I'm just like Douglas S. Been in the neighborhood a long time and have seen Mr B's but never stopped in there to eat. Monday afternoon about 3pm, I decided to stop in there and give it a try. Sports bar theme. Family owned and operated. Lots of OU and Longhorn memorabilia all over the walls and booths. Extensive menu. Homemade desserts. I thought I would try the half pound OU burger. Jalapeno flakes, cheese, hickory sauce and grilled onions. Also ordered with lettuce and tomato and pickles. Selected seasoned fries with my order. The burger looked great when the waitress brought it out. The beef was thick and juicy. The lettuce, tomato and pickles were fresh, a big plus. The burger was hot, juicy and tasty. Now that was an excellent burger! The seasoned fries were awesome too. Crispy and tasted great! I washed it down with a diet Dr Pepper. The burger was filling and satisfying. Our waitress suggested there homemade desserts and showed me the banana split pie. I so wanted a piece of that, but there was just no room! I will definitely go back and try some of the other burgers and eat some of that pie too! read more

We used to come here regularly, then Arlington blew up with burger joints. We started visiting more highly touted restaurants like Chop House, Twisted Root and Five Guys, all of which are great. Mr. B's, however, is a reasonably priced, family owned shop that serves really good burgers and fries in an atmosphere that celebrates college sports without coming across as a true "sports bar". Adult beverages are limited to beer, a few mass markets on tap, Shiner and at least one smaller brand. People don't come here for the beer selection, but more for the friendly service and tasty burgers. They've added some variety in the past few years: I enjoyed the "OU Burger", which is your basic cheeseburger with hickory sauce and jalapeños. Very tasty. Fries are crisp and flavorful. Some places try too hard to make French fries the centerpiece. Here they are quality accompaniments to a good burger. After being away from this place for a few years, I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, visiting with fellow customers as if we were regulars, and some very tasty burgers. This is a great place when you don't want to pay gourmet prices for a good hamburger. read more

Really nice ambiance and wait staff and owner, but i wasn't impressed by my burger at all. It has all the look of and awesome burger, but lacked the punch. I have nothing but nice things to say about the people and location, the burger wasn't for me. This burger place is nondescript at best from the outside. I've been in this area for 15 yrs, and been to this strip mall a hundred times. I only took notice of it 2 weeks ago. It's nice on the inside.. 8 booths and 4 tables. and a bar. 4 TV's , all sports. Checked their menu out online and pleased to see an interesting variety of food. I ordered the good old-fashioned cheeseburger with bleu cheese, hold the pickles add onion. It took a little while for the burger to get to me but it was well worth the wait. The seasoned fries were crispy and light, and the burger itself was thick juicy and flavorful. Lettuce and tomato were fresh. it outside a very good helping of the bleu cheese. Service was very down-home with apparently all members of the family on deck working. The price for the meal was well within range of average. read more

The base burger is tasty and we'll seasoned. The Chipotle is actually SPICY and not just watered now sauce. The cook actually cooked as REQUESTED and kept the burger medium and made the fries crispy. The tea is actually brewed and tastes sooo good. We will definitly be back and will bring the kids. It's not a big place, but the Texas Tech/OU house divided theme and decor is cute. I googled best burgers bear me and this place popped up. I was excited to try one of their signature burgers. I had the Jan Burger after reading the reviews. It was just okay. Based on the reviews I expected my burger to be juicy. The Jalapeño cream cheese has a good flavor. My favorite part of the meal was their seasoned fried with homemade ranch dipping sauce. Put the looks aside for a moment, ok. The burger at Mr. B's is a rarity in that it is a technical wonder. The patty is very thick and cooked through yet it maintains juiciness and more importantly, the texture of the ground was adequately loose and finely granulated. How do they do this? I mean, this ain't Minetta Tavern's Black Ribbon champion but it has some qualities of that illustrious burger. The fine grind, the thickness, the softness, part of the juiciness....it's kinda there. On top of that, Mr. B's has managed to make a sizable patty that does not ooze of grease. My oh my. How??? I've done the standards in DFW like Simply Burger, Twisted, Angry Dog, Fred's, Kincaid's, Jakes, the multi pound monstrosity in Oak Cliff (Wingfield sp?) we're talking man-ly satisfaction here ......but in terms of patty quality and finesse, Mr. B's is something refreshingly unique. read more

