What a pleasant surprise. Mountain Munchies, all American comfort food. Great service and very good food. What this little eatery lacks in fancy, it more than makes up for in great eats. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, with breakfast served all day. They made me a mean Arnold Palmer to go with a very tasty Salisbury Steak dinner that was just slightly too big to finish without some help. Not fancy, just fresh and delicious.

Decided to try this place out, and I was blown away. This sandwich is very flavorful, and the meats are juicy as well. The cashier was kind, he recommend me to use the white roll I got, IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! The vibes were nice, it seemed like a very chill spot, not too noisy and comfortable too. I would definitely come back, this sandwich is packed with tons of flavor and very filling too. I was only able to finish half of it lol. My total was about $17 and some change.

The Mountain Munchies sausage breakfast burrito is my routine go to for breakfast.

My wife ordered the Raven sandwich and I ordered my usual of a sausage breakfast burrito. That burrito never fails and it's by far the best I've ever had. But hold your horses, I just took a bite of my wife's Reuben sandwich and to say it was spectacular would be an understatement. It was incredible. We are frequent customers of mountain munchies and this place never fails! The service is always excellent too! Thank you Eddie.

This place has HUGE Scooby-Doo like sandwiches that are absolutely DELISH, with fast and friendly service. The restaurant is small but cozy, decorated with art that gives it a rustic vibe. The playlist was fire (Arctic Monkeys & Morrissey, yes please). They have clean single-stall restrooms for both men and women, with a changing table for baby in the women's restroom. Breakfast is served all day, and they offer Pepsi products, coffee, tea, and juice. :)

We tried this place when we arrived at Big Bear, it looked very promising. It was a Friday night and it was empty, the dining area was empty, is seemed like people were ordering to go instead. The girl in the front was very welcoming and nice when she took our order. As for the food, I did not like the sandwich, I ordered the Lumberjack and they gave me some other sandwich. It had 3 different meats, way too much meat for my liking. I took out all I didn't want and tried to eat half. It was very bland, no flavor. Jersey Mikes is right across and theirs has more flavor. Like I said, I had high expectations.. My son liked his sandwich tho. I did like the onion rings and the mozzarella sticks. The curly fries needed seasoning. French toast was 10/10 according to my brother.

    Skiers delight with a view.

Mountain Munchies is a long-standing restaurant in Big Bear Lake, known for its hearty breakfast, lunch, and dinner comfort food, including large sandwiches, burgers, and classic diner fare, available for dine-in or takeout. It offers a casual, rustic atmosphere with indoor and patio seating, and is a popular spot for both locals and tourists looking for substantial, all-American meals after activities like hiking or skiing.

This is a small little sandwich place and it does get very busy. Food was okay at least for me. I ordered french toast with strawberries and well it had a little too much egg taste. My strawberries tasted like they were sliced with same knife as they chopped onions or something. Didn't enjoy my breakfast. My parents and kids definitely enjoyed theirs. Plus, the service was great, young lady seemed to be alone when we got there because she was working the cashier, cleaning tables and also as the server. Reason why I am not giving anything lower than a 4 star. More employees started arriving as it was really getting busy, they already had a line outside of ppl trying to go in. Recommended for their sandwiches, steak, omelettes but just not their french toast.

The breakfast here is really good. Ordered the traditional breakfast and biscuits and gravy - very tasty. There are about twelve booths and the staff do a great job getting folks seated, but there can be a line. They also serve lunch and dinner, with a great variety of vintage sodas. Shares parking lot in the Stater Bros. shopping center.

From, the online pictures are really expected this to be a bigger restaurant. It is on the smaller side but definitely worth a visit. The food was really great and it was at a fair price. The service was really great. Our waitress kept checking in on us to make sure everything was good because we did have a little bit of a large party and seemed really sweet. If you're in big Bear for a visit and want a good meal at a good price, check them out.

However I ordered their back country burrito and it was average at best. Heavy on the egg and pico. There was hardly any bacon in it. And they didn't have hot sauce. You know how sometimes coffee shops advertise a drink that's supposed to taste like something but really just tastes like a regular latte? That's not the case here. Their flavored coffee actually tastes like what they say it will! The line was all the way out the door when we went, so if you're in a rush this might not be the place unless you order ahead, which you can do. There's plenty of seating both upstairs, downstairs, and outside, and the place had a fun rustic vibe to it.

