Hire these guys...even if they quote a little higher than the others. I needed to move (just a short distance) on a pretty tight timeline when I purchased a condo in my Oakland neighborhood. Luis was accommodating and easy to communicate with, via text (huge plus for a busy professional.) The crew arrived on time and refused to take a break until the job was done. I needed them to do most of my packing, as well as disassemble and reassemble all my furniture and possessions. They even fixed a few things that were hanging around from my last move! The crew was hardworking and polite and made the drudgery kind of fun. Everything was unloaded delivered in perfect condition, and they managed not to ding up any of my new walls or molding -- I was most grateful for that. We were moving to a slightly larger unit in the same building and thought we could totally manage moving everything other than the heavy furniture since we have an elevator in the building. While we could have managed, the crew from Moving Forward really showed what a difference it makes when you hire a professional. From the initial phone call they demonstrated that they really know what they're doing. They asked all the important questions and even knew that the building requires a COI in order for them to work here without us having to ask about it. They arrived on time and moved all of the furniture in less than an hour and then generously volunteered to move all of the dishes, pots, and pans, etc. in our kitchen that we had not even packed yet and were not expecting them to move. Payment was really easy and was able to be completed online. It was absolutely worth the cost to have them move everything so quickly and efficiently. The service was absolutely perfect. They came right on time, and truly made everything professional, smooth, painless, and 100% reliable. They wrapped my furniture with blankets very carefully, while being very efficient. Luis and his crew were fantastic. We had to vacate our house for renovation, moving to a smaller apartment, so there was a mix of things going to the apartment vs to storage. Everything got to its proper destination. All of the furniture was carefully wrapped, the entire kitchen was packed for us, beds were disassembled and reassembled at destination. They even moved a sofa sleeper into the garage by hauling it over the fence first. Our moving project was a long haul -- almost 11 hours (with packing, the trip to the apartment, and then to storage) -- but Luis and his team never broke with their friendly can-do attitudes. Normal people would get cranky and slow down with fatigue, but they got the job done with smiles. When we move back in after renovation we will only use them. read more

Luis and his partner are professional and efficient. He said not to worry about a thing, their two man team arrived with packing tape and all. Moving Forward moved my room-mate into my apartment a few years ago, they were very patient and didn't complain about the stairs or my barking chihuahua. I want to thank Luis and Lee from the very bottom of my heart for making the move as smooth as possible. Luis and his team's very positive attitude, humor and resourcefulness have kept my spirit going during the move to my new place. Not only were my belongings unscathed from the move, he even fixed one of my cheap IKEA furniture on the spot before moving it to his truck. Mind you, I have this furniture for 10 years and I was never smart or diligent enough to fully fix it. Even duct tape couldn't do the job. This was the best moving experience I've had in over 4 years! What a great find. Luis provided excellent customer service from the start. Arrived on time, took great care of my belongings, provided wardrobe boxes free of charge, placed boxes where I wanted and even opened the boxes for me : ) You won't be sorry if you go with this company. They will not nickle and dime you for all the extras, like tape, matress bags, tv boxes, extra boxes, all of this was includefin the hourly rate which was reasonable. There was only one incident in which a drying rack(metal)was broken. Luis told me about it and asked me how much it cost and took it off my bill.
