I had high hopes based on reviews and the initial responsiveness of the owner, but hiring this crew resulted in the worst move experience my family has ever had (we've moved 3 times in 10 years). Super nice crew, but only one of them was competent and experienced. He seemed to be training the other two guys like it was their first day on the job in a new industry. One of the three guys had no idea how to unhook a washer/dryer. We ended up with a cracked dresser, dings on the drywall and ceiling, and metal bed frames that were bent. The crew had truck issues and didn't get started until 1p, which meant that by 8p, they were exhausted and didn't have time to build any of the furniture (even bed frames) they had taken apart. We had to do it all. Lori, the owner, is really skilled at customer de-escalation (probably because she has to do it constantly) and she said she'd be onsite (she never showed once) but ultimately doesn't run a quality operation. read more

I used this company twice within a 3-yr timespan. The first time was just for unloading a truck. Everything went fine. Only random thing was I hired 2 movers then a 3rd showed, but that worked out because I was not charged for the 3rd mover. Fast-forward a couple of years and thought I'd use them again to load a truck. Well, this was a mistake. I booked in advance a few weeks before the move date then I called the week of my move to confirm the move date, the move time and it was confirmed. When the day comes, I'm patiently waiting during my hour window and no one shows up. I receive a text, not a phone call, but a text at the end of that hour saying they were late. Then I waited another hour for them to finally show up. When the loading finally started, they were efficient and quick but maybe a little too quick because a few of my items were damaged. I'm not upset about the damaged items because those can be replaced but you can definitely call a customer to let them know if you're going to be late. read more

DO NOT USE THESE AMATEURS!!! If you want to make sure that your items are moved intact and not destroyed, go elsewhere. I had a 3 bedroom job for this company and spent hundreds of dollars on a moving truck myself days before so all they had to do was move the big items. When they showed up, they brought a small old moving truck with a busted-out front light with tape over it. I thought wow that is pretty unprofessional but what can you do at that point? I wish I would've sent them packing but I proceeded to allow them to move my items.  My move was only about 5 minutes away and it took them almost 10 hours at $2,500. They are incredibly slow which I would have been fine with.....if they hadn't of wrecked so many of my possessions.  During the move, they proceeded to fall on one of my dining room chairs, dent, and scratch the others ones, dent, and scratch 2 chests, dent one of my entertainment centers, destroy both of my son's computer tables and dent two end tables. They also damaged my kitchen table. All of my furniture was purchased at Haverty's so none of it was cheap. They even damaged my dryer and claimed that it was like that before. Except for the fact that they had never been moved and the dent had a puncture that no human could have caused themselves by bumping into it. I wish I could upload the pictures here because NO ONE would ever use this "company" in name only. I will be posting this same review on Google which allows pictures uploaded. Go there if you want to see the extent of the damage.  Included in that price was the "insurance" that I paid for. What a joke. They wanted to settle on $1,000 when they caused at least 4-5K in damage. I have read the other negative reviews and they tell the same story. Anyone that had a positive experience was just lucky. If I could rate this company MINUS stars, I would. The absolute WORST experience in my life of constant mobility. DO NOT USE THEM! I've warned you, 1. They didn't follow valid professional moving company procedures. 2. After a walk through, I was given a quote of $1000 which changed to an additional $750 and the job wasn't completed! 3. Moving Right Along, from the top, Lori Murchison, to the movers, behaved in the most unscrupulous, harassing, vindictive, unethical, and threatening way. Witnesses heard them. 4. They left belongings hidden OUTSIDE, in an obscure spot caught on CCTV. The manager of the storage space called me irate! I had to pay different movers $200 to correct MRA's wrongs. I was extremely ill outside but could hear them THROWING items and prohibiting me access to the unit. They deliberately ignored my requests for space to walk through. 5. Vulgar and demeaning language about me was used between a mover and Lori in their emails which were accidentally sent to me! 6. I am missing so many expensive items that I can't get into it now. A neighbor was worried for my safety. 7. They blocked access with heavy furniture and even used my purchased comforters, blankets, boxes, and packing materials as blockades. EVERYONE says that it is the WORST moving job that they have ever seen. Limited access into my unit has been traumatic, and this nightmare continues. I've become sicker from the toxins created by hazardous products which weren't to be moved by them and stored in the unit. They also threw my clothes in black garbage bags with outdoor planters of dirt, creating mold. I found beer cans and half eaten food sealed in boxes, with no idea they did this! 8.They didn't follow their contract agreements and provided no arrival and departure times, inventory follow up, they were always late, and the entire company ignored my claims for months of missing valuables and damages. 9. They tipped themselves $260 the FIRST day, WITHOUT my approval. Dillon screamed curses at me the last day when I refused to sign a form on his cell phone that the job was complete and satisfactory. 10. Brent, their 'customer service agent' said that they would even look at my claims until I paid the $750. I can't go into all the additional horrific details at this time. I have filed a complaint with the Texas DMV for very serious offenses. This isn't the first complaint against them. It has taken me MONTHS as a severely ill single woman to document my inventory. They refused my claims until I paid extra. They are keeping FOUR expensive pieces of art and a large screen television as 'hostage'. They claim that I owe them $750 MORE PLUS STORAGE FOR MY HOSTAGE ITEMS WHICH MAY BE SOLD BY NOW! Please heed my warning.It's absolutely unbelievable that a company would do this! Document everything! Report it to the DMV if you have suffered damages, insurance irregularities, sexual harassment, threatening behavior, or have a complaint! There is a 4 year window of recouping your losses! Don't let this happen to anyone else, they don't care and Lori was extremely rude and unprofessional. read more

