I do not know where to begin with this review. If I could sum it up in 2 words, it would be - unprofessional and unethical. I made a reservation for a move from Torrance to SCV with Grant but never received a confirmation- 1st red flag!! Grant and another guy showed up on moving day in a U haul, 1 roll of tape and a few raggedy blankets - 2nd red flag!! They took 6.5 hours to load a 2 bedroom and needed constant supervision. One of them also took a 20 min restroom break in the middle of the move in addition to the normal allocated break. Upon reaching SCV, we found our glass dining table top damaged along with a couple of other items. Grant came over a couple of days later and took measurements to replace the glass table top. Since that day (6 weeks since the move) it's been a game of evade and lies. He says he has the table top on order but no idea of when it is due. Now he won't return calls or messages. Extremely unprofessional and unethical. I have to resort to calling him from unknown numbers to get him to answer his phone. I have reported them to the BBB. The good reviews on here are people who just got lucky dealing with this joke of a company!! Please do yourself a favor and pick an honest, reliable and professional company other than these clowns! read more

We had a fantastic experience asking the Moving SCV team to remove the old, stacked washer and dryer out of the tiny closet in our condo. We didn't require a full move, only getting the appliances out and down to the street for someone else to pick up. Incredible how hard something like this was to schedule with other companies! This was a tough job but Joel and Charles were absolutely great. Genuinely nothing but praise on our end. We had such a nightmare experience with these 'movers'. I've used movers several times over the years and have had great experiences with each of them. This was by far the worst. The first red flag was that they came in a uHaul rather than a professional van. Second, the 2 men that came appeared very unprofessional. They were scruffy looking. One of them was rude, constantly sighing loudly and making snarky comments. But the incompetence took the cake - they took far too long and took too many breaks..including a 15 minute toilet break. They took 4 hours longer to move us out than the movers who moved us in did (and from a larger place). They were so slow that my husband started helping with moving stuff too to because it was getting late. Besides the inefficiency, these guys were unprepared for the job (we had to provide packing tape because they came with like 1 roll!) They did not offer moving closets (all previous movers have offered them for free) and didn't even have blankets to wrap furniture. My husband wanted to use a local mover and hastily picked these guys from Yelp. I think he got confused with another moving company with a similar name. I'm shocked at the Yelp reviews and wonder if these have escaped the Yelp algorithm. I urge you to review the Google reviews which unfortunately we didn't; the experience described in those were more like the one we had. They damaged furniture and we wanted to make a claim. It was then we couldn't find a license for them. We made a BBB claim but when BBB tried to make contact BBB reported that the mail was returned. These chaps may be okay to move a few pieces of cheap furniture that's already in a bad state. Otherwise, use the many other options available. I hired Moving SCV to move my mom from assisted living to memory care. They did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them. Grant was my contact and he was very easy to work with. This was a small job but Grant was very flexible and accommodating. I needed him to donate some furniture to Goodwill and take some to the dump, which he willingly did. He also needed to follow some Covid guidelines at the facilities involved. Overall, Moving SCV did an excellent, professional moving job and I was very happy that I hired them. I'm so grateful to John and Chris who did amazing job! They worked really hard, moved quickly and handled my stuff with the upmost care. They even set up my bed. I believe their company start all moving times at 10 AM so coordinate accordingly. John was able to come a little earlier for my move. Definitely have water for your movers. Grant and his guy Chris saved our move! We planned on moving ourselves so we "reserved" a truck through Budget and they didn't have the truck for us the morning we needed it. I called Grant Thursday morning desperate and extremely worried. He locked me in for full moving service from Simi Valley to Bakersfield the next day! His estimated cost was inline with the total at the end, super upfront and reasonable on costs (most company's will hide fees when giving estimates) real deal, best thing that could have happened was finding these guys! I heard about them from NextDoor, and after a short phone call, I knew that Shannon and Grant were the right people to help me out. We were doing most of the small items ourselves and just needed help with the heavy items (piano, washer/dryer, bed, dresser). With most places, they had cookie cutter estimates based on the number of bedrooms - so their estimates were way too high. Shannon and Grant quoted me a reasonable amount for what we actually wanted them to do. They explained why the prices were what they were (the piano being the most challenging piece) and even gave me options (depending on their equipment/team availability and how quickly I needed to move, they could do it on other days for different prices). In this particular case, by getting my own van (since theirs were unavailable on the day I needed them), I could save some money and they would supply everything else (labor, dolly, moving blankets, etc.) Grant arrived on time, made a quick assessment in person of the pieces to be moved, then took 10-15 minutes to collect some extra equipment to ensure the job would be done right. They started at 10am and by 1:30pm we were done at the other house. We were moving back into a renovated home, and Grant took extra caution to ensure that they didn't damage anything moving the furniture back in. He installed the washer/dryer hoses himself. He did exactly what we asked him to do, and didn't waste time/money to do so, nor did he cut corners just to save a buck. Good, honest, but hard work -- the way it's supposed to be. I didn't feel cheated or taken advantage of, and I saw that Grant's team had earned their money. Moving SCV brought their moving expertise here when they moved to our neighborhood, and they delivered as promised. If you want to support an actual neighbor, and hire a company that provides a competitive rate for honest work - I recommend them whole-heartedly. read more
