As always, I got on my phone, checked out Yelp and made the call. Based on its location next to water, attentive staff, good beer and great food, I'd say Yelp for the win. We decided to eat inside with wait staff versus ordering our food and drinks at the counter. I don't think there is a wrong choice as you can enjoy the view or solid service. This working brewery has a large selection of beers and a full bar. I went with an IPA and my dining partner had a sour (which our waitress was kind enough to let her sample first). Although it wasn't 4pm, I was allowed to order the fish and chips. It was hot, flavorful and filling for $20. I especially liked the malt vinegar aioli for my fries. My partner had a generous chicken sandwich and tots. The order was hot, tasty and satisfying. The hockey heavy themed brewery was a hit with us. Give it a try if you get to the neighborhood.

At 1.5hrs, I went to get in the ordering line to get a refund. I was told a 'manager' could help me and they sent a guy named Cameron. I told him how long we've been waiting and to please give me a refund so we can go somewhere where we can actually eat. I warned a couple in line bc I truly don't want anyone to go through the same. Cameron said 'if you haven't noticed, we've been packed all day.' He has apparently never been to another restaurant and was unaware there are tons of places that are slammed every day and get food out in a timely manner. I was a server for 4 yrs and the concept of giving a customer attitude and trying to defend incompetence when they've been waiting 1.5hrs is mind-boggling. I would've been apologizing profusely and embarrassed. So- go somewhere else. In addition to never getting food, you'll get attitude from the staff when you have the nerve to complain. Look at other reviews- service (wait time and attitude) is horrible.

If you haven't already hiked Silver Dollar Lake or driven Guanella Pass, you should definitely check them out. I also ordered a medium matcha with vanilla and my total came out to about $20, which is a little pricey in my opinion but the portion size makes up for it. The matcha was good, but quick tip: if you like your drinks sweet, make sure to ask for sugar or flavor. I always forget and end up with a bitter drink lol. Everyone here is always super nice and welcoming. I genuinely have nothing bad to say about this place. I go here often and already plan to be back in a couple weeks. My family loved the food and when I picked up the order, they did tell me the fries are cooked in beef fat or seasoning or something like that and asked if I still wanted them (knowing vegetarians ordered veggie burgers). I do wish they put this on the menu before we ordered but grateful they shared. They very well could've not told me. My family enjoyed them. The only thing that can be improved is the cleanliness. I think the diner chairs were a bit dirty and could use a scrub down. Other than fries I wished I could eat and a bit of a scrub, we were pleased to come here.

The server brought us filled glasses and then told us if we wanted any refills, we could get them ourselves from the big cooler jug outside. Um...okay. The rest of the service was pretty much the same -- apathetic. We ordered a flight of beer for the four adults at the table. It was about $30 and came with about 15 small glasses of cider, one of each flavor they served. We shared it and got to sample everything that way. I ordered the Cider Burger (medium rare) with fries as my side. It came out medium well, which instantly ruins and dries out any good burger experience. The fries were tepid as well. I don't think we even saw our server again until the end, and even then we had to wait for awhile for the check. So, overall, It was just an okay experience. If I'm in the Idaho Springs area again, I wouldn't return to Clear Creek Cidery & Eatery. I'd definitely explore other options.
