Long overdue review of my FAVORITE AYCE Korean BBQ place! Been coming here for years and this was one of the first place we ventured out to after we were brave enough to eat out again after the pandemic. We returned again for a nice Mother's Day lunch where they offered free champagne for the mom's and a magnetic photograph of your party. Never been a fan of dining outdoors but they created a nice inviting space in their parking lot. I actually now prefer eating Korean bbq outdoors with the natural ventilation! For me, in addition to the variety and quality of protein choices, the banchan offered is equally important as well as the tastiness of the steamed egg and tofu soup. My husband and I have been obsessed with Mr. BBQ ever since we moved to Orange and discovered it in 2021. We have since moved to south OC but still find the time to make a trip here and there because there's no other KBBQ like it in Orange County. The meat selections are always so fresh. One of our favorite parts of Mr. BBQ would have to be the vibes and ambience of the whole place as well. It's always jam packed with the best playlists going to keep the energy up. TVs all around so you never miss a sporting event going on. Great place for groups and parties/celebrations. We've introduced Mr. BBQ to so many friends and family members. I would definitely come back here. It was so loud in there and can get prettty hot but the food was outstanding. There were so many different kinds of meats which is nice. A personal favorite was the wagyu finger short ribs. The service was not bad at all, I could see he was serving various tables at a time so I can understand when he would take some time to come back around. They have a lot of sides but personally I wasn't a fan of the macaroni salad or potato salad bc they were on the sweet side. Also be prepared for long wait times read more

I came here with my boyfriend and our friends for his birthday and we had a party of 12 people. The waitlist is no joke, we added our party on the wait list around 5:45 and they told us we wouldn't be seated until 8:30. Luckily, they called us and seated us earlier at around 7. The food was some of the best kbbq I've had. We had the regular dinner AYCE menu and for 37 dollars a person with the quality and the amount you get, it is so worth it! The service was great as well considering there were 12 of us and one server, he was very attentive to all of us. I would love to come back here again. This review is for 1/7/23 I tried joining there waitlist on Yelp but it was closed so i called to confirm if we needed to be there to join in person the worker said yes. Once we got there, we were seated within 5 mins so the wait wasn't even a wait haha My bf and i love coming here to get our bbq fix! We always get the beef belly, brisket and ofc bulgogi (: we shared a lychee soju drink and it was 10/10! I enjoy their ban Chan so much i continued to asked for refills ! Mr.BBQ is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, all you can eat KBBQ in SoCal. Some highlights below: Pros: - the meats are DELICIOUS! My favorite kbbq meat ever is their wagyu beef belly. I highly recommend coming here to get this - perfectly thin and fatty so it crisps up and melts in your mouth. - plentiful banchan and with lots of variety. It's like Mr. BBQ took all the best banchan you can ever find in a Korean restaurant and put it here. I eat a lot of their japchae (I know it's carbs, but I can't help it). Their salad also has a delicious dressing mix and helps break up the meat sweats by adding some freshness and tartness. Their pickled veggies (like kimchi) can be a hit or miss though, as it's sometimes under pickled. Cons: - consistently long wait times. If you don't come during one of their rare down times, be prepared for a two hour wait. I highly suggest watching Yelp for their wait times and get on the waitlist virtually. - inconsistent service. My first time here, I received impeccable service. Quick meat and banchan turnaround times, good check ins. My second time here, service was much slower even though the place wasn't as busy as the first time I came. Our server was super nice, but still took a lot longer to bring the next plates of meats and refill the banchans. All about the superior meat quality. Made the drive after work mid-week, managed to arrive by 4:15 pm and endured a short 8-minute wait. I had scouted the menu and drove here specifically for the amazing reviews/rating and the grade of meats as advertised - prime, choice - and Angus and Wagyu (beef belly). We went with the more expensive option. A 12-oz prime-grade ribeye steak costs quite a bit at the supermarket these days. I'd estimate at least between $20-$30 per steak, while many supermarkets don't even have prime grade meats available. So basically eating a couple of these steaks gets you your money's worth (about $46? for the top option). Good deal. Loved the scallops. Not small scallops, more like jumbo scallops. Also expensive. The salmon came wrapped in foil and was fresh as well. Had to have some solid seafood. The brisket, beef belly, boneless marinated beef rib, and galbi, were all wonderful. I could taste the quality over my usual kbbq restaurants. Kids under 5 eat free at the time of this review. Even provided a neat kid's platter with free juice. As for the "ambience": I don't really like the vibes, maybe too casual and somehow in between hip and weird. The