I had a complicated move--3 stops, full truck, 3rd floor without elevators in 112 degree weather. Not only did all 3 gentleman pace themselves well, but their attitudes were GOLD. I hope I don't move again for awhile, but if and when I do, Moving Right Along will be my first call. The only positive thing I can say is they showed up early... they broke so many of my items in boxes, they dropped items off of the truck and broke my work desk, a very expensive cooler, my dishes, and something I received from my mother that has passed away and I can never get back! The mover gave my gate code to the storage to a random person that couldn't get into the storage unit so now I'm worried that my code will be used and I will be at fault if something happens to someone else's stuff and it comes back on me. I was looking for movers to move my roommate and I out of our two story rent house, and into an apartment across town, that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Moving Right Along was amazing! They got back to me in a timely manner and arrived right on time on the day of the move. Our movers, Scott and Corey were very friendly and personable! They helped take down our beds and put the beds and a dining table back up before leaving. I will definitely use this moving service in the future anytime I move. Please do not waste your time choosing this company. I had a move scheduled with them couple of days back and the overall service was horrible. CJ and one other guy literally took 3.5 hours to move a well organized studio Apt on 2nd floor to my new apt (2nd floor as well) which is less than a mile away. In total I had about 12 medium boxes, a queen bed, small couch and TV/TV stand, all nicely packed and ready to be moved. Movers were very inefficient and took their own sweet time to do the job. When the move was done, these guys demanded me a completely different price from the quote I was offered from owner Lori. The manager called in and he had no idea about the quote I had been offered and not ready to accept even though I had proof of quote. Not sure how everyone in this company are not on the same page. When we were trying to make them understand over phone, the movers were trying to haul our stuff back into the truck, making us feel threatened and uncomfortable. This is unprofessionalism at its core. I am not going to refer this company to any of the people I know. If you happen to see a nice move in deal from groupon from this company, be cautions because you are likely to get scammed and will end up paying a lot more than you were quoted. We scheduled a move at the beginning of October, 2021, with Moving Right Along. I intentionally wanted to post this review a few months later so I could remove all emotion from it and ensure we discovered all damages caused by the movers. We were EXTREMELY disappointed, to say the least. Everything seemed to go well during the move. My wife even supplied them with drinks and snacks. At the end of the move, my wife noticed that a glass mirror for the bottom of one of our end tables was missing. The movers "helped" us look for it in the back of the truck and I looked all over the house, never found it. I figured maybe it would turn up later and didn't want to hold the guys so I signed off, gave them both a tip since they worked hard, and sent them on their way. After a few days of not finding it and thinking more about the day, I realized they probably broke it and just lied to us. I contacted the company and provided my thoughts on what happened. They said they spoke to the movers and they admitted that they couldn't get a straight story out of them and they didn't want to snitch on each other. We were going to submit a claim, but after reading through their claim terms, it just didn't seem worth it. They write the claim terms in such a way, it makes it nearly impossible to get your damaged/lost items replaced or compensated for them. They don't cover furniture that's made of certain materials. They'll only cover damages that are brought to their attention while they are still there, which, after a 6 hour move, who's gonna have time to check every single item while the movers are waiting? If you have an issue with their terms, you have to report it to the state and talk with a mediator. If that doesn't work, you can begin legal proceedings. We determined that we would just eat it and provide this review instead. They write it as if they can do whatever they want and know you won't try to claim because it's too much of a process. They count on that. Over the last couple of months, we have come to discover a few more issues. 1. One day I got a notification that my son's phone was being used. I use family link to monitor his usage. I never could get a fix on the location so I wiped it and figured if I found it in my house, it wouldn't be a big deal. I never found it. My son lives in Houston and I do not. His phone always stays with me. I remember his phone being on the kitchen island while the movers were packing the truck so I came to the conclusion that they must've swiped it while I wasn't looking. 2. While putting furniture back together, I noticed they damaged both mine and my wife's desks, our bedroom furniture got scratched, our deep freezer has dents on top, and we just realized that the mirror that belongs to our dresser is missing. They must've broken that and covered it up as well. Again, just a very disappointing experience. We provided the movers with drinks, snacks, and even gave them a very generous tip. Now we feel like fools because they damaged, broke, and stole our stuff....and on top of that they try to cover up the damaged items and don't even tell us about other items they damaged. We chose this company because we figured a woman owned company is something good to support. We'll never use that as a determining factor again. Moving Right Along was a joy to work with! I have moved 31 times (all rentals) in the last 19 years. Yes, that is a lot of moving. This was my 31st move (and hopefully the last time I move for many years, as I bought a house!), and this was my first time hiring professional movers. I will NEVER go back to just asking friends in exchange for pizza and donuts. This was by far the easiest and least stressful move I've ever experienced. Lori coordinated the moving date/time/pricing with me, and was super friendly and great to work with. She sent me quotes for the work more quickly than any other moving company, and ultimately beat the price of the competitors. Corey (the foreman), was amazing. He was kind, caring, friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, and extremely careful with all of my belongings. He was working hard and coordinating boxes/appliances/furniture with his team, Chad and Alex, seamlessly. The whole team did a wonderful job, nothing was broken, and they wrapped every piece of furniture with moving blankets and straps. I was moved by moving rite along twice, the first time the movers were smoking meth and stole a check book and several other things ,I've known Lorie for a long time so decided to use her again, this time they were late by 2& half late, it didn't take long and all five moving men had my things,on the way the truck broke down I was discounted ,there was only two movers then I tipped them 60 and was glad it was over, now totally unpacked there are a few items I can't find 1was a full set of china very old the box was labeled fine china I'm really hurt I'll never use them again read more

