Went here yesterday with my friend since no other Mongolian bbq places were open on Sunday. The quality is super good. Their veggies are all fresh and you can tell this by the mushrooms. Mushrooms go south super quick but these ones were very fresh chopped that morning. Portions are huge... she loaded us up with beef, yum! Why 3 stars? Their sauce choices are bizarre... every Mongolian bbq place in the Bay Area has teriyaki and bbq. They do not. Everything was very sweet-- I used about 8 scoops of curry and a little oyster and garlic. They also didn't have green onions or baby corn (or even regular corn). Got my food, and it was insanely sweet with 0 curry flavor. My friend said he didn't taste curry either and agreed it was a sweet taste. Very odd. We also added garlic and didn't taste it. This place is a great value. You get 2 trips to the buffet line (idk what else to call it) and 2 bowls each trip. You can load whatever you want into your bowls: noodles, vegetables, meat, sauces. I suggest loading up on the meat and leafy greens. They cook down and becomes less than you expect. You pass the raw ingredients to the cook and then watch as she/he cooks your meal. The process doesn't take too long. After you eat there is a soft serve ice cream machine. This was really nice because the ice cream was actually creamy and not icy. Mongolian BBQ is always a myth to me. I feel like every time I try to "create a special dish" it comes back tasting the same as everything else to me...just meat and veggies tossed together in a nondescript sauce. But there's definitely better Mongolian BBQ with higher quality items, and worse. I find this place better than the other place in the bay area (well, there aren't so many of these!), in terms of cleanliness. The selection of food is pretty much the same, the sauces are a bit different, and you can eat a lot of food for an average amount of money. Oh and they have soft serve ice cream for dessert. Went here for lunch with my bf on a Sunday afternoon. The place was not packed at, i think there was only about 4 other ppl in there. Anyways, its an AYCE place and you basically buid your own noodles. Love this concept! Just be careful and dont go over board on your first plate because you will get super full. They have a buffet with side dishes, but the fried rice was cold and crunchy and the orange chicken was cold and almost inedible to eat. Overall, i thought the place was OK. MP Mongolian BBQ is a pretty solid place if you're craving some Mongolian grill. It follows the standard practice you see at other Mongo grills- there's a selection of veggies and meats and you pile them as high as you can in a bowl and douse it in sauce. Once you're done, the chef will cook it for you and it's all yours to eat afterwards. The big difference here is that it's all you can eat! When I was younger, my friends and I would go to Mongo bbq's that weren't AYCE, and we'd have to strategize on how to best pile our ingredients for maximum eats (we realized that piling the noodles on top of the meat would result in more meat and noodles that could fit in your bowl). Since it's AYCE here, you don't have to worry about that! There's a decent amount of meats and veggies to choose from and a huge selection of sauces at the very end. I'm not usually a fan of Mongolian BBQ because I felt that I would be eating similar style of food over and over again (all just stirred fried). However, I actually enjoyed my meal at MP Mongolian BBQ. First of all, the place was clean, certainly cleaner than the one in Downtown MV and the ingridients were fresh and abundance. There were shrimp, lamb, pork, chicken and beef for the protein option. For veggie lovers, there are a large selections of fresh vegetables (cabbage, onions, green onions, shredded carrots, zucchini, bean spouts, mushrooms, etc) and tofu :). You basically get a bowl or two, pile up with the items and pour some sauces over them and handed the bowls full of raw ingridients to the chef to cook them in front of you. The tricky park of mongolian BBQ is that you really have to know how much and what kind of combination of sauces that will work. They do have a recommendation of what sauces to put but you can experiment as well. In this restaurant, they also have a steam table with cooked food items that you can devour (all you can eat). When I was there (friday night), the menu was fried chicken cutlets, sweet & sour chicken, fried rice, sesame balls (dessert/sweets) and there was also a (bland tasting) egg drop soup and steam rice available. They also have an ice cream cone machine, yay! The service was really friendly. They were quite busy on that night that I went but there was no line and they constantly wipe down the buffet counter so that they look neat and clean. You can go back to