I was so impressed by Cesar and Jr! They arrived on time and very well prepared. I thought I was really organized with my furniture coverings and bubble wrap ready- but I ran low towards the end- not to worry- Cesar and Jr had wrap and tape on hand and made sure all my furniture (even the cheap Ikea stuff) was safely wrapped and covered for the move. I was concerned that we might not fit everything in the Uhaul truck- this was also not a problem for them. They expertly packed and secured the truck, with room to spare. When we tried to help them carry some boxes down, Cesar said it was not necessary, they have a system- Great news for me, since I could start cleaning the cleared out rooms. Also- 1 piece of furniture did not fit through the door- again-not a problem, they had all the tools to remove the door and put it back afterwards! They also took apart any furniture that needed to be taken apart. And you can not beat their price- I was quoted lower then any other moving company/movers in the area but received only the best service. I hired Cesar to help me move out of a 3-room shared living situation into a 1-bd apartment. He and his team were efficient, professional and FAST! I have some very heavy furniture (pre-IKEA) and they lifted and moved it like it was nothing. I have personally struggled to move this dresser inches. They brought furniture pads (no charge). Needless to say, I was very impressed by Cesar and his teams work ethic and effort. I paid $275 for 4 hours of work plus a BIG tip cuz these guys were better than I'd hoped for :) I hope not to move again for a LONG time, but if I do, I'll be re-hiring Cesar and his team. Super disappointed to have to write this review. After reading all the amazing reviews here I was exciting to have Cesar move my stuff. I contacted Cesar initially via a phone call about two weeks ahead of our move date. He texted me and we chatted. I told him when and where and he gave me a price quote. He said my time would work and he'd have two guys out there for his stated rate for two hours. Awesome.. He mentioned he was going to email me some details but never did. Come moving day, my wife and I got the big uhaul truck. The time for Cesar's guys to show up came and went. After about 20 minutes I called him up and he acted like he had never heard from me before. He said I wasn't on his schedule and they wouldn't be showing up. So there I was, stuck with a moving truck and a house load of furniture that had to be moved in the next three hours. I told him he had screwed us by not showing up and he said he could still come as soon as he finishes his current job. I sent him a couple of texts asking when he was going to actually show up and he didn't respond so sadly the wife and I started loading up the truck ourselves which was honestly no small task. Cesar did send me a text a long while after saying "if you still need me let me know", followed by "Im sorry we clock out already" about 10 minutes later. I was busy carrying a house load of furniture and missed my window I suppose. Bottom line. This moving company maybe amazing. I have no idea because they screwed me and my wife leaving us with a house full of stuff to move on our own. Cesar was pretty dismissive and blamed me for not responding to an email that I never got. This was the best move ever. We had trouble finding a truck and a delay in getting our keys, but Cesar and his team were professional and accommodating. They arrived right on time and did a great job wrapping and padding everything before it went in the truck. I have never seen anyone pack a truck so well! I have used this service twice in a two month period. Once to move our office from one building to another and secondly to take down, move, and rebuild a really big desk. I called them based on YELP reviews and was VERY satisfied with the service. In my first move, I called Cesar who set a next day appointment to come give me and estimate. During the estimate, Cesar discussed each item to be moved, and understood my desires around packaging. On the day of the move, they arrive exactly on time and ready to work (no standing around waiting for a colleague to arrive or getting ready while charging me). They had friendly but professional manners. They worked consistently, quickly, but cautiously. They packed all matter in the way I requested and still finished within the quoted time. I had the exact same experience during my second move. I was satisfied enough that I took the time out to write this review. There are only 2 reason reason that I gave the service 4-stars instead of 5-stars. The 1st is the two hour minimum. Apparently it was in something that was sent to me but I did not receive it. However, he was willing to give me a multiple user discount which took some of the sting out of it. The second is that one has to rent & drive your own truck. However, for me, those are small CONS compared to the PROS. All in all I will use them again and recommend them to my friends. read more

Caesar was great! We called about a week before our move from Oakland to Las Vegas for help loading the truck. We were moving out of a 3 level townhome which meant stairs for almost all of the furniture. Caesar and another employee arrived right on time at 9am and emptied our home into an admittedly too small moving truck. They were great! Got almost everything to fit in the truck, were careful with our things and were very efficient! They barely stopped to have some water! This is a review about trying to book, NOT about service. You can't talk to an actual person about your move. They only accept bookings by email. When I called I got an auto text directing me to a web site, which says, in bold, "You Can Book Me via email only." Maybe they're great once you book, but the experience of trying to get information about their services felt like a very bad sign to me. read more

