I specifically put up a sign telling people NO SOLICITATION right next to my doorbell because of this company. Yet I just had a guy ring my bell. When I pointed out the NO Solicitation sign his excuse was "I'm just a route manager " as if that's a reason to disturb me. PISS OFF!!! read more

Read the fine print Don't get caught I must admit, the first service person was acceptable, however, the service fell sharply by the second visit. And although there was the promise of a termite inspection, it never happened. After the first visit they missed coming during the windows of time they stated, and often had to reschedule the days. Being someone that works during the day, it was hard for me to takeoff work so that somebody could do pest control around my house and then have them not show up which was frustrating. This cost me even more money and time that I did not thing I would have to spend. The last visit they came early and I wasn't even home, they never came in my house and they still charged me. Here I am dissatisfied with there service, and never having received what was initially promised, and as I try to cancel the service, I am told that my contract is not complete and I will have to pay 80 percent of all future service charges to get out of the contract. A contract they have breached multiple times. I also must now find the time to fight one of the larger ant infestation's that the house has ever had. I would not recommend this company service to anyone. Careful doing business with a company who services fall so sharply so quickly (within a quarter), and that will fight tooth and nail for every payment for a contract they themselves will not complete. read more

Same as everyone else. Guy knocked on my door and tried to convince us we have tons of pest problems (bees, mice, spiders). We have zero issues with those. Guys, watch out for the door-to-door Moxie Sales guys -- who make unsolicited Offers and mislead senior citizens (like me) by saying, "You are buying a trial" and getting you to (unknowingly) sign a 1-year Contract. I got a value of about $50 for an application and I was charged almost $500 in cancellation fee. They are VERY difficult to deal with -- from customer service to Account Care. If there were a way that I could a minus 5 stars I would. I am disappointed and dissatisfied. read more

Wow. The nerve of the sales person who just came to my door. He wouldn't take no for an answer and became condescending and trash talked the pest control pest control company I currently use. Tried to point out that I had ants outside my home - well, they're always outside my home and they never come inside, therefore they don't bother me. Why would I pay you to do a 'better' job than my current pest service when I can't even stand you forcing this conversation? Aggressive door-to-door salesmen who insist that their county solicitation permits allow them to trespass on private property and ignore the multiple "no solicitation" signs on our street and on our doors. I've also had multiple salesmen from Moxie refuse to leave the property when asked and just continue to stand at my door with creepy smiles and acting like they didn't hear me when I told them to leave. Even after shouting at them to leave my property, they just continued to stand there leering back with a creepy smile, refusing to leave, take a step back, or apologize for bothering us. Since this has happened multiple times, it's obvious they are trained to behave that way. I would never trust a company whose salespeople think it's ethical and OK to act this way. read more

Don't need pest services but if I ever do, I won't be using them. My door has a large sign that says NO SOLICITING. Apparently their sales people are illiterate and can't read for crap. He ran my doorbell and I watched in my cameras. He didn't leave because he knew I was home because my sprinklers were on. I finally went to the door. He gave me his speech and I cut him off three times and said not interested. I am not interested in doing business with shady door to door sales people who do not follow directions. These guys are using door to door sales people whose tactics are unnerving, forceful, and in my case their person was breaking the law. My community has a no soliciting sign posted upon entry, but that did not deter one person from walking in our community door to door for more than 6 hours. They are dropped off from their team leader and begin walking about. As many know, and have had to learn, we live in a world where we are in a heightened sense of security. Several events transpired over the course of 6 hours that caused many of my neighbors to be alarmed recently. I am urging this company to stop this behavior. In our case the person did not have a license, and was breaking the law. A company who is putting random people, using pushy sales tactics, who are not licensed for Loudoun and whose people are not immediately leaving when told to leave personal property is simply not displaying any concern for the wellbeing of potential customers. I urge anyone with a similar complaint to file and post, and contact the BBB. read more

Someone knock my door to provide the discount of services, I accepted it because I need it. However they never mentioned that discount is only for one services and I have to finish 5 services. They schedule each quarter. Totally SCAM! They will charge you 159 for cancelling. The services itself only take few mins but they charge over 139. read more

Moxie Pest control relies on door to door sale. I highly recommend looking them up before you accept their service. They are not part of the BBB but they give the company an "F". I have also found little positive reviews and negative reviews far outweigh anything positive. A young man came to my door peddling Moxie services. After negotiating price (they always negotiate) of $79 per quarter with a cancellation fee of $79, I decided to use their services. Most of the pest control people were in their car longer than they were exterminating. Very fly by night. Still seeing pests, I told them to discontinue service. They immediately charged my card for services that were very poorly done. They did not charged a $149 cancellation fee and were still charging me $139 per quarter for terrible, lacking, sub par service that didn't kill anything. WORST OFF IN THIS SCENARIO, THEY PRODUCED A CONTRACT WITH TYPED INITIALS AND A SEPERATE SIGNATURE. MY PAPERWORK REFLECTS $79, NOT $139 OR $149. THEY GOT GREEDY AND UPSET THAT I WAS CANCELLING SERVICE AND MADE UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES TO MY CREDIT CARD. So, to recap; it appears there was some inappropriate things done to my contract, my card was not authorized to be charged (not sure why they kept it on file) and I still have pests. Save yourself the hassle and go with a professional company. read more