cook as much food as you want. My friends and I had two rounds each lol.. yeah we were experiencing food coma afterwards hahahah. Read the Yelp reviews and had a craving for some Mongolian BBQ, so we headed toward Menlo Park Mongolian BBQ. The restaurant is located in the back of a shopping center with the front door facing the parking lot. We arrived at 7:15 pm and the restaurant was about 1/3 full. The decor is a bit bland but modern, clean and new. We were seated right away and got to making our food. They offer beef, pork, chicken, lamb and shrimp for the meats. The veggies were broccoli, tofu, onions, green onion, cilantro, carrots, celery, pineapple, water chestnuts, tomato, jalapeno peppers and bean spouts. They could have offered a larger selection of veggies. There was ample amount of different sauces. There were two chefs and the wait in line was short. The food was good and the selection of beers were good $3.50 for a Stella and $2.00 for a soda. The Hot bar had sesame buns egg rolls and the soup was a egg flower soup. My boyfriend loves this place and we usually go here together at least once a month. AYCE Mongolian BBQ with a wide selection of meats and vegetables that you can choose from. You pile them in 2 bowls, pick your sauces and wait for your turn to have your food grilled. This place is usually pretty crowded for lunch and dinner on the weekends. I'm not sure about the weekdays for lunch, but dinner on the weekdays may be busy depending on the time you go. They also have side items to choose from such as fried rice, chicken, soup and egg rolls. I enjoy the side items, but they are pretty filling. In my teeney-bopper middle school mall days, my go-to mall had a Mongolia BBQ in the food court, so I knew exactly what I was getting myself in to when my SO's friend recommended we have dinner here. Then I find out it's $17 and I knew exactly where my money was going: down the crapper. $17 per person for dinner. Keep that in mind. The process goes: - You grab a bowl (or two if you can't fit everything in to one) - Grab some defrosted egg noodles - Pile on some frozen, thinly sliced, terrible grade meat (beef, chicken, lamb, pork) - Pick which canned vegetables you want - Ladle on some sauce to cook it all in (choice of oil, hot oil, ginger, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, cooking wine, chili paste, oyster sauce) - The cook sautes it up and hands it back to you - You can then smother the finished product in sesame seeds, garlic powder, sesame oil, and/or teriyaki sauce to attempt and get some flavor out of the lackluster dish On the side they also had some sad looking soup (it looked like drop egg soup, but smelled like hot and sour soup... so I stayed clear of it entirely), some sweet and sour (probably not real) pork, veggie eggrolls (basically just cabbage inside), and vanilla custard. Pretty good for AYCE Mongolian BBQ but slightly pricey for dinner at $17...create your own noodle, meat, and sauce combinations and they cook it in front of you! My brother loves this place so finally went with my family for a Sunday dinner stop. Compared to some other Mongolian bbq places I have been, this one is more spacious and has more comfortable seating. What is fun is being able to create your plates by grabbing an empty bowl (or, pro-tip, two) and filling it with their frozen sliced meats, veggies, and sauce combinations. Upon first glance, the egg noodles are fresh and not stuck together at all. There is chicken, pork, beef, and lamb (only on weekends) which you can grab as much as you want of before heading to grab veggies such as onions, mushrooms, spinach, and baby corn. The final stop allows you to ladle your own flavor combination, choosing from diluted versions of soy, garlic, oyster, and other sauces. While it may take a couple trips to fine tune your desired flavor, it's pretty fun and interactive (especially for kids). My only disclaimer is that I wouldn't bring friends with major food allergies, vegetarians, and individuals extremely sensitive to spicy food here. Since everything is cooked in one large flat-top, vegetarians uneasy about meat touching their food would not enjoy it here. While I don't mind, I'm always in for a surprise when I don't add any spicy sauces but my plate ends up spicy--It's residue from the large amount off chili oil the person in front of me adds to their plate (most of the time it's from my dad, but still be warned). Overall, the workers to make and effort to keep the bar clean as people rush in and out to grab their food options. They also have a hot food bar with some options for okay-fried rice, orange chicken, and fried egg rolls which are all good for a break from noodles. Their ice cream soft serve is actually pretty good--a creamier version of McDonalds soft serve