This company uses door to door salespeople who apparently cannot read "No Soliciting" signs or do not care. I don't care if your service was the best In The world. I would NEVER use your company due to the pushing sales tactics. If you want business, put a sign on the mailbox or door. When you ring the bell you wake up napping babies/toddlers, you make our dogs bark, and you interrupt our remote work. As soon as we see you guys coming in our neighborhood we put out the text alert. The salesman have been rude and irritating by visiting our neighborhood over 3 times. They have ignored the "No Soliciting" signage posted at the entrances to our neighborhood along with those posted on people's homes. They salesman are rude, have laughed in people's faces, and have even tried entering homes without permission. Been a customer for 10 years, and while the pesticide formula they use is effective, the customer service is not. I scheduled an appointment for service inside. The gentleman who scheduled the appointment said the window for the appointment was 8 am to 12 pm. My husband worked from home to accommodate this. It is now 4 pm, and nobody has been to our home... because, I was told by Daniella at their call center in Dallas, Texas, Moxie's window of service is 8 am to SUNDOWN. After I expressed my frustration and stated this was enough to make me look for another company, without any hesitation, she goes to terminate my account. I asked to speak to a manager, but there's no manager to be found. I've been a customer for 10 years, and this is how they handle these type of situations? With all the local soliciting they do, you'd think they'd try to hold onto a long-term customer. UPDATE: A manager called me and said my appointment was, in fact, between 8 am and 12 pm today. She said there was a "glitch" in their system. She tried to make up for the oversight, as well as Daniella's indifference toward me considering terminating the account. Company goes neighborhood to neighborhood soliciting business banging on doors, incessantly ringing doorbells and their reps are pushy, rude, and ignore no soliciting signs. First time they came this blonde 20 something stood in doorway without a mask and would not take no for an answer. Kinda reminded me of a creep who keeps pestering girls at parties to have a drink. Second time they came, they woke my toddler up who was napping because they kept ringing doorbell. Word of advice to the business owners: Stop the harassing outside sales tactics and maybe think about a new script / or maybe (how bout this) going digital. The pesticides were applied uniformly on both the interior and exterior of my property, and all eaves, windowsills, etc. were swept and checked. He was very polite, knowledgeable, and professional. The sales and customer service representative, Ms. Kaylee Turner, was also very helpful in double-checking my order for accuracy & making sure I received a readable copy of my contract when the first didn't download. It is unfortunate that I have to write this review, because I've been a Moxie customer for at least 7 years now and I had recommended Moxie to my neighbors and friends for a long time. But their Customer Service and Management Team are the absolute pits, so my rating is purely on them and not the hard working technicians or the efficacy of their treatment services. We had an appointment scheduled for 3/12 between 12-3. I stayed home that afternoon so I wouldn't miss the technician, as we require indoor service. By 4:30 when the technician failed to arrive or call, I called Moxie to find out what the issue was. The representative could not get a hold of the technician, and the best she said she could do for me was to reschedule...7 days later! I was not satisfied with that option, as I didn't think I should have to wait 7 additional days for service when we had service scheduled and Moxie was a no-show. I asked if a manager could call me at their earliest convenience to discuss the matter, and she assured me one would. An entire week went by, and a manager never phoned me. Then I received an email and an automated phone call alerting me to a service appointment that I never made to occur on 3/24. Our account was specifically notated that service appointments need to be scheduled with me directly, as we require indoor treatment. From the automated call, I followed the prompts and selected customer service. I explain the situation, and again asked for a manager. I was placed on hold for 11 minutes, and then a manager finally came on the line. I explained the full situation, and my frustration with the systematic failures we have been experiencing with Moxie. Not once did he apologize, nor offer any kind of credit for my lost time and frustration for the no-show. He didn't prioritize my issue or tell me he'd send a technician out the next day to rectify the situation. Instead he merely asked if I wished to cancel my service, and I said I suppose I should at this rate. He transferred me over to an account cancellation department, and I waited on hold for an additional 6 minutes until I hung up the phone when no representative was available. I don't appreciate the way I've been treated in the least, and the lack of attention from Sr account management when a customer experiences an issue. Had a manager called me the same or next day after the no-show appointment, sent a technician out within 24 to 48 hours to make up for the no-show, perhaps throw in a small credit as a customer retention gesture, I would have been completely satisfied. Not contacting me for