Had the old fashioned cheese burger with pepper-jack. It was a good burger, not great but good. Wife had the hickory. I think mine was better. If you're in the area, it is better than chain restaurant burger. There is a lot to try on their menu, but a place with Burger in the name should have excellent burgers. read more

Food took too long to come out. Chili was lukewarm and seemed from a can, microwaved. My cheeseburger was ok but my husband's Jan burger was like eating an overcooked hamburger hockey puck. Coke tasted odd. French fries tasted mildly like fish sticks. (Same oil?) Very good service though. Bun was also nicely toasted, so they got that going for them, which is nice. read more

If you like french fries, fried mushrooms, jalapenos, etc., this is a place for you. What this restaurant lacks in atmosphere, it makes up for it with flavor. I tried this place after considering it for months. The burgers were delicious, not the best in town imo, but still hot and mouthwatering. The Texas Tech Melt was a hot burger patty, on top of a fried onion ring, topped with fried pickle chips, melted swiss, all snuggled in between two slices of texas toast. They had pies and banana pudding, and the wait staff was prompt and friendly as can be. Will return to try another specialty burger or maybe just some beer and fried foods! read more

Thought we would give this place a try. Nice place and provides an environment outside of the typical chains. Great customer service and wifi is free. Ordered a combo appetizer with fried pickles, onion rings and corn nuggets. They were great. Had a juicy hamburger. It was very tasty. The only downside is that they use "Fancy Tomato Ketchup". The sign outside says "Best Burger in the World (by Owner)". I'd agree that it's definitely the best burger in Arlington. The burgers are thick and juicy; not too dry or greasy. The staff is really friendly; especially Vicky, who remembers people's names and regular orders. My wife loves the "Jan" burger with spicy cream cheese, jalapeños and roasted red peppers toppings. I'm an "Old Fashion" burger kind of guy. You also have the choice of regular or "crinkle" fries. The pies are also a treat. Just a great neighborhood, family owned place. read more

Entered "burgers" from our current location on Saturday and this was the first place that popped up so we headed over. We had the Texas Tech, Old Fashioned and Swiss/Mushroom burgers. Each of us said our burgers were really good! The fries were amazing. Staff is really nice and answered any questions we had. We had queso and chips to start with and though the chips were really good the queso needs to not come out of what seemed to be a can. Either way, the entrees were really good! I am so glad to have discovered this place, it's quickly become one of our favorite on a long list of burger restaurants. We've been coming here for about 2 years now...discovered tucked in a corner of a Wal-Mart Neighborhood market shopping center, it's not immediately obvious. Make no mistake though, it's delicious! The menu is huge...every kind of burger you can imagine. The appetizers are spot on (our faves are the fried pickles and the mozzarella sticks...YUM). The burgers are thick and juicy. They don't seem like handmade patties (they're too perfectly shaped) but they're still so good! Baskets come with battered fries which are unique and tasty, or onion rings which are equally as good so sometimes it's hard to choose. Ambience pays tribute to every Texas sport team imaginable, kinda fun. You'll probably see VickI, she's always there and full of pride for her spot and deservedly so. She's very friendly and treats all her patrons like they're family coming to her home...so full of sweet southern charm. Most might remember my not so nice review of Mr. B's. I was able to get in touch with the manager. Vicki(the manager) and I discussed what the issues were that night. Tonight, we gave Mr. B's a second chance and both my husband and I are glad we did. I tried the Haley burger again and this time my hubby had Jan's burger. Both were really good! Fries were on point again too. We also tried their cheese sticks, bottle caps, and fried pickles. I love me cheese sticks and fried pickles. I love the taste of the bottle caps but acid reflux says enjoy them too much. And Vicki's Mud pie was amazing the pic with most of it gone was what I left for my hubby. We both agreed the last time was an off night for Mr. B's and we also agree that we will be back again. We will have to take my MIL there.