service was on point. Frequent grill changes. Fast order fulfillment. Tried Mr. BBQ for lunch today and we had a great experience! Our server Brian was so helpful in explaining the menu and put us on their house special brisket sauce which was sooooo delicious with the meats (and I don't usually like brisket sauce). It was also probably the best service i've had by far since we rarely ever had to ask him for anything since he kept checking in on our table! The meats were super good quality and it was banchan heaven. Whoever was on aux also deserves a praise because they were playing bangers the whole time we were there. My family and I met with Friends to have dinner here. They recommended this place and knew all the tips to this place. However, I'm not a fan. Food was great, there were an abundant amount of meats. I've never had KBBQ, so having to pay to cook my own food, is counterproductive. On top of that, my clothes reeked. The servers were friendly and came around quite often to ask about any more requests. However the place is so tight with so many tables crammed. The location isn't the cleanest and it could just be because there is so much movement going on. We went on a Saturday night evening, it was jammed packed! Our friends were 5 miles around the restaurant and got us on the waitlist 2 hours prior to being seated!!!!!! Honestly not worth a 2 hour waitlist. The price was pretty inexpensive $35 for all you can eat. However the noise level was EXTREMELY loud, since the music is so loud. I advise against dining at this place due to the abundance of excellent barbecue restaurants available. The meat is not fresh, has a very dark color, and four of us experienced diarrhea and ended up with infections for two days after eating here last Friday. The wait was long (2 hours) even though we joined the waitlist. Also, we can only join the waitlist if we are 5 miles away from the restaurant. There were no where to sit while waiting. One of the members from our group has some joint related issue, and I asked the receptionist to see if I can borrow one of the plastic chairs. The receptionist gave me a cushioned chair instead. (Plus 2 stars) We also tried to order cocktails, but they did not have all the drinks (let's be fair, we asked them for 4 different cocktails and they did not have any) we were trying to order. We ended up drinking coke zero. They have a lot of variety of meat. My favorite is the marinated sirloin and garlic pork. I am pretty disappointed with the bulgogi as the meat was rough. The service from our server was a little slow. Wait was long, food was ok, a bit pricy, they did not have the drinks we wanted to order. The receptionist's service saved this review. Wow! This spot is definitely worth the wait! Our server was Vince and he made sure we were taken care of. He was Prompt with the orders and checked in on us often. Well 3500+ people can't be wrong. This place exceeded our expectations. The meat was of good quality. The portions were generous. The sides were varied and tasty. And it was fun to work for your food. Plus the price is amazing for what you get. FOOD: I love the variety and the fact you can order the cuts of meat you want! Unlike a Brazilian Churasscaria where you have to wait for them to bring by the meats you want, here you can pick and choose. Plus the cuts are good. And I appreciated the variety of banchan. I'm kinda sad that this is my new favorite kbbq place because I live 6 hours away :( My partner and I were immediately impressed by both the quality and quantity of the sides, each one was pretty good. My favorites were the sort of crunchy vermicelli in a mayo sauce and the fish cakes. We came during lunch and tried the brisket, spicy pork belly, pork cheek, and another pork dish I forgot. However the star of the show was the wagyu beef belly!! Every other place I've ordered this at has been drrrrry as hell but this one was so fatty and delicious Tofu soup was good but pass on the steamed egg, it was kinda just like a overdone omelet instead of being fluffy. They also gave small scoops of cookies and cream ice cream afterwards. We came after California opened but they still served us plastic covered utensils and disposable bowls, which I appreciated. I usually don't go here because it is on the pricier end, but let me tell you it is so worth it to go. All meats that we ordered were so tender and so flavorful. My favorite cut of meat was the wagyu beef tounge. It was so soft and I just kept ordering more. Our server, Tommy, was so attentive to our table and with our a million requests, he always responded with, "my pleasure." Also, he was extremely quick with fulfilling our needs. Delicious KBBQ spot! Dinner AYCE was $35.99. I don't eat red meat or pork so sometimes I worry about the options available at restaurants like this. I was happy to find multiple chicken, seafood, and non-meat options available. I would highly recommend the spicy marinated chicken - it was tender and had so much flavor in each bite... we had to get multiple orders! I also really enjoyed the steamed egg and tofu soup in addition to the main proteins. Both were so soft and wonderfully warm. Finally, the banchan and salad complimented the meal so well and I loved trying each of them throughout dinner. The only downside is the wait time. I had to put my name on the Yelp wait list super early and it was still over an 80 min wait for a table of 2!