over a week after a missed appointment, then trying to automatically schedule a quarterly service just to charge my credit card on file, and not showing any sense of responsibility or urgency to make things right...it just speaks volumes to me as a customer. It's been one month now since the incident, and the only calls I've received were from Moxie confirming that I was cancelling my service. Wow. I suppose the pandemic did not hurt their business any that they could afford to lose one of their first customer accounts in this area, a long-standing quarterly service contract for over 7 years, and a customer who has referred easily 10-12 new clients to them. First he clean the front then go back to clean my garage door. Not appreciate at all. At that time, my wife was alone inside the house and scared of him will do anything that will harm her. I was very pleased with Aharon's service call on 7/22/24. He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and very good at communicating what he was going to do when he arrived and what he completed at the end of the visit. He also informed me of some things I didn't know about what is offered in our service contract, such as coming out if requested for special or emergency services between quarterly visits at no extra cost, making it a great value. The pushy sales people give this and other pest control services a bad rep, but the service techs are by and large very good and professional at their job and perform a service that makes Moxie worth the money. BTW - I'm in Northern VA, not Staunton VA, but Yelp for some reasons insists on auto-applying the wrong location even though I tried to change it. So whatever. : ) read more

I've had little to no results with extermination of rodents. Initially, response time, traps, visits, etc. were reliable. The salesman was very persistent, had a nice pitch, so I decided to try their services. After being with this company a few months, there are NO changes. They ensure they get their payments monthly but...no changes have been made. And the issue with rodents hasn't changed. If the issue is not resolved in a timely manner, I will cancel further services. I'm on disability and can NOT afford to continually pay for an issue that hasn't been resolved. He approached me in my car in my driveway while I was on the phone and began talking to me though the window. I told him I wasn't interested but he just kept talking. I asked him to leave my property and step away from my door and he refused. I eventually told him that if didn't step away from my car and get off my property that I'd have to call the police. They're BACK! Unfortunately for Moxie, my husband was not home so I got to deal with this aggressively annoying company this year. The young man (again I thought it was an Amazon delivery person) showed up at my front door having ignored the "No Trespassing" signs AND the "No Soliciting" signs. I opened the door and asked him who he was. "From Moxie Pest Control. We are doing some work for your neighbor (name withheld)..." and gestured to a different neighbor's house. I immediately cut him off. No way is ANYONE doing work for that named neighbor because he does all his own pest control AND would throw any solicitors off his property too. I said, "No, you are NOT doing work for that neighbor. You need to head out to read the sign at the entrance to my property and right now you are trespassing. And tell your coworkers not to come here either!" He seemed to be startled and left. Nest Cam captured it all. Another neighbor told me that Moxie employees look in mailboxes for names of the residents so they can use them with other neighbors. That's against Federal law by the way -- you can't go through someone else's mail in their mailbox unless you are a US Postal Employee. I feel sorry for the poor sales people but don't show up at dinnertime and solicit when also trespassing. By the way, I love spiders and snakes and other creepy crawlies. And STOP spraying for mosquitoes! You're killing off the beneficial insects!!! HOW THE HECK IS THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY STILL IN BUSINESS? This is about their technicians - I've always had no issues with customer service, but scheduling and certain technicians can be a pain sometimes. Some technicians miss their time mark & don't even show up or call. I've had technicians that were okay and there to do the job, and I've had some that you could really tell did not want to be there. But I've had one fantastic technician so far that shows up on time & is so helpful, Fernando. Fernando takes not only the time to inspect our office, but to also offer advice on taking care of certain openings or attractions in the office. Since our office is connected to our warehouse, he also took the time to recommend setting up traps near the office door and spraying our whole warehouse area as well. Don't sign with them. First they are horrible at scheduling and second there are service techs who try to upsell you. In fact they don't call them techs they call them sales people. I'm not paying for a sales person to come out, I'm paying for a knowledgeable trained technician. They actually get commission on what services they convince you to get. Had an annual termite inspection and was told I had termites. I got inspections from two other providers and each said there was no sign of termites. They were trying to take advantage and get me to purchase a $$$ treatment. When I spoke with an account manager their solution was for me to sign another contract and not increase my rate.