Did not use their services; might be excellent. BUT -- really pushy, obnoxious, door-to-door salesperson sent to Falls Church. Rang doorbell, knocked on door, kept waiting until someone answered. Then would not take 'no' for an answer. Partner rents. I am visiting. It was during work hours. I can't really engage him. Do you have a business card? No, all online. NO! Partner is not interruptible. (Which I had already stated. Not listening well either.) "Federal" job and on a zoom call. (Who does this salesperson think he is?) These people are the most rude. I believe that they have a bunch of untrained young people who are narcissistic and forcing services upon - Whenever you call to express your needs - these rude people become condescending and wanting to talk to you as though they are superior. No you are NOT! I will not be doing service you after my contract. While I did talk with the original rep who stated the contract was month to month and all of sudden it's not. Train your people to be more professional and understanding of customer's needs! If they put anything in ny yard and I notice any increase of insects - I am going to hire an environmental inspector and take the results to court. Awful customer service. After the initial treatment - I called on the third business day to cancel our account as their treatment didn't seem anymore amazing than our existing pest company. Approximately a month later, my husband gets an email scheduling our next treatment. Confused - I called to inquire why we were being scheduled when I had canceled our account. Customer Service stated that there was no record of my call, nor request for cancellation - and that in order to cancel, I would need to pay the early cancellation fee. I even emailed a copy of my cell phone bill confirming calling their number, 703-378-5119, on 7/12/21 at 2:58pm. I've been getting the run-around from 3 account managers stating that they need to research this. I'm fed up and extremely irritated at how they are handling this account cancellation request. echo other reviewers complaining about the pushy solicitor. they don't know how to take no for an answer. i don't like to be rude or would recommend anyone to be rude - but my recommendation is to not answer the door if you see a blue shirted solicitor with the company "Moxie" on their shirt! my mistake for falling for his tactics; however, i clearly followed the contract and called to cancel on the third business day. for moxie to not honor their own contract is ridiculous! i'm definitely complaining to the BBB. read more

This blonde woman with a pony tail came to my door yesterday and today. I have a "No Soliciting Sign" at the front door and when I informed her about that she said something along the lines they want to give me "really cheap" services for all the bugs (which I don't have a problem with them anyway). When I told her I was not interested she grilled me on the name of the company I use, and then went on to interrogate me about their service, how long I've used them, etc. I see I am not the only one with this problematic company. If you need to drum up business, take an ad in the paper or send out something in the mail. Do not force me into a face-to-face with someone who was not invited (and who is trespassing) on my property. To: Moxie Pest Control If this sales rep comes again I will be calling 911 Fairfax County Police and will file a trespassing complaint against your company. He toke the time to explained the process and asked multiple questions. The technicians Sam and Jake did the same explaining and asking us questions of the pest issues we were having and they worked in extremely hot conditions but got the job done. I've never been so appalled by a solicitor before. Firstly, we have "no soliciting" signs on our front door. The guy came, saw the sign and left, then an hour later he came to our side door instead. Same guy. When I stated we have a "no solicitors" sign, he sidestepped with "oh, I'm not much of a reader." I've made a complaint with the police department, and next time they show up in our neighborhood I'll phone the police to report trespassing. This was the second summer in a row we've experienced these Moxie salespeople, and I can't believe they're still operating after how unethical their sales tactics are. read more

I have had their termite protection and I've decided to cancel it so I can go with another company. A knock on the door around sunset isn't SO bad, but in mid-June when it's light so late? It was after 9! I don't believe sales calls after 7 or maybe 8 pm are appropriate. This company is sleazy and shady! We unfortunately got taken by their door-to-door sales when we first moved into our first house. After a few months of not seeing any difference in bugs, we had another salesman show up in the middle of the workday. He went out to our back woods and must have found some dead termite bugs from one of the dead wood. When he came to show them off, my husband was in a meeting and I was told this would make our house fall down. I thought ok do what you need to and signed for them to put down traps. After seeing the "traps" and understanding that he went into the woods to find the bugs and not our immediate area of the house, we tried cancelling the service all together. Once we realized NOBODY will return phone calls, answer or respond to emails about cancelling service, WEEKS later we got a response that they would still charge us $50 each month, with no service! Because they want to hold us in a contract that was obtained in a super sleazy shady manner, we feel trapped. No honorable business does this. Only money hungry scammers who actually don't care about their reputation. I will be posting more about the sleaziness of this company for as long as they hold us ransom and make sure none of our friends and neighbors use this service. read more

Take this as a cautionary tale...if you have mice (‍) and you have already caught 9 in humane traps (‍) and this makes you realize you are probably in over your head and you need to call a pro...NO MATTER what the rep says about their bait boxes being "tested on rotties and pit bulls" and swears "there's no way your dogs will get into these"...THEY CAN AND THEY WILL. All three of my dogs were poisoned. All 3 had to go to the emergency vet. All 3 are on a treatment plan for the next four weeks to reverse the effects. All 3 are restricted to no/low activity indoors for the next month. I am BEYOND fortunate that they were only alone at home a short time and we were able to get them to the vet quickly. I am beyond grateful as this could have easily had a far worse outcome. It would have been a death sentence for all my dogs. read more

We have been having a tick problem this year. I called and they sent out a technician in two days. Joshua, and his trainee (also Joshua), sprayed and put down granules to kill the ticks and fleas. They are very pushy. We have a very clear no soliciting sign. No one else violates it except this group who have not only ignored it twice but insist on continuing their speech while we say no soliciting over and over.