to me. For $17, it's a little pricey for me based on the limited bowls I can eat. This is my go to place for lunch or dinner, as they have so many options (including gluten-free friendly) that you can pick and choose and have them grill it, to your flavoring. I am gluten intolerant, so I just grab only the meat and vegetables, and then I fill my bowl with rice (they have both steamed rice and fried rice). It's very reasonably priced, and you can get a lot of food, as many times as you want. I recommend that when you're grabbing ingredients, use many bowls and fill them sparsely. This'll make it easier to add ingredients and condiments. My only complaint is that they removed bell peppers in 2017 and never offered them again. Bell peppers tasted so good with everything. I understand that they are pricey, and I would be willing to pay extra to add bell peppers to my bowl. read more

When you walk in you are not sure if you just grab a bowl and go through the line or wait until you are seated. We didn't see any employee so we got in line. It still came out less flavorful than I wanted. As other reviews stated it was more sweet than anything. Not wanting to waste food, I didn't go through a second time, however I paid for a to-go order for my wife and made the appropriate changes I thought were needed to make it taste better. She ended up still not enjoying it. My 11yo son was charged the full adult dinner rate, which I thought was weird. Total for 3 meals was $73+tip. I wish I knew how much this placed changed before I walked in to eat there. Years ago it was all you could eat and that included shrimp as a meat choice. There used to be a hot food Buffett in the back area. Now they use those warmers to store their bottled beverages. They also charge extra for egg rolls and fried rice, when it used to be included in the price before and they also had katsu chicken and sweet and sour chicken as all you could eat! It's not worth the price anymore! They shouldn't call it a Buffett anymore if you are limited to having 2 bowls per visit! I can go get an order of noodles some where else for half the price! I gave it 3 stars mostly because of the value. For $13.99 for lunch you get all you can eat mongolian BBQ, plus there's a side bar with fried rice, egg rolls, white rice, a few other fried things, hot and sour soup, and then a frozen yogurt machine. However the actual BBQ portion is just ok, and I say that mostly because of the sauces. The ingredients are pretty good with the thinly slice (and pre frozen) cuts of chicken, pork, or beef (there is an add on of white shrimp for an up charge) and then there's noodles if you want, and then a whole slew of fresh stuff - broccoli, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, pineapple, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, spinach and others. And then at the end you create your sauces from a bunch of different liquids like chili, curry, soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, sugar, garlic, ginger, hot oil. But it's all these really thin liquids, so even if you make the curry sauce, it's not a real curry type of sauce because it's a thin liquid only. I prefer the mongolian BBQ places that offer the thicker heartier sauces and things like coconut milk and actual garlic and ginger paste to bring more flavor and heartiness to your dish, but it seems in the Bay Area there aren't many mongolian bbq places to choose from. Not super crowded on a weekday lunch but there was a fair amount of flow through so people seem to know about this place. AYCE mongolian bbq. that alone says it all. come for lunch and its only ~13$. just keep making your bowls and they will cook it for you. add as much or as little sauces as you want. they have signs to help if you dont know what youre doing. i just do lots of garlic and hot sauce. for lunch besides the bbq, they have soup, rice, fried rice, and sweet and sour fried chips. and of course they have soft serve ice cream when you are done and so full you are feeling guilty. the meats are good with chicken, pork, and beef. plenty of veggies and noodles. cooks really fast so you dont have to wait too long. for the price its a great place. you make it taste how you want. water comes in beer mugs. hehe. come with an appetite leave with regrets. lol read more

I am not an expert in dining Mongolian-style meals. But for $11.99, you get to be creative and choose any raw Asian pasta, meat(s), vegetable(s), and any combination of sauce(s) and condiment(s) to have your dish grilled in a (give or take) 2,500 degree heated round stove cooked thoroughly by the professional chef. Of note: Raw pasta and some of the raw items are expanded in size and may require more than one bowl. But once the chef cooks all the raw ingredients, the items will shrink.
