I am writing this review for Mountain Moves, regarding 2 moves on the dates of 11/30/24 and 12/14/24. During the initial move, 11/30/24, I had recently found Mountain Moves through a search on Angie's List. I was a little skeptical because reviews were mixed, but after speaking with the company and getting a quote that was more reasonable than other moving companies I had contacted, I decided to give this company a try, and I was so happy that I did. Mountain Moves was very thorough, punctual, and communicative prior to our scheduled move day and time. They contacted us to confirm our move the day prior, and the morning of, they updated us with texts and phone calls to notify us of their expected arrival. I also want to highlight something that really stood out to me. Joseph, was the lead mover assigned for our job, and I had not properly communicated the size of our move, but Joseph made the effort to accommodate an anticipated 2 hour job, that was extended into a 6 hour job. During this time, Joseph and crew were very attentive to the needs of our move, and they made efforts to ensure the best care for our belongings, especially the fragile items like large televisions, lamps, mirrors and other breakable items. Our apartment was also a unique layout that made it difficult to get our large sofa out of the apartment, but Joseph and crew were still able to find a solution to safely move our sofa out of the apartment without incident. I was so impressed with Mountain Moves that I decided to hire them for my second move, which was a long distance move. Joseph was generous to take on our large move from the East Bay Area to Central Coast, California and quoted us a reasonable rate. On 12/14/24 Mountain Moves once again arrived promptly, and communicated their anticipated arrival via text in advance. This job was anticipated to take approximately 12 hours. John (lead mover) and crew exercised great attention to detail, care for our belongings and great communication. Of note, it was a rainy day, and we noticed a defect in the truck, which we later reported to the company. Despite the defect, John and crew made their best effort to protect our belongings and they were able to prevent any major damage or losses. Even after a long day and a large move job, John and crew arrived to the destination and unpacked all of our belongings, furniture and fragile possessions with care. Overall, I was very pleased with the service provided by Mountain Moves, and I confidently recommend them to anyone who is seeking movers in the areas they serve. Their rates are honest and reasonable, the crew members will handle your belongings with attention to detail and care, and if you have any concerns, those will also be taken into careful consideration until a solution is reached. read more

I've "moved" over 20 times in my lifetime... I have to say that what I experienced with Mountain Movers was by far the best. When I first contacted Mountain Movers I was greeted by a courteous and knowledgeable scheduler who explained what to expect, the process, and prices. While waiting on the scheduled move they kept in constant contact through email with helpful tips while not being to intrusive. On the day of the move I was not quite ready so they cheerfully rescheduled my move to 2 days later. On the rescheduled move day I was contacted precisely when they said they would and told to expect the moving team to be there in a few minutes. The team was already there. The foreman introduced his self and the rest of the team. While performing a site survey he asked about the logistics of the two part move, 1st part was storage, 2nd part was to my home. For the next 4 hours (nonstop), all I did was select what when on 1st and what when last. They smoothly moved everything out, carefully wrapping what needed to be wrapped. Then it time to goto the 1st drop off at the storage facility 15 minutes away. We got there and started to unload and move "stuff" in to the storage locker. They helped me reorganize the locker and the like playing Tetris everything was logically placed so I could access it easily later. There was no reluctance to helping me do this extra bit of work - the team just did it - no muss no fuss ! Then it was off to drop off what was left to my home. Everything was unloaded and place exactly where I required it with minimum effort. All in all the most pleasant move I've ever made. I have moved with Mountain Moves twice now for local moves in the SF Bay Area. I worked with different teams and each time and the experience was phenomenal. They are very fast, flexible, and treat my items with care. Each time they showed up, there was a team leader and two helpers. The team leaders were absolute pros both times and they handled the most fragile or difficult to pack items. I have worked with both Joseph and Alfredo -- they were both positive, friendly, and extremely capable. The helpers are not normally as experienced as the leaders, but you can tell that they have had thorough training and that they aren't just random guys hired to throw things around. One thing that stood out to me was their handling of my TV. I've never had to move a TV before so this was new to me, but for each move, they built a custom box on the spot and moved my very fragile-looking ultra-thin TV with zero damage. On top of that, I also really liked their fee transparency. Before you move, they send an estimate showing a breakdown of how much the service will cost. The first time I moved, the estimate was very accurate -- only going over because of fees for boxes, tape, packing paper, etc which were all reasonably priced. The second time, the estimate would have been accurate, but I was disorganized so it ended up taking longer than they expected which increased the price. Nothing ever broke or was damaged during one of my moves, so I can't comment on what the process is like when that happens, but my impression was that these are people of high integrity and that they will make it right. Gerald and his team turned what could have been a nightmare into an amazingly easy and enjoyable experience. We had made our major move out of town and were returning to finalize and take all of the remaining items that we had left behind. At the last minute, my husband suffered and injury and could not travel or help me with the move. We contacted moving companies when we realized the situation. I was anxious about the move because I was doing it alone and it was complicated. Gerald and his team made a complicated move very easy. Gerald and his team arrived on time and ready to work. Gerald immediately assessed the situation and very quickly had a plan. Gerald and his team worked quickly and they were very careful with my furniture and precious items. They were so easy to work with. I enjoyed my time with them and I was so impressed with their professionalism and expertise. Gerald must have been born to do this profession because he is so good at it. It was no problem dropping my items off and Gerald did an amazing job setting up the storage so that it was so organized and easy to access. Alfredo and Julio made this my easiest move in the last ten years! Fairly priced, my items were packed/unloaded carefully, they were expedient, and overall I felt very confident in the whole process. I moved from San Francisco to Fremont in just 6 billable hours (including truck rental, driving time, and packing/unloading/labor). I booked the slot Sunday evening and they arrived Monday morning at 10:45am ready to go (earlier than expected which was great, since they finished another job so quickly in the early AM). I hadn't finished packing so they brought a ton of extra boxes, furniture passing, and power tools to help me out. It's 3:45pm and I'm set up in my new room, which is kind of unbelievable. We were remodeling and in preparation for the job, we needed to move out of our family room, living room, dining room, and master bedroom. We rented a pod and had Mountain Moves fill it with our furniture. Joseph gave us a bid and the move went according to plan. He and 2 of his employees came and wrapped our furniture and handled it with care. They packed the pod strategically and used every inch! When the remodel is done in 2-3 months, they will come back and unpack for us. My husband & I appreciate the care Joseph and his team took with our belongings. Mountain Moves really does provide five star service. I was on a last minute time crunch when someone recommended the company to help me move. Within an hour they were there at my door and completely ready. They had all the supplies they need to get the job done. I recently saw their picture that was posted. The picture show furniture well wrapped to avoid damage. Well, that is exactly what they did when they moved my furniture. All my items were well wrapped and placed on the truck carefully. They even went the extra mile to ensure my television was wrapped well and the screen was protected. I really appreciated their help. read more

