The best soufflé pancake I've ever had in California. It is soft and firm at the same time. Tastes amazing! The texture, the smell, the flavors are all perfect. Super cute decor. Lovely staffs. Try the sparkling drinks. They are good

I've never had Japanese souffle pancakes before so when I saw this place nearby, I figured that I would try it out. We came in around 9:30am and were seated right away. Not even 30 minutes later the whole place was packed. I ordered the Benedict Pancakes ($22) and the seasonal Biscuit souffle pancakes ($18). I also tried the Tonkatsu Curry ($16). For a drink I got the pot of Peach Momo Tea ($6). My benedict pancakes came out first. The souffle pancakes and the tonkatsu curry came out at the same time 30 minutes later. The benedicts weren't bad, but I probably wouldn't get them again. The yolk was solid and not runny and the pancakes were just normal flat pancakes, and they were kind of dry. The tonkotsu and the Japanese pancakes were way better. Both were very flavorful and nice and hot. For the tea pots you also get refills, so we got a lot to drink with that. For a two-person table, it was definitely too small to hold everything that we ordered. Luckily by the time the curry and the pancakes came out I was already finished with my benedict pancakes and was able to give it to them to clear out to make room for the other dishes. Service was good, the wait for the food was long but they were still attentive enough to get us what we needed. Once you get your food they try to get you out as quickly as possible since the longer it went the longer the wait outside was for a table. Overall it was a nice breakfast/brunch experience. It is a bit pricey, but some dishes are better than others. I would come back either for the Japanese pancakes or the curry. The tea was great too. I would probably skip the eggs benedict next time though.

Had a yummy brunch this morning. They were pretty busy so service was as good as can be given the circumstances. Food was good. We enjoyed our Wagyu burgers and French toast but the kitchen was off with their timing. We were done with the Wagyu burgers by the time the French toast came out. But it was delicious. Drinks were good and ambiance was nice. Love the decorated pillar.

Gram Cafe added a new lunch menu with the option to get 20% off the souffle pancakes. So if you order three lunch sets, you can get up to three pancakes with the discount. The unagi tamago bowl was the best tasting one. FYI the regular pancake order comes with three pancakes, but the special flavored ones only have two pancakes. This would have been helpful to know prior to sharing the meal.

Gram Café & Pancakes is Japanese food, and it is great. I have never had these type of Japanese pancakes before. They are really like a souffle. They are much taller and thicker than an American pancakes. They are wonderful. They also have a lunch menu and have great bowls. Their service is just the best. They are nice and will explain to you all you need to know about the menu. It is somewhat large so let them help you. I know they want you to be happy. The prices are fair and there is plenty of parking. The area is also very nice to walk, there are other places near and you will like it. It is great neighborhood. We love their Premium Takes 30 mins (Weekend might take up to 60 mins) Now it takes Takes 30 mins (Weekend might take up to 60 mins) so be ready for that. It is strawberry mascarpone crème anglaise garnished with fresh strawberries topped with signature 2-stacks of Premium strawberry pancake. We also love their Geso Fry Fried squid legs served with spicy mayo. It is so tasty. They also have bowls. You will love their coffee. Have fun.

We ordered the geso fry, chicken karaage & tonkatsu curry. All were delicious choices! We would normally come for the soufflé pancakes also but today we didn't try them but they are definitely worth trying as well!

When I saw the Sakura Lychee Pancake, I immediately had to go try it. I was prepared for the wait as the souffle pancakes do take a while, which was totally fine! The pancake was light, floral and refreshing. I genuinely savored every bite. In terms of the service, we did wait a while as we were ready to collect a check. A server came back and asked if we were ready for our check and we replied yes. We waited an extra 10-15 minutes for the check even with our plates stacked. Eventually, I called another server and they handed us the check right away. The second server was apologetic about the wait which I appreciated. I totally understand how hectic it can get but I do wish that the service was a bit more attentive.

Pros: - Lots of parking as it's in a mall complex - Delicious!! - Vegetarian options available - Inside is super cute! Cons: - If you order pancakes, they often take 40+ minutes to be made - Little seating and often very loud inside

This shop is located in Atlantic Times Square Plaza in Monterey Park, basically right next to AMC Monterey Park. There's plenty of parking located in the underground structure for the plaza. I tried the Wagyu Beef Curry and Tiramisu Cuptake but both were disappointing. The "Wagyu" Beef Curry's beef was pretty dry, especially since they called it wagyu. The curry was standard fare but at least the dish looked nice from a plating perspective. The tiramisu cuptake did taste like tiramisu but it was also dry and the flavor was not memorable. I would not come here for their non-pancake items just based off that experience but YMMV!

