn't care for the foam as it smelled like it's made from eggs, take on Pisco perhaps? Everyone enjoyed the starters. As for the mains, we also ordered the Turkish pide, chicken shish kabob, spicy schnitzel & eggplant (most popular sandwich) and the arayes burger along with majadra rice & lentils with tzatziki. All In all enjoyable meals and plan to continue to go back to try more items from their menu. I've also tried their salmon kebabs on my first visit and a tad bit too salty for our taste but hoping that can be adjusted. It's been crowded so would recommend making a reservation when possible but have walked in 2 out the 3 times also and been seated. The restaurant's decor is lovely as they took over the Thai space. The service has been hit or miss as they have a lot of servers but some appear to be still in training. read more