Our moves were a little unusual - we were unloading 2 different moving pods on two different dates. So the pods were in place when the crew came. These guys are great! First off, it was easy to pay via their website (paypal) and got a multiple hour discount. The pre-moving day communication was great. On moving day, they showed up 15 min early and were ready to go. Although I had scheduled 2 guys for 5 hours (and thought I would need to pay for more hours given the difficult move-in location) they rocked out our 1 Bedroom move From Oaktown to Berkeley in 4h 15m. You do need to rent your own truck, as Labor Cesar just provides the labor, but they were great in wrapping and protecting our large pieces and fitting them securely in the truck. They took great care in our items and were super efficient. I hope I don't have to move again soon, but I would use Labor Cesar again without question. A+! read more

My mom died and I suddenly needed to move a lot of furniture and household items to a couple of different cities in northern California. I rented a couple of U-Haul trucks. I needed to find a "load-only" mover. I live in San Diego, so it was hard finding movers in the bay area. I emailed some highly rated Yelp movers and never got a reply back. I was starting to get worried and started searching Craigslist. I found Cesar. He responded in less than an hour after I emailed him. He showed up promptly on a Sunday as we arranged. He and his helper worked really hard for 5 hours in 90 degree heat. They were professional and knew exactly how to wrap and pack expensive furniture into the trucks so that nothing would be damaged in transit. I was extremely pleased with the job that Cesar did and plan to hire him again when the home sells and we do the final clean out. read more

This review is for the move on 10/9/2015. I'm writing this review because I was very disappointed with this move, and I wanted to let people know about my move that did not go so well. I contacted Cesar for a move from a storage unit in Oakland to an apartment in Oakland, for two movers. I initially wanted to use Commander because I was very satisfied with them in the past, as they were very professional and hard-working. However, they had no opening on the day I needed to move, so I researched through Yelp, and after reading the good reviews here, I contacted Cesar. Jr and Jose arrived promptly at 9:00am, as contracted. While they were moving my stuff, however, they dropped my bed foundation, and broke my bed frame. The nail of the bed frame was bent, and there were scratched on the frame. Although I heard, and I'm sure Jr also heard a loud wood cracking noise, Jr insisted he didn't break anything, and that the foundation just fell on the ground a little bit. Like this time, I was always with the movers to see if they were doing a good job, and during the move from The Grand, my apartment in Oakland to A-1 Storage few months ago using Commander Moving, they did not damage anything while they were moving my things. However, when I asked again, "you heard the crack, and the damage is fresh, as you can clearly see." Yet he kept denying it. When I asked Jr the last time before they left, whether he still denies that he damaged my bed frame, and that I would call his supervisor, he replied, "Yeah, he's my dad, call him" which sounded highly unprofessional. I understand that accidents can happen and things can break during a move. However, instead of trying to assess the situation and find a solution, when I pointed the broken bed frame, Jr responded right away with "No. It wasn't me, I didn't do that." There was no point in arguing as he didn't seem reasonable. And after calling Cesar and leaving him a message with what happened, he texted me back saying "I need to talk to Jr and Jose." Few hours later, this is the email I got from him: Hello Aiden, I Already had a meeting with Jr and Jose and they already explained all the details, and the conclusion is that they didn't damage " Box sprig" neither the " footboard". Whoever helped you before, is the one you need to contact. I know it's not a broken piece is just a bent bolt and a couple scratches. So i can not help you. Thank you very much. Cesar. Working hard and moving things fast is important. But another thing you should consider is how professionally the moving company would handle when things don't go perfectly, and sometimes, they don't always go perfectly as my situation shows. Even the best movers could cause an incident like this. It's about customer service afterwards that counts. I'm sure when things go smoothly and nothing happens during a move, Cesar's guys are a good hire. However, I wanted to let people know that when things don't, this is how they will react. I will soon file a formal complaint with FMCSA. Hope you avoid situations like mine go through a headache like this. read more

Like many of his other stellar Yelp reviews, Cesar and his crew (including his son, Jr.) did an awesome job. They knew exactly what they were doing. Fast, efficient and very accommodating (hung our closet clothes in the exact order that my wife wanted it in our new place...that's service!). Moving is stressful enough so having Cesar and his team do our move alleviated alot of that stress. I would DEFINITELY use them again in a heartbeat.
