This place was awesome! We were in the Bishop area camping and decided that this place looked promising from the online takeout menu. Soooo glad we gave it a try! We ordered some burgers and a growler Togo and it made for a 5 star camping meal! Place is really cool! Super chill little spot with some great tasting IPAs. Majority of their beers are IPAs but they have a porter and stout and two ales. Price is good too. I. love. this. place. I can't begin to explain how much I enjoy the Mountain Rambler Brewery. Aside from their extremely personable staff and warm ambiance (iconic mountain views on the porch and through their large front windows), their food is also incredible. Even if you aren't a beer drinker, this is a killer spot to pop in for some grub. So far I've tried.... Brussel Sprouts- do yourself a damn favor and try these!! They are delectable. I would eat these every day if I could. They are lightly fried and tossed in a lemon and tahini sauce. If you are a Brussel sprout fan...Do not pass these up! Sweet Potato Fries- Delicious. A great side dish for any sandwich! OR you could get the basket and "split" with someone (my go to move). Make sure you get all the homemade sauces (aioli, mustard, and ketchup) for dipping. Thai Meatball Sub- You guys... if you aren't sure what to get, give this a shot!! The description DOES NOT do it justice. The peanut sauce and the pickled watermelon, jalapeno slaw are making me salivate just thinking about it. I have ordered this that last two times I was here. Mediterranean Chicken Sandwich- MMMM yessss. The chicken is perfectly cooked and mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes are a perfect combo. Bratwurst- Also delicious! I'd recommend getting a side dish if you're starving. But, the homemade sauerkraut is killer and the sprinkle of fennel on top is a great touch! Squash Empanada- Melt in your mouth goodness! You could easily get this and a side for a full lunch. It is filling and the flavors are wonderfully complimentary. Finally... The Grilled Fish Tacos (dinner only)- this is the only dish i'm "meh" about. It was good, but not great like all of the other dishes I've tried. I think it was just bit on the dry side? Honestly, I would order these again and incorporate some of that bomb peanut sauce to spice things up. Ok, that is the end of my rambling Rambler post (hah, sorry I had to...). Spent the weekend in Bishop and decided on the brewery for a late lunch after hiking to some hot springs. The burgers were to die for! Fresh, locally raised, so juicy! I'm not much of a beer drinker and was super happy with the suggestion given from the hostess. Great outdoor seating area! The people there were so friendly. Casual, humble brew pub in a minimall. The food is pretty good (especially for Bishop, but very decent in its own right). The crowd is outdoorsy locals or weekend warriors or hippy types, all mingling, with a few random tourists. It's cute, and your best chance at getting a nobber or a ladyboner or whatever you're looking for. You may end up sitting on the makeshift, unoccupied stage to eat and the owner-type (my memory is foggy right now but I think he was the owner) will try to say hi. Good: Healthy tasty food, prices on menus, beers posted visibly. Bad: Horrible service, tables and seats loaded with crumbs, sticky menus. Gross! Hopefully the dirty tables aren't a sign of the cleanliness of the kitchen. It would have been nice to try some beers and food but there is no service. One bartender who doesn't say anything or make eye contact. Very poor communication with your guests. We were not acknowledged at all. And neither was the other 4 parties we saw come in while we were there. Turns out you have to wait in line to order first. There is no service. Dumb us, we actually sat at a table first. No one told us that and saw no signs that said to line up in front of the cash register, like cows filing into a feeder. read more

Beer was decent, have had better IPA. Husband had me taste the bitter beer, to be fair I am not a fan of bitter beer, but this one was horrid ! I had the caramelized onion and feta flat bread and it was good, husband had the regular hamburger and it was good, kids hated the kids pizza (all 3 kids) the sauce is sweeter than most pizza. Now the rest of our group are not big beer drinkers and don't seem to like new food experiences and they said they would never go back. Super bummed. Stopped in here serval times in the last year. Today I saw a major change for this place. I usually enjoy this place. Today the service was simply deplorable. The female behind the cash register who took my order had zero idea what the term customer service means. 30+ min to get a burger and fries . Sadly I went to check on my order and every person had been served that was in line behind me. I really love the food and beer here . Unfortunately the service left more than a lot to be desired. My 7 year old had to ask twice for the water to get refilled. It was 94 outside. Bottom line the customer service today was a major stain on this business. To the owners I suggest thinning your herd. This woman made your establishment look unworthy of any future visit from myself or the group I was with this trip. Bummed this won't be our stop anymore. read more

SUPER DISAPPOINTING. I will start by saying this kind of place just isn't our cup of tea. We wanted a burger and beer but this place is more of a trendy burger place. The burgers are served on ciabbata rolls and the sauce accompanying the burger was a marinara style that in my opinion didn't go with the burger. Food took about 30-40 minutes to receive (and the place was only about half full). Both burgers were cooked wrong - they were INCREDIBLY overdone and bland. The fries were great and the blonde beer they serve was good. Personally I thought the art on the wall didn't go with the space. I'm sure it's a great place for some, it's just not a typical burger n beer joint. read more

Excellent selection of on-the-spot brewed beer if you like beer. If you drink neer beer they only have O'Douls, but offer soda, wine and water. They need to start packaging their beer...give Sierra Nevada and Indian Wells some competition. Not a beer drinker or meat eater but there are plenty of tasty vegetarian options on the menu. The venue is pretty loud with mostly uncomfortable picnic table seating. If the seats were more comfortable, people would never leave. read more

Holy mole, this place is awesome. We were on a sweet roadtrip to the Eastern Sierras, and were actually en route to Death Valley, when we stopped here for a bite. It was so good we ended up derailed from our original mission. Yeah, I'm not kidding. A perfect 80 degree spring day led us to this awesome brewery, where we were immediately greeted by very polite staff - two women - who made sure we had the time to deliberate over their menu. My honey ordered the burger, and I got the Thai meatball sub. Oh yeah, and he also got an order of fries, which I'll describe in a minute, because they deserve their own paragraph. Two IPAs later, and we were sitting in the sunshine on the patio, loving the day. Everything is cooked to order. We took a number and sipped on our beers while waiting for food. The beer is *outstanding* - I was very impressed by the IPA. It wasn't overly hoppy, and had a nice floral note to it. At 7.5% it also packed a punch. I got two. The burger was outstanding. Perfectly cooked, came with the right garnishes. Thai meatball sub was superb - very interesting combo of flavors. I loved the cabbage/cilantro topping, and 10/10 would order again. The fries, however, must be made of potatoes and crack. They were hands down some of the best I've ever had. I actually *don't* eat fries because I try not to over-carb it, but I believe my words contained a happy expletive when I bit into one. Crispy on the outside and perfectly fluffy in the middle, they also had an herb to them (tarragon?) that really excited my taste buds. The home-made ketchup was also incredible, seems like it had tumeric added, and we both devoured the entire little cup. After a few beers, we decided to take a nap in our car, and instead of driving forever, ended up turning back north to hang at a hot spring. See what you did there, Mountain Rambler? Mission aborted, but you encouraged us to just relax and go with the flow. We can't wait to return on another excursion to the East Side. read more
