The guys didn't work as a team as previous movers I've experienced. One was carrying things down as the other did a poor wrapping job near the truck. I say poor because it was slow and my son's nice crib was damaged. I had to wait for wardrobe boxes as they brought ONE at a time instead of them bringing a few up at once. It had been 2 hours almost when they finally completed the one bedroom furnitures, grill, single door fridge, crib, and a few boxes. I had to complain to Bob and then movers picked up the pace. Bob was trying to make things better, I'll give him credit for that. However, when movers got to drop off, they mentioned that this was not a one bedroom apt as this was like almost 3. I shared with bob during reservation that it was like a 2 bedroom because the baby stuff, but most of the stuff was in a 10X5 storage, so it's my fault they didn't bring a large enough truck? When I told the last movers I had a 1 bedroom they brought more than enough room. Unfortunately, my last movers were unavailable when I needed to move. No respect for these movers.

So Yelp has this feature that I didn't know about which…read moreallows you to message moving companies through the app with a template that addresses the necessary information--for example, how many boxes we'd be moving, how many bedrooms the new place would have, and other specific information. Then, Yelp asks if I'd like to send this same information to other moving companies in the neighboring area. So I did! Then those messages are grouped in one thread in my inbox and it details the rate per hour for each company. After shopping around for prices, I decided to settle with Respect Movers for a few reasons: their competitive rate, the fantastic reviews, and the pictures. Did I add that the owner immediately messaged me back at any time I had a question? He was very enthusiastic, very friendly and extremely informative. Everything you can imagine, he had answered in his first message. I was amazed! So even though the beginning rate is $85/hour, we went ahead with the $145/hour rate (cash, and $155 with credit/debit) with 4 movers because we had a lot of stuff in our home. The four gentlemen movers were very, very polite and professional. Their names are Shawn, Dima, Roman and Azamat; I specifically asked for their names because I want to highlight in this review what great work they did. They were extremely careful with shrink-wrapping and packing all the items, very gentle with our fragile and heavy-duty items, and they made sure not to scuff or scratch any of them. They also wore masks for those wondering. We were impressed. They never asked for one break even after hours of working under the scorching sun so we forced them to take some iced drinks, and even then, they only took a few minutes and went straight to work. I want to really take the time for folks to know what a great option they have with Respect Movers. I wouldn't hesitate to work with them again! Thank you all.

Avoid this company at all costs! During my move, they broke my marble bar cart. I was told they had…read moreup to 14 days to resolve the issue, which I was fine with. However, after the 14 days passed, I had to follow up multiple times before finally being given two options: either replace the marble or accept a payout of only one-third of the item's value. I chose to have the marble replaced. Weeks later, when they came to deliver it, it wasn't marble at all--it was porcelain FLOOR TILE with a marble print and unfinished sides (see photo). Despite all of our communication being in writing via text--where they repeatedly confirmed "marble"--they then blatantly told me marble was too expensive and they won't do anything more. They had "fulfilled their legal obligation" by giving me floor tiles instead of marble. So in the end, it was a "gotcha" because I chose the option to replace and I got what I got even though it was wrong This was dishonest, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. I would hate for this to happen to someone else!

It was a pleasure communicating with the company leading up to the move, and on moving day Ali and Ross texted me in the morning letting me know they were on their way and gave me an ETA of when they would arrive (exactly on time), which I really appreciated. When they arrived they took a quick inventory and went straight to work, wrapping items with care, and efficiently loading up the truck. Nothing was damaged, no walls or floors were scratched, and they managed to get the fridge up the stairs and into its new spot seamlessly. When it came to the couch because the one side was so long they had to bring it over the balcony, they literally hoisted it over! In particular, I was in contact with Elesios, Adolfo and one other gentlemen whom I forget the name unfortunately. Elesios was professional in handling the day, providing me with a courtesy call 15 mins and 5 mins of arrival. He assisted with directing and smooth packing and loading of my items, offering what ever materials available to protect my belongings. Though my move to the new location was literally next door, the distance needed to unload from the truck to my new location was not as straight forward as I had hoped. Despite this Elesios and his crew navigated the best efficient path to unload in as little time as possible.
