I just picked up a pizza after a long day out 'cause I'm staying at the hotel next door. Crust is thicker than I am used to, but it's very filing and the toppings are generous on the Pineapple Chicken Luau. I ordered the small (abt 10/11") that has 10 slices cut (I know, crazy, right?!), but this large gal feels good after just 2 slices (see photo). I like the entire flavor profile of the specialty pie I got. It might not end up being *your* favorite style of pizza, but a lotta things would have to go wrong for it to be bad. We're from Pasadena and we're staying at a nearby hotel. We got the two gluten free crust pizzas were veggies and it was 10/10.

I ordered a large half garden, half hawaiian to go, it was $28, which I was surprised at. It was ready in under 15 mins. I had hoped the price would be equivalent to the quality but I'm fairly disappointed. The garden vegetables were totally tasteless (basil, pepper, onion, mushroom, zuchinni) and the hawaiian side had barely any red sauce. The pineapple was cold while the rest of the pizza was hot which makes me think it was put on last (why tho?) The garlic sauce under the garden side was tasty, but it was the only note that made up for the otherwise lame pizza. read more

There are very few places with longer hours and accomadating service in Scotts Valley these days, or anywhere around. The staff here has always been extremely accomadating and friendly. I really appreciate this shop for that reason- it's run and staffed by some great people. The food is good, and better for you than any other pizza I've had. They must use good ingredients because I'm on a very restrictive diet (when cooking for myself I only eat real food and no veg/seed oils/cut olive oils), to the point where eating hand made pasta upsets my stomach. I never get sick eating here, and that speaks volumes given how many things make me feel ill. Love this shop, and after a number of great experiences I want the world to know how awesome they've been to me and my GF. We're two people, but we're a little family, and that shop makes us feel welcome and at home. read more

Shame on You! I called from our hotel where they have sponsored the tv remote in the room . I called and the manager answered. I explained that I was taking care of my one year and 3 year old grandkids at the hotel from Out of town. I told him I needed all the help I could get to make it nice for us. He assured me and helped me order. Said he'd get the pizza here ASAP. I pleaded for lots of plates, napkins, utensils as I had nothing in the room. An hour later I called back. Wow, I have to say that was probably the worst pizza I have ever had in my life. Maybe the second worst next to 7-11 pizza next to the hot dogs. Mountain Mike's slogan is "pizza the way it outta be". This is the first time I've been to a MM and for sure the last. The crust was nearly burned and tough like cardboard the cheese was like plastic after being melted and getting hard again. All together terrible. Meh, we order from here ALOT. Last night was a disappointment. First off, the main guy that works there, idk his name but he answers the phone almost every time, pretty sure he's the manager, anyways, he sucks at taking orders. Every time my partner tries to tell him our order the guy interrupted him. He interrupted twice when trying to tell him the order was for delivery. The man hung up before giving us an order number, amount due or an estimated time of delivery. We waited an hour, nothing. (It's a 15min drive from our house to the store) we call in and the first guy we talked to answers, and hastily tells us the pizza is out and the drive left "10 minutes ago, no 15 minutes ago, he'll be in your area any minute" CLICK! Hangs up on us. 2MINUTES LATER a different employee calls us and asks for our name and address, then informs us OUR PIZZA IS SITTING ON TOP OF THE OVEN POSTED AS PICK UP. "Do you want to come get it or should we send it for delivery when our guy gets back" ya gotta be efffin kiddin me. So we waited another 20 min until our pizza arrived. Soggy and warm. no discount. No apology. NOTHING. I'm usually pretty chill and understand that ya can't get it all right all The time, but that MFer didn't even check, he just straight up, didn't do his job. Usually I wait to get to my computer to write a review but I got so much good beer for so cheap here, I had some time to put down my thoughts. First of all, a half pitcher on Ninkasi IPA for only $7.50 is the best deal ever, it's like happy hour all night. But wait, it's only $9.50 for a whole pitcher! Crazy, (don't tell beer thirty that charges $7 for a pint...) But wait some more! They have pizza too, and it's pretty damn good! It's made on the ole conveyor oven and it's perfectly round like all pizza chains but it's perfectly cooked and although this was my first visit, I would bet it's consistent. I ordered a small pepperoni and sausage thin crust pizza for myself. The toppings were abundant and flavorful and the thin crust was cooked nice and crisp all the way through. The small was plenty to fill me up and I had a couple slices to take home... I'm on a mission to try and review all the pizza in Scotts Valley so the jury is still out whether I'll be back or not but I would recommend this place. read more

Great pizza and is not salty. We get the plain cheese pizza. The sauce and crust are good and doesn't need a bunch of toppings. They have the best garden salad with lots of toppings. It's always fresh, just washed produce. Good tasting ranch too. Half the reason I order is the salad. I like the jalapeño poppers and my hubby like the breaded bbq wings. We were staying at the Hilton Scotts Valley and looking for a reasonable place to eat when we came across Mountain Mike's. A quick walk from the hotel made it very convenient and their menu had some interesting combinations. We ordered a medium Sizzlin' Bacon Classic, which was more than enough for the two of us. Our pizza came out quickly and the combination of ingredients worked well. I especially liked the crispness of the bottom crust, so many other pizzas have a soggy crust. Santa Cruz may not do ethnic food well, but it sure does American food well. There's a plethora of pizza places in this area, but I admit this is quality. A bit pricy at that (12 something for a small, individual pizza. Good Lord.), but at least the beer is cheap. I can't verify this is always the case, but on Friday nights, a pitcher of beer is $3.50. That was definitely the case when I last went. This is a great place to perpetuate the drunchies and eat some damn good, greasy pizza. If you're not into consuming/sharing a whole pitcher of cheap booze, there's actually a good selection of craft bottled beer available. I was surprised to see such a great selection actually. Let me explain the four star review for a regular pizza franchise: super, super nice people that worked there. This location appears family owned and is conveniently located across from the Hilton, whose restaurant is compromised due to construction. Anyway, back to the family... ...everybody was so sweet and so helpful and service-oriented, at a place where maybe one wouldn't expect much service, a pizza franchise in a strip mall. The food? Pizza was solid or better: hot, cheesy and loaded. The fact that it didn't come out in 2 seconds suggests it's not some frozen garbage (I know nothing about the provenance of Mountain Mike's pizza).