The foreman of the three man team I needed kept the guys on task and on-time. I was impressed with his professionalism and the care he made sure the team made with my belongings. The load was efficient and fast. I had my boxes labeled and they placed them in the correct rooms on delivery. I was running out of time so only a few items were unassembled and that was my choice. I did the groupon deal for 3 hours and 3 men to help move. The group was punctual and arrived at 9 am. The gentlemen were very friendly and customer service oriented, 2 worked harder than the other. They went above and beyond in protection of my furniture, however CJ did not explain this in enough detail. I would not have chosen it, knowing more time would be added on. I would not use this company for any future moves we have. I had budgeted for a certain amount and went over by at least $600. I almost felt like the clock just ran and there was no urgency in each minute moving that I was paying for. I saw one of the guys drop things and mishandle our stuff as if it was no big deal. Unfortunately, I have to disagree with the other reviews posted here. I have had a very bitter experience with this company. I called the company to help with my move because I found a deal on groupon. However, the team arrived an hour late and they came with a truck that had its top box damaged. The top of the truck looked like a crushed Sardine tin can. This in turn translated to only having half the truck with usable space. The crew tried to jam pack all furniture into half the truck (usable space) and they ended up laying my office table in a weird angle. Long story short, they ended up doing 2 trips when it could have been completed in one trip had the truck been in good shape AND they ended up breaking my office table. I understand that mishaps happen when movers handle furniture and I am tolerant to mistakes. They were unable to fix the office table (1000$ value) and they said they will send a person from star furniture to take a look at it after. It turns out they did not know anyone from star furniture and they lied about it so they could get the money and leave. I later on asked them, how I could file a claim since they were insured. That is when I am informed that they can only pay me 60cents per LB weight of the item (in this case 150$ for a $1000 table that is 6 months old). They took off $100 from the final bill and I am at a loss of 900 dollars. I work from home and I use this table daily because of which I find this whole experience bitter. Its best you use this company if you have cheap furniture from dollar stores and ikea. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES IF YOU HAVE EXPENSIVE FURNITURE. I know I will not use this company again nor will I recommend this company to anyone else who really care about their furniture. read more