Then, while waiting for the check, I made the mistake of reading the one-star reviews. Now I *had* to leave one. Yes, the food isn't served at lightning speed. Ours wasn't either. And you know what? It was worth every minute. This is a small, family-run restaurant--not a corporate chain with an army of cooks hidden behind swinging kitchen doors. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, tasted homemade, and arrived hot and fresh. The staff was warm, welcoming, and working incredibly hard. As a bonus, they're genuinely dog-friendly. We were able to enjoy breakfast with our pup on the patio, and they even have a dog menu. That's not just "dogs allowed"--that's a business that goes the extra mile. Somewhere along the way we've confused "not instant" with "bad service." We expect fresh, made-to-order food from small businesses to appear with fast-food timing, then punish them when it doesn't. Patience has become a lost art. If you're in a hurry, there are plenty of drive-thrus. If you want an outstanding breakfast, friendly people, a place that welcomes your dog as warmly as it welcomes you, and food that's worth waiting for, Broadway Cafe is absolutely deserving of its reputation. We'll happily be back.

Perhaps unorganized in the kitchen or slow in production. This isn't merely just waiting but the fact that your own staff told us different wait times. We did wait. We waited according to your instructions and schedule. We were told many different wait times every time we followed up and asked. The time kept getting longer and longer when there were no other parties waiting but us. First we were told 30mins, then literally minutes later it changed. Then an additional 20mins added. Then, 30. Then we waited, and it changed again. They kept telling us it would be longer and longer. Why would the time go backwards? A small gilled cheese sandwich for an hour? One order. You can ask any business owner or any place outside of your small town that it is a ridiculous wait time for a customer to wait for that long for one small sandwich. Instead of arguing back with your customers, a decent thing to do would have been to apologize and just have accommodated the sandwich just for having us almost an hour of waiting without even getting in. A true business owner wouldn't have responded in how you did. Not only horrible service, but bad ownership practices so I see where it reflects poorly.

Patty greeted us when we came in the door and said we could sit wherever we wanted. She was lovely, very attentive and helpful. Her sister owns the place. She even gave us scads of recommendations for other local places to try and things to do. My husband ordered the chicken parmesan with a side house salad while I got the scallop fettuccine dish and splurged the $3 extra to get their Caesar salad (totally worth it, made in house). Everything is made to order and each dinner came with a board of homemade bread and house made butter for the table. Folks. That bread. Was So Good. Soft and tasty and the parmesan, garlic, parsley butter melted right on it. There was something that didn't hit my palate right on my dish, so Patty offered to get me something else. I decided against that (because the scallops themselves were stellar) but I agreed to some extra Alfredo sauce to mellow out the flavors in the pasta, which worked great! When she learned it was our anniversary, Patty gave us a slice of cheesecake on the house the likes of which I have never tasted before. I don't order cheesecake often, but this was beautifully creamy and sweet. If you want to support local businesses, I highly recommend Jakobe's. They're good people who cook great food and care about their community. SUPPORT LOCAL! DON'T LET THE CHAINS WIN!

You're fine, its also for patrons of the Cookshak. Next follow along around the side of the lodge into the backyard area and you'll come across a concrete patio w benches and tables. Order from the window and take your food to eat out on the back patio. The menu is different from what you can find on these Yelp menu photos so expect the prices to be a lot higher than two years ago, but prices are way higher everywhere from two years ago. I ordered a one item plate w two sides thinking I might not have ordered enough food but boy was I wrong. The sides portions are huge, the cornbread is huge, and the meat filled me up. The beans here are a spicy chili bean type that went great on top of the corn bread. The slaw was very good and the mac n cheese was reminiscent of kraft mac n cheese only w/ the addition of pepper and a sharper cheese flavor giving it a memorable taste. The potato salad was decent, potatoes prolly coulda been cooked a tiny bit longer but the rest of the salad tasted good. The star of the show was the brisket. You will get a slice or two near the end that might be cooked thru a little too much for my liking but the majority of what you get is melt in your mouth deliciousness. The honey mustard sauce they offer is perfect to dip the well done slices in but the juicy slices go great unassisted. I originally picked this spot because the other popular bbq spot nearby didn't open until 3 but I am glad I picked this spot because the food left me satisfied for the rest of the day and left me w a smile on my face afterwards.
