We started off with drinks and just about everyone we tried and tasted were very good and very strong, just how we like them. :) We had a wonderful server named Whitney, who was was filled with information about the food and drinks and gave recommendations when asked. I wish we could take her everywhere we go, she was that good, haha!! The appetizers ordered were the Calamari, Poutine and Sushi Cones. They were ALL good, especially the calamari, it was perfectly cooked. I highly recommend them. The main courses included, the steak frites, chipotle mango chicken, chicken madeira rigatoni, and I think french onion soup was also ordered. Everything was great. They do validate for the parking garage as well! Food: My group started with the 1lb of cheese nachos and added blackened chicken. It was enough for the group munch on! I would get those again as an starter. For my meal I had the Salmon & Avocado Cobb salad which was literally beautiful! I appreciated being able to see the amount of protein that came on the $23 salad and cutting it myself. The others in my group really enjoyed their meals as well! Drinks: I went with the bourbon smash which had Maker's Mark Bourbon, fresh mint, pineapple, fresh lemon . It was delicious and mixed so well. You can taste the alcohol, but in the best way. Came here for weekday happy hour drinks. Cocktails pretty good- aperol spritz, margarita, and definitely try the passion fruit margarita. Tried the food from happy hour menu - guac, poutine and potstickers. Poutine was on point with a lot of cheese curds and gravy. Gotta eat them whole hot otherwise becomes all congealed. Guac and chips can't go wrong with them. Potstickers were meh and too much sauce on them. Our waitress was great, professional, friendly and attentive. I was here last year around this time I'm a travel nurse was staying at the crescent across for this bar and came to enjoy my evening here. A group of guys said they accidentally ordered too many shots offered me to take one I accepted. Unfortunately from there is when the BAD service took place. The server was giving me dirty looks and mugging me I wasn't sure why just assuming she had a bad day. She's continuously walking past me saying stuff under her breath and actually called me a b**** so I asked her what was the issue if I did something . She then replies and says "I just hate prostitutes like you who try and get free s*** out of men" lol what ?! This was also said in front of the men who gave me the shots and EVERYONE at the bar while the manager is standing next to her and doesn't say a thing!! I then turned to look at the manager and said you're going to let her talk to me like that?? The manager just started stuttering and saying that it's common for "hookers" to be in there so maybe she can't control the girl or she's just ok with that behavior. She also then tried attacking me once I told her to be careful who she talks to like that because if I was anyone else they probably would've done something instead of just complaining. That's when the manager is trying to hold her back from trying to come at me. Came to this restaurant on Monday night at 6:25. First of all, I love a more upscale restaurant welcoming children by having a children's menu. We were celebrating the last night of our vacation with a 7 and 11 year old, and they were so excited to be in a "fancy restaurant" :) It was the main reason we chose to eat there. And the kid's meals were great! You get a drink and dessert included, and the girls had chicken pieces and fries. It was the BIGGEST bowl of fries and chicken pieces ever, they could have split it. I got the Moxie Martini, it was great. My sister had a cocktail she liked as well. We ordered the one pound cheese nachos for an app. with all the toppings on the side. It was pretty big plate and the toppings were placed really neatly in the middle and i liked that. Do I think that a plate of cheese tortilla chips is worth $19? No, not at all, and I question if they include the plate weight in that one pound assessment. But still enjoyable. For meals: My sister ordered the steak salad and it was DELICIOUS! The goat cheese crostinis were perfect to scoop the lettuce, the dressing was amazing and the steak was cooked to perfection. My brother in law got the Linguine Arrabiatta and loved it. Great portion, pretty presentation, tasty. If you had to critique it, the spicy might have been a little sharper. But my meal was, in my opinion, the main event! I got the salmon and avocado cobb salad. First off, the presentation was beautiful, stunning, amazing. No rows of cut up toppings on a bed of lettuce. It was really unique and beautiful and do not be deceived it was a ALOT of food. The piece of salmon was so thick! Once you cut everything up it was a huge plate. The dressing was SOOO good too- it was a ranch and sundried tomato and really different. This was literally the best salad I have ever eaten in my life. If you're looking for a mix of foods this is the spot. They have the bar area with high tables and booths where they play loud music and then the dining area where it's a bit more quiet. Happy hour is Monday-Friday from 3-6 pm but they have very limited options. To start off we got potstickers and the tuna sushi stack