Getting a quote was super easy, and I got a great detailed explanation of what to expect. Booking was equally as easy through an online booking/deposit form. The move itself was flawless. No scuffs, no scratches, no dents! They were professional, and did a great job carefully and efficiently wrapping all the furniture. They had a great understanding of where everything should go after just one explanation. At the new place, they had to park on a very steep hill, and they had the tools and exactly what they need to do so. They were able to move anything we threw at them. They even moved my upright piano at no extra cost! The last time I moved that piano it cost me $500 alone. The total move cost a little more than I estimated, but I got a great detailed explanation as to the cost breakdown so I feel good about it. For the number of unreasonably large and heavy furniture we have, they definitely deserve every penny. Total move took 4.5 hours for a 3 bedroom place. Would definitely recommend and use again in the future.

I contacted this company through Yelp, Tina the owner was super fast in responding, and we set on our date, arrival time, rate, and a cash only payment. I mentioned that we only had a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment, and that we were only moving across the street. The day of the move arrived, and the movers came 20 minutes earlier then planned, not a problem. Two movers, a huge truck and not a lick of English. Super hard to communicate from the get, but they started to move fast, which was great. I started to notice a pattern, one mover moved things outside of the apartment, while the other road down the elevator and loaded the truck. Seemed to be a good method, however the person loading the elevator was only taking a couple of items down, which is essentially wasting time. Turned my nose, and thought to myself, they're professionals they're doing their job. 4 hours pass, and they're still loading the truck with items from my, I repeat, 2 BEDROOM APARTMENT! In between the loading and unloading, I headed off to work while my husband stayed behind. Unloading begins and my husband calls me, the movers are only coming up twice/hour and only bringing up a couple of items at a time. Again, essentially wasting time. I text Tina (the owner) to have her call me to discuss what my husband was experiencing. She calls back, and I voice my concerns, and tells me that there are other residents moving in that's causing a hold up. I also voice to her that there are multiple elevators that her workers can use, and her response was that my husband should have told them that. Hard to communicate that to people who don't speak English. What could have been a 3 hours move ended up being a 7 HOUR MOVE. Keep in mind, my apartment was only 2 bedrooms, and literally moving across the street. From then on, things got pretty odd. Tina would NOT STOP texting and calling me, and started to get extremely defensive, screaming, then text me with an apology. It was the weirdest thing, and I even had to ask her to stop texting and calling me at one point because I was at work. She even threatened me, she said that if it's taking so long, she'd leave all of my belongings on the side walk, and then demanded a credit card payment. I re-iterated that our Yelp conversation was set on a cash payment only. I come home from work, tired from moving and working a full day to find what was left of our belongings on the side walk (picture attached). I asked the movers if they'd continue, they wouldn't respond (maybe they didn't understand me) but motioned a phone to their ear to call Tina. Exhausted at this point, I started moving our own items and paid them for only 4 hours of work in cash. It also dawned on me, Tina was asking for a credit card payment so she can leave all of our belongings outside so her movers can leave. How unprofessional, conniving, and crazy for a business to do such a thing. Moving in itself is a stressful job, and if you want to be "Burden Free" I highly suggest to go with a more reputable company. Tina is super unprofessional, border line harassing, and has an almost bi-polar attitude. Maybe the other high reviews got lucky, but we did not. Waiting on Tina's irate response...

On the form I indicated that stuff needs to be dropped at storage closing at 6pm and is more then 30 minutes away without traffic. At 3pm movers still didn't show up. I spent hours on the phone trying to get them to arrive but was told that the earliest they can be is at 4pm which doesn't leave enough time for trip to storage by closing time. Very unreliable service. I would never book afternoon appointment with them if I knew they let morning appointments take over time slots of afternoon appointments. Horrible service!

