We had moved twice within a year with Mountain Moves. The size of our move was approximately that of a 2-bedroom apartment. Excellent experience all around with their services, including some details below: - Administration, coordination via phone with Joseph. He was very responsive and helpful from start to end. For our 1st move, we only had a week to move, and Joseph was able to secure a slot for us last minute. Extra thanks to Mountain Moves that they came on a Sunday during a long holiday weekend. - Their digital proposal/contract template helped us document, organize household inventory room by room for our move. This gave us a good estimation of the volume of material we needed to move and the size of the truck from Mountain Moves. Our move each time required a crew of 3. - The crew members came in company uniform and were easily recognizable. Each crew were polite, easy to work with, and very accommodating. The foreman or lead for each move listened and discussed with us some of the more challenging items for moving, and gave us good input. They are very strong people and this made our move much easier than expected. - On the day of each move, communication was smooth both via phone calls and text. They arrived on time each time. This was very important so that we can stay on schedule. - Efficient, professional with packing and moving. They wrapped all of our major pieces of furniture, some quite heavy including a marble dining table. Not a scratch throughout the move. - A big shout out for each hard working crew. The 1st move crew was led by Alfredo. The 2nd move crew was led by David (who went above and beyond to help us rearranged furniture as needed). He explained the process and provided recommendations for packing items for storage. They were courteous and put down mats to protect the floors and door. Gerald is a stand up guy! He came out awhile back and did a walkthrough upon my request to provide an estimate for our move. His quote seemed quite reasonable and detailed. When moving day came he came to our house on time with 3 additional guys, a big truck and all the supplies they'd need to properly protect our houses and our goods during the move. The crew worked SO hard and were very attentive to our needs and desires. My only complaint is the job took longer than Gerald had anticipated. Pros (Giving 2 stars for this): - Movers did move all the things - They did pack some of the things/furniture Cons: - There were 3 guys, a foreman and 2 movers. Movers barely spoke any English. The foreman did speak some. - The foreman and the manager (I called the office to let him know right in the beginning of the move) misestimated the volume my things will occupy in the car. Although the foreman expressed a slight doubt that things will fit in their small-sized truck he didn't want to bring in a bigger truck. Instead, he spent 5 hours figuring out how to stuff the truck they already had. They ended up abandoning all of my clothes, and some things in the apartment. They spent an extra hour or more loading all the clothing and then unloading it. I had to do a round trip of 200 miles to pick up the remains. - When I asked for a discount for 2 hours because of the inconvenience, I was offered a half an hour discount and the final discount was just an hour of work. - Movers were working at a speed I would describe as something between slow and mediocre - Because they squeezed a lot of things inside, some of the things got scratched. For example, a whiteboard, computer desk. etc. - When they were unloading stuff, I asked them to put the majority of things in the garage. I also asked to bring some furniture to the bedrooms. Movers probably were tired at the moment. They scratched some walls and damaged some casing. - They forgot to assemble some of the furniture and also forgot to give me back the screws for it. - Some of the things, like bicycles were not returned to the way they were. I tipped the guys; they did the job they were sent for. I'm leaving a 2-star review for the company. If you want a better rating hire better guys for the hourly rate you charge. Also not wanting to give a discount to a client who was wronged is a bad way to conduct business. read more

Bait and switch. I dealt with three professionals (one who gave initial quote, secondly a move manager who called 24 hours before the move and thirdly the actual person who managed the movers). Each one gave a different estimate for time it would take to do the move. The move manager brushed off the original quote from his company - " what does that woman know? " Sure, that makes a customer feel reassured. For a move that was less than 10 miles and didn't include any packing outside of few furniture items, we ended up paying nearly 3X the original quote amount. Bad work ethic, bad experience and clearly bait and switch. Stay away. read more

This is by far, the worst moving company ever!!! The movers damaged most all our furniture without taking any accountability. They did not wrap the furniture as they were supposed to. Not only did they damage our furniture, but they also damaged the wall and hardwood floor! The movers were extremely rude and unprofessional. When the damages were brought to their attention, one of the movers started yelling and denying everything. He then wanted to leave the premises without finishing the job! Their services included early morning arrival, prepared the location with protectors to the wall, door frames & floors, performed all the wrapping, packing of all the items, loaded everything to the truck for the long distance move.
