They were professional while still being relatable. They were easy-going with conversation and it really helped my nerves when I felt anxious. I've never had movers before and reading through everyone's review from yelp and other moving companies I didn't have high standards. But they far succeeded what I expected. I had a lot of help for my family members and they had no issues with them helping and they honestly integrated within my own family really well. Logistic wise, I'm a very type a personality and timed everything. They called me when they said they were leaving the warehouse and said it was about 30 minutes away. They did arrive right at 30 minutes. It took 1 hour and 38 minutes to load all of my furniture and boxes that I wanted moving. It was a 11 minute trip to my new home. And about an hour to unload and for them to get back. Overall it was right under a 4 hour move. They did take the saran wrap off everything before they left and assembled what little that was disassembled. You make a $100 down payment and the total cost was roughly less than $700 with a tip. If it wasn't for the excellent customer service - I would think this was a little pricey compared to what I was quoted from other services. The reason I went with them was - they were the only ones available for the time and day I needed. I had called 6 places before I landed here. Two hours from start to finish. They (two men) moved all my stuff from a bedroom to my new studio apartment in under the three hour minimum--but that's okay. With the truck rental it was $437 total. These guys--the do not milk the clock. They move with speed, putting everything in these huge 60" x 24" boxes, except for the furniture. EVERYTHING gets wrapped like a palette 360 degrees around. I just stayed out of their way, and within one hour they had everything loaded up. They brought a 24' truck, which was bigger than I expected. The drive was 30 minutes to my new place and unloading took about 45 minutes. They had me sign a standard moving contract, and I absolutely appreciate the 10% military discount, and another 3% for paying cash. FANTASTIC, could not say one thing bad. I planned the move around their original estimate and was blindsided by the inflated charge. On top of that, the lead mover pressured me for a tip in a way that felt super-aggressive and genuinely menacing. (That was a first, never had that happen before.) There was also minor damage, and the company agreed in writing to reimburse $200 for the repair but never paid, despite multiple follow‑ups. Communication from the office became slow, contradictory, and evasive, with shifting explanations whenever I pointed out their own written terms. Then they just went dark. Between the inflated charges, the unfulfilled reimbursement, the evasive communication, and the uncomfortable behavior from the lead mover, the experience deteriorated quickly. If you want to avoid this kind of experience, do NOT work with Kangaroo Movers.