The hire: 3 man crew for 3 hour rate of $349 The job: Move a one bedroom apartment 1.1 miles. All boxes packed and ready to go. Both apartments were right NEXT to the freight elevators with reserved loading docks. Move day: To my surprise, the movers showed up with an extra man. I thought "great, this will be easy and quick with a 4 man crew!" Moving everything out of the first apartment went smoothly and we were ahead of schedule until we arrived at the new place. It was then I learned I was dealing with a bunch of stall artists. While there were issues with the elevator in the new building that probably caused a half hour delay, there is no way this move should've taken 4.5 hours. It was almost comical at the end when the foreman tried to milk more time by "training" his crew on how to put away the ramp in the back of the truck before clocking me out and settling the bill. The job ended up costing me $657!!! (not including tip) and the fees on the bill I received weren't itemized. I can only imagine what this would've cost if the apartment units were at the ends of the building or if stairs were involved. The only fee that was listed in the final receipt was the $45 trip charge: the old building was inside the 20 mile radius and the new building was just outside the threshold so keep that in mind when deciding to use this service. The positives: Lori was great at communicating and accommodating a change in move time. Additionally, the movers did not break anything and (besides the stall tactics) were a good group of guys. If you're looking for a simple apartment move in Austin, I am sure there are more affordable options out there that will stay true to the original quote. read more

They were so late I couldn't supervise the move and they ended dumping all the stuff in the dirty garage. i was left with broken furniture and missing items. The owner did nothing to correct the mistakes. Save yourself and use any other company. read more

We made arrangements for our move with Lori who was great to work with. Lori kept us informed and always made herself available for any questions we had. Lori made sure that we were comfortable with arrangements that were made. She then went beyond and accommodated our last minute needs. The two men Matthew and Rod did an excellent job wrapping then unwrapping furniture and discarding of materials when done. They did the loading and unloading in an efficient and timely manner. Overall, the movers did a good job moving from point A to point B. Not satisfied because they overcharged. The sales rep give us a quote, the price was good that was why we decided to use their service. After the move, the mover showed us the bill, we did not agree on the price so we told him to have the sales rep give us a call because what was quoted was different from what they are billing us. Instead, they charged to our credit card immediately, no one from their company call us. I also want to mention that during the move, the owner of the company called the mover. Not sure what was said but the mover told us the sales rep was new, he made a mistake, he should be countable for this, NOT us as a customer. We called the sales rep 2 days after the move; he said he will give us a call back after he reviews the paper work. It has been a week and I have not heard back from him. Future customer, please be aware that this company will charge you more than the quoted price. They make you put a deposit prior to the move; they have your credit card number and will over charge you at the end. They will ignore your phone call. THEY ALSO CHARGE $25 FOR CREDIT CARD PAYMENT. I am not one to normally write bad reviews however given my recent experience I felt it necessary to save anybody else the scam that I am currently dealing with. I hired this company 2 weeks in advance because they had a reasonable groupon deal. I don't have many things and just needed help moving my bed, couch, kitchen table, dresser and a bookshelf. I was scheduled to move between 1 and 3. Anthony called to tell me he was on his way at 12:45 by 2:30 they still were not there. The being stuck in Austin traffic is only believable for roughly a 45 minute delay. Finally at 3:30 he called and said there was another crew coming. At this point I'm pretty frustrated. A guy named CJ then calls me and is immediately complaining about the job and the rate I was offered and then demands I pay cash up front. He made me feel very uncomfortable and given all the issues I should have canceled then. The companies mishap is not my problem. The owner is unreachable and I honestly began to wonder if she even existed or if I was the victim of a scam. They finally show up at 6, 5 hours late! The unprofessionalism only grows from here. As the guys are moving my things there a making comments about how they thought I'd be "trippin". I could have been nasty in this situation given the circumstances and chose to be kind because I figured it was not their fault and they were there to help me. The move itself went ok. When it came time to settle payment CJ tried discrediting the deposit I already paid towards the final amount. I told him I was not paying the amount requested as it was way over what was agreed upon and would sort it with the owner tomorrow. Still offered to pay them tip. 30 more minutes go by as he is trying to get in touch with the owner. I nicely explain to him that the miscommunication needs to be sorted tomorrow. It was almost 9pm. I'm a nurse and I work nights and had been up since 10 am the morning before and needed to drive back down south to get my dog. CJ then flips out on me and tells me that they still have some of my things on the truck and they will be taking them. At this point I called the cops because I was scared. I don't know what kind of company this woman thinks she's running but I couldn't believe the level of unprofessionalism and disrespect. Since my move I discovered my TV is broken and my couch is ripped. APD is also aware of this situation. I wish there was a way to upload pictures of the damage and screen shots of the text messages I continued to receive from CJ after they drove of with my things. read more
