Easily my favorite Bánh mì in Bolsa now! Why? Because the baguette bread is fresh, dense, and exhibits an incredibly irresistible mouthfeel. They provide pickled carrots in a sealed bag as well as cilantro, which is very handy and clean. If you order your sandwiches with veggies inside, they'll prepare it for you. Service is on the slower side and prices are definitely higher than other competitors but I prefer quality over quantity anyway. Good banh mi! I seriously never get tired of eating banh mi so I always like to try out other shops. My go to for Mr. Baguette is the banh mi pate cha and it's $4.29 (slightly pricier than other stores). Your sandwich comes with a cute sleeve for you to use to eat without getting your hands dirty. The sandwich itself, I would say it's longer and a little wider than other locations like Banh Mi Che Cali and Lee's Sandwiches. They also pack in a lot of the meat unlike some other locations I've visited. Come here if you want a more filling sandwich! BE WARY that in my personal experiences, their baguette is usually way harder than a lot of other locations. Not to the point where you couldn't bite into it but just a little more difficult to eat. Sometimes the bread is also crunchier on different days, but generally hard for other days. This isn't a major problem to me because I usually don't eat my banh mi right away so the bread softens up over time. As a result, it's perfect to eat. HOWEVER, if you're the type of person who likes harder baguettes then you should definitely give this place a try. What I also like about the banh mi is that they don't pack it with tons of mayo so it's not overbearing to eat. Also, their pickled carrots and daikon are finely sliced and neatly packed into the sandwich, so you don't have to take an unnecessary bite of a huge pickled piece. Interior is clean and customer service is to the point: you order then receive your order. The employees make the sandwiches quickly so no need to wait a long time for your food if you're on a time crunch. 2018 Christmas Day, Mom and I decided to make it an OC Foodie Adventure Day. One of the items on our list was baguettes since we had just bought a bunch of Cha Bi and Cha Lua (assorted Vietnamese Meatloaves) from Cha Lua Ngoc Hung. Originally, we were planning on hitting up Pickle Banh Mi, but they were closed for Christmas. Therefore, Mom suggested Mr. Baguette. I was a bit hesitant in wanting to come here, especially, since the Mr. Baguette (Valley Blvd., in Rosemead) in my area sucked. However, with gentle coaxing from Mom, she managed to convince me to come here. Also, we were getting hungry, and so we'll try out the Banh Mi Dac Biets first. Mr. Baguette is located in the same plaza as Tasty Garden and Trai Cay Goc Pho. They're pretty much smack dab, right in the middle. You can't miss them. Parking: Medium size plaza. Parking is a bit tight in the front, but there's also a lot of more parking spaces in the back. With a little bit of patience, you're bound to find a spot. We got two Banh Mi Dac Biets ($4.29 each) first. Yes, you can choose either: Sesame, Regular Baguette or Softer Baguette. We stuck with the Regular Baguette for all our orders. The baguette itself was crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I also liked that per bite, the baguette didn't shatter all over the place. The assorted meats were plentiful, fresh and hearty. There was a good amount of butter and mayo spread in there, which made the baguette not only softer, but easier to swallow since it wasn't as dried. The pickled carrots provided that sweet and tangy taste in between. However, the only two things that Mom and I both agreed on that we wished they had put more in was the pate spread and pickled carrots. Those items were a bit skimpy. Other than that, I definitely enjoyed the Banh Mi Dac Biet at this Mr. Baguette location. Before heading back to the 626, we later came back and got four more Banh Mi Dac Biets and six baguettes ($1.35 each) to go. Once we got back to Alhambra, we stopped by and visited my Brother's family. My Mom gave him two baguettes, two Banh Mi Dac Biets and two Chas (Vietnamese Meatloaves) and the rest we took home. Baguettes: For the next few days, my Mom made homemade Banh Mi Dac Biets. I loved that even a few days after, the baguettes still tasted delicious. Even after toasting them up a little bit, it remained crisp, soft and chewy. Best of all, it didn't shatter all over the place per bite, either, yay! Service: The ladies there was nice and courteous. After we placed our order, our sandwiches and baguettes were ready within less than 10mins. Ambience and Décor: The shop itself is clean and spacious. They also sell other assorted sandwiches, croissants, cookies, pates and drinks. There's also a small area that seats about three people if you want to dine in there. Mostly, people take their food and drinks to go here. There's only one unisex restroom and it's clean and stocked. Overall, I dig this Mr. Baguette location and wouldn't mind stopping by here again. read more

My dad has dentures and he can appreciate the texture of this bread. Along with my elderly aunt who always complains about certain breads being too tough/rough on the mouth. The outer bread is crunchy but light, so it's easy to bite into. Love their pate here! You're paying for quality, not quantity, and the people who complain here seem to be penny pinchers who aren't adjusted to paying a penny more than the typical, old school Vietnamese places. I've ordered the egg and cheese, veggie turkey, veggie ham and meat pastries. All are fresh and good. Today, was my day to bring something for work. The grilled beef and chicken came with lettuce and mayonnaise and not the traditional Vietnamese mayo, pate, pickled veggies, and peppers. I didn't really care for them but the NUMBER 1 SPECIAL was still great as ever. The bread was nice and cruise and warm. The amount of meat and veggies were perfect for the size of the bread, cause let's face it these sandwiches are huge! I like that you get your own chili peppers because you can control how much you get. But I don't like how they charge extra if you want to put the veggies on the side, Service is a bit slow and the display cases were empty but could be due to everything being bought up I can't assume. By far my favorite banh mi place! It is probably the cleanest banh mi shop ive seen by far! You can see everything through the open kitchen concept. Their baguettes and meats are all very fresh and tasty too. I was helped by Sonny on my phone order and he seemed like he enjoyed working here. He got my long order and all my extra requests correct.. he made sure of it twice. I think everyone would agree with me that its a hassle to be picking up the wrong order and having to come back to figure it out. When we first went to Mr. Baguette, it looked promising - quick line/service, clean restaurant, and modern looking place. We ended up ordering some grilled pork banh mi and I ordered a Thai Tea for myself. When I started drinking the Thai Tea, it tasted pretty bold at first. It's stronger than most Thai Tea I have had, and although not as sweet, still good enough to drink. However, it must have been heavily iced because it wasn't too long before the Thai Tea started tasting very diluted. I probably finished about half of it before drinking something else. The banh mi was interesting. We ordered grilled pork banh mi but when we opened it, it was more like a pork pate. Either their grilled pork is very strange or they mislabeled our food and gave us the wrong item. It was still tasty, but not what I wanted nor really expected. The baguette was also very flat - probably about half as fluffy as the usual baguette I am used to. I know this is a cheap place to order some food, but the food was somewhat disappointing. Mr. Baguette has one of the lightest tasting and balanced tasting banh mi I've tasted in the area and I never feel too stuffed afterwards. The bread is soft and crunchy and the fillings/vegetables are fresh and not too pickled-tasting. I get #1 as my go to and it's not bad. My sister tried out #5 and the pork was well seasoned and not overly greasy! I always order their iced coffee and crave for more days after. I love how smooth it is and it's been pretty consistent.