and the sushi stack was definitely our favorite. The tuna was so fresh and a perfect combination with the mangos. I ordered the spicy mango margarita which is made with tequila and mango juice, also very refreshing and will sneak up on you. There were lots of great options on the menu but I stuck with a NY strip with chimichurri that came with vegetables and mashed potatoes. You can also choose from fries, a baked potato, and lemon quinoa as your side. We were celebrating a friends birthday and they put a cute stencil in the best cake I've had in a while. Moxie's is one of our favorite spots. Getting there before happy hour is a must. Even though there's not much on the menu, it is cheaper than some of the other regular menu items. The calamari was really good. It wasn't too chewy and it was really crispy. There's also shrimp pieces in there too so it's kinda like a mixture of both. Very crunchy. The sauces are really good as well. The happy hour drinks are mixed well. The apple martini was my favorite. We also ordered the guacamole. Normally we don't care for guacamole, but moxies were pretty good and the chips were fresh too. Our server, Q was excellent. He took care of us and was extremely attentive. Parking can be better. They offer valet parking but I ended up parking in the garage right in front of the building , which they comp your ticket so take it with you. We made reservations so I would recommend that even though when we went it wasn't packed. They also have a bar that you can walk up to if seats are available. I'm not sure if this is a specialty that they do. But all they drinks looked like water but tasted good. Me and my friend both orders the poutine which was actually really good. We split it. For my main I ordered French toast which was good but I probably wouldn't get again I would try something new. Grabbed a steak salad and the salmon salad, and damn both these things were beasts! Take a look at the pics. If you've got a small appetite maybe share the salad with someone, but hey everythings bigger in texas right? The salmon salad was really good, and the salmon was cooked perfect. A little overseasoned on top, but thats forgiven with how juicy the fish was. The steak salad had a perfectly cooked medium rare piece of steak on top with a good amount of chimichurri. My Deebag, Alpha-Male, older, Frat Boy wannabe coworkers and myself finished off a two day work conference at this classy upscale Uptown bar. The ambience is low lighting, warm wood, romantic and modern...all of which attracts a matching upscale crowd whom is complete opposite of the trash you'll find in Deep Ellum. The cocktails are all delicious and surprisingly not overpriced. The Old Fashioned, Mojito, Mai Tai, and Cucumber Cobbler are all good choices, and so smooth going down. Morgan the friendly and lovely waitress did an excellent job taking care of our group, all the while professionally and politely fending off my male coworkers' terrible pickup lines, unwanted advances, and other toxic masculinity behaviors. I made one joke that we were all on a group Grindr date, in hopes of lightening up the mood a bit. It definitely was not her first time putting up with this crap. At least I think my colleagues(some old enough to be her dad BTW) left her big tips since it was all on our business accounts anyway. Discovered this place via Open table while looking for a low key date night spot. This cute cozy spot is located right on Main Street. The decor is warm and modern. The staff, from hostess to waiter, were extremely friendly and attentive. As a wine connoisseur, I was happy to find out that Wednesday nights are half priced bottles! There's no corking fee and they nicely bag and seal your bottle to take home in the event you don't finish it. Now on to the food. We started with the calamari which came with fried shrimp and was topped with grilled shishito peppers. Both were fried just right, not salty or overly breaded. We also had the maple glazed Brussels with pancetta. Let me tell you..top tier! For entrees, my gf had the half rib rack with loaded potato soufflé and broccolini. I had the steak frites; sirloin topped with chimichurri sauce along side delicious coarsely salted hand cut fries; which were amazing. The steak was okay. Not bad but not as tender or flavorful as I would have liked. However, the chimichurri was a nice touch and helped it along. Lastly, for dessert..blondie brownie with homemade whipped cream and chocolate sauce with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The dessert was absolute perfection; not super sweet and extremely fresh. We visited a friend with our puppy here a week or so ago, and had a great experience! We are still somewhat wary of eating indoors due to COVID, so opted for the outside patio which was great! Each booth is separated well from the others. Also, our puppy was given a big bowl of water! As for the food: reasonable prices for big quantities of food at a relatively nice restaurant, can't complain. The nachos were great to share, probably could be shared among 4-6 people as an appetizer.. or 2-3 as a meal. The tacos were super flavorful and filling. The fries were also crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, just the way I like them :).