I give them more then 5 stars , they were able to accommodate me to move my stuff last minute. They responde really Fast which Was wonderful. They have great communication. Movers which was Alfredo and Cesar were so friendly and professional, they help me pack and carry out everything. I had more then one stop and they make everything really easy. They also help me to organize all my stuff which was amazing. I totally recommend it them if you looking for movers they go beyond to help you move. Mountain movers were fantastic and saved the day. We had to move my son from his apartment and they showed up on time with everything we needed to move his furniture and all the boxes we packed. TheY even broke down the bed and other furniture that we would not have been able to move ourselves. They even put down protective pads for the carpet and the doors!!! They packed the U-Haul like true professionals!!! (It wAs amazing how quickly and efficiently they packed the U-Haul) I would use them again and HIGHLY recommended Mountian Movers!! read more

I couldn't have asked for a better moving experience. Even with a very difficult move into a three-story building, the crew was outstanding. They stayed positive, worked incredibly hard, and remained professional the entire time. They arrived right on time and moved everything quickly and efficiently. Do your self a favor , and don't contact them via email or a call. from the min you submit your info on them site, asking for estimate, they will load you with emails, calls, bagging you to hire them. after a week of all those emails, I informed them , I will Yelp them if they don't stop, and they didn't stop. so yes, stay away from them. unless you want to be bothered just for the company know , my email start with a.jo , so maybe now you'll remove me from your crazy list !!! read more

I can't say enough about the crew that came and moved me this week. Prompt, courteous, friendly and worked non-stop to keep within the time frame they suggested the move would talk. Each piece was carefully disassembled and assembled without a hitch and wrapped the delicate items. They went above and beyond at the new location helping my boyfriend and I move old furniture out and moving items up to a loft area. These guys were excellent movers. Alfredo and his crew were outstanding. They were very careful with our items and did a great job at protecting items that hadn't been packed yet. The job was estimated to take about 8 hours but instead was more like 14 hours. They did not quit until the job was fully complete. I highly recommend Mountain Moves and Alfredo and his crew! Mountain movers are very professional and good prices. I will use them always. I had a deadline to vacate my premises or I would have to pay for another months rent at 3600. So gerald and his crew got me out on time. I called other companys but gerald gave me good estimate so I went with him on two moves so far. I will use him on my final journey where ever that may be. I've used Mountain Moves three times now and they are great. Paying for movers is definitely a luxury and priced accordingly, but this company gives you incredible value in the form of service.
