Not quite sure what the difference between the breakfast and lunch burritos are for the former though. The tri-tip burrito actually had chunks of tri-tips in it but unfortunately on the drier side. The carne asada was tender but definitely more Mexican food than BBQ. Generous portion though! Service: 5/5 - quick service and to the point. Ambiance: 4/5 - outdoor seating so expect outdoor things to be around. There are some plugs in the sheltered seating area if you need to charge. Value for price: 3/5 - cash only. Rolled through Big Pine hungry on my way to Bishop and stumbled on this tiny Mexican & BBQ spot. First warning: parking is a little limited and it's cash only -- so leave the credit cards in the glove box and bring some bills. I didn't try the BBQ (my stomach was on a breakfast-only mission), but the breakfast burrito? Absolute legend. Big enough to double as a free weight, and stuffed so generously I wondered if they were trying to feed me for the whole day. Flavor? Spot on. The kind of burrito that makes you question why you ever settled for a drive-thru version. The kind on burrito your mom makes. I was told about this place a few days before I traveled this direction and I was not disappointed, but Breakfast Buritto was stellar. The owner was terrific and the all-around exterior atmosphere was awesome. I will definitely stop here again and try something different but as for now that's my Breakfast Buritto go to on Highway 395. read more

Just stopped here down from Mammoth. A cute family owned food spot. When we got there it was an older lady taking our order and making our food. Huge delicious breakfast burritos ! I got the machaca burrito- I would order again, not dry. Partner got the 3 meat burrito- he said it was good. Chile relleno burrito was another option we were interested in. As we got our food, a bunch of other people arrived. I was nervous for the worker because she was a one-woman show. But she was working diligently . I over heard someone say she hadnt came to take their order. I spoke up and said she was alone and they had to be patient because the burritos were really good & worth the wait. Came here because Coppers had a LOOOOONG line. I got the chirozo, egg and potato breakfast burrito and my husband got the tritip breakfast burrito. Nothing fancy, just what you would want breakfast burritos to taste like in my opinion. We both enjoyed it very much!! Service was quick and they also have bathrooms and shaded outdoor seating. They do only take cash or Zelle though. And chango, the chihuahua, did not disappoint! He was on the clock out back providing security :P. Hugo's is a BBQ + Mexican spot that opened in the old Copper Top BBQ location. I didn't try their Mexican food, though the owner spoke well of it -- I'd gone expecting BBQ (not realizing that Copper top had closed down to move), so BBQ was what I had. Looking around at the other people eating outside and socially distanced, it seemed that most of the other folks there that day were doing the same. I got to try one pulled pork sandwich with slaw on the side and one tri tip sandwich with potato salad and beans on the side. All the sandwiches were good, though sliiiiightly lower on the meat ratio than I would have liked. Still filling, but at $10 a pop, I'd have appreciated a touch more. The cole slaw was quite good -- purple cabbage made it excellent. The potato salad was just fine, but not special, and the beans were straight up meh -- way too much ketchup to them. Having killer sides would bump this up to 5 stars; still, I'd go back. 4 stars. The service was friendly and quick, and the food was good. read more

I'm big on reviews so I gave it a go, we were hungry after a big run and Hugo's had a lot of positive comments. We stopped and honestly the food was not great, but we ate it because there was nothing else around. To top it off the service was not the best, cashier was rude and had no patience, even when asked what he recommended he nodded his head. About to pay he states cash only, maybe they should put that on the yelp/website. Luckily I had cash in the car. Overall wouldn't recommend drive up the 15 mins to Bishop for something worth it. read more

We stopped and ordered two breakfast burritos Machaca & Chorizo con papas and both were delicious and tasted exactly how they should nothing fancy not trying to throw a spin on them just both were authentic and delicious just they way they should taste (if you know you know ). Bland breakfast burritos and boring salsa. If you're a Mexican restaurant and can't even make good salsas then that's just sad. We got some watered down pico de gallo for our burritos and the burritos just lacked any flavor at all. For $15 a piece you should take more pride in the food you're making for your customers. This place says they are a bbq place but they're phonies just using the location of a previous restaurant which was bbq spot. Hands down best breakfast burritos in town, we both got the multi meat burrito - bacon, ham, sausage, eggs, potatoes, and cheese. I asked for my burrito in a bowl (no Tortilla because of food allergies) and they were more than happy to oblige. Food came fast, was incredible fresh, juicy, and very flavorful. Both salsas are great, red was my favorite though! There's plenty of seating, both in the shade and sun for wherever your preference is. Family style bathrooms that are kept very clean. Met their "guard dog", a little chunky but what do you expect when he sticks by the back door to the kitchen. Also met the gentleman who works at Shell, he must be a friends of the owners since he had full access to the buildings. Stopped in at Hugos again on this trip to the Sierras for the same reason as last year! We'd past a lot of closed eateries and several permanently shuttered food places in Lone Pine, Independence, and Big Pine, and we were hungry. At first I was disappointed, as the order taker at Hugo's told me that Hugo's BBQ was completely out of BBQ. What? Still being hungry and working on getting hangry, I went for the chili verde burrito and my guest went for a breakfast burrito. Both burritos were huge and very good. The pork was juicy and perfectly seasoned. And the sauce on the side....it was simply AMAZING. The sauce is a thin sauce with junky vegetables swimming about. While the burrito was very good, putting on the sauce made it all AMAZING! I'm planning to eat the other half of the burrito for dinner. My guest reported that the breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs, potatoes, cheese, and more was outstanding too.