My friend brought me here for my birthday brunch and what a treat! I had not heard of this place before as I don't live in the area but it was poppin' ! The wait was about 30 minutes so we added our name to the wait list and relaxed by the fountain while we waited. We received a text that our table was ready and we entered the restaurant, which was a Café style with tables for 2-4 people. We ordered to share. The crème brûlée pancakes were my ultimate disappointment, I was so excited to try them out and the sauce was just too eggy for my taste. This was a miss for me. The server did tell us that the pancakes do take a while to come out so we were surprised that they were the first item to come out! We ordered the french toast and this was my absolute favorite. It was light and delightful! 10/10 but it does take some time to come out. We also tried the wagyu curry, 10/10! Delicious, filling and with an egg on top! To drink I opted for the matcha with strawberry and it was so good. I would definitely come back here to try the mango pancakes, it looks like people around us were ordering those!

    Original fluffy pancake!

Cute place for brunch! It looks like it's run by people who really care about the food and experience of the cafe! We got the original fluffy pancakes and they were amazing! They melted in your mouth and it was a great portion size for two people :) I would personally not recommend the honeycomb latte because it tasted a bit water down :( Anyways def come for the food and ambiance :)

I brought my friend for a birthday brunch. The directions keep taking me to the street behind where it actually is. It's right across the street from a grocery store. There's free parking in an underground garage. We came towards the end of the lunch rush so we had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. It did take a while to get checked in. The host saw us and immediately left. Two other workers saw us enter and did say anything or even acknowledge us so I wasn't sure if we even had to check in. But you do. Give them your name and number to get on the list. We ordered a bunch of food since everything looked so good. We wanted to try it all. Wagyu Curry 10/10. Why are you still reading this? Order it. We finished the entire plate. Crème Brûlée Pancakes 7/10. I loved the texture of the pancakes. But the problem was I ordered it flavored. Skip the flavors and just get the original. The sauce was too eggy. Also, I wish they had torched some sugar to give it a nice candied layer like true crème brûlée. Mixed Berries French Toast 8/10. We originally ordered the banana but they had run out. So we ordered the next best thing. It was absolutely delicious. As much as we loved it, it felt like it was lacking something. It's pure carbs and fruit. It's missing a protein component. Is order again, but for the price I wish it had come with eggs or meat. Matcha Strawberry Iced Dalgona 10/10. I love matcha but I'm meh about strawberries. I thought I'd like it, but assumed it'd be too sweet. I'm so glad to be wrong! The strawberries tasted as if they were freshly muddled in house. It was perfection. Not too sweet. No tartness. I finished this. Iced Honeycomb Latte 10/10. I ordered this to go since I had a long 1.5 hour drive home. It was beautiful and delicious. I never got a chance to bite into the honeycomb. But in time on my long commute, it slowly dissolved into the coffee offering a hint of sweetness. Guess I'll have to come back

    Cheesy bulgogi
    Sharlene D.

I came here for brunch w the girls and the vibes were great! It was a cute cafe with a good amount of seating. The parking was also easy to find since there was a large garage for that plaza. The service was also pretty quick with the food. However if you don plan to order the pancake order that when u first come in since it took about 30 mins for it to be ready. They do warn you on the menu that it can be longer on weekends. Cheesy bulgogi 7/10: this dish was pretty good. The cheese was torched so it had that nice charred smell to it. The meat is salty by itself but mixed with the rice it comes out perfect! Mango pancake 9/10: super fluffy and jiggly! The only complaint is that the mango itself was rly sour. Not sure if it's because the pancake was already sweet so when eating the fruit it must've made it taste more sour lol. But the texture was great and the cream was not too sweet that how I like it! takoyaki 8/10: crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Solid Takoyaki! Overall it's a cute cafe to go and catch up with your friends. The price is okay but they have a lunch special deal m-f 11-3pm that I wasn't able to get but I would def come back for that. :)

WOW! Each bite felt like a warm, decadent cloud. (Important Note: These Pancakes have a LONG wait. Each Jiggly Pancake had an expected 20 to 30 minute preparation time. Also, I recommend eating it dine-in. If you wait too long, these fluffy treats promptly get mushy.) I arrived at Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel) on Wednesday (11AM - Opening Time). Parking is easy. There's an underground lot for extra parking. Customers primarily order at the self-service kiosk. Customers must pay with card and insert phone number in the kiosk, but Customers can pay cash at the counter. Dine in customers grab a metal number that's stacked between the kiosks. Staff spoke limited English, but Staff is professional, diligent, and accommodating. My order took 24 minutes. As mentioned, I love the Creme Brûlée Soufflé Pancake ($17.50). It's plated and presented lovingly and seductively. It's memorable. With each motion, I bit hard onto its fluffy, lightly sweetened body. I savored how the creme brûlée's creamy sauce dribbled. It's layered, supple, and thick. I shake the plate. It dances. On ambiance, Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel) is comfortable. There's about seven interior tables and two counters. The music is slow-tempo and gentle. And it's clean. There's also a gender neutral restroom for customers. Overall, I created lovely memories at Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel). The wait is extremely long, but I found contentment at this journey's end. If you love wiggly pancakes & have plenty of time to spare, this is an easy recommendation. 4.8 out of 5