Niall and his team were awesome. Friendly, professional - took great care of our furniture. They kept checking in on us, asking us if we needed more boxes for last minute items we had not yet packed. They kept the mood light, which was much appreciated as moving days can be quite stressful. We were super impressed how they took care of our piano, large dressers and hutches. Everything was moved safely and efficiently. Big shout out to the team for figuring out how to get our very large dresser into the place when all apparent entry ways were not large enough. Cannot recommend them enough. Absolutely great value for the money. Not that we want to move anytime soon but would definitely hire them again in a heartbeat. The self discipline needed and the attention to detail and care for details needed to restore someone's prized luxury vehicle. Those same standards apply to working in or on someone's home. My previous reviews explain how I met Jake at Barker Tech. This is a new review with new perspective. It's been over two years since I paid Jake and shook his hand. In those two years Jake has reached out 3 times to check on my home and his work. It just seems to be how he is. In those two years I've reached out with some admittedly stupid questions and each time he's addressed my concerns without any snark or down talk that some techie guys use when speaking to plebes. I needed additional home tech stuff and naturally I reached out to Jake. His response was timely given his work load and he immediately offered elegant solutions to an inelegant problem. (Someone in my neighborhood is actively using my gravel yard as a dog pit stop and leaving me nasty surprises ). Jake offered some very clever options up to and including an outdoor speaker paired with my existing camera system (that he installed ) to politely ask the offending dog owner to remove their dog waste. Ultimately my wife vetoed the idea of me having the ability to leave audio messages for bad neighbors. But Jake's suggestion of an upgraded new camera with AI facial recognition and a wider field of view was perfect. Within a week Jake personally came back and upgraded the camera thus negating the one small blind spot the offender had been using. He kept his word. He sent me tutorials and worked with me not even being home to ensure that I was 100% satisfied with my upgraded surveillance view before leaving. Setting standards and holding yourself to them are key to excellence. Keeping your word and delivering what you promise are key to excellence. But. Excellence isn't derived from robot like adherence to guidelines. It's a combination of many intangible things. It's rare these days to encounter true excellence in almost any field. Jake at Barker Tech is an excellent example of excellence in action. Trustworthy. Reliable. Professional. Meticulous. Passionate. Informed and informative. Personable and Diligent. This company is downright CRIMINAL and you should avoid at all cost…read more Be warned, if you want your furniture and belongings treated like trash - to end up scratched, broken, and shattered - while being charged over 3x your original Do-Not-Exceed price, then go ahead and hire this company. If you value your time, money, and belongings, I advise you to look elsewhere. First, we were quoted $900 to move our 1 bedroom apt to a building literally across the street. Prior to move-out date, we had already made a dozen trips and cleared out much of the apartment. We sent them an excel list of everything remaining and signed a contract with a DO-NOT-EXCEED cost of $900. On moving day, the two-movers were late, and extremely slow. They ran out of plastic wrap early in the move, and instead of getting more, decided to throw all of our furniture in their truck unwrapped. After 8 hours of move, they asked me if I would authorize an additional person. I agreed. 11 hours later, and nearly every item of furniture that was moved being damaged, I received the invoice. $2,900. They charged us full overtime for ALL THREE of the movers after the 8 hour mark. This wasn't right, and was a very deliberate overtime-earning tactic, but whatever. And what about the damaged furniture? The movers asked me to take it up with their head, Ricardo, and I agreed. I still tipped the movers despite feeling extremely frustrated at the entire process. The next day, I received a notice on my debit card that the full amount had been charged to my card without authorization. I called Ricardo and did not pick up or respond to email. I contested the charge. Larro's moving submitted a FALSIFIED document where they handwrote a "2" in front of the original $900 to submit to the credit card company. You really can't make this up. As I paid with a debit card, my dispute was denied. Thumbtack, where we found this company, was not helpful as they are purely a marketplace. Lastly, my mistake for not doing this, but always take a photo of the agreement and DNE price (or receive a carbon copy), and never pay with a debit card.

There was also a known case of fraud involving former employees of this company I ended up getting involved in and later finding out it was known an there is an active police investigation underway.