Souffle pancakes in different occasions always look so pretty, are the best everyone's ever had, some some flavor profiles don't work. Maybe that's why the menu sometimes changes. For example the yuzu grape was completely bland because the yuzu drizzle on top was a thin line i couldn't taste at all. At least put a spread between each layer or pour a lot on top like the others (eg berry or mango). The mint leaves was the most potent flavor in this dish. Over the grapes, blueberries, matcha powder, yuzu. Got the mango triple layer drink this time and if you drink it carefully, you can appreciate the contrast from the mango puree, the milk, the creamy salted matcha. If you just mix it up completely you won't get that affect. One thing that bothers me is because the menu changes I seem to always be unable to get something I'm thinking of from the previous visit. I recall last time I had some mochi and rice ball I added to a drink that was so damn good and I couldn't add it this time. Though I recall that drink being $11.50 from the add ons. The souffle pancake was $21... so place is $$ but again the quality is there. Service wise, never interacted with staff really. Kiosk to order. Drinks just sit at counter when done. Didn't call numbers. Oh they did bring the pancake, no words spoken.

The Cafe latte came out really hot (which is what we wanted) but my pistachio latte was lukewarm and it had more of a Matcha flavor to it than pistachio. Both looked so cute and tasted good but I preferred their cafe latte. My aunt ordered their American Breakfast and I ordered their Good Morning Omelette (basically build your own omelette). Their dishes were really good, especially their home fries. My aunts eggs and bacon came out perfect. My omelette tasted really fresh with lots of fresh veggies, like spinach, mushrooms, and ham. The only hiccup that we had was that the food took almost an hour to come out. I think they had an issue with the ticket, and didn't get put in so it came out way later. Our waiter Fabian was very apologetic and gave us a discount on our bill. Because of the friendly service and the good food, we will definitely be back to try other items.

They don't take reservations for brunch, but they have a Yelp waitlist you can join ahead of time. There was only around a 15 min wait for us when we went on a Sunday for brunch. Service was friendly and attentive, and the dishes we tried were all delicious and thoughtfully prepared. - Cold sesame noodles - so yummy and flavorful! The sesame sauce was so good and nutty and the chili crisp added a nice extra kick. A big portion size so great for sharing too - Breakfast plate - comes with your choice of protein, so we got the grass-fed hanger steak. I love their take on the hash brown - it was hearty and thick with a delightfully crispy exterior - Cornmeal mochi pancake - was so excited to try this one! Loved the mochi texture with the cornmeal flavor, and it was not overly sweet or heavy. Very sharable! Parking: there's a nearby parking structure with free parking as well as an open parking lot directly behind the restaurant

So I returned and deferred to her ordering, and so glad I did! We got the cold sesame noodles, squash and kale salad, and mochi pancake, and some sort of mushroom/egg dish. My favorites were the first two, all ingredients were super fresh and well seasoned/dressed. Go early as there's typically a wait.

Knowing what I know now as I write this review, we would return & bring friends here. It's about 78 to 80°F on a Friday a few minutes before 1 pm, surprisingly, it was low key--only a couple tables taken indoors by patrons and a set of guys on the patio. At the door, it said to seat ourselves & I immediately shot to the patio. The set up: once seated, the server comes with menus, you order & it's a sit down meal. Giselle was our friendly & attentive server, young & attentive. Hubby ordered the breakfast burrito ($11.50) & I opted for build your own omelette $11.50 for a 3 egg omelette & choice of two items- mushroom and bell peppers accompanied with breakfast potatoes, and chilaquiles ($13.99) to share. The patio seating is fresh, airy, there are tables, outdoor furnitures (sofas) and bright orange umbrellas for shade. My photos captured these elements. The food arrived shortly, although not all at once. I didn't mind it all because the ambiance was so soothing with the sound of birds chirping away and the background of other patrons talking. The only complaint from Hubby was too many pototo chunks in his burrito. My omelette was hot, fresh ingredients, delectable & the potatoes were mixed with 3 colors of bellpeppers. Oh and the chilaquiles? Pretty darn good! The tortilla chips were crispy, perfect amount of green salsa, freshly diced onions & a sprinkling of cotija cheese. Was I famished or was it that good that I devoured everything? What's left was Hubby's potato chunk discards. Giselle returned a few times to ensure our experience is to our satisfaction & another staff also stopped by to check on us. Such a perfect meal & day-- I'm so happy with this visit. Parking is plentiful & free.
